THE OWNER IS A LAIR ! One day i saw two of his crew men trimming a tree on top of my car. I saw them drop tree branches , leaves, and saw dust all over my car. They cause nearly $1000 of damages to my car. He admitted to me that he had problems with the two crewmen. The two crewmen admitted to me that they had problems with the owner of this business. vice versa. The owner gave me false excuses and denied it. The owner was reluctant to cooperate with me and own up to his responsibility. I file a claim against his insurance company Atain insurance company. The owner denied ever been there to his insurance company. Thereby his insurance company denied my claim with an excuse that they were never there. THAT IS VERY DISHONEST AND UNETHICAL. read more

They came out and trimmed my mango tree, and actually did a pretty good job. When I called him back two years later, he remembered my mango tree and we set an appointment to meet at my north shore house. When the date came i had to take off work to drive up to the North Shire to meet with him, however he did not show up at our agreed upon time. When i called him to see if he was late, Jon said he "got busy and forgot to call..." Then Jon joked about missing our previously agreed upon appointment thinking it was no big deal that I had to take off work to drive an hour to go meet him. Very unprofessional. He said hat he would come out and give me a super discount for doing the tree, since he totally flakes on me, so I decided to call him back a few weeks later, he answered the phone, said he was busy and that he call me back, of which, he never did. I proceeded to leave him four other messages over the same number of months and he just keeps ignoring my phone calls, and never return a call, a text message or an email. There are other PLENTY of more reliable tree trimmers out there that will do just as good work and actually be professional and return calls. Really disappointed in Jon and his lack of respect for his customers. It's not the type of service we were looking for and certainly had no respect for our time. read more

So the owner called me back and explained that the scheduling system on their website was only up a few days so they were still working out the bugs. Same with the call center. That was done to actually improve their customer service. So again, still working out the bugs. I really do appreciate him taking the time to call me and apologize and to explain what happened. I understand that things go wrong, even with the best intentions. In the end, would I give them another try in the future? Yes, I would. Especially if I needed an arborist. read more

I contacted Jon, the owner, based on the recommendation of the state's pioneering arborist and charter member of Aloha Arborist Association. I needed a company that was good at climbing to help me with a very large and old African Tulip at my work. The tree is surrounded by our business, another business and a home. There was no margin for error in lowering the cuttings. Jon was very professional from beginning to end. They did a great job on pruning the tree which needed a lot of work. Jon is a certified Arborist and because of his specialized knowledge he was able to point out some ideas to deal with other tree issues on our property that none of the other tree trimmers we have worked with ever mentioned. Wow, what an incredible crew. Of the three bidders, Oahu Tree Works came in a little higher than the lowest bid but I felt confident and wanted to work with this company. I was so impressed with the professionalism of Audrey during the walk through and the speedy written proposal, that I recommended them to the Association Board of Directors. They did not disappoint. Our trees look beautiful, aesthetically pleasing to the eye (light and airy and can actually see the branches between the leaves), and gives me great pleasure to look out my window and see the street and its activities between the leaves (too thick and bulky and filled with leaves before). The crew that worked on the trees arrived promptly, actually had an arborist on staff (Charlie) to supervise the work, did an excellent job of trimming the trees as well as hauling the debris off the property.
