5 stars is the max ....... are you kidding me ? . . . I used to buy paint at a store not far from there - west on 1431 but my builder supposedly switched to them . So I tried them out. Now I wish I needed more paint. Because ... the vibe and culture and degree of excellence is off the charts. I brought an 8 year old cabinet door there with food stains and what looked like tire tread marks (I have teenagers !) and a guy who's name I forget but looks like Idris Elba pointed the store's machine at it and furrowed his brow like it's sport to him , concentrating trying to find the best spot on the wood . I was hoping to be somewhere close not holding out much hope of matching the cabinet 100%. I got home and tried it out and ... wow, it matched. . . . And then there's a guy who speaks Spanish like he's chewing peanut butter but nonetheless tries to do it and treats each customer like they're important, looking at them in the eyes, shaking with BOTH hands. I don't speak Spanish well but appreciated his interactions because it sets an example to me to try and use my High School Spanish and bridge gaps everywhere I go. . . . And then there's the older guy (a relative term, I realize) and his demeanor is gold. There's a saying when you have a hammer everything starts looking like a nail and ..... Went in on a Saturday, was incredibly busy. One guy behind the counter and he did a great job directing everyone on who was in line and getting helped next, and swapping through people who were getting samples and being rang out in different order. He was very composed for the customer rush and was incredibly polite and professional. Every time I've gone here I've been greeted and helped quickly, no complaints about the service even when coming in close to close. read more

Stopped in recently to get some touch up paint for our new home. Unfortunately, they didn't have the correct paint at this store. However, the individual working took the time to call around and find which store nearby did have what we needed and made sure it was in stock and available before we drove to a new store. He did sent empty gallon buckets with us, at the request of another store. I thought it was a little strange to ask customers to run your errands, but I guess we were headed there anyway so it wasn't truly an inconvenience. Overall, I thought the individual that assisted us was very helpful and took a lot of time in getting us headed in the right direction. read more

Went into the store to select stain, had stain numbers, also had wood to try stain on. The guy that I can only assume was the manager was rude, condescending, and didn't want to help. He had a truck outback and unloading it was all he had on his mind. After he went back to unload the truck, I found a Minwax stain and asked to try that on the board, and the other worker there said I can try it but you have to buy it first. I had been to another Sherwin-Williams for another project and they had all the stains already there that you could try out on your wood before buying, this guy looked at me like I had lost my mind. No Customer Service, and on top of that just plain rude. Will never go back to that store. Too many other options available to spend my money. Neither one of them offered to do one thing to help locate the stain. read more

My wife went in to get stain on a board color matched. Guy was rude and sent her away. Nick said "you have to go back to the exact Sherwin Williams your builder got them stained". Lazy Nick didn't want to work. Will never go back to this store and don't recommend it to anyone. Went to the store off north i35 and was a completely different experience. So helpful and got exactly what we needed. $40 this store missed out on. They will go out of business with this type of service. read more

Bought a gallon of deck stain at $50+ turned out I needed more to complete the job and decided to paint the rest of my fence. Went back and asked them for 5 gallons. They were out, but if I started an account they would reserve 5 gallons in their shipment coming this week and call when it came in. I didn't get a call. So I called. They sold all the stain and cancelled my reservation all without notifying me. The desk man (whose name I know) told me that they had too much business to be concerned about my reservation. So my project is partially complete I'm stuck with Sherwin-Williams or I have to start over. I found the stain I needed in south Austin, and drove 45 min to get it. I will continue to use other suppliers and not this store even if I have to drive 45min. read more

