Love this place! I have been waiting for a good Yemeni coffee place to open in Union City, it's right in the same plaza as 24 Hour Fitness. I usually have to drive to Qamaria in Fremont but this is close to home, and I'm glad I gave it a try. The interior is nicely decorated, more of a chill place to hang with friends rather than a study spot. The workers were extremely nice and worked fast. I ordered the chai and my friend got a latte. The chai has a very deep flavor and we both agreed the chai is more worth it than the lattes (the lattes weren't as fragrant as the chai). They have a good selection of milk cake flavors that aren't too sweet, super yummy. I would definitely come here again! read more

The interior was cute but so packed! It's located in the same plaza as 24hr fitness, so the parking lot was FULL when we got there. The service was hectic because there was one barista, one food handler, and one cashier. We ordered and waited for 15 minutes before the barista realized we haven't received our drinks, just to tell us that she never received our orders. There were guests who came after and received their orders before we did, which was frustrating to see. This store seems to be under new management with the employees being on the newer side, so I hope they fix the kinks out soon! As for the drinks, it was only okay. The drinks were sweeter than what we asked for and it felt rushed. We'll try again next time to see if these hiccups have been addressed. read more

Sana'a Cafe has become one of my favorite late night spots in Union City. It's the perfect place to get some work done while enjoying great coffee, tea, and desserts. I got the Adeni chai and a pastry, and both were excellent. Big shoutout to Addan for helping me pick from the menu. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made the experience even better. I absolutely loved this place! Service is quick and the staff are so friendly. We opted to do the kiosk and everything available was on display. One of the items I ordered was sold out and they offered an exchange or refund. I decided to try a different item. I enjoyed the katafi cheesecake. It looks like this is a soft opening. There's no sign in the front but on the back of the building, you see several signs for the café. I needed a caffeine hit and found that this was nearby... I was super surprised to find out that it took over the old Starbucks in the 24 hour fitness plaza. Happy though it's near me! Love the decor inside. I didn't realize they were showing the World Cup here. I would have stayed if I wasn't working. I ordered a Yemeni Latte and it is good. The spinach fatayer is good. First time trying it. I ordered a pistachio croissant to try but they ran out . Some lady took my latte, but the workers were able to quickly make me another one. Now that I know this place is nearby, will definitely hit it up again to try out the other items. This will be a great place to catch up with friends or just chill. Welcome to the neighborhood, Sana'a! This is the third Yemeni cafe I've been to and it won't be the last. I was driving by and noticed their soft opening signs. They had just opened two days prior and I stopped by for a drink and snacks. Gone is the past Starbucks and here is the beautifully decorated space with cream interior and gold accents. Eats: Iced Adeni Chai, 50% sweet recommended Dubai croissant Chocolate croissant Za'atar & cheese fatayer Chicken musakhan rolled savory pastry I always opt for iced chai, or hot if it's chilly outside. They informed me the iced variety would take some time and it took more than twenty minutes. I enjoyed the drink but hope it comes out faster next time. I love za'atar baked goods! It's like this mashed seed mixture with a unique taste, savory nutty and almost sour? Kinda wish they had a flatbread with this. Chicken musakhan was tasty! They can warm it up. The sweet pastries weren't the freshest though. The chocolate croissant was stale. The kataifi on the Dubai croissant was soft instead of crisp. At least it wasn't super sweet. They just opened so turn over rate for the sales may be low. Looking forward to trying their milk cakes next! Customer service is nice and helpful. I do suggest assigning order numbers to each transaction. My order was finally done and the person calling it out just said all the items. Number system would work better. read more

