Solid Hawaiian style chicken/rice in the Rodeo 39 complex. Tucked away in the corner, their selection covers all of your standard islander fare - made with fresh ingredients and overall very tasty. The grilled/teriyaki chicken with the rice was great. Spam masubi were tasty. Prices are a bit on the higher side and wish that the portions were bigger given the cost. The protein to rice ratio could have been a little bit better. Staff was friendly and prompt/efficient. The ambiance of Rodeo 39 is a great place to hang out and catch-up w/ old friends. He recommended the strawberry pineapple lemonade when I couldn't decide what to drink, and let me tell ya! It did not disappoint! What we ordered ~ Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken sandwich is cooked to perfection. The spicy and regular can't really taste a difference. Spicy isn't spicy at all. If you're able ti eat hot Cheetos. These are comparable to spice level. Love the macaroni salad in the burger. It's a whole different level of Sandwich. Their best seller. Service was fast & friendly. I got the kimchi butter katsu chicken sandwich and made it spicy. It comes on a Hawaiian bun with kimchi aioli, Mac salad and bruleed brown sugar. So I will say this sandwich is RICH. Almost a bit too much but you can definitely get filled up on just the sandwich. The crunch factor on the chicken was . Sooo good. That being said the spiciness level was non-existent. I almost feel like they might have forgotten to make it spicy. The aioli was a good flavor. The Mac salad was fine. Pretty standard. And I didn't taste the brown sugar at all. I got their mixed plate which was chicken and shrimp, and then the shrimp plate. these are both made with kimchi butter sauce and are crisped to perfection. these come with rice and mac salad too. I also wanted to try the spam brûlée musubi. the shrimp was truly the best part, it was so flavorful and had a perfect crunch. the chicken was great as well and cooked perfectly. the mac salad was good but I would say it needs a tad less mayo. the spam musubi were delicious. it was a good balance of savory and sweet, from the sugar that had been bruleed ON the spam!! the service was great and the place itself is in Rodeo 39 market. there's more than enough seating all throughout the place so that shouldn't be an issue. read more

I can't believe have not review this place!! I have been to this place more than a dozen of times. I really enjoyed their Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken Sandwich. Also their Spam brûlée so good. I was looking through all the pictures I have taken of food but unfortunately I have deleted them. Service was alright. All cashiers were busy fulfill orders and no one was behind the cash register to take order. Which had to wait for 15-20mins. I started going to Rodeo last year when I moved to Anaheim. There is so much food to try but one of my all time favorites is Shootz. Located in the back of rodeo you can find this shop with a decent line. They get busy during meal times but it's definitely worth the wait. There is seating indoors and outdoors but you can also sit anywhere inside rodeo. My boyfriend and I ordered the kimchi butter chicken katsu plate and sandwich along with the kimchi butter shrimp plate. Personally, I love a good sandwhich but my boyfriend always likes his katsu with rice. The chicken is crispy and well seasoned and you can choose spicy or regular. The spicy isn't too hot in my opinion so so usually order that. Between the chicken and the shrimp I like the chicken best, but they're both worth a try. For musubis, I got the spam brûlée which has the most creamy and delicious sauce on top with a nice torch to it. At the time, they were out of the honey coconut shrimp, but I think they're removing that from the menu anyways. Super great flavors overall. You gotta check this place out! read more

I'd score it maybe 2.5. Half the food was good. The other half was meh. But I knocked down half a star because I was annoyed that they charged me extra when it's not written anywhere and the response when I asked them about it. So I got a #4 (shrimp and chicken mix plate with spam brûlée) with a mango green tea lemonade. The shrimp was really good with a nice crunch and slight spiciness. The spam brûlée was also pretty good. The Mac salad was mushy. The katsu was soggy. The rice was fine. So I ordered the food and he gave me the drink. I'm drinking it while I'm waiting. It's a little too sweet so I water it down a bit. I look at my emailed receipt and realize it's an extra $2. I ask the cashier and he's like ohhh yeah that drink is an extra $2. I'm like it doesn't say it anywhere on the menu. The menu actually has pictures of that drink with the combos. And he said "whoops that was my fault. I should have told you." I'm like yeah I wouldn't have gotten this one. I'm thinking a regular drink is any non alcoholic regular sized drink. He shrugs his shoulders and walks away. No where does it say fountain drink or anything distinguishing of an extra $2. It's only $2 but it's the principle of it. He didn't seem to care that much or maybe that's the norm and people don't realize it's extra? He takes the next order then goes to the back and doesn't come back out (I can see thru the glass). Another guy comes out to give me the order. I'm annoyed with how it was handled by the guy. Hopefully the guy informs other customers and it was an honest mistake to tell me. I don't know. I was at Rodeo 39 and happened to come across Shootz. I ordered the Kimchi Butter Chicken Katsu Sandwich and the Spam Brûlée Musubi. Starting with the Kimchi Butter Chicken Sandwich, it was disappointing to me. I was really looking forward to it because it sounded amazing, but instead it was too oily from the butter and I couldn't really taste the kimchi anyways. The sandwich was lacking in the flavor they were promising. I liked the spam brûlée musubi more. It's pretty hard to mess up spam musubi, and the sweet sauce with the torched sugar on top was a really cool addition. Other than the food, the staff was friendly and the food came out within 10 minutes. They weren't too busy at the time I went so it was quick service. They have seating inside and out. Parking is tough to get at Rodeo 39, so I'd say be patient while looking. read more

But this place has become my absolute favorite. There wasn't very many people working, so we waited a little while for the food, but the cashier was very sweet to me and my best friend and gave us advice about what to order. I also thought it funny there wasn't a longer line there because this is literally the best restaurant at Rodeo 39. I ordered the Spam Brûlée Masubi, Kimchi Butter Shrimp Plate and the Mint Peach Lemonade. The lemonade was a little too on the sweet side for me and the masubi was really good, but the PLATE. OOF. Omg, you are PUNCHED with flavor. The spicyness, the texture, the sweet and savoriness, it's all there. The mac salad was even good and I'm not a big mac salad person. Everything here is amazing! I decided to order a small tray of spam musubi on the day of the Super Bowl, but I didn't know that catering orders needed to be placed a week in advance (which is on me). I called and asked if it'd be possible to place the order the day of, and luckily they allowed it! Service is always super friendly and I'm very thankful for how accommodating they were.
