THE OWNER IS A LAIR ! One day i saw two of his crew men trimming a tree on top of my car. I saw them drop tree branches , leaves, and saw dust all over my car. They cause nearly $1000 of damages to my car. He admitted to me that he had problems with the two crewmen. The two crewmen admitted to me that they had problems with the owner of this business. vice versa. The owner gave me false excuses and denied it. The owner was reluctant to cooperate with me and own up to his responsibility. I file a claim against his insurance company Atain insurance company. The owner denied ever been there to his insurance company. Thereby his insurance company denied my claim with an excuse that they were never there. THAT IS VERY DISHONEST AND UNETHICAL. read more

They came out and trimmed my mango tree, and actually did a pretty good job. When I called him back two years later, he remembered my mango tree and we set an appointment to meet at my north shore house. When the date came i had to take off work to drive up to the North Shire to meet with him, however he did not show up at our agreed upon time. When i called him to see if he was late, Jon said he "got busy and forgot to call..." Then Jon joked about missing our previously agreed upon appointment thinking it was no big deal that I had to take off work to drive an hour to go meet him. Very unprofessional. He said hat he would come out and give me a super discount for doing the tree, since he totally flakes on me, so I decided to call him back a few weeks later, he answered the phone, said he was busy and that he call me back, of which, he never did. I proceeded to leave him four other messages over the same number of months and he just keeps ignoring my phone calls, and never return a call, a text message or an email. There are other PLENTY of more reliable tree trimmers out there that will do just as good work and actually be professional and return calls. Really disappointed in Jon and his lack of respect for his customers. It's not the type of service we were looking for and certainly had no respect for our time. read more

This is the best, most professional company I've hired to work on our protected banyan tree the past 40+ years. The trimmers are all experienced and well-trained, not just 20-something pickups. Very strict supervision during the work. Safety first. Fair priced. But that word PROFESSIONAL says it best for me. No property damage. Left our yard spotless. Fast. Has my full recommendation. Bob. read more

So the owner called me back and explained that the scheduling system on their website was only up a few days so they were still working out the bugs. Same with the call center. That was done to actually improve their customer service. So again, still working out the bugs. I really do appreciate him taking the time to call me and apologize and to explain what happened. I understand that things go wrong, even with the best intentions. In the end, would I give them another try in the future? Yes, I would. Especially if I needed an arborist. read more

These guys are great arborists. I refer all my Oahu friends to them. I sat under a tree they did at the Moana Surfrider and could tell that they really know how to prune trees without screwing them up. If they can do a good job there, of course they can do good on your trees! read more

Taylor and George just finished up our huge job we had for them. This is our second time using this company. These guys worked non stop on our property all day, were so professional and listened to all my requests even when I can be a pain!! It looks fabulous. We are always pleased with everything when they leave and our palms and other various trees look great. I couldn't recommend them more highly and will continue to always use them in the future. Thank you again for all your hard work and care with our landscaping. read more

Oahu Tree /works was my lowest bid and was Jon was very accommodating to getting my trees cut and trimmed. The two manned crew arrived which I thought would have been a three man job. They both did an awesome job, the tree was cut down a bit much more than I thought it was going to be, but great job. read more

Oahu Tree Works recently trimmed my neighbor's giant banyan tree which was greatly impacting our yard. Hats off to Jamilee and her crew for doing a great job at balancing a difficult situation. She was courteous and professional and kept a smile on her face. They did a good job keeping me informed and cleaning up after the trimming. I would hire this company in a heart beat to take care of additional trimming or trimming on some of my job sites. Again...very nice people to work with - all was done in a professional manner. We appreciated it. read more

Jon runs a great operation. I'm an arborist in Los Angeles and admire the work his company does. He's passionate about trees and quality tree care. He & his crew take care of some of the island's most historic trees. He's got a top notch crew & is just a cool guy all around. Highly recommend Oahu Tree Works! read more

I contacted Jon, the owner, based on the recommendation of the state's pioneering arborist and charter member of Aloha Arborist Association. I needed a company that was good at climbing to help me with a very large and old African Tulip at my work. The tree is surrounded by our business, another business and a home. There was no margin for error in lowering the cuttings. Jon was very professional from beginning to end. They did a great job on pruning the tree which needed a lot of work. Jon is a certified Arborist and because of his specialized knowledge he was able to point out some ideas to deal with other tree issues on our property that none of the other tree trimmers we have worked with ever mentioned. I highly recommend Oahu Tree Works. Excellent job Jon. read more

Wow, what an incredible crew. Of the three bidders, Oahu Tree Works came in a little higher than the lowest bid but I felt confident and wanted to work with this company. I was so impressed with the professionalism of Audrey during the walk through and the speedy written proposal, that I recommended them to the Association Board of Directors. They did not disappoint. I later found out that Audrey was also one of the climbers and has awards for climbing in the US. Who knew there was such a thing. I will hire them again to do future arbor work. read more

John and his crew worked on three large trees in front of my home. It was a tough location. Old narrow street with lots of traffic, slope, and very tall trees. They did a fantastic job organizing and did not impose upon anyone on my block. Their clean up work was great. And of course the work result was wonderful. I was actually going to hire them to remove the trees. John pointed out their value. Now that the work is done, I can see what he means. Saved a few trees and helped my property value and my privacy. Thank You! read more

Rocky and crew were great! On time, excellent service, reasonably priced and they have insurance!

Oahu Tree Works trimmed our overgrown and totally shapeless mango trees and did an OUTSTANDING JOB! Our trees look beautiful, aesthetically pleasing to the eye (light and airy and can actually see the branches between the leaves), and gives me great pleasure to look out my window and see the street and its activities between the leaves (too thick and bulky and filled with leaves before). The crew that worked on the trees arrived promptly, actually had an arborist on staff (Charlie) to supervise the work, did an excellent job of trimming the trees as well as hauling the debris off the property. Woohoo! This review is as good as it gets! read more

Jonathan and his team have taken outstanding care of our 70'+ tall trees for years now, including one on the State's exceptional tree register. They are always professional, prompt, courteous and friendly - and they clean up nicely too. I trust Jonathan's judgment regarding the health of our trees and safety of our property. They are terrific to work with! read more

I just had Oahu Tree Works do a fairly large trimming of some large (banyan) and small (koa) trees in our yard. Jon's estimate for the work to be done was very fair and he was willing to work with me the day of the job. His crew (Charlie, Doug, and Taylor) did a fantastic job paying great attention to detail and doing a terrific job of clean up after. It was money well-spent. I would recommend OTW to anyone needing landscaping services. Thanks guys! read more
