Hapa landscaping did my yard and I paid over 15 thousand dollars. They promised I wouldn't have weeds coming threw the rocks and stepping stones they put down.(all weeds coming threw) They said the plants they planted was good for my area. (they all died) they did replace the plants once. Fifteen thousand dollars is a lot of money for me. now I'm in the process of redoing my yard slowly. My suggestion is to do your own yard slowly. Don't pay for something you'll have to redo. Doing your own yard will be half the price. VERY,VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER!!!!! read more

The overall value when compared to the end result is lagging. Have had them out 3 times since installation for leaks and the return time for service is behind the power curb. Not to through them completely under the bus because it could be faulty piping but perhaps, by chance it is the piping, the burden still falls on them and their choice of products used. The initial contact is virtual as you are asked to complete some general questions of the project that you have in mind. Hapa makes an appointment to come to the site to assess the situation for an estimate. So far, so good. Brant shows up on time and asks questions and makes suggestions. He says that he will call in a few days, We do not hear back, so we send an email to Hapa. No response. It's a shame because manyn good reviews, great photos, but no follow up. If Hapa wants to decline the job, that's fine. However, professional courtesy was lacking. read more

I contacted Hapa Landscaping after a previous landscaper didn't fix my sprinkler leak. Hapa did have to reschedule once, but Makenna kept me up to date, so rescheduling was not a problem. Hapa sent Taylor, and he found the two additional leaks in the same area that the first company did not. Taylor took off part of my fence (little crosshatch to keep mongoose out), dug further under the fence, and fixed the additional leaks. It was beastly work, and Taylor did a great job. He put it all back together again afterwards. I appreciate his thoroughness and his attention to detail. I prefer to pay in cash after my bank card was replicated and my checking account was drained several years ago in California. I know thats a pain for all parties involved, especially when Hapa has a quickbook system so you can pay online. However, Hapa was willing to oblige my cash only payment. Mr. Montone let me know he was going to be in the area and could save me a drive into town. This was fate for me as I was barely keeping it together that morning. My senior soul dog had taken a sudden decline in his health and I had just scheduled with the vet and crematory. I was barely keeping it together when he asked me if I was ok, and offered immediate assistance even though it was completely unrelated to why he was there. That quick, simple act of kindness, thoughtfulness, and compassion, in that moment of extreme sadness was impactful for me. 10/10 would recommend Hapa for your irrigation or landscaping needs. read more

I've used Hapa Landscaping for several projects over the last five years, They fixed my sprinkler system, updated landscaping on parts of my yard, and installed low voltage lighting to illuminate trees in front of my house. Recently, I contacted them to replace gravel filled area with grass. Santiago came for a site visit, listened to my thoughts on improving the curb appeal, and suggested synthetic turf as a low maintenance and eco friendly solution. I was skeptical at first but was blown away with the appearance and texture of modern artificial turf. The Synlawn product he suggested is not plastic. It's a USDA certified bio based product. This company is amazing! We called Brant while building our new construction home to install their top of the line putting green for our backyard. As many people know how crazy it gets building a house with timing and the mess , Brant and his team helped tremendously stay on top of it and they were very clean. The entire team was professional and worked really quick. Our home was surrounded by stamped black concrete which was a worry for getting damaged, but Brant and his team were clean and respectful of things around them. They went above and beyond, even adding a bunker to chip out of for no extra cost. By far the best experience I've had working with turf installation. I did have turf installed at my other home and it didn't even compare! If you're hesitant on making a decision I would definitely choose Brant because of the honesty and hard work his team puts in. These guys are super solid, their hardscape team are beast. These guys knocked out my wall rebuild in 3 days and were out there in the pouring rain. Knocked 1 star off b/c there was some confusion on the scope of work ( they resolved it pretty well ) and they left a bit of a mess in the front. Took maybe half hour for me to clean up. Will defenitly be using these guys again. They do tend to cost a little bit more than other companies....but they actually show up when they say and do great work. read more

A week later we met with Santiago and went over our project. He seemed to be interested and said he would work with us and send us a draw up and estimate the following week. They were willing to work with me, a homeowner with a small home and yard, when other companies I contacted were not as interested. Dude named Brant said system test $110 upfront over the phone without even providing any service. Then says hourly charge for labor something like $95/hr. He tried to sound hard and said that 'its just how we roll'. This was his response for my request to fix 1 sprinkler head that broke off cuz I drove over it with my truck. I watched You Tube video and fixed it my self for less than 20 bucks. Just bought a new sprinkler head from Home Depot and screwed in a new sprinkler head. Hapa, more like hewa. We contracted Hapa Landscaping to put down turf in our back yard. They did a really thorough job, and it turned out very well. They were great about removing the rock that was there (even redistributing it around the yard into areas where it was needed) and the crew were friendly, professional and respectful of our property. Only negative was that they were coming from Kaneohe (we're in upper Makakilo) so they didn't get started until around 9:30 each morning, and left around 2 or 2:30 in the afternoon, so our small back yard took a week (actually, I think it was 7 business days, but I can't remember exactly, so benefit of the doubt...) to finish. Since our dogs were being restricted from the area, this caused some stress. I totally get that they can't work in a downpour (although they powered through light rain!) but perhaps giving an estimate of how many sunny days a project will take in the quoting process might make things easier for clients. I would definitely recommend Hapa Landscaping, and would use them in the future. read more

I called three landscaping companies on a Tuesday. Hapa Landscaping was one of them. Of the three they were the only one to have someone answer the phone in a polite and professional manner.
