Came here for a friends birthday. Pretty cool place to eat. You sat around a fire grill and a chef cooked for you. Made it into a show which made it more entertaining. The server takes your order and brings you out your appetizers first as the chef is cooking what you ordered. They also sell sushi rolls on the side. Definitely a fun place to bring the kids.

Server didn't pre buss our table. Left all this when dropping the check

Fined here on 11/20 and checked out at 1pm. I believe our servers name was Steve? Awkward customer service. No pre-bussing of the table. Service was slow. Our server was found in the back on his phone while several tables sat waiting. We also waited way too long for our cash change to be returned. Severs should carry a bank if they have to wait for change from someone else especially during the lunch hour. Will not be back to dine here.

Went to Shogun Restaurant to celebrate my birthday for the first time, and we felt welcome the second we walked in. The manager, Eric, was immediately friendly and made our entire experience memorable. On top of that, the food was amazing. My wife said the filet mignon was the best thing she's ever had, and the garlic butter was incredible. Thank you again, Eric, for the great service you and your team provided--we truly appreciated it. We'll definitely be coming back soon... this time to try the sushi!!

I always have a positive experience at this Shogun. Fresh sushi, delicious filet mignon, and the service was terrific. Lauren was an excellent server and chef Oswaldo was amazing. Great food, great service, and a relaxing environment. It's here!

Shogun is my favorite Teppan restaurant ! They have the best options for vegans and vegetarians. They will cook my food first and separate so as to not mix with the meat on the grill. They have the very best dish - Tofy Delight The fried tofu is delicious with teriyaki or sauce or without and the portion size is quite large. Big enough to share because everyone wants to try what you have ! The veggies are onions mushrooms zucchini and red peppers - delicious! Always great service here. In my experience if you have a reservation and there are not enough people to fill a table, they will seat you and cook just for you. I appreciate that. Great food and great service. One of Our families favorite restaurants. Any of the Shoguns Corona, Rancho Cucamonga or La Verne.

Excellent dinner experience!!! If you make a reservation, request ADAM as your chef - that sir was a stud!!! ADAM cooked everything to perfection and included all of the kids & adults in his conversation/jokes during the show, We will be back, maybe tomorrow! Thanks ADAM!!!

Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura Lunch

Me and my husband were in the Corona area looking for a place to have lunch and decided to try Shogun Teppan Restaurant. We were seated at a few minutes along side another family with kids at a timely manner. For appetizer we got the Shrimp and Vegetable tempura which was satisfyingly crispy and yummy. From then we ordered the FILET MIGNON & SCALLOPS to SHARE which included either a side of soup or salad. We chose the salad which always hits. Also upgraded the steam rice to Chicken Fried Rice. This place was like your average Teppan steak place with separate dining areas for Teppan or direct order seating. When it came to Cooking our food here are our THOUGHTS & HIGHLIGHTS TO KEEP NOTE OF: -First off our Chef had his own speaker that he brought to the table for extra music on the side. Which was nice BUT, a bit too much one cuz I couldn't hear his questions as it was TOO loud for me. -The entertainment was as expected HOWEVER, somewhat understandably he was more so Focused on the toddler that was seated at our table. Really ONLY interacted with us for confirmation about our order and how it tastes. -The Chicken Fried Rice was flavorful & crispy -Vegetables well cooked, softened enough to leave a nice bite. -Scallops were glistening and my favorite because they just melted in your mouth. *HOWEVER THE REASON WHY WE GAVE 2 STARS* - Is because the disappointing part of our experience was not being served the CORRECT MEAT. At first we couldn't tell or be sure that we received the FILET MIGNON OR Other CUT OF MEAT and we did not want to make a scene. However as we were eating, knowing the Filet Mignon is a lean cut of meat we should have not received ANY full pieces that were almost entirely Fatty. Unfortunately half way through eating, we encountered such a piece of meat. Indicating to us that we were not served correctly. Overall the quality of food and ambience was satisfactory at best. Leaving the mistake in service as our biggest demerit for Shogun Restaurant.

Lunch portion

So I had some business near Riverside that my wife joined me for. On the way home we saw a Shogun off the freeway in Corona and thought we'd stop in for lunch. Mind you I grew up near the original Shogun in Pasadena, so we use that as our measuring stick. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised by a familiar face. Eric Niera that managed the Pasadena restaurant had moved to be the General manager in Corona. The setting was familiar ( decoration wise), but much to our surprise the menu was slightly different. New vegetables, the inclusion of Yakisoba noodles all included for lunch. The Head Chef Hugo had a great show and the food was perfect. In fact it was a larger portion and turns out a few dollars cheaper per plate. Elisha was our server and she seemed to always be there when we wanted something, without being intrusive. I must say, Eric has brought a familiar vibe and the customers that we saw seemed to really enjoy it. The only bummer is that we are going to split our time between Pasadena and Corona !

