Like any project there are challenges as you go, and Nick just took care of them one-by-one quickly and competently. Nick was very thorough he made sure the scope the work included necessary stuff that other tradesmen may have ignored. Contracted with Southern Painting in May 2024 to paint my whole house. The crew did not have a…read moreforeman. Quality control & attention to detail were severely lacking. I expressed concern about this many times. The salesman was defensive & the owner was dismissive. Received a $250 discount (2.6% of the contract price). With all the prep work I did to my empty house (no furniture, no flooring, most light fixtures removed), the crew had very little to remove or cover before painting. I was replacing wall plate covers this week & found that the cable plates in the living room & master bedroom as well as the light switch plate in the laundry room were NOT removed, but just painted around--more evidence of the lack of quality control & attention to detail on my house. I paid them to paint my house last month; now I'm painting areas that were intentionally not done by their crew. Working with Southern Painting is not worth the hassle & dissatisfaction. I'll definitely be hiring another company for any future painting projects.

They make it simple and automated, so I literally don't even think about it anymore. But I knew their specialty was patios and landscaping, so we reached out when we were ready to do more with our backyard. They've been super booked this summer, but were able to fit us in. The concrete patio they installed looks incredible. We love the space it created for our kids to play and for us to enjoy. It's so nice to have a space outdoors where we can entertain and be proud of how it looks. During the patio process, they let us bring our own drawings and ideas to the table, and guided us according to the best practices they know so well. They went over and above, allowing us to add some additional space and came back to add sod in some places where the yard grade had changed and drainage needed to be adjusted. Both at no extra cost. Cole and his team know their stuff, they're honest, fair, upfront and who I'll call for any landscaping needs.

BE READY TO BLOW THE DAY WAITING ON A CREW TO SHOW UP! This was a second chance with Southern Painting after a very poor, sloppy job painting french doors. ( See photos below) I tried my best to give this company business and have recommended to so many in my city. Based on my experience I will be sharing this review with them as well. Alan with Southern Painting came out looked over the job, bid it, booked it. Crew arrived with no idea what they were to do. I had to call Alan and Miquel to ask that someone come out to the job site and help supervise the job. The outside wood was left unsanded, just painted over the rough spots. I was told by the painter that it would smooth out after it dried. ( NOT!) Then they left without finishing the job (a closet) Again... crew had no idea why they were there. Then Miquel called me not to apologize, but had the nerve to ask that I give the workers a check! They had not even completed the job. So after reminding Miquel, why they were here, we confirmed a another date to come back and complete the job. (closet) The day of the new rescheduled time, I reached out to confirm ETA...Less than an hour before the confirmed time of arrival (After emptying the entire master closet for the second time now!!!) I receive a text that they will not make the scheduled confirmed time again, but maybe at noon. I agreed, and moved my work schedule all around to accommodate Southern Painting.(again!) Less than an hour before the next scheduled time, ( noon) Miquel had the nerve to ask me to wait until after 2:00pm! (This is after I have moved calls and appointments with work to once again accommodate Sothern Painting.) I explained I cannot due to work, as I had already moved the entire morning around the 9:00am confirmed time that Southern Painting canceled with little less than an hour notice...And was asked to re-accomodate them at noon, and now Southern Painting is calling to cancel again. Miquel assured me noon would be the time! Noon came and went! I called at 12:30, (Miquel or Alan did not bother to even call me) to ask Miquel where are they, ..Miquel avoided picking up. I call, Alan, he picked with no clue as to where his crew was. He said I guess they are with a customer. He then ask me what do I need from him. (I said my crew?????) They have no respect for the customers time. They are discourteous. They are not the best in town, but I have tried to give them business, even after poor sloppy work. (see photos of their workmanship painting) They have continually failed to do the job completely, They fail to show up at all, at times, But.... they will always have their hand out to collect the check!!!! ( even if the job is not completed, or done well)

With their friendly customer service and wide selection of lumber it is easy to see why they are so successful. I needed a special sized board that I could not find anywhere else so I went to Ivey's and Nick in lumber sales was extremely helpful. He got me what I wanted without a problem. He was also really friendly, which was appreciated. I think in the future I make Ivey's my first stop when I need any kind of wood product.
