The donuts here are good and always consistent! They are very quick so the line usually goes by pretty fast. The interior is cozy and well loved. There are seats inside and usually taken up in the morning. There is a small parking lot on the side and also street parking. Staff is very friendly and always welcoming. One of my favorite donut shops. My family has been coming to this donut shop for longer than I can remember. It's one of the most affordable options for breakfast sandwiches and coffee. I usually get 4 breakfast sandwiches, 1/2 dozen donuts, and 1-2 ice coffees and the total is around $50. The donuts are delicious and they have a wide variety of options. They always have exceptional service and try to get your food out to you as quickly as they can. They also have created a very friendly environment and as you order there is always regulars coming in an out and having conversations with the staff. It really is a small business I'm happy to continually support. read more

The cashier was kind, she greeted me with a smile and informed me of their steal of a deal of 6 donuts for $8. Born and raised in Pasadena, i've been coming here for as long as i can remember and this Donut shop has always been my go-to. Super friendly staff with fast, consistent service. I always love getting the blueberry donuts and a strawberry kiwi smoothie. Never fails. Over all, Gladstone is an amazing donut shop loved by the locals. I'm from Chicago and they no longer sell buttermilk donuts in my city (as far as I can tell). I thought I could only find my favorite donuts at Poster's Donuts in Pasadena, CA. But, then I found Gladstone Donut House when Poster's was closed. Not only was Gladstone's open past 2pm (Poster's), it was open all day and evening! Plus, my fav donuts were there! The lady behind the counter was very sweet and generously when I told her I came all the way to Pasadena to find my fav donuts. She gave me two bonus donuts after I bought her remaining 4 glazed buttermilk donuts and 4 apple fritters. I'll definitely go back! read more

You wanted a great donut and this is the place. One of the best in SGV, if not LA. The apple fritter is exceptional - lots of apple chunks, not too sweet, crispy outside and edges and tender moist on the inside. *chefs kiss* More than the donuts, the service is incredibly exceptional. Friendly, kind, patient, thoughtful. AND, they survived pandemic and have been wonderful community supporters in the post-Eaton fire period. They are only 2 blocks away from burned down homes and buildings. I think the donuts here are comparable to most of the mom and shop places, you can get the classic donuts here, nothing different or special, but good old fashion donut. I think for a dozen plain donuts, for 14 dollars, is a but pricey. Cash only, and the staff can hurry you. I asked for a chocolate donut glazed donut, and she kept saying the maple, was chocolate... I have been eating donuts for a long time, and i know the difference between a chocolate donut and a glazed one. Im also bias, because i have been to a lot of donut shops, where the staff is super nice, like you buy a dozen, and they give you one extra or a couple donut holes, and this is not one of those shops..... I know they are family shop, but i think Pronto Donuts, or B&C Donuts in Pasadena, or Randys give you a better experience. Hands down the best kept donut secret in Pasadena. To be honest Gladstone has the best donuts I've had in the area. I had taken my car to get fixed and was looking for a nearby coffee shop to wait. I walked and walked and stumbled upon this shop. I was very pleasantly surprised. They have a great variety of pastries and donuts. They were out of blueberry donuts so i tried the crumb donut. It was so fresh and delicious! I also got a cappuccino - they offer vanilla or mocha. I tried vanilla but was a bit too sweet for my taste.i don't regret stumbling across here for their donut tho. It was great!! And the staff was so friendly. read more

I came here for the blueberry glazed donuts, and I was not disappointed. Never tried or even seen blueberry glaze at a mom & pop donut shop before, so I was super excited about that. They have multiple flavors of glaze that are less frequently offered, one that I saw that day was strawberry. I only tried the blueberry, though. My date just grabbed a donut that was eclair-shaped with chocolate frosting and no filling and a coffee. He noted that the chocolate glaze here is milkier than chocolate glazes elsewhere. As in not as dark, not in reference to the consistency. The coffee was good, I guess, as I didn't drink it and he finished it without commenting on it. Just remember to bring cash because it's cash only and I didn't check that before...thankfully I had just enough to cover it but I was about to be super disappointed. read more

Wow great donuts and super friendly service. Small family business that knows how to make perfect donuts. I LOVE donuts and am pretty picky when it comes to them. My go to is a simple glaze and for example I really dislike it when I can taste the oil it's fried in and theirs was PERFECT so fluffy and soft but has a nice outer layer. I still prefer buying my doughnuts at Gladstone. Yes, the price of a dozen donuts has increase since my first review but the quality has not decreased. A dozen runs about $13.00 and I still get that happy greeting and warm smile from the owner. read more

