Today, that appreciation grew even more! I reached out to Jabo's on behalf of Reach Out Honduras as we were gathering donations for our annual fundraiser and Jabo's Ace Hardware was very generous in supporting our event. We are so grateful for their willingness to support a cause that is helping provide educational opportunities and a brighter future for vulnerable children in Honduras. The manager I worked with, Mr. Spalding, was kind, gracious, and genuinely happy to help! As an extra-special surprise, we discovered that he was actually a former Mockingbird Elementary student where I taught years ago! What a fun connection and such a small world! It great to have him back in Coppell. I know businesses often hear from customers when something goes wrong, so I wanted to make sure Jabo's heard from someone who had a genuinely wonderful experience. Betty and another store associate helped me with another purchase. They were helpful, friendly and fun! After 30 years of shopping here at Ace Hardware, I can honestly say that their commitment to their customers and their community is something worth recognizing! Thank you, Jabo Ace Hardware, for your generosity and for having such wonderful people representing your store. Your kindness is very much appreciated! P.Taylor

I'll never shop there again. Over a decision as simple as making a key. They are now prioritizing…read moremaking 4-5$ over taking care of local people. I have shopped there for 12 years, perhaps 2-300$ a year. I brought in a blank key I had purchased many years ago and asked them to make a copy of my house key. They told me I had to buy a new blank or they couldn't do it. People shop at places like Jabos to get the service you can't get at the box stores. The young man couldn't figure out how to operate the machine and wouldn't admit it. Then he got a lady who gave me the "you have to buy from us" routine. Neither were friendly. Then the manager finally came and gave me the same routine. Finally I asked him if he was going to be able to help me. I asked the question in a way that got to the point and made him decide. He stammered around and never did answer. At that point I did say "shit" to which he got immensely offended and started pointing his finger at me. "The new machine won't let us". Surely there is an override and in the rare event that there isn't, I hope the owner takes note. Needless to say, but I won't be returning to the local small business because of two things. Poor attitude and poor service. As the manager of a small store, you have to make big decisions. they made me feel as though I was at one of the big box stores. The sad thing is that I shop there because I had come to enjoy and expect the service, in a world that service is hard to find. Before you judge me, let me ask you. If it was your store which decision would you make. Make a key or 4-5$?

In April 2025, I purchased five different kinds of Dizzy Pig seasonings while picking up an order…read moremy wife had placed for some chlorine. I collected the chlorine from the front desk and made a separate purchase for the seasonings. I didn't use the seasonings until this weekend when I fired up my smoker. It was then that I noticed the "best by" date was from May 2023. While I understand that a "best by" date is just a guideline, two years past that date is quite excessive. I called the store to request an exchange but was told "NO" due to their 30-day policy, which I understand. However, the "manager" repeatedly informed me that seasonings don't expire; they just lose their smell, potency, and flavor. He emphasized multiple times that they were not "expired." Having cooked for over 20 years, I know what happens to seasonings past their prime. When they lose their intended qualities, I typically discard them as they no longer serve their purpose. So, I ask you this: What do you buy seasonings for? The smell? The flavor? The potency? All of these attributes diminish over time. The fact that this store sells products with dates from two years ago is quite concerning. Since the manager offered no assistance, I will be leaving reviews to inform the public that this location sells outdated products and is inflexible with their "policy."
