Over priced food (for the quality) Terrible service - forever for drink orders to be placed, another 20 minutes to take our order, another 30 minutes for our food, another 10 minutes for my crab crackers and drawn butter, then another 30 minute for our check. just long drawn out service with a waitress that tended to all other tables but ours. The table behind us had the same experience (we started comparing notes) w/ service. They enjoyed the calamari but not much else. When the food came, more shell than crab (definitely not restaurant quality crab) and the burger was very well done. Fries were good. Next time, we'll skip Shell Shack and go over to The Crab Station. Much better service and food!!! read more

Brand new location, brand new building, brand new staff. Usually it takes a couple of months for a new restaurant to be so horrible we won't go back, but if it is really new starting off this bad there isn't much hope. Over priced, over cooked, over seasoned. Hostesses were rude & looked at us like were disrupting the important conversation they were having when we walked in. Waitress wasn't any better. We told her this was our first time at a Shell Shack & she didn't explain very much if anything at all. We ordered the grilled shrimp....it only had one flavor which was a garlic butter marinade. You could get a 1/2 or 1 pound which at market price was $14+& it didn't come with sides. Sides were about $3.99 per side. When our order arrived, the shrimp still had the shell on, the marinade on it was burnt & the shrimp was mutilated & way overcooked. Asked for the manager. When she came over & we explained the overcooked, over seasoned & that theses no way we were going to pay market prices for inedible seafood. She said her regional manager was in the kitchen & she didn't know why it had come out so badly. She offered to have the dish redone & do it "Uptown style" at no extra charge. After waiting 20 minutes the waitress brings out the new offering, only to plop down a plate with French fries & fried shrimp on it. We didn't want fried shrimp, didn't order fried shrimp & were very taken aback. We immediately asked for our check while I watched the manager high tail it back to the kitchen. They did take the shrimp off the ticket, but for 2 teas & 2 sides we paid $15+. All we want is a restaurant that knows how to cook fish & seafood. I don't even mind paying market prices, but if you ask for that much money you had better deliver quality product. read more

Went to this Fort Worth location because I had recently went to the Dallas location and tried the uptown style 1lb snow crab dish and wanted more it was soooo good the first time. Well I placed an online order got to this location and the lady behind the bar went over the items in the bag with me and she stated that everything eat there. I get home no uptown style snow crab there . I called to inform them that it was missing and she said agreed it was still there. She would have them remake it. Great I'm on my way even though it was late and I really didn't want to get back out I had just drove from Frisco for a dance lesson and Shell Shack was 20 mins from me. But I really wanted it. I get home and the orzo pasta is over cooked and literally no flavor . I was so disappointed it was literally so mushy. Not sure what happened but the crab was decent after putting the kitchen sink sauce on it. For $45 I feel it should've been done better! read more

Good food, friendly and attentive wait staff. Prices are moderate considering the quality of the shellfish they serve. It's a great place to get a great meal! I'll be back. read more

Two thumbs down . We ordered and our food was cold. Our burger was way under cooked. Arlington location is way better.

Love this place! Fun environment. If you like to get messy get ready! Drinks are good too.

This was the absolute best! Bri was our server and bartender. She was ON IT!! Attentive professional knowledgeable and cute! My husband and I had the grilled shrimp and catfish along with a great Bloody Mary and IPA. We highly recommend this place AND they are open until 2AM. read more

I appreciate the manager on duty calling to confirm my allergy of no dairy. Thanks a lot!!

This place was amazing! First time eating there and staff was super friendly and the crawfish was so good

2nd time visiting this location. Food was not bad but not great. Service both visits was very slow and forgetful. Hope the service improves as it is a great location for the area. read more

Husband & I decided to check out Shell Shack for date night 7/19/19 and we were definitely not thrilled with the service. I had the fried shrimp and hubby ordered chicken wings because he was surprised coming into a seafood restaurant they did not have lobster. My husband made a suggestion to our waitress to give to the manger to put a lobster roll on the menu and she came back to told us the manager said "No". I also ordered a strawberry margarita on the rocks & the bartender made a house margarita & just poured strawberry syrup without mixing it. I asked to change my drink out and was told by our waitress that they can't switch drinks. Definitely will not be returning to Shell Shack read more

