I was recommended by a friend of mine to reach out to Derek. I was skeptical at first on hiring anyone to do my parent's yard. I heard horror stories about how people would take their time to finish a job and ask for more money. Derek was not one of those horror stories. He was honest through out the whole process. Maybe a little forgetful, but a real expert because he has been doing this for a looonnngggg time. Before he started working on the yard, he talked about how he would cut the big tree, get all the small thin trees out of the way, take out all the green waste, and even trim the mango tree (I didn't even think of trimming the mango tree at first! Lol). You can tell that Derek really cared and wanted to help us. His price was extremely reasonable and worked with the budget that I gave him. Derek estimated the whole job would take about 4-5 days, but in reality it took 3 days. He had about 4-6 workers with him and they were FAST. I couldn't believe how efficient they were and even cleaned up some rubbish that were around the yard. Derek is the main guy when climbing the big trees. You can tell by watching that he knows what to do once he is in the tree. He knew how to cut each branches while still being cautious of his surrounding. Once they were done, Derek gave us come recommendation on what we could do next for landscaping. And a couple referral for doing the cement and stairs. Very grateful for Derek and his team! Five Stars! Deriek and his crew did a fantastic job on removing a large banyan tree. The tree had been growing unchecked for years. What made it a challenging job was that the tree was growing on the side of a hill with a utility line behind it. Deriek took down the tree and removed debris without damaging the utility line or any vegetation growing around it. Our neighbor was also impressed with Deriek (she had a lot of questions for him) and she is thrilled that she now has a view from her balcony not a huge tree obstructing the views. Deriek was awesome with the communication on the job. This was really critical for me as I live on Maui and could not be there for the tree removal. 3/13/25 - About four years ago, called All Paradise Tree Service since Loren and his crew did an excellent job for my father a couple of times years ago. No return call. Found out recently it went out of business. In the meantime, tried to trim the branches myself, but finally decided it was too overwhelming and needed to call in the experts. Deriek worked within my budget to have a large mango and jabong tree trimmed. The 3-man crew were polite and respectful and started about an hour after arrival after having breakfast. A 4th man showed up a couple of hours later to start on the mango tree. The two men climbing the trees were exceptionally hard workers and know their stuff. Deriek arrived with the chipper truck late afternoon. He takes pride in what he does, which was seen as he conversed with his workers to improve work that was done. Yard was tidy when they left. It's really hard to find a reliable and reasonable arborist. Never had this problem before, because we didn't have large trees. However the area we live in now, does have large fruit trees and when it's fruit season it's not all sweet tasty delight. If those mangos are high up and the wind turns up, it's like a hail storm. The dogs are usually the first ones to react to the loud thump that shakes the roof, but if it hits the right spot, it feel like a lightning strike as everything shakes. Fortunately a friend mentioned MonkeyMan Tree Care to us. We gave him a call and Deriek answered and said no problem, just have to finish a couple other jobs and he would come and give us an estimate. Cutting/Trimming our out of control Mango tree was quite a delicate situation for it had grown out and over a patio area with a gazebo and fencing. I used MonkeyMan Tree Care earlier this year and called on them again to do additional trimming. The palm trees in my backyard started to get out of hand, growing too tall, defeating the purpose of initially using it as a privacy screen from the adjoining neighbors. Another company wasn't able to do it for over a month. He came in with his young crew and set up and prepared the area neatly making sure the cut trees wouldn't harm anything around the house when they removed the rubbish. We had a MASSIVE overgrown tree in our backyard located across a canal that could only be accessed by using our dinky bridge that was going to fall apart at any given moment. Not only did Monkey Man remove this GIGANTIC tree (seriously people, think BIG), but he rebuilt the flipping bridge, too! Deriek showed up at our place on time and walked us through our entire front and back yard, which we weren't expecting him to do. It was a fun and educational experience! Before I go on it's important to know that our land is full of plants and trees that my husband and I know absolutely nothing about lol. Deriek gave us a tour of our place and explained which plants and trees had pests, he told us the names of the trees and what he would do to fix our overgrown property. He hopped on a phone conference with our landlord (who lives in New York) and explained to all of us his solution for the big tree and what he would do to the garden, as well as his plan to rebuild our bridge so he could access the ginormous tree. He literally showed up THE NEXT DAY and started working. His crew was fast, efficient, and extremely pleasant to have around. They did a FANTASTIC job. I can't stress this enough. His team went above and beyond what they said they'd do - I'm saying this because once the tree was removed it exposed a ton of trash on our hillside that we had no idea about. It was shocking LOL! Great honest work. Came look at the tree gave me a quote base on my budget and what I wanted. They went the extra mile and did the yard to make a walk way to get rid of the branches from the tree. However I knew every tree varies on cost and my tree was massive going over two of my neighbors yard and roof. My dad and brother is happy and their neighbors are extremely happy.
