Food was great. Very well seasoned. Salad was crisp and fresh with a nice ginger sauce. Onion soup appetizer was good. Steak was good. Garlic butter on rice was a nice touch. The cooking performance was entertaining and the chef was interesting to talk to! The inside was decently spaced out and I liked the art on the walls and the color scheme for everything as well. My only complaint was the amount of birthday celebrations we encountered while we ate lol. I know it's not their fault bc they can't control when people come in to celebrate but we saw not kidding 15 birthday celebrations in one night. It wouldn't have been an issue, but the establishment's way of making the staff sing happy birthday involves multiple loud tambourines clanking over and over. Which in my opinion needs to be reformed because hearing it 15 times kinda killed the vibe ngl. Oh and also more ventilation if possible; felt kinda stuffy in there with multiple grills inside. Recently ate here for my granddaughters birthday. While the hostess and staff were friendly, the cook we had wasn't was friendly and engaging as the cook that presented after ours at the next table. Kind of disappointed considering the cost for the food as well as the cooks presentation. The food was tasty and I especially enjoyed the sushi rolls we ordered. Was visiting from TN so didn't take time to snap pics but if I decided to eat here again, it would be just for sushi. The show/tricks were really cool and we enjoyed the food and atmosphere! It was my sisters birthday Friday night and we had a reservation for 7:30. It was made very clear that if you were even ten minutes late , your reservation was to be canceled. We showed up 15 minutes early to make sure we would all be on time. We ended up not being seated till almost 8:30 and got attitude from the manager and host up at the front desk. By the time we ordered we ended up having a split table and our server was so incredibly rude that we could barely get a word in without being rushed. Our chef did not care what was even going on and served my dad RAW chicken and we all had under cooked steak and veggies. My poor sister barely got to start eating her food when all of a sudden they rushed out with her birthday dessert and then proceeded to start cleaning around us to try and push us out even faster. Because they closed at 9. Considering that we were on time , there for a special occasion, and waited for as long as we did, was disappointing. We came on Christmas Day. The three stars are for them being open and the food being good. Our chef Ana had no personality, did not say a word the entire time she prepared the food, and when I clarified I didn't want butter in my veggies she looked confused and annoyed and did proceeded to put butter on my veggies. One of our guests told the server he wanted noodles and veggies. Ana only gave him veggies but we were charged the $4 extra for both. The server was good, but the chef was really not mentally present, it seemed. Usually when you pay $300 for the teppanyaki experience you expect a bit of a show, but with Ana as our chef we all just sat in silence watching her cook without even glancing at any of us, let alone uttering a word. It was the most boring teppanyaki experience I've ever had. They do have vegan options: the tofu delight. Just be sure to tell the server that you need the veggies prepared without butter. read more

Heard about this location and had to go check it out. Their sushi chef is ridiculously talented. He made two vegans rolls and the sauce he poured on top was amazing. Tasted like it may have had ponzu sauce with other stuff. The seared salmon roll, crazy boy roll, and the I think shrimp roll were all delicious. We also tried the spicy tofu dish with veggies and fried rice. Those veggies were seasoned to perfection and the tofu was crispy. The bartender was sweet and so was our waitress. Overall is was a great experience. We went during brunch and it was pretty quiet and calm but it is a nice space for larger groups as well. read more

This was my first visit to shogun! Reservations are recommended. I didn't know this but was able to be seated after a 15 minute wait, as there was a cancellation. Based on exterior and reviews, the ambiance was actually nicer than I expected. Service altogether could've been better. They say they offer fine dining, but it's definitely not fine dining. The food is truly just OK. It's not bad but it's definitely not going to blow your mind. I did enjoy the food though. You are really paying for an experience that is different from your usual sit down dinner and is nice to do with the family or kids. Your experience will depend solely on the service and the chef for your table. It was about $100 for two people which isn't bad, but food would either have to be great, or the experience to make it worthwhile. I got: Calamari Rings - crispy on the outside and soft inside. Served with sweet and sour and tartar sauce. This