My yard has 3 large old mango trees that needed major trimming and removal of accumulated leaves and branches. Sherwood Jr came out within a day to walk the property and provide an estimate. He was able to accommodate my scheduling request. The crew showed up on time every day for 3 days. They did marvelous work trimming back all 3 trees and cleaned up after they were done. Communication was clear and friendly. The price was fair. These guys are the best and I plan to be a repeat customer read more

These guys were great as always. We needed their help with a property in Aiea that was completely overgrown with neglected trees, a banyan too close to the house, palms planted right next to a slab, trees overhanging the roof and causing moisture and decay problems on the roof. My wife went through all the trees and areas that needed trimming and they did an amazing job over the course of 3 days. They asked us to visit on the third day just to ensure that we were happy with everything! We totally were. They even worked with our new neighbor and removed some stumps for them at a great price to build up goodwill (grinding the trees makes a lot of noise). The neighbor was so happy that they got the stumps removed that they allowed Sherwood to move in some of their equipment using the neighbors access so they could get to some of the trees further back in our property. Overall it's a win-win situation - I'm happy, the neighbors are happy, and Sherwood has another great success. All debris was removed and cleaned up, and they had moved anything breakable out of the way prior to doing any trimming. read more

I have a small rental property that was overgrown with Areca palms and money trees. There was also a large mango tree stump that another tree service had not effectively removed. It took two days, but Sherwood's did an outstanding professional job removing several trees and cutting back other trees. They took extra care to not disrupt a tenant that had a panax hedge that needed trimming. Their stump grinding left the soil smooth and ready for new plants to grow in. These guys are really professional with the heart of the best kind of family business. Sherwood Jr. was great to work with, good communicator and quick to respond to all my questions and requests. The first time I worked with them, years ago, they removed a 40-foot Norfolk pine stuck in a hard to reach corner and did a perfect job. I recommend them highly and look forward to working with them again. read more

This is the 2nd time we've used them, and we were willing to wait till they were available. They are insured and have an arborist. Very professional, they obtained the proper permit and gave notice to those parked on the road alongside our property. Really nice family run team who take pride in their work and treat their projects like their own. They cleaned up and it was done in half a day! read more

Heard from this company owners son that there were some health problems that probably caused some problems with calls, etc. I hope that the owners health improves and wish him the best. read more

They showed up on time and did a great job! I was thinking I had to clean the rain gutters with all the leaves left after they removed a tree but they cleaned it all out and removed all of the rubbish! They did a great job and the cost was very very reasonable! Alan Itomura read more

Shearwood was hired to trim some trees out of a house that we were moving out of. We were still in the process of moving out when their crew came. Most of her items removed from the house but we still have some items in the living room in the garage. When we returned we noticed the side doors open and my daughters 5 gallon bottle of coins that she's been saving since birth were missing as well as all of my battery operated hand tools from the garage. When we check the neighbor surveillance cameras, it showed that Shearwood crew entering our property and removing the items. At lease we still good for a few more days. And they were not authorize to enter the house. When I contacted the owners of the tree trimming company he admitted that he hires some subcontractors to a company who hire convicted felons for the smaller jobs. He profusely apologized and asked I don't call the police and he will reimburse me for the item stolen. As fair estimate was $1000. Months went by and I never received payment from Shearwood, he quit taking my phone calls. After I threaten to call the authorities almost a year after the incident he sent me a check for $250 and told me take it or leave it, I would not trust this company to be on your property without supervision read more

Had a great experience hiring these guys to remove 3 stumps. Sherwood can to my house and gave me a great quote within in 48 hours of me calling them. Then had his guy come out and remove my stumps just as quick. His guys were Friendly and cleaned up after themselves upon completion. Highly recommend Sherwood's Tree Service. read more

The first time I used Sherwood's was back in the late 80's. I was extremely satisfied with the work from back then. I have since then (mid 90's) had them come back every 3-4 years to trim my mango tree. They still do an excellent job. I especially appreciate how much effort they put into cleaning up afterwards. The only drawback is they are extremely busy. So they might not get to you when you need them to. But it was well worth the wait. read more

Sherwoods tree service has been taking care of my huge & beautiful Monkey Pod Trees & two avocado trees for several years. My monkey Pods are probably over 100 yrs old. I trust these guys to keep my trees happy. Competitive & fair pricing. The guys work real hard. At our last trimming it was windy & pouring & they just kept on going, no problems. On time, safe, best prices, cleaned up & gentlemen. (I have kids, so gentlemen behavior is a must) Many of my neighbors use them as well & say they're stand up guys!! read more

Sherwood Jr. was very professional when he came out to do an estimate for our overgrown family mango tree. We quickly received clear communication about the cost, timeline, and what we would expect. They even took the extra steps to obtain a permit and placed signs so that street-parked cars could make arrangements to park away from the work area. When the day came to do the trimming, Sherwood Jr. arrived ahead of the crew to make sure we were prepared to have persons enter our property and that the area for them to work was cleared. They arrived with everything they needed to finish the job safely, quickly, and cleanly. Even though there was a delicate area they needed to work around, they didnt damage any of our other plants or property. The crew was also polite and caring of us and our family tree. This was our second time having Sherwoods Tree Service help us with our trimming needs in 10 years and we are glad we didnt consider another company. read more

