Medium wings
Corie Y.

Standard, good pub fare. I recently saw a picture of some good looking wings from here. As an amateur wing connoisseur, I had to try them. Also heard they had bangin' blue cheese, yes please! I came here around 5pm and it was not very busy. There were a couple tables besides ours, and a half full bar. However, it seemed there was only the bartender and one waitress for the whole place. Service was very slow, we actually saw a couple sit for 5-10 minutes, and left because no one came to serve. meh. The draft/beer list was good, they had some good sounding cocktails, as well as a few wines. I stuck to Boom Sauce, although there were others I would have loved to try. Both glasses of beer I ordered though seemed to be missing the top inch of beer. Bad pour. My veggie friend and I are always on the search for fried vegetables. We spotted fried green beans and it was a no brainer. They came out warm, but not burn your mouth hot, which was perfect. They were cooked perfectly and super delicious. The sauce they were served with was super rich and the perfect pairing. On to the main event, wings! They were good! I really wanted to try two sauces, medium (standard in which to compare all wings) and the lemon pepper. They wouldn't split the order so I stuck with Medium. It was 12, pretty wings. Nicely sauced, fresh wings. I could tell by the cuts they were fresh, and there was still a small bit of breast meat on them. Overall they were good. I think the skin itself could have been crispier, but the meat was a little dry, so asking for extra crispy would have made that worst. They were definitely not as juicy and tender as they could have been. The sauce was very standard and good, a bit of heat. All in all, these are good, pretty standard wings. The real star here is the blue cheese. That stuff could be eaten with a fork. Delicious, house made. The blue cheese alone makes it worth getting the wings. My dining partners enjoyed their meals! One ordered the pulled pork quesadilla. She enjoyed the addition of onions to it. My veggie friend ordered their spinach artichoke grilled cheese and "it totally changed the grilled cheese game". Suffice to say, she loved it! I think we will be back, I want to try the lemon pepper wings and get more of the blue cheese!

I went for a live show by a band called Yellowdog. They played a mix of grunge and classic rock for anyone that's interested. The space is decent though as a venue it's tricky because there's a barrier between the bar and the stage and not a ton of seating. You can see over the barrier but you have to turn your bar chair 180 and then your beer and stuff are behind you so... Meh. Food wise I tried the recommended lemon pepper wings and a dip trio. The wings were more of a dry rub and salty than saucy and lemony and I didn't personally care for them. The dipping trio was a good way to see which sauces were the best there. My favorite was their buffalo dipping sauce while the other two were not so memorable. I would definitely try something with more of that creamy buffalo dipping sauce if they made it though. It wasn't exactly straight buffalo sauce and had a nice thick creamy texture. The boomsauce IPA was excellent and I recommend it. This is a ok pub. Go for a show, have some boomsauce, and if the sodium in their wings makes you sick, Albany memorial is right across the street.

Wing Tour: Lemon Pepper Crispy: 5 Stars Flavor: 4 Stars Mango Habanero Crispy: 3 Stars Flavor: 5 Stars Mild Garlic Parmigiana Crispy: 3 Stars Flavor: 5 Stars Overall: 4 Stars Let's get our paws saucy... one of my favorite wing flavors is the Lemon Pepper, with that being said I have high hopes for is someone offers this flavor. This is by far the best Lemmon Pepper order of wings I have had to date!! Super crispy and have this wonderful crunch wing you bite into them. The zest of the lemon with great flavor from the peppercorns you can bet I'll be back for another round of these! Mango Habanero was an very well balanced of sweet and heat, immediately the sweetness hits you tongue it is followed up by the heat from habaneros. Not overwhelming on either or sweet or the heat. Has a definite snap of crispness even under the sauce

Rodeo burger and Philly cheesesteak with fries

Came here on a last minute lunch date and were able to pick a table to sit at immediately when we walked in. I ordered a Rodeo burger and subbed a vegan Beyond meat patty. My date had a philly cheese steak. Our fries were fresh and everything came out within a decent amount of time. It wasn't too crowded and there are plenty of tvs at the bar.

