Doughnuts are good but have recently gotten a lot smaller. They seem to be around 1-1.5" smaller than other places now. Prices are reasonable, service is fine. Cash only and no ATM nearby so make sure you have cash. read more

My first photo is from my first visit. The donut is really good. The coffee is hot brewed coffee that you can self serve do up with cream / sugar. But i like to eat the donut and then take a swig of coffee and it is.... well now my second photo is from right now where i have returned not 2 days later :) i had appts nearby and walked around to see if i could try anything else but found myself back here! the service is fast, kind and good. I'm people watching a bit and a lot of people (if not all) come to the window, grab their quick donuts and coffee and head out. the staff is lovely! i hope I'll try the other donuts, maybe I'll have to take a dozen to share, but for my fave so far it is the old fashioned glaze donut *lots of parking, big lot *cash only *no bathroom *DO COME read more

Pronto - Glazed old fashion !!! And large coffee - Donuts Near Me - Pasadena, California

Came here for a sandwich but they only had ham and cheese which is fine. 3 bits into my sandwich and I noticed something in there was bad. It had a sour taste to it. Take it back and the girl gave me my money back right away. I'm not leaving a one-star review because the food is bad. I'm leaving at 1 star review because the girl made me feel like it was my fault the food was bad. I hate bad service! I was even being very polite and respectful but didn't get the same in return. I've always passed this place on my way to the UPS store, and I consider myself a donut connoisseur but since it's Cash Only and I rarely carry cash I never had a chance to stop but today was different! I went to the outdoor window and the owner was kind and efficient in taking my order. I ordered a Raised Glaze, Maple and a Glaze Buttermilk, Chocolate Old Fashioned and two Strawberry Sprinkle Cakes for the kid. These donuts were all fresh! The buttermilks which I rarely get if ever were moist and crisp at the same time, I may add to my rotation of donuts now. The raised glaze was fluffy and sticky as it should be. I'll be returning! read more

Got a double hamburger combo with thai tea and chocolate donut for 17 and change., worst burger ever! The meat was rubbery and seemed expired, no taste and disgusting texture, never experienced such a terrible burger in my life, the fries were okay but not salted. Thai tea was good. I was skeptical, the Asian young guy who took my order was kinda insecure with me like if I'm going to flirt with his girlfriend/co worker, he was super close to her and being all touchy . Weird experience, the vibes and food were awful and im never coming back again.....maybe just a donut and Thai tea. Damn I should of taken pictures, oh well I forgot my phone, I just wanted a quick bite to eat. read more

Best donuts in Pasadena. They don't over-glaze the donuts to make them sickly sweet like other places. The insides of the donuts are fresh and moist. They only take cash, though, and can run out of some donut varieties in the afternoon. read more

Pronto Donuts serves up fresh, old-school deliciousness that'll have you hooked! Get there early for the hot, top picks. staff's super friendly, and there's a cozy dine-in spot inside. I usually grab-and-go which is super convenient with all the parking. Cash only, so plan ahead! read more

Thought I'd provide some up to date pics for this fantastic small biz! I accidentally entered through the front door not realizing that you order at the little window. They were somewhat concerned LMAO. The man running the window was super nice & very helpful/patient. He was also rockin a lil face mask & we stan a conscious king. The prices here cannot be beat either. My box was $7 & the donuts were really good. No gimmicks. Just the classics. read more

Super disappointed! I'm cutting back but occasionally have a treat . This morning around 7am I stopped by for an old fashioned and it's stale . Really good jalapeños ham and cheese croissants. Big mountain of jalapeños on the inside. Fluffy and flaky croissants

Have been going here for a long time. Last few times it was closed. Went today and there was someone working there who had never been there before. Ordered a cinnamon roll and a buttermilk maple bar. We ate them after leaving. The "cinnamon roll" was a stale and heavy apple fritter and the other was not the usual delicious buttermilk maple bar. Does anyone know if this business has a new owner? Very disappointing read more

