I brought my dad here for his birthday, he has had a hard time finding good wings in the area and this place popped up as having "the best wings in Columbus" so I figured we would give it a shot. All the food coming out of the kitchen looked good, the wings were really good. I got the garlic parm and he got the teriyaki we ordered them crispy and they were perfect. There was only 1 girl working the dining room but she kept on top of it and we never had any issues with getting her attention if we needed anything. This is just a little dive bar, so nothing fancy but it had a cozy vibe and a family feel. There were a decent amount of families in there, and when we were finishing up there was a group of young soccer players with parents coming in. I stopped in and tried the pizza and got a to-go pie and some chicken Alfredo. This is a cool bar/restaurant. The staff were awesome. Pizza - Small Pacer and a large Buckeye pizza (to-go). Pacer was cheesy by design. It had great flavor. M Buckeye pizza - it was good but not my speed. The topping coverage was not like the Pacer (I should have taken a picture). Chicken Alfredo was a hit in the house. Everyone loved it. I am going to go back when I am in the area just to see if it was a one-off on the pies because of the ratings. Shorty's location opened and it was North Upper Arlington adjacent. In our years in UA we've worked around the area, found some good, some very good, but no great Pizza options. Shorty's used to be my favorite pizza place around Delaware, we would order from there almost every Friday night. Haven't ordered from them as often lately as the food quality at the Delaware location seems to be going down hill. Decided to try again this past Friday and it will probably be the last time. Ordered a 12 inch mushroom and sausage pizza and 6 of their wings, which I had never had before. First the pizza, of the 12 inch diameter pizza, the cheese and toppings covered about 8 inches, which basically means I paid 18 bucks for an 8 inch pizza, pictures attached. Don't get me wrong, if you are a big fan of dough, crust, and tomato sauce, this is the pizza for you. I, on the other hand, prefer my pizza with toppings that actually cover the whole pie. As for the wings, I guess you better be a fan of drumettes because that is apparently all they have. Ordered 6 wings and got 6 drummettes, picture attached. I, unfortunately, enjoy the wingettes more than the drummettes. I would rate the taste of the wings a 4 out of 10. I ate two of them and threw the rest away. I don't know if they are cutting back on the amount of toppings and skimping on quality to help fund their two new locations, but this is definitely not the Shorty's I started out with. Pizza was absolutely fantastic. We got the pacer pizza with double pep and double cheese, we also added extra sauce. They cooked it perfectly and the cheese around the edges was nice and carmelized. My wife said the hot wings were even better than the superb pizza, huge meaty wings and yes just a little hot. You can get them breaded or naked and we went with naked and wow, very tasty. I usually get there pizza because I love the crust and the sauce and the toppings are good sometimes alittle on the light side but still a winner in my book! Recently, we picked up take out during this crazy COVID-19 times because we were crazy some awesome pizza. Well they had all guests pay by phone and they would come deliver your order to you, so you didn't even have to come inside if you didn't want to. If you did come inside, you went in one door and out another. They had you pay over the phone so you barely had to touch anything inside if you didn't want to. My top recommendations: their pizza, speciality pizzas: the cheeseburger pizza without a doubt, their chicken Alfredo, their side salad with ranch, and finally their cheesy bread. Just moved here from Georgia and decided to try out a different pizza place. My go to has been Del-Co but they had an hour wait for pickup last night so went with another popular place that was mentioned in a FB group. The wait time for pickup was 50 minutes, we got there at 40 minutes and it was ready. The pizza was cut similar to Del-Co but the cheese was not covering any of the end pieces. Received a free medium 1 topping pizza coupon in a "welcome to Delaware" package. We are new to the area and still looking for perfect pizzeria. At first look we had high hopes our search was over but sorry to say I was wrong. The edges of pie were good but the middle was soggy and almost wet on bottom. The taste was not fresh at all. It could be they have pre made "free" pizzas that we frozen that they use for the free ones, not sure, but this wasn't the "fresh" homemade pizza I was hoping for. You may feel it's wrong to complain about a FREE pizza but I see this promotion as a chance to bring in new customers and show them why they need to be ordering from from your restaurant. Instead it left me saying "I'm glad we didn't pay for that". Not sure if we will give them a 2nd chance. We did ask when ordering if we could change it to large and pay the difference but was told no. The coupon only was good for a medium. This is why I feel they have special pizzas for the free ones. They are always busy they have a nice selection of beers and wine and usually some type of horse race on the big screen. I had Shorty's recently at the Powell location. I got it take out and it was good. We got the works on the pizza, I think it was called the MVP. There were a lot of toppings but because of either all of the toppings or because it sat in my car on the short drive home, the middle of the pizza was soggy. It was still good, just soggy! I'm a big fan of Shorty's pizza! The price is a little higher than chains but the quality is amazing. Be aware, if you get a lot of toppings on a large, you may end up with a soggy crust...I don't think their oven is hot enough. Stick with medium and you'll be golden, the crust is absolutely amazing so it's a shame to get one that is soggy. The pasta is average...salad ok. Stick to pizza. The pizza had a good flavor, medium crust, fair amount of cheese and toppings. Pepperoni had a kick to it. It was about $16+ for a one topping. The chicken alfredo was awful. The sauce was watery and flavorless. The salad that came out before it had huge chunks of iceberg that were not even broken apart. Ten bucks wasted. Service was abrupt, no charm there. Had to keep going back to the cashier/bar and wait to be noticed for more silverware, plates, etc. Not sure if I will ever go back to try a sub. Their sign "voted best italian" is a joke.
