    Fried chicken sandwich and fries
    Cortney M.

I happened to be at Staas-where this truck seems to be coming weekly on Thursdays- and the couple behind me ordered some food. It looked and smelled so good I had to give it a try. I got their fried chicken sandwich. It was a good size and fair price. The bun was nice and soft and the chicken crispy and moist. It came with coleslaw on top which I really enjoyed. It came with a side of french fries. The fries had this great seasoning on it. It was like a sweet Indian type spice. Not entirely sure but really tasty. I would definitely try this truck again. I would like to try their spicy version of the chicken sandwich.

New food truck with a great menu!

What a nice new food truck to hit Columbus! We were finishing off our Ale Trail at I'll Mannered when we saw this truck and had to check out the menu. We just wanted a snack and ordered the fundido fries and were blown away! Awesome sauce, the fries were seasoned well and crisp and the chef was super friendly! The back story on the truck- the chef is from the Akron area, moved into Columbus and started the truck. He was very interested in our thoughts on the food and great to talk to. Check this truck out on the street food website!

Onion rings (which is a big sharable size!) And the Cajun Shrimp Tacos.

Best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. Everything was excellent. My wife loved the shrimp tacos. This is a nice find!

Backstretch is super casual (given Ohio Wesleyan is nearby - its almost a college/town bar) but great to come in a sit at the bar or one of their booths. It isnt big, maybe 15-20 bar stools and 12 booths and 1-2 tables. This time we picked a booth and a great server (Jacobi) helped us right away. Fun part of backstretch is the staff. Servers are friendly, you can watch the cooks prepare your food, and they have a full bar. Note they dont have many draft beer options, but servers tried hard to get us something we liked. Food here is fresh off the grill and tastes like home cooked food - from their Reuben(which was amazing) to Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich (has kick but so good) - you cant go wrong. This time we added Tots, Mac and Cheese, and the Deviled eggs (most sandwiches are served with a deviled egg - tasty). We also tried Jacobi recommendation of Hencock Tots - wing sauce - cheese and bacon. Should have just made that my meal. Amazing. They dont take reservations but unless there is an event in downtown, you can usually walk in for dinner. This was our third visit in 60 days! Ready to go back - thanks Jacobi for a fun night and see you all soon.

And I think that might have been our downfall. We went the breakfast route and started with a Cinnamon roll made right on the griddle. It created this crispy char that gave the roll more of a funnel cake texture. Unique, and the icing definitely enhances it (as it does most cinnamon rolls). Their special breakfast sandwich, "The Morning Wake-up" touts a "2x the size English Muffin" and they were not lying. This sandwich had cheese, multiple meats and vegetables, and I needed to take half of it home due to sheer size. What it didn't have... sauce. What it needed... sauce, syrup, aioli or something to lubricate all of those toppings. The breakfast potatoes on the side needed salt/seasoning/sauce, too, to be more to my liking. It was a similar experience with my wife's Reuben and the fries that she ordered; the sandwich had its moments, but it made me wish one of us got a burger like most of the other patrons.
