He provided some of the best customer service I have experienced in recent years when I brought my aging mother in to get paint for her kitchen. Desean gave her undivided attention with patience and smiles the entire time. He went above and beyond by helping her get access to online discounts she was not aware of. He showed her how the paint she selected would look on her cabinets by testing a small area. What a guy. Sherwin-Williams will want to be sure to keep this man. In fact, Mr. Brumfield should manage an entire store of his own, or maybe even have a larger role where he can cascade his customer service approach to entire teams. I am so glad Desean is taking care of my mother. Ask for him, and you will see what I mean. Good job, Mr. Desean Brumfield! Clay Broussard

Horrible customer service! Went here for the first time and the experience was not good…read more I walked in and there were two African American employees working behind the counter. Name on the shirt for one of the employees read, Floyd. Don't know the name of the other person. Floyd and the other person were helping someone else. I walked in and needed help so I stood in front of the counter and waited for my turn. There was no hi, hello, or we will be right with you type of thing. Standard customer service was clearly missing. Floyd made an eye contact with me multiple times yet did not say a single word. What was so bizarre to me was the second employee working on some paint singing out loud, on top of his lung, to some rap song busting on the radio next to him. He was pretty involved in singing but didn't bother to say anything to me. I found this singing show to be very unprofessional to say the least. Good thing I did not hear any profanity and/or vulgar lyrics in the song. I totally understand that the guy was probably just enjoying his day but still singing loud right in front of the customers was extremely disappointed. I have not encountered this anywhere else before. I stood for good 15 mins before finally decided to leave. Again, during my entire experience, no employees bothered to say/ask anything to me. Based upon my experience I will probably not go or recommend this place to others.

Being really nervous about working with contractors, I spent a week getting estimates from a bunch fo different guys. Tim was the one with the best price and he just made it sound so easy. (that's when you know that they know what they are doing) So all my drywall is repaired now, and I am very happy with the results. Someone had actually quoted me 3 x the price and said they would do it in a week, when Tim said it would take a full day. The only reason I didn't give him 5 stars is because I've never had any drywall repair before. He was on time, he did what he said he was going to do, I was able to trust him in my home, alone. He works fast and gets the job done right. Place is clean. Couldn't be happier and would recommend him to anyone that needs drywall/ random things done in their home. P.s. He was able to fix a baseboard that had leak damage and part of a door frame that nobody else seemed to know what to do with other than rip the whole thing off. I liked him so much that I had him do some painting. At the moment, he's not done yet, but I'll be sure to review his painting in my next review. Need some work around the house, Call Tim! Oh, and he'll be happy to give you his references, just ask. I talked to them and they all love working with him. And.. he always answers his phone/messages. What can I say!? These things are important!

His basic explanations of product uses and quality left me more confused and unsure of what I shouldn't have done in my home improvement tasks and upon looking at the online presence for the store so see his ignorance extends beyond paint and primer and into human decency where he seems to just not care how gross and oppressive his public image is. Where's the zero star button?

They are probably okay for professional painters that know what to ask for & have no need for professional opinions. I went there because of buying paint for exterior & interior walls. Only problem with that experience was one question pertaining to ceiling paint. I asked them for their best ceiling paint & bought the only one they mentioned. Turned out it had a very pronounced gray tone & we had wanted a very bright flat white. For this I consider 1/2 my fault for not saying I wanted a white ceiling & not one with a gray appearance. Anyway it cost twice as much as it should have because all the ceilings had to be repainted. The reason I'm writing this review is for two reasons. First I asked them for an acrylic primer that would be the best one to use on new wood trim for doors & windows. I specifically mentioned that I wanted a sandable primer. They gave me PPG SEAL GRIP Interior/Exterior Acrylic Universal Primer/Sealer ( 17-921 ). After spraying the trim & letting it dry for five days, I tried to sand all the trim to make it smoother. After seven hours of trying to sand the trim to make it smoother I gave up. It was not 'sandable' to get a smooth surface. I had to scrape a few areas down to wood & then apply a lot of pressure to remove the primer over a large area to even approach a reasonable smoothness. Second reason When I went in to complain the manager was defensive & arrogant. He also belittled me because of the time I had spent on the internet researching the problem. "So you think you are an expert now because of looking at the internet" "Just because you read comments by professional painters doesn't mean they are right" etc..... He said all primers are sandable. I told him if they don't create a powder & they quickly gum up the sanding blocks. They should not be sold as a sandable primer (especially if it has detail like trim) I think because I was getting pretty upset he chose three gallons of a different primer & gave them to me. As he put the primer in the back of the car he just had to give me another "zinger" about my knowledge derived from the internet. Just for your information, my research indicates that the oil/solvent based primers are typically more sandable than the acrylic ones. Also if you want to use a really good sandable acrylic primer & don't mind paying a little more. Eurolux, C2, & XIM seem to be the one's favored for giving the best results. Finally today I called technical support for Pittsburg Paint. The person I talked to said the 'Universal' acrylic was not a good choice for trim & would result in the sanding media to be gummed up quickly. I suggested that they try to find a way to educate their retailers about which products are better suited for specific projects. Trim, walls, exterior, etc... Total cost to us, about 1/3 of the trim will have to be thrown away or used in low traffic areas. Three gallons of primer ( I won't use what they gave us ). About 20 hours of time more than what should have been required.

They also repaired some large drywall cracks and gaps that opened up due to recent foundation work, as well as two water-damaged windowsills. Our project manager was Damien. Our painting crew was led by Victor. Quote -- they were in the middle of the range, about 1/2 as much as the most expensive quote. The quote process was much more of a "consultation" where he explained all the work and repairs in detail and why each one was necessary. Other companies were just about getting to the final price as quickly as possible, instead of helping us understand each element of work necessary. Quality of work -- house was painted exactly to plan. There was some confusion about one room with a complicated roof line, but after a quick conversation with our project manager we sorted it out without extra expense or time spent. Timing -- The crew finished up a day ahead of schedule. We did not require any touch-ups. Cleanup -- No issues. The house was mostly free of dust and there were only a few "drips" that all came up with some scrubbing. All furniture was protected. Damien is highly professional and very detail-oriented. We were very happy with the work done.

Around 9:00 AM, someone called me to schedule an appointment for the following week. I did schedule for the following week because I honestly thought they were a different painting company, since I had contacted several and also had other estimates being scheduled. I never heard her clearly say she was calling to reschedule today's confirmed appointment. She may have thought she explained that, but the communication of that critical piece was very vague and brief. A proper introduction should have been something like: "Hi, this is Elizabeth with DFW Painting. I know we have you scheduled today at 10:00 AM, but unfortunately we need to reschedule due to..." That would have made the situation clear. That is a basic and proper opening line for something like this. Because her communication was so unclear, I didn't even realize she was canceling today's appointment and that they were the ones that were already scheduled to come. I am an executive who communicates via email, virtually and in person every day. I am well-versed in proper communication. That confusion and lack of professionalism is why I decided not to move forward with them. Communication is paramount.