After a Cub Scout home this morning, my sons wanted donuts. Yeah, I know they were overdue for lunch and yes, I realize it was 12:16 P.M. and as a matter of fact, I WAS runner up for Father of the Year. Donuts build character, look it up on Google Scholar. Anyhow, we pulled into the lot and I sent my 11 year old in with a $10 bill. This place only likey cash money, but we're not purchasing a Boston Whaler or applying for a Line of Credit at East West Bank... we're buying a little fried dough. My kid came out empty handed a minute later, reporting back that they were pretty much out of donuts. They had a few glaze and chocolate glaze bars, but not what we.... um, I mean my kids... were looking for. Walk up window open stupid early, and apparently, they sell out. So there you go. read more

*Note: As a connoisseur of what I call Crack, let me make one simple point. I have a soft spot for Pronto. I grew up a block away and remember walking there with my Grandpa! 30 years later and I can now take my kids! Such great memories! Anyway, on to the donuts. I can't really complain, minus it being cash only. The donuts are fresh and moist! The employees are always welcoming. This place has seriously been around for 50(?) years and you can definitely tell from the inside/decor. Surprisingly, they did a great job at the upkeep and it is still in pretty good shape. I wish they would do some remodeling , but hey, it's worked for them this long. read more

Very good neighborhood donuts! Been coming here since 2012! Consistent in making good quality donuts!

Donuts are hands down one of my favorite foods. With that being said I can be very picky when it comes to donuts. I have been looking for a reliable, go-to donut shop near my house. I'm all for those trendy donut shops with crazy creations but sometimes I just want a classic. The first donut I ever tried here was a glaze twist. If a donut shop can't make a good basic glaze then I usually don't trust that the rest would be good. A regular glaze is plain and boring, I know. But it is honestly one of my favorites. When I think of donuts I think of this classic. It was also my favorite as a kid. Well after one bite I knew this place was going to be my go to. It was for one, huge, and fluffy. It was so soft and just covered in glaze. It was honestly the best and in my opinion better than Donut Man. Little by little I've tried more selections and with everyone my taste buds are in heaven! Like most places, the donuts are best in the morning when they are fresh. It's a small donut shop and so I don't expect them to be making a ton throughout the day. There is a decent amount of seating inside. Sign says cash only and I've never tried to pay with a card. So play it safe and bring cash. The outside window is so convenient for an on the go pick up. In my opinion, this is a reliable place. I have never had a problem with the service as I've seen other reviews mention. They are always polite and quick to serve. I recommend them to anyone looking for a simple, tasty reliable, donut. read more

Worst donuts I've ever had. I didn't even finish my donut. Yup that bad. This place has no drinks or sandwiches to choose from. It had an already made ham and cheese sandwich and coffee that's it. My favorite donuts. There are closer donut shops to me, but Pronto makes some of the tastiest donuts I've ever had. Great prices too and friendly staff. I love walking up the hill to get a bag of donuts for my family on a sleepy Sunday morning. Can't wait to go back next weekend. read more

My fave donut shop in the world! Consistent for the past 8 years!! Very good hot chocolate too!!

Good donuts but when I went yesterday, Thursday, at 645p they were closed. Hours here say 11p, Google says 9p. I didn't see hours posted on their door/window. So consistent business hours would be nice so we're not driving over there to a closed donut shop read more

I had to run next door to the UPS Store and drop off a package -- and one of the rituals that I partake of is that of getting a few donuts from Pronto's to go. I usually go for the Apple Fritters, Cinnamon Roll, Crumb Cinnamon Roll, etc. This time, however, I opted for their Glazed Buttermilk donuts and they were amazing and cost .80 cents each (or roughly that much). They were amazing -- my new favorites. They get a lot of business and there may or may not be folks outside of the window waiting to place an order. It's a "cash only" establishment -- they right next door to Connal's and next door to the UPS Store by the parking lot where the Rite-Aid is at. read more

They almost never run out of donuts. They price their donuts fairly (i.e., ridiculously damn cheap). They almost always have my delicious raspberry-jelly filled donut on hand. They didn't laugh too hard when I got overly excited looking at the donuts and bonked my head on the glass. read more

Pronto's offers great donuts at great prices. Many summer nights I will come here with friends (literally groups of 15 or more) and get some donuts as a late night snack. There is a handy little walk-up window that stays open late and allows easy access for donut sales. I would suggest the maple buttermilk donut: it's the best donut I've ever eaten. It's dense yet light, and offers an amazing sweet maple taste. I'm sure all of their donuts are great, but that is my favorite. The service can be pretty rough, but when you bring a big group to buy donuts, I'm sure it's stressful for the one worker who is working that late at night. read more