was a great appetizer - Filet + Hibachi Scallop Combo Medium Rare With Miso Soup , Salad, Chow Mein , Chicken Fried Rice The meat was really good. Soft and tender. The scallops were good as well. I could do without the lemon added on top of the scallops but I still enjoyed them. The fried rice was my favorite. Very good and buttery. Salad was good and topped with a lot of dressing. I think the only thing I would do different is opt for veggies over the chow mein. Miso soup was slightly salty but not bad at all Filet - my husbands Medium With Miso Soup , Salad, Chow Mein , Chicken Fried Rice My husband enjoyed everything and had no complaints with the food. He also thought the chow mein was OK. Would probably substitute for veggies or all fried rice next time. John was our chef and was very friendly. He did offer tricks while cooking, and my son enjoyed it a lot! We thought he was great. All in all, food was not bad. The price would only be justified if you have a good chef at each visit. If your chef is not great, the food will not make up for your experience. Would we come back? Yes! My dad took a longer than usual time to look over the menu due to the fact that not all of his usual picks were available. He was confused and also tired due to his insane work week. The waitress pulled my mom aside to ask her if my dad was intoxicated. My dad doesn't drink. How freaking insulting. She was not longer comfortable enough to eat so she requested the bill for the appetizers and drinks. The manager came over and claimed that my dad was making the girl "uncomfortable". My mom was sitting next to him the entire time. Nothing was said to her except for questions about the menu. What an absolute joke. We came here for my daughter's 10th birthday. It was so on a Thursday night so we got seated fast for a party of 11. I made a reservation in advance tho but still quick. Didn't have to wait. Our table cooktop was damaged with a large unsanitary crack in the metal where our cooked food touched. The table was sticky and there was old food from previous customers left on it. This place is very run down. My family was horrified. The food was burnt and our chef didn't speak to us or smile the entire time - a very quiet, boring performance. 10/10 experience! We had a lovely waitress, Sara (or Sarita) who was very accommodating, warm and friendly and definitely went out of her way to make sure we had a great dining experience. It is so refreshing to go out to eat and have excellent service and positive attitudes all around! She even left the sweetest note on our receipt. Had a few major issues with this place and none being the food. 3 stars or more for good quality food. 2 stars for poor service. 1/2 star for terrible management for low employee moral and 0 star for Owners greed and tacking on extra fee's. On Saturday the 12th of October around 2pm, 12 of my closest family and friends joined together to celebrate my mom's birthday. We congregated in the bar deciding to grab a drink while we wait for our table. My mom had brought in a small single bottle (single bottle of the 4 packs you can get at the store) just in case the bar didn't serve her favorite and only brand of wine she'll drink. She asked the bartender if she would pour in glass for her and that she'll pay the difference of a similar glass of wine that they do offer. The bartender refused unless my mom paid the $25 corkage fee. I thought she was joking at first. Me being a bartender/ server at a few fine dining establishments currently and in the past, I know that this fee is really only enforced in this manner by greedy owners who don't trust their staff to make ethical and wise decisions on their own. Dining room and a full size bottle-yes corkage fee. Small mini bottle in bar before being seated- no corkage, Seems fair to me. idk maybe I'm just used to working for employers with class. Anyway, that set the tone for what came next. Our hibachi chef was nice but acted oddly distant and stiff. Not the usual fun loving, shrimp tossing in the mouth, energetic chef. He acted like an abused animal, almost afraid to smile. Again, I blame management for this. We got through the meal finally and was met with our bill dropped with no explanation. We see a service charge of $!00. naturally we assume this was gratuity added for our party 12. My mom decided to add cash as well that so with service charge (minus sales tax) the server walks with over 25%. So we thought. We were literally out the door when we were followed out to the parking lot by server asking if that is all the tip we were going to give. How tacky and rude. But I can't even be rude back because just then did I realize that the service fee wasn't going towards the employee's tip . (Owner greed looks to be the root of these issues. We decided to try Shogun for the first time last night. The teppan tables were full and we were offered a table in the dining room with the same menu. We ordered a glass of