This is such a small store, but we did end up finding what we needed, and a few things we didn't need but really liked. Three different employees helped us find things and also pointed out a misconception we were having about one of the products we were trying to buy, which was GREATLY appreciated. They have some fantastic options for stocking stuffers or small gifts if you're a big fan of micro-giving like I am (like at the office or just a little basket of thanks or congrats gifts)- anyway I enjoyed my experience at this well organized and well stocked store. Everyone loves anything from The Container Store! They have consistently offered excellent quality items, friendly and helpful team members and a few sales sprinkled in. As luck would have it, I decided to finish out some built-in kitchen cabinets with Elfa sliding baskets, sadly without the Elfa sale happening. Since this built-in sideboard has a 17" depth, I am limited in my choices. I was greeted when I entered and I wanted to just walk around and see what was new since my last visit at another store. Another team member followed up and she was very helpful in selecting the rolling baskets we needed to match what we installed over 10 years ago. I don't know why we didn't do them all at the same time, but it was probably cost prohibitive at the time during our kitchen remodel. We made our way up front to the checkout counter to wait in line, but our sales lady was able to scan and tabulate and finalize our purchase right in our cart! Pretty cool! We didn't need any bags so we were on our way in no time! My receipt was emailed to me and we went home and installed the rolling baskets within the hour! I was nervous since my mother was coming to be living with me and she loves to organize, so I knew a way to keep her busy and happy would be to have a bunch of shelves and organizing things for her to do so I came to the store and I was afraid I would not be able to afford a single thing in here. But they were having a massive sale on their Elfa, and on their clear bins, which I have been watching and wanting for a decade now, but could never afford and they were 50% off for black Friday and the Elfa in the platinum color was also 50% off because they were phasing out the color -- so suddenly everything was within my price range! Oh gosh, if not for Gina & Elaine, I would not have been able to put everything together that I needed!.. Suddenly, the project was no longer daunting and the ladies made it so, so easy! Thank you! It was a little much for the two ladies to do at the towards the end of the night, right as the store was closing for the day, but they both gave it their all and helped me select and organize everything that I would need to put together the Elfa system for my mother, in the pool house.. we were all huffing and puffing, trying to fit everything in my son's pick up truck.. and the ladies went above and beyond their duties and helping me bring everything out... way beyond on their hours.. I felt so bad, but they were all smiles.. and a few things that I forgot they brought right out to me, even after their doors had locked.. Thank you so much Elaine & Gina.. I came in thinking this was the Container Store: its their CLOSET STORE - with a few items here and there. First, I was greeted by a lovely lady who probably wanted to hang out and chat about the latest gossip on TMZ. I then found the single item I was looking for - and another lovely lady checked on me. The checkout process was a bit long as only 1 person was working the counter......but the store is clean, the staff is helpful and I just wish (with all that damn space) they carried more stuff. The location is central. HQ needs to get it together and turn that store into a massive store and lets get it going. read more

My review is for the Custom Closet experience and has been a year in the making. Last year around this time, Hubby and I went to the Galleria Container Store to design our master bedroom Preston closet... and our experience was terrible. Design - The designing of the closet was painful. Pay close attention, if there are changes because the "design expert" in the store is NOT the one drawing the plans, but the middle man in a telephone game. The person holding the mouse does not make the appropriate updates and changes without a few painful rounds of the same request. Payment - Half of the five-digit closet price is due when the design is approved, BUT you cannot SECURELY pay for the first half of payment at the register in the store. We were forced to give our credit card to a random coordinator on the phone, which made us feel very uneasy. Wait - Then we wait for 3-4 months for the closet to be manufactured before installation is scheduled. Install - The initial installation involved three installers. One guy must of had a bad breakfast because he stayed in our guest bath for a majority of the day. There was ONLY one installer, Luke, who was respectful, conscientious, and responsible. After Install - The problem began after the install. A LED light strip kept falling down and there were scratches on the glass. Container Store sent an installer to fix the problems. Instead of fixing, this guy created all of the problems that would take almost 8 (yes, EIGHT) months to correct. This guy used so much superglue to "fix" the light strip that glue ran down the side of the wood panel. For the amount of money paid, the professionalism is to "fix" the problem with superglue? At least it was not duct tape... I demanded that the superglue ridden panels be replaced. Then the Container Store could not cut the panel correctly. I only allowed installer Luke to come back to fix the problem. Each time, the light strip was off measurement. This went one for 3 (yes, THREE) tries. During this time, NOT ONE Container Store manager ever reached out to us. After the third time of incorrect measurements, Luke took it upon himself to involve his managers. It was only at this time that Zandy, a manager, contacted me. Zandy had to expedite the correction and made sure that the panel was cut to measurement correctly. The entire closet install was delayed for almost 8 months and meanwhile, the contents of my closet was scattered around my house. With the exception of Luke, I would definitely NOT trust Container Store in such a big project. They are simply not capable of it. For the expensive price of a custom closet, you would think Container Store would have done better. read more