Nice offering of Shio, Shoyu, Miso, Tonkatsu or Chicken ramen. Noodles are perfectly cooked with the perfect bite, firm, springy and chewy.. Gyozas are piping hot with a crispy wrapper. Although the filling was a little mushy. Green tea ice cream is nice and creamy balanced with the matcha flavor. Over all an enjoyable experience and service.

Anyway... After perusing through the menu, which had quite a few blacked out items (black tape applied over the menu item) we both decided on the Tonkatsu Spicy Black Ramen Noodles as well a the Crispy Fried Rice appetizer... the appetizer was delivered but I had to request some small individual plates so that we could eat off of our own plate, rather than reaching over trying to share the same plate and making a mess on the table... no worries, small oversight (or so I thought at the time)... Next came the Ramen... Looked very appetizing, but again I had to get up and request a couple of soup spoons... went to dig in, and while the bottom of the bowl was warm, the broth itself was quite cold... after calling over the waitress and asking them to please reheat (even if they had to use the microwave)... the waitress took it back to the "open" kitchen and they used the microwave to reheat... The bowls were returned and as we started to eat, satisfied that the broth was indeed hot, we noticed a couple of items missing: the corn - no corn in the broth like it was described... in addition to that, no Wood Eared Mushrooms were in the broth either... the wood eared mushrooms set the "black" apart from the standard ramen and cost $.50 more per serving... when questioned about it, the hostess informed us that they didn't have any mushrooms... as a consolation, she offered us one of the "extra price" toppings in place if it... we opted for the tofu... a bowl of tofu pieces came out and although they appeared to have steam coming off of it, the tofu was cold as well... smh... The hostess returned them to to kitchen to be reheated... We received a 10% discount ($4.90 of of a $49 bill)... Not sure if they're going to make it with this level of service and food quality... Good Luck!

Yoshioishi Sushi & Ramen had solid reviews, so we decided to pivot and give it a try. First impression: the menu is extensive. It's one of those places where you almost don't know where to start. The fan favorites are marked with a red flower, which helped narrow things down. We also asked our server for suggestions, which made it easier to navigate. We arrived just before 5pm and there was only one other table. We were told to sit anywhere we'd like. By the time we left, the restaurant was filling up and it seemed like there were quite a few regulars coming in. Here's what we tried: Salted edamame: Just average. A bit limp and not as crisp as I'm used to, so they didn't feel especially fresh. Gyoza: Really nice flavor and the dipping sauce was well balanced. These were solid. Yellowtail jalapeño sashimi: This was different in a good way. It had cilantro and a slightly sweeter sauce instead of the traditional garlic ponzu. Unexpected, but a pleasant surprise. Crispy chicken karaage: Slightly over fried but still flavorful. The dipping sauce helped. Crispy rice with spicy tuna: Just okay. One piece barely had tuna on top. Not bad, but not something I'd reorder. Cucumber salad: Served on a bed of iceberg lettuce, which surprised us, but the dressing had great flavor. This disappeared quickly. Nigiri: The salmon was incredibly fresh and one of the highlights. The albacore and toro came topped with fresh wasabi, which was a nice touch. We really enjoyed the salmon and albacore. The toro didn't quite melt in your mouth like we hoped. It was a bit chewy. Crazy Salmon Roll: Good flavor, but note that the salmon on the outside is fully cooked. We expected raw, so just something to keep in mind. Snow Mountain Roll: A fan favorite at the table. Great texture and flavor. Plain udon and plain ramen: Both were excellent. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the portions were generous. We definitely over ordered, but we left very full. One small detail for fellow tea lovers: I always look forward to hot tea at a Japanese restaurant, especially when it's served in a small pot you can refill at the table. Here it was hot water with a tea bag in a metal cup, which was too hot to comfortably hold, and there was no teapot provided. Not a deal breaker, but next time I'd probably skip the tea. Service was strong. In addition to our main server, two other team members checked in and refilled water regularly, which we appreciated. Overall, I'd call it a 3.5 if that were an option, so I'm landing at 3 stars. The food was decent, the atmosphere comfortable, and the service attentive. It didn't completely wow us, but we're glad we tried it.
