I got the Macaroni and walnut Shrimp Musubi. I usually get the Butter Kimchi Katsu platter but wanted to try out the spam masubi. I always get the Mac and recommend if you get the platter replace the rice with the macaroni. I always do it and ask for extra chili powder on top. The spam musubi was all right. I wouldn't order it again because I felt there was too much rice compared to the filling. I think I will just stick with the kimchi katsu platter. Service was fast. I never had an issue with ordering and getting my food. And there's tons of seating since it's inside Rodeo39. Indoors and outdoor seating depending on the mood. read more

I usually always get their chicken Katsu plate (spicy) but recentlly I tried their Katsu sandwich and it's so good. I ordered a side of the kimchi aïoli and put that on top and it was delicious. Ordered the Shrimp plate original meal with the drink and the musubi. The strawberry drink was barely full and the musubi was missing from the bag, even though my husband asked them if it was in there and they confirmed it was. Luckily, I was able to check before we left so that way we would be able to ask for it. The person taking the order was knowledgeable, but also rude. They need to do better on customer service. My friend showed me this spot in Rodeo 39 and it's now my favorite Hawaiian food in Cali. I got the regular kimchi butter shrimp and katsu mix plate. It was so worth the $20, y'all should be charging $30 for this! (jk). I like to judge a good plate by if you can eat the shell off the shrimp, and you can. The katsu chicken was so good, Idk how to describe it, but I had no idea katsu can taste better than what it already is. The macaroni was so good too! This ain't your regular Hawaiian plate you'd get at an Ono's, this is like top tier food truck quality food right here. I've only heard about Shootz from SoCal locals and Hawaiian natives who are comparing Shootz to Hawaiian food from back home. Ordered the food online and the food was prepared in a timely manner. Service was great and they have lots of available seating for you to choose from. Located inside Rodeo 39 and the place has a modern look. Kimchi Buttered Katsu 4/5 flavors were really yummy! Seasoned perfectly and the outside coating had a nice crisp. Only downside is the chicken pieces are very very thin. You can see how small it is in the picture. If they provided bigger pieces I would rate the place 5/5 read more

Kayla and some of the other staff members here are awesome! The vibe is always dope, they're always playing anime or F1 on the TV screen. The new seating is better than the old. After bookmarking their Yelp page two years ago, I finally tried Shootz, a Hawaiian-Asian joint located inside Rodeo 39. Don't ask me why I didn't stop by sooner - I honestly have no excuse as to why it took me such an absurd amount of time to make the trip. Lol. Better late than never, I suppose. Anyways, I ordered the Hot Kimchi Butter Chicken Katsu sandwich. The fried chicken cutlet was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and it had a nice little zing of kimchi flavor (though I do wish the flavor had been more prominent). That being said, the kimchi-flavored chicken katsu paired well with the creamy mac salad and toasted bun. All in all, it was a pretty unique katsu sandwich, and it certainly left me satisfied. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. My only hesitation about giving this place five stars was that having ordered their shrimp multiple times, the flavor was not consistent. However, I was in search of good Hawaiian garlic shrimp around the area or something similar and I found this to be the best one for me around here in OC. I love Broken Mouth for authenticity but it's in DTLA and I love MamaG's shrimp on Instagram if I want to gorge myself in garlic but you definitely have to schedule to buy from her. Shootz's shrimp plate is delicious. I love the Korean fusion and that you can make it more saucy. I love how crispy the shrimp is and how good the mac is. The spam musubi is also great. Again, the only issue I had with the shrimp was the consistency of the sauce. Some days the flavor of the sauce had a bit more spiciness than other days. But overall, their shrimp alone is so good that I think that's enough to give them 5/5. read more

They say size doesn't matter...but it does for me when it comes to ordering shrimp!! I ordered the 4pc brulee musubi and the mixed plate. Located in a strip mall food court. Menu is limited. Order at the counter and they called your name when the food is ready, place it in a small paper bag. Limited indoor and outdoor dining, appears most people got their orders to go. I ordered the Komatsu mixed grill, which comes with a couple of large spam sushi bites (didn't particularly dig these). The mixed grill was quite good. And although a bit expensive, one of these platters are definitely splittable. read more

I probably come here every time that I'm in Orange County. Shootz is located inside of Rodeo 39. We came right around opening on Monday. I ordered to-go since I wanted my friend from LA to try it. The service here is very nice because the staff is so friendly. The kimchi butter chicken was so good! There's so much flavor and it's really buttery. Paired with the macaroni made it unbelievably good. I didn't picture it, but the spam musubi was creamy and sweet too! read more

TL;DR - food is alright, quick & fast most of my family is from hawaii, the food doesn't really compare to the real stuff, but that's to be expected. - i think it was just OK, rice was kinda hard and the meat + sauces were pretty salty service is good, there's some nice seating, it's just a bit loud since it is in rodeo 39. i would recommend if u want to switch up from eating regular sushi. read more