Omg these donuts are seriously bomb.... if you like soft, chewy donuts.... which I do! We had a fire safety workshop at my office a few months back and our building manager bought like 6 dozen donuts for everybody. My husband and I thought maybe they came from Winchell's and tried some donuts from there but nope, not the same. I emailed management asking where they got their donuts and she told me they came from Gladstone :) We went in yesterday morning and bought half a dozen to try some different flavors. The cinnamon roll bun thing is not included in the price of 1/2 dozen, but at $6.90 after tax for 7 BIG donuts, it's a steal. The two ladies working there were so friendly! Go early if you don't want to miss out on certain flavors as they do sell out by 11am. read more

Yes, the apple fritter is good. Real good, but not the best. The rest of the donuts are what you will find in any donut shops, none looked enticing enough, so i just went with the fritter. Prices well for the size at $1.30 it was huge, fresh, crunchy and filled with real apple chunks, nice. Service was very nice, there is a bit of inside seating and they serve coffee as well, worth the stop when in the area. read more

Clean neighborhood donut shop with a great selection. I was mostly here in a quest to satisfy my strange craving for an apple fritter, but once I was here picked up a several extra to bring to work as well. Thankfully my apple fritter pilgrimage was successful, and it was one of the most massive, juiciest, and perfectly glazed apple fritters I could've imagined. Generous glaze, succulent little apple pieces and nice crispy edges. Easily worth the short jaunt into north Pasadena, the apple fritter was everything my taste buds had ever wanted. The other donuts were solid - I'm sure some people would prefer this but I thought they were quite cakey and a bit scant on the icing. Still very fresh however and thankfully without that overly deep-fried nasty flavor. We cut them into small quarters so we could sample several, and my colleagues had no issues gobbling everything up. read more

I needed to pick up three dozen donuts for work and stumbled upon Gladstone Donut House on Yelp. I was here around seven in the morning and I only saw a handful of glazed donuts in the display case. I asked the woman behind the counter if they had anymore, but she only had 18 total. I had her box those up and fill in the rest with cake donuts. I also had her pack a bear claw and of course an apple fritter since all the Yelpers raved about it. The bear claw tasted like a crumb donut with apples inside. The apple fritter didn't disappoint! It was perfectly fried; the dough was moist and not too doughy or dry like other competitors. GDH gets their morning customers in and out efficiently and it seems to be a popular joint as they had a steady flow of foot traffic. GDH is located on the southeastern corner of Lake and Washington. They have a small lot in the back off of Washington and street parking out front. read more

Best donuts in Pasadena. This is a quintessential Los Angeles donut shop. Biting into their donuts is like biting into a fluffy cloud of sweetness. They taste so delicious. My absolute favorite is the glaze twist, then the chocolate glazed, but they have plenty of options, and also breakfast sandwiches. The service is so kind and pleasant. The ambiance is an old school donut shop from the early 2000s and the experience to having a donut as a kid. I've never been able to find a donut shop that tasted like they did from my childhood until coming here. If you like krispy kreme melt-in-your-mouth donuts, this place is even better because they're more airy and not overpoweringly sugary. I love this place! read more

They sell last month's donuts. The worst customer service ever! I walked into the store and found the color of donuts is a little abnormal. I asked the lady if the donut is fresh. The lady yelled to me "They are from last month". I suddenly don't know what to say. I am the customer and I have the right to ask if I saw the color is abnormal. The donut itself was a bit dry but the glaze on top overall saved the donut. I know gluten free treats are often drier than normal so my expectations weren't too high. This is a cute little spot to sit down and chat with friends. The inside is super clean and the silverware gave a nice afternoon tea feel. First of all, the donuts were absolutely delicious. Everything looked amazing, and what we tried definitely lived up to it. But what stood out to me even more than the donuts was the wonderful woman who helped me choose what to get. She was so warm, kind, and genuinely welcoming. She complimented the Christian shirt I was wearing, and from that moment, there was just something about her spirit that stood out to me. She had such a light about her, and she made me feel genuinely appreciated just for walking through the door. It was one of those small interactions that ends up meaning so much more than you expect. Before I left, I felt led to give her a little Jesus figure I had with me. It was such a sweet reminder that God can use even the simplest everyday moments--and even a stop for birthday donuts--to let His light shine through His people. God is good! The honey and spice combo was so good and the crust was perfectly crispy. The Rabbit Bolognese was also incredible, and tasted fresh and light instead of heavy like some bolognese can be. Our waiter gave us the pistachio tiramisu on the house for my mom's birthday, which was such a sweet gesture, and it was delicious! I love me some Apple Fritters & this place has the biggest & tastiest in Pasadena. Really sweet & friendly Asian woman working the front counter. Support local! Corporate giant McDonald's with their new "bakery" line-up does not need your $ & their muffins, cinnamon rolls, & apple fritters will never compare to the homemade quality & behemoths made my honest artisans just looking to make a decent living. We picked up some donuts and croissants for a work gathering and we all thought they were pretty good. The donuts are cheap (under a buck) and they were fresh. The store is a little old but they have a lot of selection for donuts and very easy to see and choose.
