It was 8pm in the evening when I stopped in, optimal time to visit a place with "AM" in the name, no? The building is on an elevated foundation with a convenient private parking lot right next to it. I stopped by hoping to try their croissants in my renewed exploration of local croissants around town. Here they had delicious turkey and cheese croissant with jalapeño, large in size and sufficiently packed. While there, I also decided to try their vegan donuts out of curiosity, both a simple glazed and a maple one. Honesty, the donuts very much like regular donuts, so job well done. The man behind the counter was friendly and was able to assist everyone that was there, maintaining small talk conversations and offering suggestions. Would definitely stop by again more treats.

A nice family owned shop with friendly costumer service. We were happy to find out they offer Vegan Donuts for those with dairy allergies. Which is great so my wife can enjoy some delicious donut options. The shop has a shared parking lot with neighboring business. Inside the donut shop, there's a handful of tables. We came in to grab some donuts to go. The staff were very kind and welcoming. Side note they also sell lotto and scratchers. The donuts were good and tasty. I've always been a fan of the old fashioned style donuts and the vegan donuts and donuts holes we ordered were good. We'd come by again to satisfy our donuts cravings when we find ourselves around this area again. ( ^_^)b

My to go spot for a ham/bacon, egg and cheese on an onion (everything) bagel. Their donuts are amazing and the best part is they have a vegan section! Prices are reasonable as everything is fresh. Service is fast and they take card. Plenty of parking available in their lot and street parking.

Left to right: apple fritter, strawberry cake, maple old fashioned

I visited on a Sunday at 8:45 am and parked in the back. The person who helped me out was super friendly and nice. They had a large selection of non-vegan donuts and a small section of vegan donuts that looked like the circular yeasted variety. I was able to pay with a credit card. SWEETS ORDERED - Bear Claw ($4). Delicious! The soft and flavorful dough had a crisp and lightly iced outer shell. It was generously filled with diced apples that had a good texture and concentrated apple flavor. The gooey part of the filling was not too sweet. - Old Fashioned ($2.50). The donut part was good: very soft and moist and almost creamy. However, the maple icing didn't have much flavor. It tasted like a sweet and crispy shell coating with a hint of cinnamon. - Strawberry Cake w/ Cream Cheese and Cake Crumble ($2.75). I got this because it seemed fun. It tasted like strawberry box cake mix, which was what I expected. But I guess I'm old now since it was too artificial for me. I enjoyed the texture nevertheless; it was soft, moist, and bouncier/chewier than a traditional cake donut. - Apple Fritter ($3.50). This one ended up being my least favorite. Although the outside was very crispy, the inside of the fritter was wet and mushy - perhaps due to the cinnamon swirled throughout the dough. I didn't taste the apple. SAVORIES ORDERED - Ham & Cheese With Jalapeño ($5.25). I put this croissant in the air fryer to crisp up the soft airy layers. The white cheese got nice and melty. It was very good, and I liked how there was filling in every bite. I tasted the jalapeno throughout, even though there weren't many pieces of it. - Spinach & Cheese ($3.50). The taste was okay, but the pastry was strangely thin and flat and somewhat mushy on the inside.

Highly recommended doughnut place when in the area. Like everyone else mentioned, this place offers vegan doughnuts which basically have no egg & milk ingredients which suits my food restrictions. Def vegan doughnuts won't be as soft and tender as normal doughnuts but still will satisfy your crave! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Since we came on early evening, the lady owner decided to give us a bonus doughnuts.

I stopped by to purchase our office pool Lottery tickets and exchange some winning tickets that I had with me. Donuts and gambling is what they offer here and they always have a constant flow of customers. The price of donuts have gone up just like everything else. The bear claw I picked out was filled with apple pieces and wasn't overly sweetened.

Vegan: blueberry, chocolate, strawberry cake donut, glazed

Food: 10/10 This place was perfect. It's very hard to find vegan doughnuts that aren't cake form. I had the blueberry, OG glazed, chocolate, strawberry (cake), and the doughnut holes. All perfect, no notes. Ambience: 10/10 Clean. Simple. This place not only has both, but they have SO MANY OPTIONS. I also love that they make it easy to know what's vegan. Rather than it being a small section that gets lost amongst the non-vegan doughnuts, there's a LARGE vegan section off to the side with its own menu. Service: 10/10 I went here twice when visiting in town and they were very welcoming, informative, and personable. The first visit, they even gave me a recommendation of additional vegan doughnut spots to checkout. I'll definitely come back here when in town.

Came here after dinner and although there weren't as much options , the options that were available were amazing ! Because there wasn't as much we got a pretty good bargain for a dozen because there weren't much left! Usually it would be $21 for a dozen and prices are different considering which donut you're getting but prices are very reasonable, the menu + prices is at the top but you should and can always ask for clarifications regarding their prices! But the person who was there gave us a great deal and we greatly appreciated that even though it wasn't necessary, it was really sweet of him. I forgot what we got but I remember getting red velvet, strawberry shortcake one, blueberry, banana cream one, bacon one, original sugar and so much more I forgot! We definitely ate them in the parking lot trying each flavor and they were all so delicious . Service was really attentive considering my boyfriend and him did strike a conversation about this donut shop and the place itself is just inviting and warm. They also have vegan options and seatings inside, definitely would come back and recommend !