Moscoto, Shogun Tea, and 2 New York Steak dinners (one rare and one medium rare). We also requested fried rice. On the menu there was an option to upgrade from steamed rice to chicken fried rice for $2.99. First the drinks came. The wine was Chardonnay not Moscoto. The shogun tea was not as described on the menu. But our server was nowhere to be found so we just drank what we had. Next came the soups. No spoons available. We sat and waited for about 5 minutes for our server to come back so we could ask for spoons. Finally just decided to drink straight from the bowl. Soup was good. Then came our food. It was immediately evident that the steak and shrimp were WAY over cooked. All the steak was well done. The steak was cut in all different sizes (some not bite size and there were no knives available) and there were giant chunks of fat just sitting on the plate. The vegetables served were primarily red bell pepper, with some mushrooms and zucchini - we were shocked to be served bell pepper at a teppan restaurant. The fried rice served had no chicken (so we assumed it wasn't the same rice advertised as an upgrade for $2.99). As we started to eat it was evident the food had been microwaved, based on the texture and taste of everything. It was absolutely horrible. Then our bill was finally brought. We glanced at it quickly and then handed the credit card. Almost immediately I realized that the receipt said sushi and I called the waiter back. He had brought the wrong check which was $25 higher than our actual bill (once we received ours). I am glad I caught the error. Plus we were charged $2.99 x 2 for the chicken fried rice (that had no chicken) Our meal was $96 (before tip) for 2 people. The service was terrible. The food was terrible. For $96 I expect a good meal. Very disappointing. read more

Really struggling between 1 and 2 stars... Service was pretty great. All teppan tables were fully booked, but the dining and bar areas were open. We sat at the bar and were taken great care of by Tony! I asked for kizami (fresh Wasabi) and he knew exactly what I was talking about and made it happen. Bar seating is a wind tunnel. Every time the front door opens, which is constant, things get cold and windy. There was a steady rotation of women coming and going as the wind was too much. Food quality... Oh boy. Not good. The wrong dish was brought. I ordered ribeye and chicken and not only did it not have any chicken, it was New York steak. Then when the correct dish, I hoped, was brought, there were no appetizer shrimp and the steak was cooked well done. A far, far cry from RARE. Tony had been so great running back and forth from the kitchen, there was no point in saying anything more. It's the kitchen that has the issues, not Tony. Service staff can only do so much! Really hope they get quality under control bc if the "house" isn't in order, they'll lose their excellent waitstaff. Get it together in the kitchen! Absolutely, will NOT, return here. First time here. I came for my birthday. They decorate this small amazing plate that reads "happy birthday" and the little small cake with ice cream that they give you is super delicious!! Also, for food, i had Filet Mignon with Colossal Shrimp and wow super amazingly delicious. It came with chicken fried rice, soup, salad, and noodles and it was very amazing! Rigo was our cook and he was amazing! I have been to Benihanas before but Rigo made the experience so much better than Benihanas. Rigo has so much skill and his name tag that was digital. He asked me what we were celebrating and asked for my name and his digital name tag was changed to "happy birthday Michael" that really was amazing. It made the day more special than it already was. Note: not everyone has this digital name tag because he said his mom purchased this for him to wear to work and I thank his mom for adding something that stands out more than the rest of the cooks. Comparing Shogun to Benihanas, i will confess that Shogun had more flavor to their food and the wait times aren't that long. In order to have a cook cook in front of you, you have to make sure to make reservations ahead of time because then you won't have this amazing performance. I also had these garlic fries and that was also very good and i recommend that as an appetizer. Horrible cook! Went to dinner an our cook made a lot of mistakes. My husband order the $40 dlls rib-eye and chicken an they gave him 4 small pieces of chicken an the rib had ALOT of FAT!!! My granddaughter order Teriyaki steak an it had more fat than meat! He took forever to cook the vegetables, that by that time my meat was cold. They forgot our steam rice. AND when he would talk you couldn't hear him. It was like he was whispering. An to top it off the people that were sitting with us he got their order wrong. I had NEVER experienced something like this at a hibachi, especially Shogun! Shogun is suppose to be the top notch next to Benihana. Shogun needs to get better cooks.