I've been a Container Store devotee since the my junior high school years. What first began with purchases of amac boxes to fill with candy and decorate with paint pens for friends quickly morphed to real storage solutions for my college dorm room. It is one of only two Custom Closet stores in the nation, focused on providing a showroom for closets and completion items. Located on N. Dallas Parkway just north of the Galleria Mall, the store has ample parking and is handicap accessible. If you make your purchase online, pull up to the front door and park in the designated click and pick up parking space. A wonderful store associate will quickly bring your purchase to your car. How awesome is that? But, I suggest just going inside. I mean, who wants to miss seeing all of the amazing items in person? Inside the store, be prepared to be amazed. Before I step through their doors I have allot myself a budget and a certain amount of time that I'll spend in this store. Kristina is right...if you're a obsessive compulsive, anal-retentive control freak...this store is for you! If Yelp and I weren't having the love affair that we are, I would totally go on a date with Container Store's employment office. I must say, I walked in to the store and 2 attendants were at the register- they didn't welcome me to the store or say hello. However, when 2 women came in a couple of minutes behind me, they were greeted. I walked around and went to the custom interior design area and of the 3 attendants there, only 1 lady actually introduced herself. She goes by Kat and her name is Katherine. The other 2 ladies didn't speak to me but spoke to a lady and her son that soon came after me in that area. Kat asked me if I wanted a tour of the section and really engaged me. After I left that section, I saw an attendant walking restocking the shelf- he didn't speak with me. I went to another section and saw another attendant- She looked at me and walked to another area. So out of all 7 ppl that I saw, only 1 of them spoke to me and her name was Katherine. At this point, I was like, hmmm well they are speaking to the other women, so it can't be that I"m a woman. I'm dressed nicely so it can't be my appearance...hmmm is it because I'm black? Don't want to pull the race card but I don't really know why I wasn't greeted by not greeted by any employee but 1 and I don't want to be thinking about why I'm not greeted in a store or asked if I need help. That made my experience really terrible except for Kat. I didn't feel welcomed and almost didn't buy the Scrub Daddy pads... I just thought of how inconvenienced I would be by having to drive to another store so I went ahead and bought it but usually I don't support stores with terrible customer service. Maybe because I'm a guy, this place doesn't stir up feelings of "need" that women (including my girlfriend) tend to have about The Container Store. But, that doesn't mean that I don't like visiting the stores. :) Well, considering that I'm a bit of an unlikely connoisseur of Container Stores (I've been to almost all of them in the DFW area), I have to say that I like the layout of this location better then most (though Frisco's is almost as good). It seems more... airy in this location (due to the skylights and the windows). I guess my only problem with this store is the clearance area (though the store really can't control that). Maybe it's already picked through when we get to it, but there never seems to be anything worth looking at when we get there. I was so happy when we moved to Dallas and I had a Container Store so close, but they recently moved around the corner and totally change their format. Instead of carrying everything you need to organize your space, they have turned the new store into a "California Closet" copy cat store. Every time I go in the store looking for items they used to carry, they tell me they don't stock those items anymore. Then they happily inform me I can drive 10 - 12 miles out of my way to go to a different location. I am not a fan of the new concept. Please bring back my old store! read more

We make this store our go to store when we travel through TX. I love the container store and am convinced that with enough money and containers I would be an organized person. This store is large and roomy enough that you have room to move your shopping cart through the aisles without being in another customers way. The shelves are well maintained and floor displays are orderly, but then again, it would be hard to convince someone to buy storage containers if your product and store was a cluttered mess. This store also sells, gift wrap, gift boxes, The staff is always helpful and friendly. When I first learned they were going to be moving to the old Toys 'R Us location, I was excited. The parking at the older Alpha Road location had become problematic. But just stopped in today...and was very disappointed. All the things that made The Container Store my go-to for many storage and display type needs are sadly not a part of this new incarnation. If you want a custom closet or need stuff to make your custom closet work...this is the place, probably. But for anything else, you have to look elsewhere now if you live in northwest Dallas. Will likely never step foot is this location again. And probably will find other locations for many of the things I previously went to The Container Store for. Love this store! I always get trapped (willingly) in walking around looking at all the goodies they have everywhere. They have stuff