The staff were super nice but service was a bit slow, I wasn't in a rush so it wasn't a huge deal. The matcha had too much milk for my preference and I had my cheese fatayer warmed up but it was still cold in the center. Newest Yemeni coffee spot in the area and they did not miss with the location. Spacious, vibrant interior with plenty of seating! You can study, work, catch up with a friend, or just post up with a drink. Workers are very kind -- Walked in and was greeted right away. Helped me through the menu since I wasn't sure what to get and made me feel like a regular even though it was my first time. Place is also nicely ventilated which is a small detail but goes a long way when you're planning to sit for a while. A lot of cafes get stuffy. Not this one. The Sana'a latte was the move -- Got it iced with ginger and cinnamon. The honey was the star, perfectly blended so you tasted it in every sip without it being overwhelming or syrupy sweet. Ginger and cinnamon added warmth even on ice. Smooth, balanced, didn't need to add anything. Overall, great spot to stop by after the gym. I've been to a couple different locations of Sana'a Cafe and keep wanting to love it but maybe it's just not for me. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and it was somewhat busy. We ordered an iced adeni chai and another drink I can't remember. I was asked what sweetness level I wanted and chose regular. The drinks took a really long time to come out- almost 30 min. Then when I tasted it, it was very bland in sweetness and flavor. I wanted to ask if they could sweeten it more, but the limited counter space doesn't allow much contact with the workers, so I had to wait even longer to get someone's attention which I eventually did. We love Qamaria so when we saw this place opened much closer to us, we were eager to try it out. Bonus points because they were showing the world cup! Rating Breakdown: 2/2 Stars for Taste -- My husband and I both ordered the Mofawar, but his was iced and mine was hot. When I picked up my order, the barista offered to "cool it down" for me and I declined, wondering why anyone would ever do that. Then I opened the lid to take a sip and saw the volcanic steam erupt out the top and realized the error of my ways. 10 minutes later, I still scalded my tongue lol. Don't be me -- be humble and cool down the drink unless your tongue was made to drink molten lava. I love cardamom, its floral profile complemented the silky smooth texture of the cream coffee. If you like your coffee on the strong side, you're in the right place. We also ordered a Dubai milk cake. I am not usually a huge fan of milk cake, but something about the chocolate and evaporated milk go well together to make this dessert perfectly "not too sweet". 1/1 Stars for Value -- It's $6 for 16oz so it's definitely not cheap but it's such an upgrade from your typical chain brew. My one gripe is that the food items are not labeled with prices so you kind of let your stomach/eyes take the wheel...and your wallet. They also advertise 20% off if you order through their app but, as of 6/20, their Android app is not functional. 1/1 Stars for Customer Service -- The server saw that we had two toddlers with us and was kind enough to bring us our order. He even came back to bring us forks and napkins. We didn't see any high chairs but they had booth seating we could wedge our kiddos in. It might just be a training gap, but my go to drink from any Sana'a cafe is the iced Mofawar and am familiar with how it should taste. I had a horrible first experience since the barista first made it without cream and when he took it back, just added it on top. My drink ended up tasting like a watered down iced coffee and couldn't even taste the cardamom. My drink also took about 20 min, but the other cafe take a shorter time even though they also make it fresh. I'll give it one more chance because of how close it is, but right now, I'll stick to the other locations. read more

Sana'a Cafe looks really nice, the lighting is warm, and the couches are super comfortable. Shafa and Addan are friendly, helpful, and were really patient with us while we were checking out the menu. I always appreciate super pleasant people. Definitely a great spot. Redbull mojito and Biscoff Latte were excellent, and the biscoff dessert was paired well with the latter. Hello, I have to give Sanaa Coffee a second chance--and more importantly, give credit where credit is due. I live nearby, and every morning before getting on 880 for work, I usually stop at Starbucks for my morning coffee. When Sanaa Cafe first opened, I decided to give the new coffee shop a try. Unfortunately, my first experience was really disappointing. There were two young guys working, and when I asked about the ingredients in one of the drinks, one of them actually asked me what was in it. I jokingly told him, "I don't know--I don't work here." I then ordered an iced mocha latte, which was made by one of the guys with the puffy hair. Unfortunately, the drink tasted like watery dirt. It was honestly one of the worst coffee drinks I had ever had, and the customer service didn't make the experience any better. After that, I didn't come back for over a month. I went right back to Starbucks and honestly had no plans to return. But for some reason, this morning I decided to give Sanaa one more chance--and I'm glad I did. As soon as I walked in, I was immediately greeted and welcomed by a young lady named Gianna. I asked her about the different coffee drinks, and she was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and took the time to explain everything to me. I ordered the mocha latte again, and let me tell you--it was AMAZING! It was honestly the best mocha latte I have ever had. Gianna completely changed my opinion of Sanaa. Not only was the coffee excellent, but her customer service was outstanding. She even thanked me for coming in, which really showed that she cared about the customer experience. Sometimes a first impression isn't the final impression, and Gianna proved that to me today. Five stars for Gianna and the mocha latte! You definitely won me back, Sanaa. Visited on July 24, 2026 I've been coming here for months now, and I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience. A huge shoutout to Shafa and Adan! Their energy is amazing, and they make every visit enjoyable. It was easily one of the best coffee shop experiences I've ever had. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and always have great recommendations. The coffee is absolutely delicious. It gives me all the energy I need and definitely gets me going, if you know what I mean! My favorite is the one with a little bit of ginger in it--it was recommended by the staff, and I'm so glad they suggested it. They've also recommended some of the sweets, and every single one has been fantastic. The team really knows their menu and consistently points me in the right direction. So convenient, within walking distance from my gym. Went with a group, I ordered the Sana'a latte, with oat milk. My mom ordered the Yemeni latte. We both got them iced and lightly sweetened, love that they sweeten with honey. Our drinks were delicious, but our food was incredible! We ordered the chicken fatayer and biscoff cheesecake to share with the group. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and flavorful, and the cheesecake was light and very yummy. Service was so friendly, they brought most items to our table which was a nice touch. We loved the ambiance, the seating was so comfy! Cozy cafe, ideal to work from. It's a quieter and smaller cafe than most other late night chains, which to me is part of the appeal. The quality of the latte was perfect, I ordered a caramel macchiato, and it was ready very quickly. I tried it for the first time during the soft opening and there was no music, which actually I really loved. I wish they would keep it without music, as it was actually more peaceful that way.
