What a wonderful first visit! My daughter and I stopped by for the first time and were treated so warmly by the owner, Nefaw, that we ended up coming back a second time within the same hour. Nefaw went above and beyond -- he surprised us with a complimentary honeycomb dessert and made my special request of a no-sugar matcha with oat milk exactly how I wanted it. For my little one, he made a warm cocoa that was perfectly sweetened, not overly sugary at all, which as a parent, I really appreciated. I also loved that they have a dedicated kids menu for drinks -- such a thoughtful touch for families. We loved it so much we came right back for a mojito and a strawberry iced drink, and both were superb. Every drink and pastry we tried was excellent quality; the space was spotless, and the hospitality made us feel like regulars on our very first visit. This place is truly a hidden gem, with lots of seating and beautiful natural light throughout. This is officially our new go-to spot. Difficult to find. Need to follow the numbers. Big luxurious space with plenty of seating and overhead bright lites, beautiful decor. Not busy post lunch. Approached order counter to order Shibam coffee black. She said it doesn't come black, came with milk. Went with the flow. Ordered less milk. Got called to prep station to clarify my order. Seems previous associate ordered Shibam latte for me. With order rectified to Shibam coffee, It came out minutes later. Offerings (Yemen): Yemeni coffee, espressos, flavor shots, Yemeni tea, organic tea, refreshers, kids' drinks, pastries. Sips: Shibam Coffee (7.85) charged for latte -large size, pretty hot. Sipped slowly. Lots of nuanced notes from Yemeni light roast coffee, qishr(coffee husks), cardamon, ginger, cinnamon & cream. Has mild sugary profile. -notice receipt reads Shibam latte (7.85). Wonder what a regular coffee cost? Already left when I checked pricing. 4ish stars Worthy! Service had hiccups, rectified by prep station. Quality: fresh tasty ingredients. I had seen the construction of Shibam Coffee many months ago, so I'm glad I finally had the chance to stop by and try it! One of the best Yemeni coffee shops, and I'm so happy to have one right here in Newark. The space is beautiful, bright, and spacious, with elegant gold decor, high ceilings, and a very clean and inviting atmosphere. I had the chance to try a few of their drinks, and they were all very good! I don't have a favorite yet since I still have so many more to try. There is an extra charge for oat or almond milk. The drinks and cakes are on the pricier side, but definitely worth trying. The decor is exquisite, and they have a wonderful selection of drinks, breads, and cakes beautifully displayed. Hidden gem alert! Shibam coffee is tucked inside a shopping center (easy parking!), and the interior design is gorgeous. Their menu is huge--lots of coffees, teas, and refreshers. Tried the Shibam Coffee with less sugar (glad I did, standard sweetness would've been an overload) and the Strawberry Mojito, which was delicious! But the absolute star of the show is the cheesecake. The baklava and biscoff flavors are incredible. 100% coming back to try more! read more

I was looking for a new café to work from and happened to stumble across Shibam Coffee during their grand opening. I've been to a few other Yemeni/Turkish coffee shops before, and I've always been a little skeptical about some of the drinks, but I wanted to give this place a try. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the space itself. The interior is modern, and bright. It definitely feels like a nice place to sit and get some work done. I ordered a Spanish latte with oat milk and planned to stay for a while. Unfortunately, their Wi-Fi was down during my visit, so customers had to use the Wi-Fi from the business next door. My drink took about 10 minutes to come out, which wasn't terrible, but a little longer than I expected given how slow it was. When I received it, I noticed the coffee was very light in color, which made me wonder if it would be on the sweeter side--and it definitely was. It ended up being much sweeter than my preference. I asked for a cup of ice so I could dilute it a bit, and when I poured the latte over the ice, I could actually see quite a bit of condensed milk settled at the bottom of the mug. Overall, I enjoyed working from the café and would consider coming back because the atmosphere is great. That said, I'd love to see the drinks balanced a little more, as they were much sweeter than I expected. If you have a big sweet tooth, you'll probably enjoy them more than I did. read more

I just went here for the first time, this morning. As I walked in, I thought this is too nice looking to just be a walk in coffee shop but I was wrong. I looked at the menu to see what looked good and also the display of pastries. Decided on the iced Mocha and fatayir with cheese. I made the mistake of getting no espresso in my iced Mocha and I think it was basically a chocolate milk. I'll be sure to remember that next time. The fatayir was very flavorful and good! The lady at the register was very helpful and helped me with my order. I will try this place again and see what else they have that I may like. read more