I am surprised there are so many negative reviews. I have had great experiences at this location every time I've gone in - which is a LOT! The only improvement they could make is to not take phone call orders while they are in the middle of helping another customer. Other than that, they are friendly, prompt, and full of helpful advice. This place has the worst customer service. The first time there, I was ignored for 20 minutes, before even being acknowledged. It's not hard to say "We'll be right with you" but no, they just ignore you until they have time. Both times I was there, employees answered phones and helped the same customer that another employee was helping, before acknowledging anyone else. I was there for a small sample batch of paint to try on my wall, which they only have 1-quart sizes for and charge you $8.50. When I got home, I tried a patch, waited for it to dry and decided I would only do the one wall with it, so I preceded to paint that wall with the sample hoping it would cover it, but it didn't come close. I went back to the store the next day and after being ignored for 15 minutes, I asked to buy one more quart of that paint to finish the wall. At that time, I was informed that the samples are not proper paint and I would have to paint over whatever I applied. What? And they didn't think that was important to mention when they sold it to me in the first place? It doesn't even say it on the container. Then the guy points to a piece of paper behind the counter that says the samples are not meant to be used as paint. That is pretty ridiculous; I wasn't aware I was supposed to be reading pieces of paper behind the counter, rather than be informed by the person selling me the product. Why give you and entire quart as a sample, if it's not even usable? I then had to buy a full gallon if I was to be sure to cover the whole wall, but this of course would leave me with a lot left over. I wish I had thought that through before purchasing, because they didn't have the courtesy of telling me that the gallon costs $50 and that was with the membership discount of $24.50! I had just paid $35/gallon for top quality Behr Ultra paint at Home Depot, so that was a shock. Of course, they already mixed it, so I had no choice, but to purchase it. In addition, they gave me someone else's receipt instead of the one for my purchase. Will not be stepping foot in that place again. Dreadful customer service and overpriced mid-quality product. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. I called the store ahead of time to see if they were open and if so what their COVID operating procedures were. I was told, "Yes we are open." I was surprised at this answer, so I asked, "You are open and I can come there right now?" To which the response was, "yes, we are open you can come." When I get to the store, I was met outside by Nate, the manager, and told "We are doing everything over the phone. You need to call. We have been doing this for 8 weeks. No one would've told you to come in." Yet I was not informed of the operating procedures or asked to place an order over the phone the first time I called......this is specifically WHY I called. I then got back in my car and called the number back that I called before I left my house and surprise surprise, it was Nate that answered the phone to tell me he hadn't just answered my call and told me to come to the store. I understand that everywhere is operating differently given the COVID outbreak. I have limited time to get this errand done today and my time was wasted, and the manager (who I spoke to for each interaction) was extremely rude and unhelpful. I am a manager myself, and understand that it costs you $0, 0 effort, and 0 time to provide good customer service. I called for information about operating procedures prior to leaving my home, was not informed of any different procedures when I asked, and then treated very rudely at the store. Will not be returning to the Cedar Park location. I did, however, drive to the Round Rock location and worked with Brian and the team there. They were extremely helpful and kind and informed me of the process right away. Again, 0 time and $0 for good customer service. read more

I did a lot of research on paints and also paint stores before deciding on SW. I completely regret my decision to go with SW and spending so much time matching colors to make final decisions; so no backing out now. I have already invested almost $300.00 which, if I'd had the proper help, I would have spent half that plus saved tons of time. This review actually stands true for both SW Cedar Park locations. After the caviler greeting that I received from this SW store, I stopped in the one on Bell Blvd. but quickly realized that I wasn't going to get great service there either. If you ask for help, you get treated like you are dumb, or that you are interrupting their time. After all of the great things I had read regarding SW, I thought going with a specialist paint store would be a great experience. WRONG.... I have received a lot more customer support from experienced paint professionals at Home Depot and Lowes! I Love the paint but the service in both Cedar Park locations SUCKS! read more