that I would have never even thought of, but when I see it, it always hits me that it's the coolest thing on the block. The employees are super helpful AND super friendly. Amazing really. I know I have covered the Container Store in Biz classes and they are usually ranked up on the "top companies to work for" lists. I went in last night looking for an over-the-door-hook-but-could-be-over-my-cube-wall coat hook. The helpful associate took me right over to the "hook section" and found me an adjustable hook. I went to the Container store for the first time last night after hearing about it from a few people. I needed one of those ridiculously large gift bags to wrap a big huge present. I found what I needed and more (of course!) They have an entire middle of the store section of wrapping paper, gift boxes, gift bags, tags, bows, ribbon - pretty much anything you'd need to wrap a present. They also have some neat little stocking stuffers around. Ipod cases, a tea bag squeezer (that sounds kind gross when I typed it, but its not! I swear!!), some cute luggage tags and a little dog bell for my mom. I got a couple of boxes and some tissue paper as well and a gift bag made for a bicycle which suits my needs and a crazy big bow! All this stuff (and maybe more i forgot even) was only $50. I think its going to be really dangerous that this is around the corner from my office and house. read more

Ok so the good is that they have all size and shapes of boxes and storage everything. The bad is that some of it is really expensive for what it is. I find myself in there staring at a generic clear plastic storage box. The container store has any dimension I might ever want, and I find the one I want to be able to store stuff under my bed. Then I contemplate the price and think I am pretty sure the price at Target or Walmart for this same generic plastic box would be a quarter the price. But does Target or Walmart have the exact box that works for me? Am I going to go drive to Target to spend less on a plastic container that I am holding in my hand that they may or may not have? So I end up telling myself that time is too valuable and thus buying what I believe to be an over priced plastic container because I know it will work perfectly for what I need. So I'm a compulsive organizer. Ok, more like an OCD compulsive organizer! Every inanimate object HAS to have its place. Case in point: my bf loved to stash the mail on the kitchen counter making it look like a recycling point for all things paper. Well, not anymore. A trip to this organizing mecca took care of it. Found several types of mail sorters: magnetic ones, metallic ones etc.... See? this place is awesome. But wait that's not all.... they have receptacles for every possible thing imagined. Hotdogs? Check. Eggs? Check. Leftover tomatoes or onions? Don't worry they have a dome-like container specially designed to store just that. Only downside? How do I describe what the Container Store is? It's anything you would ever want to organize your house. When I walk into the store, I think to myself, "Man, I'm going to spend a bundle, but I'm going to get exactly what I want to solve the problem at hand." We were looking for ways to expand the storage of our kitchen. After we remodeled it, we found ourselves lacking in cabinet space and of the cabinet space we had, we were severely lacking in utilization. We found a website that suggested we get a 4-sort divider. It's a wire stand that has 4 spaces to put stuff. In our case, we needed a place to put our glass casserole dishes and our cookie sheets, since stacking them on top of each other was getting to be a chore. We get it home and it's PERFECT. Plus there's room for cutting boards too! $4.99 + tax. They have multiple sizes. Secondly, our pantry is about 30 inches deep. Basically all the space in the back is unusable since you have to unload everything in front to get to it. Couldn't get the contractor to install pull out shelves, so we got deep shelves. We originally went into the store looking for spice racks we could install on the cabinets around the range. We bought some wire ones that would have worked, but we found ourselves questioning whether they'd really fix our problem. We finally fell upon the Elfa door system. It's basically the Elfa rail that attaches to the door (there are hooks to attach it to the door, top and bottom, so you don't have to drill holes. Plus the door is hollow anyway so there wouldn't be anything solid to drill into anyway) We originally bought 3 spice racks, 2 shallow baskets and 2 deep baskets, only to find out that they're too big to fit our 18" door. Since they have to pivot with the door, they wouldn't fit. So we went back yet again and bought 5 narrow shallow and 2 narrow deep and it is awesome. The one thing that bothers me is that since the Elfa is only held at the top and bottom, it rattles when you close the door. A minor inconvenience. All in all, this system cost us about $82 + tax. I needed a way to keep my wallet, sunglasses and keys organized so we bought a mail and key basket. Nothing fancy, just a wire basket with 6 hooks underneath. It holds my wallet, cell phone, keys and sunglasses with ease. I'm a little worried that the constant use will leave marks on the wall. The Wife said we'll try it like this first and if it does, we can do something about it in the future. $9.99 + tax. They have other kinds and styles, even one that holds your keys using hidden magnets. Fancy! The other thing I really like is that their hangers are the exact same hangers they've had for years. If you like matching hangers, then you can buy hangers here and later when/if you need more, you can get the same hangers to match. Most of their stuff is really cool. They all serve a purpose and solve a problem. I will say that when I first set foot in a Container Store, I thought it was expensive and some of it is, but some items are very affordable and if you can recover lost space, or make it more usable, that can be