I also monitored its condition throughout the following weeks to evaluate whether it was establishing and growing properly. Communication on September 16: I contacted your customer service team on September 16 to ask about fertilizing. At that time, I was still monitoring the sod's performance. Your representative advised me to wait approximately six weeks before applying fertilizer. I accepted that recommendation and continued to observe the grass. Weather conditions and inconsistent growth: During the last two weeks of September, the weather was more favorable for grass growth than it had been during the first two weeks. Under these improved conditions, I would reasonably expect the sod to show signs of healthy growth. However, some sod pieces are thriving while others are struggling, even though they are at the same elevation and have been exposed to the same weather and watering schedule. If the issue is due to improper watering, soil conditions, or installation, could you please explain why sod pieces in essentially the same conditions are performing so differently? Your offer to inspect the sod: I acknowledge that your representative offered to inspect the sod pads (replacements). However, his attitude and manner of communication made me feel completely unwelcome. An inspection offer should be accompanied by a willingness to listen to the customer's concerns and provide professional assistance. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Consultation with another turfgrass supplier: I also discussed this situation with King Ranch Turfgrass in Arlington to obtain a second opinion. Their staff informed me that they offer a complimentary inspection approximately four weeks after installation to evaluate sod performance. If necessary, they also offer free sod replacements. This is the level of customer service and support I would reasonably expect when purchasing up to 3 pallets of Emerald Zoysia sod. Hopefully this final review will bring up awareness to buyers whenever they decide to purchase sods at this location.