Chocolate VEGAN DONUT!!! Just as delicious as regular donuts!!

Stopped by here before work. What stood out was that they opened at 4am and had vegan donuts!!! I tried a chocolate vegan donut and was highly impressed!! Wow!! It was really good and couldn't really taste a big difference between regular and vegan donuts!! Also tried 2 cake donuts (strawberry & red velvet). Both were delicious!! Yummm, that red velvet though!!! The vegan donut is a must try!!

Bomb donuts, great coffee. I especially enjoyed their strawberry cake donut and their crumb donut. Lovely and helpful person at the front, very welcoming atmosphere. Thank you for being a solid donut shop to frequent

I believe this is a family owned donut shop. The elderly lady was so friendly and welcoming. The donuts are fresh and delicious! Give this place a try if you're in the area.

Ask the Community - AM Donut & Yogurt

Do they have seasonal donut flavors? Like pumpkin?

Hi Megan - I am not sure as I am only out there in the month of June every year when I am visiting my family in Temple City. Sorry, I can't help you out on your question. Randy

Are there vegan donuts here?

Yes! They started serving vegan donuts and they are good!

Are these donuts vegan?

They just started serving vegan donuts! They have a handful of different kinds. Majority are still non vegan but the vegan ones are great!

Can u pay cash?

Sure! I think they take most payments except bitcoin.

At $20 for a dozen, the donuts are an excellent value, especially given their generous size. Since they're only open in the mornings and tend to sell out quickly, I'd recommend stopping by early. The setup is simple and old-school, with the donuts arranged in a glass display case and orders taken through a small service window off to the side. Street parking is available nearby, making it fairly easy to grab a box to go. During our visit, the owner was incredibly friendly and even surprised us with complimentary donut holes and a croissant, which made for a great first impression. **Cinnamon Crumb Donut: 5/5** This raised donut was incredibly light and fluffy, with a soft, airy interior. A delicate vanilla glaze provided a subtle sweetness, while the buttery, cinnamon-spiced streusel on top brought a warm, aromatic depth to each bite. **Double Trouble: 5/5** True to its name, the Double Trouble delivered an especially indulgent flavor combination. A smooth chocolate icing coated the pillowy donut, lending a cocoa-forward richness, while a second layer of classic glaze added a mellow, sugary finish that rounded out the decadent flavor profile. Given the impressive quality of everything we tried, Monarch Donuts is well worth a visit. With so many options to choose from, I'd gladly return to try some of the other donuts that caught my eye.

Donuts are displayed behind the glass window. Ordering is done through a small window opening. There is no customer entrance inside the shop. Upon arrival, Jonathan, the owner, offered me a warm welcome. He was very friendly and nice. He shared his humble beginnings on how Monarch Donuts began. Thank you Jonathan for sharing your loving story about your mom and grandmother. I was the only person in line which worked out for me. A few customers arrived shortly after me. All donuts and apple fritters were carefully boxed. I appreciate the special attention and care in the packaging. Thanks! Overall donuts were good, but dough was a bit dense for my taste though. Apple fritters were a great hit! Huge in size. Light in crisp. Tons of apples. Not super sweet which I appreciate it. However, a few of them fell apart when picking them up from the box. I actually don't know how much each donut and apple fritter costs. I didn't ask which was fine. Total bill was about $90+ which wasn't bad at all especially for all the tasty goodness. Highly recommend! Love to return for more tasty apple fritters and cinnamon crumbles. From what I was informed, donuts and all may be sold out before 9:00 AM most of the time so do get here early before they run out. Happy Donut Always!

The creamers are stored to the side with ice packs. There are other drinks in a fridge and snack options to the side of the register. The blueberry donut is really good. I've also enjoyed their custard filled donut which was full of custard. If you order a ham and cheese croissant, they cut it in half and heat it up for you, which is a nice service. The cheese inside is really good. The interior is pretty small, but there's some seats if you want to sit down and have your breakfast. We always get ours to go. On our most recent visit they were having a fundraiser for their friend that perished in the Monterey Park shooting. So glad to have this staple in the neighborhood and to have a small business to support! Highly recommended little breakfast spot :)

When we walked in on a Sat around 2 it was pretty quiet. The man behind the counter was ready to take our order right away. I am a plain Jane glazed donut kind of gal. There were lots of choices that would likely be exciting for some, like the maple bacon or the pistachio crusted with frosting. My hubby had a chocolate frosted & I went with my tried & true good old glaze & raised. There's no indoor seating but there were plenty of tables and chairs with giant umbrellas for shade outside. The weather was warm but not unbearable so we sat and immediately dove into our donuts. Verdict-didn't blow my mind. It wasn't as moist as other glazed donuts I've had for sure. Really quite mediocre which surprised me. I had heard so much hype about this place for years and it was mind of a let down TBH. Maybe there no way it could live up to the expectations I had. But even my husband who isn't nearly as particular as I am wasn't wildly impressed. So would I go back, can't say I would. I am very selective about my calorie splurge and this was just not the trip to Disneyland my taste buds were hoping for.