Ok busy Thursday(we were a bit concerned as it looked dark from parking lot). But lots going on inside! Don't miss the clam chowder! I ordered the surf sampler- nice taste of coconut shrimp, fried clams, bacon wrapped scallops and haddock($15). The tartar sauce was a perfect a accompaniment and they had a Spicy sauce to go with coconut shrimp. Spouse ordered the steak frites which is served on a military mess tray with brown gravy for fries! Haven't had that since drunk diner days! Done to order, although a little tough; but for $15 it was good. Go for the Pineapple Express for those who like Caribbean refresher! The soup was late so they comped it- good customer service! I would definitely come back as I want to check out Taco Tuesday and Football specials. Ladies room was clean and large. Darts if ya like and the music source was great bass and eclectic taste!

Crispy Chicken Ranch Wrap

Good quality restaurant. My girlfriend and I tried the Crows Nest tower, the classic chicken sandwich (crispy) and the crispy chicken ranch wrap. Everything was 10/10. It's all food that you can get from a chicken spot for cheaper, but it was worth it if you want to sit in a restaurant. We did not try any drinks because they didn't have flavored margaritas or mojitos.

Fidens Brewing Company on Broadway in Albany Each week there's a different wing flavor to try, so whether you're into stepping outside the box or sticking with your favorites, the choice is yours. And let me just say this... people were constantly coming in for pickup orders and filling seats to the point they SOLD OUT of wings I heard one poor guy say "Ummm... now I don't know what to get." But those Buffalo Wontons??? Absolutely delicious Outside of the food menu they also have a huge selection of beers, and since I'm definitely not a beer connoisseur, "Mike" behind the bar let me sample a few while breaking down the different flavor profiles which honestly made the experience even better.

Not overly sweet. I could smell the raspberry when I was drinking it. It has vibrant raspberry color too. My favorite dish here is the chili. Not too salty but well seasoned. Perfect consistency. Brussel sprouts are great appetizer. Crispy, not bitter as it is drizzled with balsamic vinegar. My husband had Reuben sandwich. It's good but greasy. You order the food and drink at the bar area. You are given a buzzer that you put on the table. The waiter will come to deliver the food. There's misunderstanding about our salad order. We ordered regular salad but were given a side dish size. The waiter quickly told the kitchen to make regular size salad.

We arrived on a Saturday night around 6PM and there were three people at the bar. By the time we left around 7PM, there had been at most nine people including us. Either it was an off night or it is a quiet bar. The bartender was friendly, though he accidently forgot to bring our drinks and I had to remind him 15 minutes later. We ordered wings and loaded fries, and food came up relatively quickly. From what I understand, the kitchen guy was new. It showed in the fries, which were cooked but not crispy at all. It was like eating a loaded baked potato... not bad, but not fries. (They took them off the bill- thank you!). The wings were good and varied in size, though of our 10 Buffalo wings only one was a drumstick. I like flats so it was okay with me, but odd. We later ordered 10 more wings and my wife said she liked the Lemon-Pepper seasoning. They have happy hour specials from 5-8 which is nice, though three items were out by the time we arrived. I would have loved to try their maple-bacon wings but they had no maple syrup. In the room next door was a pool table and it might be fun to play sometime if we come back.

New owners, new review…read more There was an everchanging group of friends who would gather weekly, prior to Covid, on a Friday evening at an establishment down the street from the Washington Tavern (better known as WT's to regulars) for a drink or two. Once a year on the Saturday before the St. Patrick's Day parade these friends would shift to WT's for what was known as "corned beef day." With new ownership of WT's it was about time that a call was put out to those friends to reunite. WT's was now the ideal place. Arriving on a Thursday at 4:30 we quickly realized that they didn't open until 5PM. They were kind enough to let us have a seat inside until the bar and kitchen were open and operational. They were not aware of our planned gathering so I will not nitpick about any service. In fact, the bartender who also acted as our server did a miraculous job handling the drinks and separate-check food orders for what grew to about 15 people in the backroom by the kitchen. Kitchen staff also did a wonderful job of getting the food out in a respectable time for our unexpected gathering at the start of their day. All the food I saw coming to our table looked inviting - wings; smashburgers; flatbreads; and someone's salad. I had a pint of Guinness with a Southern Smash burger ($16). There was plenty of flavor and a mix of textures as I took my first bite into the soft roll surrounding the smashed beef patty, a crunchy onion ring, fresh leaf lettuce, sliced tomato, American cheese, and a sweet BBQ sauce. Even the pickle spear on the side was tasty. A true surprise was what I believe were house-made potato chips - so crunchy with an herbed dusting that escapes me but helps to make them addictive. I foresee additional gatherings here in our future.