The worker here was literally the sweetest and let me sample the 3 different special drink options - I preferred the peach mint drink - highly recommend. I got the #1. Walking into Shootz, you're already met with a Malibu Coastal Pink sort-of vibe, and the food here is worth a visit. Hands down one of the best chicken katsu and fried shrimp that i've tried. the flavors are amazing and the chicken is so tender it just melts in your mouth. the spam musubi is amazing as well with the extra sauce to dip it in. the sandwiches are also insanely good especially with the mac salad being on it. I cannot recommend this place enough. We also got the lemonade which was delicious of course. This is located inside rodeo market and there is plenty of seating and some good spots for dessert right after you are done, the ambiance was perfect! Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We were headed toward REI to grab some outdoor chairs and decided to stop at GHOST Sando Shop in Huntington Beach. I've driven past this place plenty of times and never really knew what it was. It also happened to be one of the only places open in the shopping center that early, so we figured, why not? Man, we had no idea what we were missing. We ordered the Melrose for ourselves and a Club for our daughter. Marco took our order and was also the one making the sandwiches. A few minutes after we sat down, he actually walked over and asked me, "Are you sure you want the pepperoncini and tomato on the Club?" My first thought was basically, uhhh... yeah, of course I do! Then it clicked. The Club was for our daughter. Marco had remembered that from our conversation when we ordered and knew that a lot of kids probably aren't exactly excited about pepperoncini and tomatoes. Meanwhile, Dad over here completely forgot to ask for them off. That might seem like such a small thing, but THAT is customer service. Marco wasn't just taking an order, collecting payment, and moving on to the next customer. He was actually paying attention. He remembered who the sandwich was for and took the extra few seconds to come over and double check before making it. Good looking out, Marco. Seriously. And that wasn't the only interaction we had with him. Marco was incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in. He talked with us, answered questions, and even gave us suggestions on other sandwiches we should try the next time we come back. Nothing felt forced or scripted. It was just genuine conversation from someone who seemed to actually care whether we enjoyed our experience. There were only two guys working while we were there, yet everything was running smoothly. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was relaxed, the bright green interior gives the place its own personality, and there's plenty of seating inside along with a really nice outdoor patio area. And most importantly, the sandwiches were GOOD. The Melrose was a great first choice, and Melody enjoyed her Club, thankfully without Dad accidentally loading it up with pepperoncini. I was greeted and told to sit anywhere so I opted for a booth. Server was helping out what looked like 3 other parties that sat before so it took a little bit to get my menu. Once she came by, she mentioned their lunch specials which I opted to get. I decided to get the spicy basil (krapow) with pork and a Thai iced coffee. The order did take awhile to come out probably about 15 mins due to other parties ordering ahead of me and what looked like a lot of to go orders since people were coming in and out. Coffee came out first and for $6 the size was huge! I took one sip and man it was really refreshing! A little more on the sweeter side but it was good! My food came out next and decided to dig in immediately. The eggroll was first and it was crispy! Paired with a small side of sweet chili sauce, that was good! The salad itself was fine and as for the krapow... I thought it was fine. The sauce used was okay but it did come with a lot of pork on it. I asked for it to be mild but it wasn't that spicy at all. Overall, it was a good meal. After those other parties settled, my server focused on me more which was cool. She was nice for sure. The meal altogether was around $20 with tip it ended around $25. Great price for the lunch special and coffee! Overall, my food was good. Nothing crazy to rave about but for the price paid was great. The coffee was good too. Looks like this restaurant has been part of the neighborhood for a long time and I would say come check this place out for some decent Thai food!

The chicken in it was soooo tender. It almost felt like it melted in my mouth. The Thai fried rice was yummy as well. The chicken in the fried rice was a little dry but the flavors compensated. The pad Thai was delicious and I'm usually very picky with my pad Thais. The noodles were super soft and it had a solid tangy flavor to them. We arrived at 4:30pm when they just opened but they seemed to get the dishes out super fast. The service was super nice and attentive as well. Overall, very pleased with my experience and will come again.

I placed the order online for pick up and food was ready in a timely matter. Upon entering, the girls working the front were nice and quick to acknowledge us. We were in and out of there fast since it was just a pick up. For the large plate it costed me about $17. The portions were huge! You can easily split into two meals, which was what my dad did. He said the food was good and he would get again. Next time I'll have to try myself and also the yamas fries caught my eye. While I was there, there was a ton of people coming in for take out as well. Worth a try!

Lots of Asian eats and a few varieties of La Street Tacos, Italian and Columbian eats. Very warm location. Family orientated. You can feel it when walking around inside. Kids and their parents having a good time. Restrooms is clean and service is friendly. This place also has a bar you can chill and relax. Such mixture and variety of people. I recommend this place.
