Biggest waste of money, better off going to Joe's crab shack. Just spent $50 on king crab and had them shuck it for me, for an extra fee. The crab looked like it was put through a meat grinder, had little bits of shell scattered throughout, and was so overcooked, it was so dry, my potatoes had sprouts all over them. Told the waitress and she took it back. When I got it back, same thing, potatoes were old and crab was dry, shredded, and of course It had shell all throughout the meat. I normally don't expect food to be comped, but I'm legitimately angry at the fact I just spent $50 on that, and the fact it came back again with the same issues. The table behind us had the same experience (we started comparing notes) w/ service. They enjoyed the calamari but not much else. When the food came, more shell than crab (definitely not restaurant quality crab) and the burger was very well done. Fries were good. Brand new location, brand new building, brand new staff. Usually it takes a couple of months for a new restaurant to be so horrible we won't go back, but if it is really new starting off this bad there isn't much hope. Over priced, over cooked, over seasoned. Hostesses were rude & looked at us like were disrupting the important conversation they were having when we walked in. Waitress wasn't any better. We told her this was our first time at a Shell Shack & she didn't explain very much if anything at all. We ordered the grilled shrimp....it only had one flavor which was a garlic butter marinade. You could get a 1/2 or 1 pound which at market price was $14+& it didn't come with sides. Sides were about $3.99 per side. When our order arrived, the shrimp still had the shell on, the marinade on it was burnt & the shrimp was mutilated & way overcooked. Asked for the manager. When she came over & we explained the overcooked, over seasoned & that theses no way we were going to pay market prices for inedible seafood. She said her regional manager was in the kitchen & she didn't know why it had come out so badly. She offered to have the dish redone & do it "Uptown style" at no extra charge. After waiting 20 minutes the waitress brings out the new offering, only to plop down a plate with French fries & fried shrimp on it. We didn't want fried shrimp, didn't order fried shrimp & were very taken aback. We immediately asked for our check while I watched the manager high tail it back to the kitchen. They did take the shrimp off the ticket, but for 2 teas & 2 sides we paid $15+. All we want is a restaurant that knows how to cook fish & seafood. I don't even mind paying market prices, but if you ask for that much money you had better deliver quality product. read more

Went to this Fort Worth location because I had recently went to the Dallas location and tried the uptown style 1lb snow crab dish and wanted more it was soooo good the first time. Well I placed an online order got to this location and the lady behind the bar went over the items in the bag with me and she stated that everything eat there. I get home no uptown style snow crab there . I called to inform them that it was missing and she said agreed it was still there. She would have them remake it. Great I'm on my way even though it was late and I really didn't want to get back out I had just drove from Frisco for a dance lesson and Shell Shack was 20 mins from me. But I really wanted it. I get home and the orzo pasta is over cooked and literally no flavor . I was so disappointed it was literally so mushy. Husband & I decided to check out Shell Shack for date night 7/19/19 and we were definitely not thrilled with the service. I had the fried shrimp and hubby ordered chicken wings because he was surprised coming into a seafood restaurant they did not have lobster. My husband made a suggestion to our waitress to give to the manger to put a lobster roll on the menu and she came back to told us the manager said "No". I also ordered a strawberry margarita on the rocks & the bartender made a house margarita & just poured strawberry syrup without mixing it. My husband & I went for our 1st time last Saturday (7/13/19) we wanted seafood and happened to see your restaurant. We gave 4/5 for 2 reasons: 1) We had to wait for over 30 minutes for a table when in fact we counted EIGHT EMPTY TABLES. During that time we did sit at the bar and LOVED our service by "TEE" & Julie! They were prompt, funny & attentive. 2) When we FINALLY got a table we had a waiter "Jamicah" he was on his cell phone, slow, spoke low and under his breath and rarely came to check on us! We went to an early dinner, about 4:45 on Memorial Day. The place was fairly slow, only 6-8 tables. I have to say that the food was really good, service was excellent and our bill for my wife, daughter and her husband was only $76.00. This was our first visit but if going early is all we have to do for an excellent meal we will take that anytime. I would highly recommend you try a early dinner there! We had the grilled shrimp plates Cajun seasoning, Ceaser salads, crab tater tots, fries hush puppies, catfish fillets between the 4 of us. All excellent tasting. Went here and was a little scared at first as the reviews werent that great. However I am now a fan, a HUGE FAN AT THAT! The food was to die for the drinks were great and the service we got was AMAZING. Q.B aka Charlie which by the way best bartender and comedian took care or our need before we even realized what we needed. He made the night by suggesting the drinks to the food even helping us with the flavors. Damn that kitchen sink spice needs to be bottled and sold. So there seems to be people that need to realize that your now going thru a drive thru and ordering off the dollar menu. Wanted to take my wife out for a Mother's Day seafood meal. Decision between The Crab Station or the new joint, Shell Shack. Willing to try a new location we tried the latter. Arrived at 3:30 pm and people waiting in the front. No hostess so we wait. 5 minutes is not too bad, but then told it would be 30 to 45 minute wait. Why when I can see 5 to 10 empty tables? We sit down and wait. It is almost 1 hour before we get the call to be seated. It is just my wife and I, and I don't understand why such a long wait. Saw a group of 5 - 7 leave. Told they had been there 3.5 hours and no food. We were preparing to leave when we were seated at a table that had been open