    a variety of food

We decided to eat here after a long day at Disney looking for some comfort food & Si Gol did not disappoint! It's a very mom & pop type of restaurant. Service was very friendly & orders were taken and served pretty quickly. The food was so delicious! Everything was definitely salted on the tamer side compared to a lot of other Korean restaurants, but still very yummy. The banchan was some of the best banchan I have ever tasted. I can't wait to try more of the menu in the future!

It's so delicious. It's fantastic if you eat with noodles. and the steamed dumplings too delicious. I recommend it.

This place is hands down does the best jokbal! It comes with alot of lettuce on the side to wrap the jokbal with. Its a mom and pops older couple who runs the place I think so I think they totally mastered the jokbal. So good, I cant go anywhere else but here now lol.

Store Hours. Used to have early hours, but they said not enough customers early so they start later now.

what I consider real home cooking! simple, clean, 100% authentic. I've seen the family who run this business sit down and eat their own food here during their break. I wish they were closer to me

Mudfish stew ($7.99) - Mild yet off-putting at the same time. Definitely an acquired taste.

A couple of days I had come to eat at Jangkumyine but they were so busy that even at 1 pm. they had a 30 minute wait so I decided to try out Si Gol Korean Restaurant which was a couple of doors away in the same strip mall. Upon entering Si Gol I found that it was about 40% full which I took as a good sign. Unlike Jangkumyine at Si Gol you have to order at the counter and then take a seat at an open table where your food will be delivered. This took a little bit of figuring out via sign language with the server/runner which was cool as I've come to expect some amount of confusion when going to new Korean restaurants. I think I got the mud fish stew which was around $8. Like all other Korean restaurants this is served with about 5-6 side dishes (banchan) and a bowl of rice. The stew lacked the intensity of soon dubu and turned out to be pretty mild yet off-putting at the same time. I feel that the taste for this dish could be acquired if it is eaten a couple of times but is avoidable if you are easing into Korean food. The banchan were not even close to the quality of what you can expect in Jangkumyine. They were not bad, it's just that the bar has been set so high by Jangkumyine that they fell short. Overall I was satisfied with what I ate, but I'm not sure if I would come back as there are much better options available in the area.

    So hearty!!!

My mom and my favorite place to go for hearty Korean. We love the choo err taang so much. Probably the best choo eer taang you can find in CA. My mom has a North Korean background and she says it taste just like how my grandma made it.. They also pick their own squashes and other veggies in their own garden.. so so yummy!! How to eat the soup: put lots of vegetables and put lots of wild seseme grounded (I put a big spoonful) and very small amt of dried herbs. Enjoy with finely diced garlic and jalapeno..

Great place. They grow all leafy veggies and hot peppers. Extremely nice. We ordered choo-er-tang. (Not sure what its called in English.) so tasty! The owners also gave our children korean yogurt drinks. They were very helpful and kept checking if we or our children needed anything(plates, forks, extra rice etc.) would definitely go back once we are around!

    Side dishes and muddle stew
    Eun C.

muddle stew with no muddle fish . They said they blended the fish inside but the soup is so clear. That other star is only for side dishes. Idk other food looks good but idk if i will come back. Price seems okay. But the fact that their main dish was not there best tells me something. The owner was on the phone all day. Not attentative. She didnt give enough change to tip her so i had to ask for ones. Its the little things that makes business

I just found this place on Yelp and loving it! This place has Chueotang(mudfish stew)! You really don't taste the mudfish and it's not fishy at all. It's low calorie and very nutritious food. I was in Seoul last month and I had it and loved it. So when I found this place, I needed to try it. It was just like in Korea. Their side dishes were fresh and tasty. I just wish they open later at nights. (I think this place closes at 9:30PM. If you are looking for traditional healthy Korean restaurant, this is diffenately the place

The courses are all very delicious and special that not all the Korean restaurant would offer. Among all I've tried 5 out of 6 are amazing. Strongly recommend to go!

nice small restaurant with a very simple Korean food. fast and freindly service. home grown organic vegetables are a plus!

Mudfish stew and cold bean noodle soup, loved the banchan side dishes
    Lindsey N.

