Olympic Donuts (OD) is at the corner of Lower Azusa and Temple. It is in a shared lot with a market and dumpling restaurant. The lot is a little small for all three businesses. However, on a weekend morning, we were able to get parking no problem. OD has both limited indoor and outdoor seating. It appears to be in an old Weinerschnitzle building. On our visit there were some sketchy people outside including one man apparently sleeping it off at a table outside. Comparable to other local mom and pop donut shops, there is a glass case with donuts and limited other items, breakfast sandwiches, and burritos. We got an apple fritter and a chocolate cake donut with peanuts. The apple fritter was super huge, but thin and not as dense as Uncle Joes or Rosemead donuts. The quality was good. The cake donut was comparable to elsewhere. The lady behind the counter was pleasant and efficient enough. In comparison, Uncle Joes (UJ) and Rosemead Donuts (RD) have comparable quality to Olympic Donuts (OD). However, OD has the best parking and RD the worst and OD has the sketchiest neighborhood and UJ's the best. On the whole UJ is the best, RD second best, and OD comes in third. If you are in the area and can deal with any sketchy people that might be around, OD is worth a try, otherwise, just go to UJ to deal with less parking hassles than RD and less strange people than OD. read more

Stop by for the first time and was welcomed by a nice couple. It's a smaller location so they don't have a lot of variety but they do have the basics. Got a half a dozen donuts. We moved to the area and my son's been asking to try it and he was happy with what I picked. Loved the old-fashioned donuts and the strawberry cake, donuts, crispy, and the good flavor of the bread, less sweet, but still delicious! A little more pricey than other locations but, overall a decent donut. I was surprised to see that their hours were from 4 AM to 4 PM until they run out of donuts. However, I'm happy that I took the time stop in. Will definitely be stopping by if I wake up early enough! read more

This is my GO TO donut shop. This is literally the standard that I hold all other donut shops to (sorry). I've been coming to Olympic since I was in elementary school... I'm not going to math how long that's been but it's been about 20 years ... My dad used to take me here as a kid to grab a quick breakfast before class and I would always always always get the breakfast sandwich. I never knew how BOMB this sandwich was until I started taking my friends from out of town here... needless to say, they're obsessed. So here are my go to orders whenever I stop by: - Breakfast sandwich (made with a croissant and lightly toasted to perfection with lettuce, egg, ham, mayonnaise and bacon) - Fish Sandwich (the fish is so so so flaky and one of the best fish sandwiches I've had) - Bacon Cheeseburger (my boyfriend's go to, the burger is so juicy and the buns are toasted to utter perfection) - French fries I know this is a donut shop and I also love their donuts but as a girl who doesn't have much of a sweet tooth, these are my particular go to's. My dad loves getting dozens of donuts from here and bringing it to his coworkers though! & I love the donut holes! Service with some laughs! I came here a couple of years ago to get some doughnut holes for an outdoor birthday party at a park. I figured that it would be a convenient snack... no need for a knife, silverware, or paper plates. Just grab and go! The doughnut holes turned out great! There's less mess since they are bite sized! This time, I needed some quick energy. I usually wake up hungry and want to eat as soon as possible before I get a headache. I dragged my friends with me and we all got some jokes from the owner. 04/15/2018 I've been here before because this donut shop has been here for ages. You used to be able to get burgers here but now it's just donuts. There is an ice cream case so you can make your choices. I doubt they would give you samples but I didn't ask. We were in here today because Nadine saw pictures of Panda donuts. Alana, Gloria, and I were along for the ride. Everyone got a donut for breakfast. Great road trip food. Get your coffee and lottery tickets here too. Powerball is at $112 million on this day. So, just a note if you happen to be reading my review and saw the Panda donut comment. Yes, they are cute in the pictures other people took. The owner says these are special orders or call in ahead of time. That means these donuts are not gonna sit on the shelf for hours or days like that other donut place. I've been coming here to buy my donuts for a long time. Their donuts are always fresh and fluffy. It's way better than those will known donut chains. Today when I bought my donuts, I was super happy when I saw these cute heart sprinkled glazed donuts. They had 2 kinds, chocolate or vanilla. I got 3 chocolate. I was in a hurry yesterday to try to make it to my friends "get together" party at his house. Normally when someone invites me to their home I was taught by my parents to always bring a gift out of respect. Because of the lack of time, I felt getting donuts was a great way to say "hello" hehe. I Yelped this donut spot and had a wonderful experience. There was ample parking lot shared with a Chinese market. As you walk in you are greeted with a friendly smile. For me I just wanted a dozen donuts and I had the server choose randomly for me. The owner gave me an extra one because he was being nice :) The cost was $10 flat, no tax or fees for using a credit card. Love this donut shop....situated in an old Tastee Freeze Building (with the high peaked roof) - I'm glad that they retained the old building when they opened this donut shop years ago. Family owned and ran by a nice asian family. Your typical donut shop with all the good basic stuff plus they also serve a burger here along with sandwiches plus your lottery center. TV mostly plays asian dramas - but sometimes they will put on a Laker game, etc. depending on who is there. Great Bear Claws and Cinnamon rolls. Always super friendly service which makes this shop a nice place to stop at in the morning. I guess if you are a smoker - there are plenty of tables outdoors with those old folger size coffee cans on them that act like ashtrays (go figure) but the place is kept clean. It instantly made me cry because they were beautifully made. The Asian cashier lady had a whatever attitude tho. She didn't even bother to give me tissues when I'm crying over their donuts! Rude. I bought 2 giant ass chocolate donuts to continue my marathon of HIMYM. They were not too shaggy, (rip shaggy 2014) but then made me feel self-conscious about my weight. I kept staring at the mirror and check myself out. The more I look at myself, the more sad I got ),: I couldn't bare to see myself anymore after 2 min of staring so I decided to take a dump, hoping that I would lose some weight. Woman in the front, I believe is the boss hates her job... Gives customers a big big attitude and mean. I came in specifically want a ham cheese croissant, it's my first time there. And she said $4.50 which on the menu is $2.95. I asked why is that and she said I was asking for something else not the ham cheese. So I said then there must be some mistake, and I want the ham cheese. There's a reason why this place dominates the corner of Lower Azusa and Temple City Blvd. There's a reason why they are one of the last of the oldest remaining businesses in Temple City. There's a reason why this place hasn't been muscled into a giant over bearing off white with off beige and white with a little beige and a little more off white 20.5 bedroom condominium that this city seems to be so fond of lately...CUZ ITS THAT GOOD! Yes, they even grill up a dynamite burger with fries. In the morning, if you drive by as often as I do, you will notice groups of people gathering for their morning coffee, donuts and talk. I stop by a few times a week for coffee and my fav devils food chocolate on chocolate. I see the same group/s of people each time so this place must be doing something right or they wouldn't have such a crowd each day. The owners, i'm assuming they are the owners, always have big smiles and hellos for everybody and they always remember what people like. If this place were any larger inside, it would remind me of those old diners where locals have been gathering forever. Its a nice atmosphere. I have never had a bad experience here.
