The donuts were very oily, and the oily taste was rancid. Perhaps we caught them on an off day.

They have the BEST blueberry muffins!!!! They are loaded with fresh blueberries. Tons of them. They are so yummy. I love them so much that I don't even want to try any others. They donuts are also very yummy, fresh and tasty. They a have a wonderful selection. The owners are very friendly. They have a lot of regulars and have been there for years. They fry their donuts in very old oil. When you're done eating one of those donuts you have a bad taste in your mouth of bad oil and maybe soy sauce. I used to love this place but it's went downhill fast. It's too bad there's not a good donut place in the Sierra Madre area. read more

Great donuts, great iced coffee and they are very neighborly. We're regulars here, and one time we forgot our money and they served us 5 donuts and 5 coffee drinks and allowed us to come back later to pay. And it's a cool place. read more

Donuts are good but the lady who owns the shop is incredibly rude. I have had very bad experiences with her and other friends have also complained. For example when I ordered donuts and asked that they be put in a larger box so that it would be easier to get out she refused and told me to go somewhere else if I didn't like it. Previously she also made very lewd comments about athletes on tv which was extremely embarrassing and uncomfortable. Definitely avoid this place. read more

I stopped in today to satisfy my craving for a crumb donut. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. He patiently waited while I made my selections and pointed out a more cost-effective option than my original plan. The crumb donut was delicious. They are just as good as any other donut shop, including Donut Man in Glendora. You just need to know what to get and what your tastes are. I prefer maple bars, and these guys have good maple bars. Get there early in the morning when they are fresh. It's a different thickness and taste, but very good. Their highlight, however, is the maple buttermilk bar (if you don't like maple they have chocolate and glazed buttermilk bars). Best donut in the shop. read more

I have a thing for devil's food donuts. I got 2 here for $1.30 on Friday night at 6pm. I gave one to my mom, and shared the other one with my 2yr old nephew. I can spoil dinner time, I'm the aunt. He'll still eat the good stuff and then we'll spend the evening running around. The donuts were a big hit, I had share with more people and I am being sent there in the morning for a dozen. The guy behind the counter was super nice and friendly and after the fun day I had at the DMV and the car dealership, this was a great treat. read more

Sierra Doughnuts is the "Cheers" of doughnut shops! The owner's and staff know the names of most of their clientele as well as their usual order. There is always some sort of friendly banter taking place and it's impossible to leave there without a smile on your face. Staying with a friend in the area who recommended this donut shop. These donuts were awesome! We had a chocolate iced, bear claw, cake donut, and a ham and cheese croissant. Not too good. The raised donut with chocolate was greasy and layer of chocolate was thin and tasteless. The cake doughnut with peanuts had barely any nuts on it and most of the glaze (and nuts) fell off during the first bite. The rest of the donuts our small group ordered weren't any better. The young man behind the counter appeared bothered that it was taking us a few minutes to make our decision. The store was not busy and there wasn't anyone else waiting. A woman did walk in while we were telling him our choices and he walkied away from us, without comment, and helped her. I could understand if she had come in while we were looking and deciding, but we had actually begun telling him our order. There are much better donuts in town, so we'll skip Sierra in the future. read more

Come here every day after school (which is right across the street. GO LANCERS!). Favorite donut place in the world. Best donut is the chocolate chip. It's a large, square donut, covered with chocolate icing, sprinkles, chocolate chips and filled with chocolate goosh and more chocolate chips. They always have one ready for me. Wide variety of drinks. My personal choice is the Mexican Coke. People who work there are friendly and know everyone who comes in. read more

I will never go back to Sierra Madre Doughnuts. This morning I drove up excited to try this little donut shop out, parks out from next to two other cars. When I went inside the woman behind the counter starting yelling at me that I parked in the driveway. I have never experience anything like it, to be yelled at in front of other customers instead of politely telling me that I need to move my car. Which didn't make sense since there was two other cars parked and they were marked spots. I left in shock. When I called back to complain to the owner the man on the phone told me that was his wife and what is he suppose to do about it, that's just how his wife talks to people he said. This is the first and last time I would go to this donut shop. The donuts were flat and gritty with the taste of old oil. I went there at 10am on a Sunday morning and most of the donuts were gone. They know Sunday mornings are busy, so why not be stocked and ready? This really annoyed me. For $10.70 a dozen I would much rather go to Dunkin' Donuts or Krispy Kreme. read more
