This company provided me with excellent service. After Tropical Storm Lala, I needed to trim back 3 trees on the edge of my property. Siosi (owner) and his men trimmed my trees exactly as I specified and took great care not to damage my old wooden fence and not to litter the neighbor's yard. Siosi is easy to work with and he aims to please. He is a certified arborist and is company is insured. Both my wife and I are very pleased with the work done. read more

I have nothing but excellent reviews for these two big fellows. Two older gentleman landscapers completely shredded my trees, shrubbery & vines I had in my yard! I was amazed because they looked older than me and l'm close to70 years old. They had used a wood-chipper which made the job so easy! Finished on time at the end of the day!! They also cut down a few extra trees for me for a small fee. I would definitely call these two fellas back for another job!! read more

Disappointed in Siosi. He was very nice and professional, felt like he was trustworthy. Unfortunately, he did not complete the job that was stated in his proposal. He did trim my mango tree but failed to cut some of the roots that was lifting up my sidewalk foundation. I paid him before the job was completed, before I checked his work, which was my fault. I checked his work after he left with his crew and noticed the roots were not cut. I texted him to question if he was going to cut the roots and he said "no". I sent him a copy of his proposal and emphasized the "cutting of the roots from the foundation" as an additional cost and part of the complete job. He said he"ll do it when he came back to do some additional work for the other half of the property which belongs to another family member. This additional work wouldn't happen until next year so a kindly asked Siosi if would come asap to complete the job. I never heard from him again. I'm using someone else to do the remaining work on my families property. Unfortunately he is not a man of his word. read more

Did a great job of laying turf in our yard and repairing a stone wall! Fast and great work!

Siosi, owner of Ofa Landscaping is highly unreliable, poor customer service, concrete work he and his team provided was below average and the clean up was unacceptable. Background: September 2019, this business was hired to do a large concrete project. It was to provide walk way surrounding my entire house with mutual understanding that they must consider adding flagstone on top of their concrete job in a few years. They did not. The job came out poorly. I reluctantly paid him in full which I regret. He agreed to return to repair his mistakes when I'm ready to do the flagstone. Concrete Mistakes/Problems from Ofa Landscaping: 1. Concrete walkway was built too high in multiple areas. They did not take into consideration of the future flagstone project. 2. Significant flooding occurred in my carport when it rains because Ofa Landscaping poured the concrete too high next to the existing carport concrete. 3. Crooked walk way. They did return and tried to make it better. It didn't work since the concrete had already cured. The crookedness is permanent. 4. Concrete splatter. There was large amount of concrete splattered all over the drywall and footing throughout my house where they poured the concrete. It made the project looked so unprofessional. They did not do much to to rectify this situation. Very disappointed. 5. Siosi agreed to return to shave/repair the concrete where it's needed as they built it too high. I wrote our agreement on my final payment check to Siosi. It was to hold our agreement accountable in writing. Current situation (4/12 - 9/24/2023): In April this year, I reached out to Siosi, asking him to return to fulfill the concrete work that we agreed upon and showed him a copy of the check with our agreement written on it. Over the last 5+ months, Siosi rescheduled our appointments 10 times due to various excuses. They range from he is too busy with other jobs, he has family obligations such as is going to church, attending family party, his workers stayed up too late from partying and can't work the next day, covid illness himself and his worker that took over 2 months to recover, etc. It was disappointing to keep hearing his excuses. I took off multiple days off from work to be home on our scheduled appt dates. He frequently informs me the last minute or just no show, leaving me hanging. I rescheduled 2 times with him and I always kept him informed ahead of time. I understand my repair job is not a big project for his business now. He already got paid from our original project but any ethical business would honor their agreement with their client. He did not. I have included some pictures and text messages that he and I exchanged since April to substantiate my situation. Bottom, I DO NOT RECOMMEND OFA LANDSCAPING. THIS BUSINESS IS UNPROFESSIONAL. THEIR WORK IS POOR QUALITY. read more

Siosi and his crew was very friendly and did an awesome job of clearing part of my Property on the hill side which was pretty steep, they cleared my property from all the trees and shrubs, This one tree was about 3 stories high, It was in my neighbors property, blocking all our views to the Koolau mountians, he dragged all the cut branches to my side, and everything was cleared away, This one tree was blocking my view, and it was on my neighbors property, all branch cuts that fell into my neighbors Property, he said he doesn't want any branches on his hill side, He has no access to his property, I thought my neighbor would be very appreciative that his trees were also cut down at my cost. Lose Money Neighbor, Thank you Siosi read more

Professional, clean, easy to communicate with, friendly worker and remembered each tree I asked to do what to. He is an arborist, too. I thought it would be a 2 day job but Siusi and his nephew knocked it out before traffic hour! Come to find out, he does masonry, junk hauling and other things. Good to know someone that can do a variety of jobs, gives free estimates and does a great completion of job. read more