Si Gol Chueotang is a small hole in the wall Korean place with a small and affordable menu. I was greeted in Korean and luckily after living in Korea for a year I am no longer intimidated by this! If you aren't familiar with korean food than this place is probably going to be an adventure for you, but they do have staples like bulgolgi and dumplings. My friend ordered the Chueotang which is what they are known for, he specifically wanted to try mudfish stew and was not dissapointed. I had the cold Kong guksu which is a creamy soy bean noodle soup. I loved their fresh kimchi and banchan (side dishes). They even had an eggplant dish, which is not common in most popular korean restaurants. We also ordered a plate of mandu (meat dumplings) they were fresh and delicious as well. I will definitely be back if my friend ever gets a craving for mud fish stew again.

It's in a small, almost empty-ish plaza, but it's a little mom-and-pop gem. Ambiance (5/5): Walk right in and you'll see that it's on the small side, but a cute and simple restaurant with family vibes. Depending on the time of day, it can feel somewhat empty while at other times somewhat busy. Service (3/5): It's nothing too special, but the workers are always friendly. It's somewhat self serve. You order at the front and then you wait for them to call your order. Then you pick up your tray of food, eat, and place the trays towards the front when done. Food (5/5): Everything we have eaten here over the years is so yummy. Their hot stone bibimbap is chock-full of ingredients with just the right amount of sesame oil and flavor; we often have to pack some of it to go. Their army stew (budaejigae) is my absolute favorite, and I've compared it to a lot of other Korean stew places, some way pricier and this one still takes the cake. It has a wonderful roasted flavor from all the meats they put in and I love going for the ramen first. I always take extra to go since it's small but filling. The best part? Let's not forget that they have self serve all-you-can-eat banchan (side dishes) and they do not skimp on variety. There's your usuals like the napa kimchi, radish kimchi and fish cakes, but they also have mac salad, potato salad, japchae and other goodies which works well for your picky toddlers. Overall, this is a wonderful little restaurant that deserves a visit over and over when you're just craving some comfort korean food at decent prices.

I highly recommend the seafood pork bone soup noodle because it was super tasty, but be aware that mild is still kind of spicy. The lady in the front was strict but reasonable, just like any real place should be. Customers were mostly family they knew the place and chatted with the boss. The atmosphere is very simple with tables that you can sit anywhere.

We ordered the following: Bulgolgi Fries Garlic Steak Noodle Egg Cheese corn Ranking in best to so-so, I'd have to say is the steamed egg. Yes, I was surprised too. I thought the Bulgolgi fries would be number one. Sadly it's not. If you mess up steamed egg, ima gonna say no to the rest of your menu. I would order two next time and just stick to that. The cheese corn was okay, but compared to PaDak and other local Korean spot I say skip this. The cheese tasted weird to me and I did t like that it was also a kraft American cheese. As a cheese lover, I only expect that square cheese to be on a burger or cheese melt. The Bulgolgi Fries could serve 3 people. But it was drenched with sauce, and spicy sauce. Not enough Bulgolgi to pay $20. The cut of fries were this nd tasted like sweet potato. It just didn't fit my taste buds. The Garlic noodle okay. That's Al I have to say about that. I'm glad I finally tried this place, but I don't know if I would come back for anything on their menu. I would rather go next door or across the street.

My mom also tried this place and recommended it, so I felt confident this would be a spot I would be coming often. We ordered the naengmyeon combo with spicy marinated pork and a side of soybean paste stew. The lady was nice when she seated us, but seemed a little bothered when we only ordered the above items, because she coldly asked "if that was all" and we said yes. She walked away then yells back asking if we wanted rice because rice wasn't included, and we said no. Despite the rough start with the vibe of the lady who took our order I was still hopeful the food itself would make up for it. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. I've never had naengmyeon that had so much chili flakes, and as someone who doesn't mind them, it was weird. The soybean paste soup was bland. And the side dishes were just okay. After the meal, I got really thirsty and my face was puffy so they are using msg. If it was a good meal, I wouldn't have minded the msg, but for food that was mediocre at best was not worth it. Although I won't be back, I did see people ordering for take out nonstop, so there must be some other dish that is giving them customers.
