Two of us shared the #1 Wavy Bundle for $18.49 which includes kimchi butter Katsu (we got spicy) with rice and Mac salad, 2 pieces of bruleed spam musubi, and a fountain drink. The combo helps you save about $1-2 vs the separate items. The spicy kimchi butter Katsu had a delicious, spicy sauce. It isn't overwhelmingly spicy but has a kick. The flavor wasn't distinctly kimchi, however, so having kimchi on the side would be awesome! The Mac salad is a bit tuna-y for my taste, but it was still good. The addition of sesame seeds/furikake on the rice and chicken was appreciated. The bruleed spam musubi was tasty but nothing special. I wish the mayo was throughout. I liked that there was plenty of Shootz-only seating, both inside and on a private section of the patio, so you can definitely get a seat if the public market is busy. Kimchi Butter Katsu: This definitely strays from a traditional chicken katsu, but no complaints! The kimchi butter makes the katsu so flavorful, so you don't need to eat it with any sauce. I'm pretty weak with spice, but I get the spicy and I would say it's equivalent to a mild or maybeeee medium spice. I also love this dish because oftentimes eating katsu makes me feel pretty gross after LOL but this one is perfect. Spam Brulee Musubi: These are topped with kimchi aioli that's then bruleed. I love the extra flavor the aioli gives and the crunch from the brulee. My only complaint with these is that there's a bit too much sauce for my liking, but I think that's more of a personal preference thing. If you come here on a weekend or when Rodeo39 is hosting a market, definitely expect a LONGGG LINE. Luckily the food comes out pretty quickly once you order, but I recommend ordering online to avoid the wait for the register. Could have been pickled red onions, pickles, a slaw, something anything. I see some other reviews where they felt it was balanced with their drink, but the drink I chose was Coco water, which is just sweet. So it felt a little tough to savor the meal without a means to refresh the palate. It was the main part of the plate and it needed to shine, but it did not, The Mac salad was disappointing, it was completely bland. For the price point, I wanted the food to be much more flavorful. The area is really busy, there's an In N Out in the same plaza and a Canes on the other side. Parking was very challenging for a weeknight. It took me about 10 minutes of circling around in the far parts of the lot to find a spot. Inside Rodeo 39 was some sort of game night. I'm just guessing but I might not be the target demographic here hahaha.