priceless. Until the Wife and I did some research at other stores, we found that the solutions here were priced competitively, even priced way below, with the other "solutions" we came across. The staff is ALWAYS ready to help you and some of them are overly talkative, but I can manage that, especially considering the alternative. Bottom line: Check this place out. Y'all know what the Container Store is and does, so I'll simply summarize: its a dispensary of products for use by obsessive-compulsive, anal-retentive control freaks, like myself, to be used in conjunction with medication, as deemed appropriate by a qualified medical professional, to make life more tolerable. However, what I *really* love about this store, and would care to Yelp about is the Elfa. Elfa, it's the best thing in the world. I don't know why people go to california closets. Elfa is your closet solution, they plan it out for you based on the dimensions of the space you have, it's easy to install - DH did it by himself. You only need the top tracked screwed in, everything else hangs. This Christmas, I loved that they color coded all gift wrapping paper and ribbon making it SO much easier for me to navigate and yet I still spend more time in there than I had planned! I know that The Container Store places those racks filled with useful/not so useful knick knacks right next to the checkout aisle so that you can buy more than you intend, but I never fail to find something that I don't need and yet purchase it anyway! Also, the employees are really helpful and the cashiers are super nice. read more

Nice!!!. Its a bed bath and beyond but just way cooler and friendlier. Everything is neatly arranged and a lot of people to help. The Elfa line is very nice and versatile but I havent bought anything from the line yet. The Mrs is thrilled on finding this and unfortunately for me it translates into multiple trips to this place. Our kitchen has never been more organized. Now atleast we have a place for everything.. but nothing in its place. The prices are variable. Some of them are really cheap. At some point, in January, after returning from my Christmas in NJ visit with the female child and her adorable husband, I hit upon a cooking jag. This was in large part due to the Smitten Kitchen blog. Having loaded up on various spices and finding my tiny cabinet next to the stove lacking, I started web-surfing for a rack that would fit on the inside of my pantry door, without leaving any holes. That is when I hit upon The Container Store and their fabulous annual Elfa sale. They had a door-mounted solution that was perfect. And, while I was in that rare OCD mode, I reasoned that a second rack would be perfect to organize those random things (light bulbs, games, girly tool set, etc) that I can't ever find on the back of my hall closet door. With my counters piled with stuff from the pantry, I set out for The Container Store with a mission. Upon entering the store, I was greeted cheerily by a young lady at a register. She directed me to the Elfa section and sent a radio message ahead. Because of the big, annual sale, it was quite crowded. But, I was immediately greeted by a pair of ladies who guided me through everything I needed. They could not have been more pleasant or helpful. The young man at the checkout was delightful. He made sure that I had all of the installation instructions that I needed. And, he insisted on helping me out to my car, making sure that everything was placed in my little Mazda hatchback so that it wouldn't shift around as I winged corners and zoom-zoomed through intersections to get home and organize my stuff. I was incredibly impressed by the level of customer service that I received at The Container Store. Everyone I dealt with was amazingly helpful. And, get this... they all seemed truly happy to be working there. Seriously. Happy. These days, you can drop a chunk of change at a retailer and barely get a "thank you and kiss my beeee-hind" from surly, unhappy clerks. The Container Store was a breath of fresh air. Yep, they are pricey. But, they offer quality stuff and superior customer service. Yeah, that rocks. Worth it just to have a human interaction that doesn't suck. As for the door thingies, they went up easy peasey. I am the World's Biggest Klutz at all things DYI (we won't even discuss the time that I got wrench stuck on the pipey-thing when trying to replace a shower head... too depressing). The little hex-key tool thing was included with the other hardware and I had the standards placed and was arranging baskets in no time. Now I can see exactly what spices I have when trying out a new recipe and where the heck my light bulbs are. Best of all, if I should ever decide to move, all of this can come down without leaving so much as a nick on the doors. I just wish I had more doors that would work with these things! They are the best! Part of what I do for a living involves me delivering technical and business training. In the past, I also have had some involvement in interpersonal skills training. So, I tend to appreciate it when a business is doing something right. I left with an overwhelming feeling that The Container Store is firing on all cylinders. When I related this experience to one of my coworkers, he did everything he could do to suppress an eye roll. They have some very cool products here, and I was not expecting all the kitchen equipment. It's very clean and in a nice neighborhood. The prices are very hog though. A lot of the shelving and tubs you find here are marked up 3-5 times as much as SAMs. I ran out of here. read more

This is a great place to go and get organized at. They've got you covered from everything you could want or need in the bathroom to everything you could need to actually be able to use that two car garage you have. I just moved into an apartment after living in houses my entire life and of course had way to much crap for this 600 sq. ft. place. Now, I've got all my necessities and then some in my new place.