OMG Pronto's! My aunt used to live pretty close to Pronto's and on my way home (about 2 miles away) my mom would take my sister and me to Pronto's for their orange chicken. We were ADDICTED. Eventually my mother and her unique tactic of raising her five children brought home a catering size foil pan of orange chicken and said we can eat it every day for dinner as long as it lasted... we got through 2 meals of it and were DONE with Pronto's and their orange chicken As for their donuts, they will do... the last time I had a donut from pronto's a 20 year old guy was buying me and my 16 year old high school friends donuts...I guess there are worse things teenagers could have been doing besides eating donuts from strangers. Til this day I still can only stomach small portions of orange chicken. read more

Normally I'm not picky when it comes to service (it's a donut shop, what do you expect?), but I was truly horrified at how awful the "service" was at this donut shop. It was so awful that it was actually laughable. I went one night with a couple of friends to pick up some donuts for a midnight snack. The employee who was working there was busy preparing donuts when we arrived to order from the window. We weren't sure what we wanted yet, and we were trying to decide which donuts to buy. Instead of waiting patiently for us to make a selection like we expected, the man running the shop literally SCREAMED at us to hurry up and choose because he was so busy making the donuts. I'm not exaggerating. He was literally YELLING at us. "Hurry up! You talk or you buy Donuts?!?!" was one thing he yelled. He was getting more and more annoyed that we weren't deciding, so we kept trying to tell him "It's okay.. go cook your donuts! We'll wait here and decide and you can come back in a few minutes." But he just kept yelling at us. We really wanted donuts and everywhere else was closed, so we finally made hasty decisions and left. Rude much? Besides, Gladstone Donuts down the street is much friendlier, and has better donuts anyway! read more

I used to walk here from my Grandma's house with 50 cents in my pocket. That was over 25 years ago. I can still can. This place is a sometimes Chinese take out and a full time donut walk up. The donuts are not greasy, they are fluffy and moist and the cake donuts are soo good you'll are glad you walked here in the first place. read more

Pronto - Grandma bought me a dounut. - Donuts Near Me - Pasadena, California

As others have noted, their donuts are bigger than usual, and also less oily/greasy. This is a huge plus, since this is the main thing that sets most donut places apart from others. The apple fritters are, as best I can recall, the biggest I've ever had. The donuts, as far as taste and texture, are solid. They're not over-fried (a problem especially common when it comes to fritters). I don't know that donuts can be mind-blowingly good, but if that's possible, these donuts probably don't quite hit that mark. There is absolutely nothing offensive about them -- again, they're good, solid donuts. They have good hours (open early, close at 11 even on weeknights). They only take cash. There is plenty of free parking for access to the complex. The service is quick and, like the donuts, bears nothing ot take offense at. Overall, a solid donut place you can safely suggest to friends and family. The large sizes especially make this a better-than-average shop. There's nothing to write home about here, but for your donut needs, it's certainly a good choice. The fifth star is withheld only because there might be a truly extraordinary donut shop out there which this one does not quite compare to. But the missing star is in no way a reflection of any deficiency of Pronto's. read more

I go to this Pronto joint, it is late. It is so late it is 10:35 PM. LIM, the only person ever working here is a short man from another country than my home of Russia. He makes delicious donuts. I walk up to the window and LIM continues to make donuts in the back even though I am waiting for close to 5 minute. Hello? I know you are much working but please let me in! Hunger has come over me! Thank you for coming to window. I got maple buttermilk for 75c. It is tasty and thick. Subtle overtones of milk. I appreciate. Goodnight LIM, don't work too hard. read more

I've been here a few times in the past... I have had the same experience every time... and only go here because it is so convenient. The donuts are good, but the coffee is not the freshest, and the service is crap. I give it 3 stars because the donuts are decent. The guy behind the counter is rude... Well, I should mention that it could be a cultural thing because he is Vietnamese, but my old donut spot on the Newport peninsula was ran by a Vietnamese family and they were the nicest people ever, but I digress... I wouldn't say not to go there, but if you like a lil pep with your coffee and donuts then you can find better IMO. read more