I had a very large monkeypod tree over 50 years old that we decided to remove from our yard. I got 3 quotes, but went with the highest bid because it was just a couple hundred difference and they also were referred to me my people I respect. I was impressed with their equipment, knowledge, experience and expertise. I also liked that it was a family business of 3 brothers, carrying on their father's business. Absolutely no problems, they cleaned up the area and when it came time to pay, they were a hundred dollars cheaper than quoted. They also delivered the wood to a mill to recycle the large trunks. How perfect is that?!?! read more

They came and cut down our lychee and puakenikeni tree and used a stump grinder so that the job was complete. This was more than three years ago. They did such an excellent job that my neighbor hired them too to cut down his "very large" mango trees. Very professional, all in the family, so they have a vested interest in doing a good job. I'm leaving a review now because i'm on yelp to hire them again. read more

Cut the tree, but left a ton, yes a ton or more of stumps, dying branches behind for me to clean up. He did call me back and he sent a crew to clean up. Sherwood knows more about trees than anyone. I was annoyed at how slowly we resolved a service issue, but what is really important is that he took care of business. read more

Called company up at 8:00am. Spoke to the woman in the office. Got a call back from one of Sherwood's sons. Worked out a fair price and same day a giant cactus and a tree were gone from my property. This business is a true family affair. Fantastic workers and super fast. Can't be any happier. read more

Sherwood's Tree Service is excellent! Sherwood Jr. was personable and easy to talk to and the crew that came were professional and friendly. Their clean up was spotless. They don't hack away at the branches; they manicure the trees. Thank you Sherwood's Tree Service! The three trees look beautiful. You did a wonderful job!! read more

Once again excellent service my mom has been having Sherwood and his crew come for years and trim her large large trees they are very reliable affordable, trustworthy and do an excellent job read more

Sherwood Gould has been taking care of my trees in Nuuanu for 20 years. You can trust him and his sons to get the job done.

Had Sherwood prune a number of trees as well as remove one entirely. This family business was professional and curteous. A one-and-a-half day job, they cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. Noteworthy was their effort to selectively prune crossed branches, sprouts going awry, and selectively thinning out banyans, rubber trees, and our Christmas berry. Highly recommended. Sherwood will be our first call when our jungle grows back! read more

Called them for a quote - initially good response time...and was BLOWN AWAY when someone answered after 6:30pm as I was expecting an answering machine, but got a live person instead. However, only reason I was calling at that time 1) Because I was working and can only call when I get home. 2) Their estimator who came out to give us a quote and tried to follow up on his cell, but never responded to my call and had to follow up with the main office. Plus their price was a couple hundred $ higher than another company... And that company I went with has a Certified Arborist, and BTW that tree service did an AWESOME job on our mango tree!! read more

Just had several huge and tall trees taken out yesterday. Scary part was that they all were overgrowing directly over our rental cottage roof. They were all very careful and professional. Not one bit of damage to the roof or branches falling onto it! They were all very nice guys to talk to and Sherwood is a true professional at what he does. I will definitely recommend them to others. When it is time for more work to be done, I will call them again for sure. One added bonus...they clean up after themselves so well that you would never even know they did work in your yard! read more

The best tree service ever. Trees cut just the way I wanted them to be cut. No damage to my other plants or anything else...and they left my yard cleaner than when they got here! They work fast and efficiently as a team. All at a fair price. Can't ask for more. Thanks again Sherwood and team. read more

Second time I have used their service. It was a large job cutting back very tall Hau trees. They cut back the trees, but there was a miscommunication and Jonathan had to return twice. He more than made up for the issue and went beyond my expectations. I would highly recommend this company. read more

We had a big job to do. Researched multiple companies, definitely wanted a legit, licensed, and insured company. A friend referred Sherwood's and made a call to get an estimate. We were satified with the price as it seemed to be really fair. Definitely made the right decision going with this company. John and the crew showed up and not only did the job but went above and beyond my expectations. Would add on stars if it was possible. Definitely recommend this family operated business to others. read more

I was amazed at how thorough these guys are! Sherwood's was the low bidder for the contract for the cleanup in the graveyard near my home. They did a superb job, cleaned up and even put some nice finishing touches. Sherwood's Tree Service rocks!! read more

Hired them to cut down my lychee tree which had grown through my garage ceiling. They did an excellent job of removing the tree and didn't damage any of the structure. They did a much better job than I hoped could be done. They were honest, quoted me accurately, knew exactly what they were doing, and cleaned up after themselves so that I didn't have to do anything after they left. This is a family business so they know everyone who showed with them. Very, very trustworthy. I'd highly recommend hiring them to anyone who needs to remove a tree. read more