since we walked in. Another 15 minute wait before our waiter shows up. He is just coming onto his shift and willing to help improve our experience. Christian is willing, but there are bigger issues in the kitchen. We order sweet tea and the "Date Night" platter at the same time. Tea arrives and is unsweet. Took another 10 minutes for the correct tea to be provided. It was another hour before the meal came out. The platter is listed to have 6 sausages, 4 corn and 6 potatoes. The platter came out with 3 sausages, 3 corn and 3 potatoes. Had to request the additional items. Ordered cajun and garlic medium heat. This was the most bland food I've had in a long time. All food was luke warm with no flavor. When the rest of our order finally arrived another 30 minutes later, we were ready to check out and leave. Got that to go. Requested a chance to speak with the manager. It took three requests to speak with one of the several managers. Finally a young lady comes over to the table. I thought she came to start busing the table, but I figure out she is one of the managers. I explain the situation, to include the strong effort made by our waiter, but not impressed and will not return. Much better experience at The Crab Station, and request the check. Another 10 - 15 minute wait on the check. Finally Christian comes back and advises us that due to the poor experience, we would be comp'd the meal. I'm not use to giving such a negative review, but they really need to get their act together. It will take quite sometime for me to develop enough trust to return anytime soon. The single most inept attempt at a restaurant business I have ever seen. Been there twice and thought maybe the first time was growing pains. This place is GOOOD. The food is bomb. I love the kitchen sink rub and will get it every time from now on. The service is good. Sitting outside it nice too HOWEVER it can get really windy out there so you have to be careful. Other than that, good service. This was the worst restaurant experience ever! My family and I waited almost 2 hours to get our food. There appeared to only be 2 servers present. One who appeared to be running the entire restaurant and the other who casually walked around pitching in to help when she pleased. After getting our food, the order was wrong and both my daughters found thick dark hairs in their food. The waitress who served us consistently telling us how overwhelmed she was, how she didn't want to look at the door with incoming guests because it was too overwhelming for her and how she wanted to cry. She consistently sat down at customers tables with her mask on only part of her face and after having served the customers food. My husband had to ask several times if we could at least get our drinks. They didn't show up until well after we got our food. I understand businesses are doing there best during these hard times, but an understaffed restaurant, hairs in two plates of our food, a sweaty waitress huffing and puffing over our food and guilting us into feeling sorry for her as she sat down to take a breath is no way to run a place. We will never set foot in that place again. It's a shame too because it looked like it could be a really nice place. I would suggest they clean their tables though. So many tables that surrounded us were filthy and unclean from the last guests that sat there hours prior. read more

Wanted to share that my family visited heritage trace location today for lunch and there dining area, bar area, and bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. I would guess it's been a week since last times this place has been cleaned from what I can see. I could only imagine what the cleanliness of the kitchen looks like. My family will not be returning. I ordered an online delivery for pickup. I went to go pick it up at the time they said the order would be finished. Once I got inside, I asked about the order and a lady said the order is at the table. I went to get the food at the table and the lady at the bar came up to me and pointed for me to go outside. I told her I'm here to get my order why are you pointing for me to go outside... Then, I told her manager (they were both very disrespectful) that I wanted to cancel my order. I have changed my star rating for very good reasons. Went in this past Sunday Evening expecting to get to see Kevin the manager in action again. When we sat down we asked if he was there. We were told he was in the back helping the kitchen. We placed our order and the wait began. We waited an hour for our food to come out and when we asked for a manager to check on our food we instantly regretted not asking for Kevin specifically. The server went to get a manager however no one came to the table. A gentleman named Richard came to the table with our food and dropped the tray on the table and said we good now and walked away. I see that changes have been made as far as the management team in the store however change is not always good(in this case it got worse). I've been searching for a place with great crab legs and a low boil so I was super pumped when I read the previous reviews about the food. Unfortunately, I will not have the opportunity to experience what others have. My husband and I visited December 21st @ 6:00 pm. When approaching the restaurant, the smells were captivating and atmosphere better than I expected. It reminds me of a few places I visited in San Francisco. When the server at the door could not find the thermometer to check our temperatures, she shrugged her shoulders and said it doesn't matter anyway (This should have sent me back out the door) and she sat us at a table of our choice and handed us a menu. 17 minutes later, after five servers walked past us and watched one reading her cell phone sitting by the front door we still had not been greeted by our server. We gave it another three minutes to see if anyone would make eye contact but nothing happened. Twenty minutes since walking in the door and not being greeted we decided to leave. As we passed the girl head-down in her cell phone, she calls out "thanks for coming in". We both hesitate and wanted to correct her but decided it was too late. I am so disappointed with out experience and still want to give them another opportunity but my husband is refusing....I guess this will be a girls night out in the distant future. read more