11-30-2020 I checked on Yelp for tree trimmers and sent in a request for a quote from this business after reading the reviews as soon as I woke up this morning. I received a notification on email through Yelp that my request was viewed at 5:35 a.m. yes! Being the type of person I am, called the number from Yelp and spoke to the owner, Siosi at 8 a.m. once open. A very friendly and likeable Siosi agreed to come over between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. I was blown away when Hubs said he's here. How do you know? (as rambunctious fur baby hadn't made a fast alarming dash to the door). He said I saw his truck. Immediately I got a phone call informing me that Siosi had arrived. So efficient! We looked over the repair needed on our moss rock wall and what trees I needed trimmed down to 5 feet. We walked the perimeter of the yard. I asked him when he could do the job. He said this week. Excited hooray going off in my head. As we walked back to the front yard I asked for his quote. In my younger days I'd always call for 3 estimates on any job but now thanks to Yelp and the reviews, in 2020 this is the 2 Nd job I went with just one business based on what I read and the bond I felt with the owner. Siosi left saying see you tomorrow. Happy me! Hopefully this will keep hubs on the ground and off any more ladders, at least for a little while. May post again once the job is completed read more

Siosi answered my text promptly, gave me his license and insurance without prompting and gave us a reasonable price for removal of old bricks in our backyard and concreting the area in. Right after that, we hired him to refinish our front wall. He added the painting of our wall and didn't charge us extra. His crew were very friendly and hard working. Anything I wanted touched up they did. They are even mounting my new mailbox for me on the newly stucco and painted wall. read more

What a pleasure doing business with Sioisi Tuavao and his crew. Did a wonderful job fixing up a crumbling rock wall that we needed to repair. Did a fantastic job cleaning up afterwards. Cost was reasonable and Siosi even went beyond what was agreed to and added extras to beautify the rock wall. Siosi and his guys were not just extremely hard workers but also very pleasant people. Make working with them much easier. I highly recommend Ofa Landscaping and Masonry to anyone needing a stone wall repaired or erected. read more

Awesome response time. Owner was very friendly and experienced with what needed to be done.

The owner sent his nephew to trim my coconut trees, I asked are there more guys coming to help you? His reply in a humbled and reassuring response " I can do this" one man in under an hour two coconut trees with a cane knife and all trimmings raked and loaded in his truck and he was off to the convenient center to dump trimmings. John was a very nice and courteous worker, I highly recommend this company! My name is Adam and I live Waimanalo! They got five stars from me! read more

I have been waiting months to have my tree trimmed. They have done my tree several times in the past, but within the last year they say they are coming, and never show up. It's always "sorry, we will do it this week" and as usual, no one shows up. I have had them give me specific days they said they would come so I could be home to pay them. I waited all day, no one showed up. read more

I had Siosi and his crew install artificial turf in the front of my home. It came out amazing!

Ofa did an incredible job. The best price and most responsive when we were comparing quotes, wasn't a huge job but we needed one very tall palm trimmed and they were able to get it done very quickly. Showed up on time, really kind and considerate, finished quickly, cleaned up and hauled away. Would definitely use them again. read more

I contacted Siosi on a Monday for an estimate to have our mango and avocado trees trimmed. He was able to come that afternoon for a site inspection and verbally gave us a quote. I asked for it to be provided via email and he quickly did so and without me asking, also included a copy of his Certificate of Liability Insurance and Contractors License Board Certificate. On the day of the job, his workers arrived 15 minutes early to prep and at 8:00am on the dot, someone was at my front door asking if they could begin working. By 2:00pm, both trees had been trimmed and all the debris cleared. I can't say enough how impressed I am with Siosi's professionalism and I will be sure to recommend him to my friends and family. read more

WHERE did all the 5 star reviews come from? I was so excited to finally get my overgrown backyard manageable after a back injury let it get away from me. Two companies called/emailed and took pics for an 'emailed estimate in a couple days'--then I never heard from them again. This one? Called/emailed/made appointment and then called wanting an earlier one on my landline when I was out but made sure to be here earlier than the appointed time--at the time he wanted to be here was an 2 hour early+ message on my landline x 2. My app stated my ADDRESS, landline no cell dead zone, windward. He acted like he didn't know I was on the Windward side when he called back right after assuring me he was 'on his way' and...yep... Cancelled. Strike one. Rescheduled for the next day and he called and hem'd and hawed (late again) and rescheduled again to today. THIS TIME HE NEVER BOTHERED TO CALL AND BAIL. I called him one hour++ after our appointment and he began with "OOh...my bad..."and started ANOTHER excuse...to which I interrupted him and said "NO. This is THREE excuses, THREE cancellations, THREE days I have changed MY schedule to wait for you=3 strikes!? You are O-U-T. Goodbye. And I hung up before he could give me yet another LAME excuse. THREE companies? Now I struck out. VERY disappointed in not only this company but in the ghosting of the others as well. Common courtesy goes a long way. Was I judged as a female homeowner? My home is mid remodel and torn up, boarded up lanais out makai...building scraps everywhere...the front is ok but back looks pretty beat up. So, did they think I was ...? WTF? All my neighbors have lawn help weekly--welp, I cannot afford that on a retired income. I do it MYSELF. Just needed to get it back to maintenance.... IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN A ONE TIME CLEAN UP, SAY SO AT THE GET-GO. STOP WASTING MY TIME! Be HONEST! I rescheduled my day THREE times here, and also waited for the other two estimates after taking pics of the place (they were both working at neighbors homes so DO come out here)..and then? No further correspondence by email, no answers at all. What, is Kahalu'u the Wild West and no one wants to come out here? Or is this men that ignore females thinking they have to talk with the 'man of the house'? Looks like I'm going to be doing it slowly all by my 68 year old self. FUN. read more