I decided that I had a lot of questions about a project involving texture (acoustic ceiling), pre-treating cabinets, etc. We decided to "Ask Sherwin Williams". We went on Saturday to get some paint, two colors I already had and one that was one of their samples. The first problem came when kid (teenager or really young looking adult) kept mixing up what I wanted. I wanted a quart of one, a gallon of the other, primer and a gallon of one other color (from their own swatch). But he kept saying it backwards. You know how time kind of stands still when you're buying a car? They're busy doing something, but you look at your watch and are astrounded at how much time has passed? That epifany came when I realized it was going on 6:30 and we'd gotten there around 4pm. WTF takes 2 plus hours to mix paint? And it wasn't my color they were having the problem with, it was from their own swatch! We had picked up almost $300 in supplies that we'd need for the job, but as time passed, I started really hurting (disabled). I asked them how much longer it would take. "We're almost there". But I hear them talking, they're practically in front of me, and they keep trying to mix colors to achieve the color I want. For cripes sake, it's their sample!! At the point where everything hurt, and we realized how long we'd been there, I told them to stop! "We're so close" said the manager(?). I realized that we could probably have been in and out of Home Depot with everything we needed. So while I watched him acting like he wasn't still trying to get the color, I said "JUST STOP! Bring whatever you have ready, I need to leave, I've already been here much too long!" My son was putting everything we'd gotten back, I can pick this stuff up anywhere. So, because A - The first representative couldn't keep what I wanted straight; and B - It took them over 2 hours to match, mix and spin 3 cans of paint and one primer/paint, they get 1 star. They weren't not polite, they weren't anything. No emotion whatsoever. Of course I'm going to have to escalate but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They seriously don't have a clue, and at $42.94 a gallon of their best, they should be experts. Ask Sherwin Williams for directions to Home Depot. read more

Went to go get paint for my daughters room. Currently is hot pink and terrible. We picked colors on Pinterest and they were SW so I came here despite the reviews. I located the paint chips and they just weren't how I thought they would be. The woman working asked if there was a lot of natural light in her room. Negative, her windows butt up against the house next to us and the sun doesn't rise/set on that side of the house. She suggested I go to a corner of the store which didn't have natural light to see how they would look. I just thought it looked too green (we are going for a soft teal) and I didnt think either of us would like it. I picked a different "soft" teal and asked her opinion for some greys. She offered a couple and I chose from there. She was very pleasant and very helpful. Her room is primed and ready to be painted and I'm confident it will come out beautifully! read more

Nick the store Manager declared that wearing a mask in the store was his personal choice despite a sign on the door requiring all persons entering to wear a mask. Follow your own guidelines, it shouldn't be that hard to understand. If you don't want to wear masks, then don't require that your customers wear them, and I can spend my money somewhere else. read more

I went in yesterday to get paint and a few supplies to paint my daughters room. The blonde woman working (I didn't catch her name) was incredibly helpful. She helped us select the paint types and finishes that would work well for us, helped my daughter pick wall and ceiling colors, suggested some products to help me clean up my old brushes so I could avoid buying new ones, and gave tips for getting clean lines. I felt like she really knew what she was talking about. I appreciate her taking the time to answer all of my questions. My daughter loves her new room. read more

Was nervous to go to this location because of some of the poor reviews, but the girl working today was super helpful and very friendly. The store isn't huge, but it's clean and organized. Probably the most prompt service I have ever had at a paint store. Earlier this week I had gotten paint at lowes and twice they mixed it wrong, so it was nice to see someone who knew what she was doing. Their paint prices are pretty high, but if you buy with a coupon or sale it won't cost too much more than other stores. read more

Stopped at this store after having tried a sample that just didn't do the job. I was looking for help finding a color that was lighter with more gray. You think they would be able to pull a few more samples cards for me and I would have walked out with a bunch of samples to try on the wall. Nope! They were not very helpful as they didn't have any colors like I wanted. Really??? They should have pulled out a few books and helped me find one but they couldn't be bothered. I felt so unwelcome and I was the only customer they had, it's not like they were super slammed. I ended up not even making my purchase there because I'm not giving my money to a place like that! i am a new home owner and received a free gallon coupon from my builder in an interior paint color. i wanted to get the same color as my walls now for touch-ups. i went to this location, found the color chip with the exact name & color code for my walls, and was told that they could not provide me with my gallon because they would be unable to "color match." they proceeded to tell me that the only way to get the exact color i needed was to bring a "piece of my wall" into the store. i have a brand new home & know the exact color of my walls...i am still confused as to why i was unable to get my paint. the employee helping me told me i was better off calling another location to see if i was able to get my paint from their store. i also wanted to purchase trim color, which they also gave me the workaround for, but ultimately gave me the product i wanted. i don't recommend this location to anyone, unless you have a chunk of your wall readily available for color matches. read more