Multiple of Yemeni cafes around we have been trying these out. Suggested by family friends we tried it for the first time. One observation is they look really flashy with lot of light and tall ceilings, definitely feels like going to a restaurant in Dubai. We tried adani chai, babyccino and pistachio latte hot and cold both. As well as green tea with rose and jasmine. Babyccino with hazelnut flavor stood out the most. Second was adani chai which tasted very close to masala chai from home. The pistachio latte cold trumped hot one. You have to pick up your order by yourself if you get a pager else they have service robot. You also have to cleanup after yourself. Overall good experience. read more

We ordered an iced americano and it tasted watered down since the cup was so large. Same with my Spanish latte - the milk to espresso ratio was a lot. Maybe I should order a cortado next time. They have a soft opening going on, so I'm not so sure their hours, but it's a great hidden coffee stop! The staff were so nice, and even asked if we would like recommendations. Coffee was good but service is kind of unorganized and chaotic. It took them 25 minutes to make my drink . It was middle of the afternoon, so not a rush hour. They said they would call out the order but lost the ticket. I saw the server staff just standing around talking and if I had not gone to the counter to check , it would have taken yet more time. Great new cafe in town and it's NOT a boba shop!! I noticed quite a few Yemeni coffee places opening up in Hayward, Fremont and now Newark! It's great to see. The interior is lovely, and inviting, and warm. The staff was friendly. We ordered the Pistachio Iced Latte and it was Delicious and the Biscoff Cheesecake, also delicious!!! shiBAM BAM BAM!! overall would come again if i need to lock in and run 1500 ai agents on my mac while sporting an arcteryx jacket and manipulating my situationship with a raver girl. just kidding this is not really the place to be a performative sf tech male. hooray! anyway there are like 503775 of these qamaria copycats popping up all over the bay and i am here for it. the music is always bomb and the lights are always a bit too bright and the cafes are always huge. also the drinks are always mid but the ambiance makes up for it. located near courtyard marriott and may be hard to find! parking limited. just look for gold and a random palm tree (i feel like im describing vegas or paradise or some random street in morocco) service is great! all the baristas are nice. right now their food offerings are limited to mostly sweets, unlike qamaria and moka n co who serve shawarma etc. so at the risk of getting diabetes for the 100th time we got the dragonfruit, the coffee bean dessert, and a cappuccino - the dragonfruit refresher is too sweet and kinda artificial tasting in a good way. kinda like having red40 hot cheeto burrito. 6.5/10 coffee bean thing was overpriced and average, i think it is an ice cream interpretation of tiramisu. not enough coffee flavor and lacking some depth. shibam i would recommend you guys just stick to your yemeni pastries HAHA 7.5/10 cappuccino was HUGE! so the coffee flavor was weak. but i am a coffee snob who thinks capps should be 6-7 oz only with a proper monk head on top... so take my opinion with a grain of salt. 7/10 read more

Came here with some friends for the soft opening! Had a really lovely time trying the food and drinks, I tried the Iced Cocoa from the kids menu which tasted like an iced mocha without the coffee rather than a chocolate milk (which is exactly what I wanted!) & the honeycomb bread was delicious. Everyone who works there were nice and accommodating and I especially loved the atrium style seating section. Overall it was a good experience & will definitely be here again soon :) read more

This is the prettiest coffee shop I've ever visited in the Bay Area! I love how spacious it is, and there are plenty of outlets, making it the perfect place to study or get some work done! I also loved their Pistachio Latte, it was delicious! It reminds me of Sana's Cafe though. My sister ordered the Spanish Latte, but it was a little too sweet for her taste. We asked if it could be changed, and the staff didn't hesitate to change her drink for free. Their customer service was exceptional. Will definitely go back here again! read more

This place is brand new so i wanted to give a review! The coffee here is great. The pistachio latte has a rich pistachio flavor, but it's not syrupy or too sweet. It tastes very natural and lets the real flavor of pistachios through. My partner got the shibam latte, and the spices were really tasty too. Also not too sweet or heavy. Great addition to the Bay Area. The ambiance is amazing with a really posh but welcoming atmosphere. Plenty of seating and far less crowded than other Yemeni coffee shops. The iced pistachio latte, Adeni chai, and pistachio milk cake were the best I've had in any Yemeni cafe. Service was super nice and it was entertaining watching the World Cup match at the shop. read more

The turkish coffee was delicious until I got to the last few swallows and all I got was sludge. I think the coffee beans were ground too fine because you shouldn't get that much through the filter. I literally had to wipe mouth and tongue off with a napkin to remove it. Otherwise, the place is beautiful, service was good and the coffee was delicious until I got near the bottom of my cup. read more