We needed to get our huge avocado tree trimmed down. My husband got in contact with Siosi the owner who came over and offered the best reasonable cost after receiving other estimates from several contractors. We scheduled for a morning job but unfortunately was miscommunicated. If there was zero stars that's what I would choose. They responded right away when I called, came and gave me a free estimate, told me they would get me topsoil, fill my containers w soil, take down my lilikoi vine. They gave me a set date. When the day came they were nowhere to be found so I texted asking him if they would be here. To which you can look in the text message he says that he has errands to run, please reschedule. He did not care to give me a heads up or follow up to let me know beforehand that he could not make it. And what is worse than that is it happened again this morning. Again no text, no call saying that he cannot make it when we already rescheduled to a different day. I texted him to confirm that they would arrive today at 9 AM and as you can see in the text it says he has family matters and cannot make it. Completely reliable people. Will never be using them ever again. read more

Another great job by Siosi and his crew! We first hired him many years ago to remove our huge overgrown mango tree. He did it carefully, cleaned up everything and charged us a more than reasonable price. Fast forward to now when he comes over to prune and shape our paklan and other trees in our yard. He pruned back an incredibly overgrown pandanus and gave solid recommendations on caring for other trees. His workers are very professional; they do the job, clean up everything and go. My husband and I were looking into hiring a professional tree care expert to trim our large mango tree and remove a ficus and an avocado tree. Based on YELP reviews, contacted TWO tree trimming companies contacted. both responded, came to our property to assess and gave an estimate. Then NO FOLLOW UP or return communications after multiple attempts ... no professionalism or consideration by either of them! Wasted a month! HOWEVER, third time is the charm... Ofa Landscaping & Masonry Experts! Siosi immediately responded, appt made, came to assess, estimate given ... and he with his crew, equipment and vehicles, arrived on-time on our agreed date and time and did a wonderful job! Throughout the day, he kept us apprised of work as it was being done, when work completed, had us come check it out! Very professional, knowledgeable about our mango tree care, I.e. trim away from our 2-story roof, the neighbors' and vertically ... but yet we'll still have some fruits! Thank you very much to you Siosi and your crew! We are now in the process of Ofa doing some landscaping! read more

Received a quick response for estimate for removal of huge Haden mango tree and non-productive lychee tree and trimming of Piri mango tree in our backyard in Kailua.  Cost was reasonable compared to other estimates.  Work was scheduled but Siosi texted that they had an opening to start earlier.  We were hesitant, since we were on vacation on another island; but we decided on rely upon Siosi's integrity.  Siosi updated us constantly with photos during the two days of work.  His crew cut down the two trees and ground the stumps while being careful not to damage the roots of the Piri mango tree. He left mulch of the finely ground stump as we had requested. read more

I needed to remove a fairly large tree from my front yard so asked for quotes. I needed someone to remove the tree and the surface roots that were starting to crack the wall and damage my lawnmower. Ofa came out the next day and gave us a very reasonable quote. He also scheduled us for the next morning. That morning the tree was removed and the stump and roots were ground down and the holes were filled in. They also went the extra mile by positioning the 400 lb grinder on a slope so all of the stump could be ground down. They also ground down another tree stump in the area for no extra fee. The area was cleaned and the job took less than 3 hours. I highly recommend Ofa for your job!!! read more

Excellent service from Siosi. They showed up on time and did an amazing job. I will definitely be using them again.

We previously hired Siosi to remove a few trees and a row of hedges, so we reached out to him again about covering our entire front lawn with pet-safe artificial turf (for drought and dog reasons). He always responds very quickly by text or email and gave us a quote within a few days. The entire process of removing the old grass, leveling, applying gravel and sand, and laying down the turf took less than a week. He also convinced us to fix the surrounding rock walls, which were cracked (and crumbling in one part), so we wouldn't have to dig up the artificial turf later to fix the wall. His prices are very reasonable and his workers are friendly and efficient. I appreciate all the work he's done for our yard and will continue to hire him in the future!