My husband & I went for our 1st time last Saturday (7/13/19) we wanted seafood and happened to see your restaurant. We gave 4/5 for 2 reasons: 1) We had to wait for over 30 minutes for a table when in fact we counted EIGHT EMPTY TABLES. During that time we did sit at the bar and LOVED our service by "TEE" & Julie! They were prompt, funny & attentive. 2) When we FINALLY got a table we had a waiter "Jamicah" he was on his cell phone, slow, spoke low and under his breath and rarely came to check on us! We LOVED that you had TV's and LOVED your bartenders BUT they were 4 times more busier than our waiter and more attentive and prompt (We tipped Tee 2 x's more than our waiter who got the min of 20% from us) We'll try ONE more time but maybe stay at bar. Oh, BTW, food great EXCEPT crab over cooked read more

Thought we'd stop in for an appetizer and a beverage. First employee we saw said "sit at the end of the bar". Not "Hey, welcome how are you?" or the like. We did. Dirty dishes and the place was a little smelly. After 5+ mins, bartender didn't come over and maybe 10 people in the whole place, we realized we weren't going to get service and we were the problem. Never go here. read more

Worst customer service ever. There was about 5 workers at the podium just talking to each other and none of them would seat us. We stood there awkwardly just waiting around when they clearly weren't busy. At least acknowledge your customers? The restaurant wasn't even busy. read more

We were there the other night, loved it! Our server Noah was Awesome, he explained everything to us perfectly and got our order perfect and out in perfect time. The only thing that I would fix is that there was way to much seasoning/sauce on our Snow crab that we got, i like to taste my crab, but other than that, Awesome place, awesome service! We will definitely be back!!! read more

Not good.. We had a party of 12 and each dish came out separately over a 30 minute period. Orders were wrong and cold. Food was marginal. Problem was with the kitchen and management. Wait staff was good but you could tell they were frustrated. read more

Sucks................ just plan disappointing, food took 30 minutes, came out cold, now I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that seafood should be hot when served, bit I may be asking too much, speciality drinks were weeeeeak, I'll pass on this place from here on out read more

We went to an early dinner, about 4:45 on Memorial Day. The place was fairly slow, only 6-8 tables. I have to say that the food was really good, service was excellent and our bill for my wife, daughter and her husband was only $76.00. This was our first visit but if going early is all we have to do for an excellent meal we will take that anytime. I would highly recommend you try a early dinner there! We had the grilled shrimp plates Cajun seasoning, Ceaser salads, crab tater tots, fries hush puppies, catfish fillets between the 4 of us. All excellent tasting. My only wish is that the shrimp were shelled. However I can live with that because they were so tasty. read more

Went here and was a little scared at first as the reviews werent that great. However I am now a fan, a HUGE FAN AT THAT! The food was to die for the drinks were great and the service we got was AMAZING. Q.B aka Charlie which by the way best bartender and comedian took care or our need before we even realized what we needed. He made the night by suggesting the drinks to the food even helping us with the flavors. Damn that kitchen sink spice needs to be bottled and sold. So there seems to be people that need to realize that your now going thru a drive thru and ordering off the dollar menu. But our date night was definitely delicious and even got a ton of laughs sitting at the bar with Q.B keep up the good work guys. read more

I don't really understand all the poor reviews on here! In my opinion the best seafood restaurant in the area and will definitely be coming back! read more

Wanted to take my wife out for a Mother's Day seafood meal. Decision between The Crab Station or the new joint, Shell Shack. Willing to try a new location we tried the latter. Arrived at 3:30 pm and people waiting in the front. No hostess so we wait. 5 minutes is not too bad, but then told it would be 30 to 45 minute wait. Why when I can see 5 to 10 empty tables? We sit down and wait. It is almost 1 hour before we get the call to be seated. It is just my wife and I, and I don't understand why such a long wait. Saw a group of 5 - 7 leave. Told they had been there 3.5 hours and no food. We were preparing to leave when we were seated at a table that had been open since we walked in. Another 15 minute wait before our waiter shows up. He is just coming onto his shift and willing to help improve our experience. Christian is willing, but there are bigger issues in the kitchen. We order sweet tea and the "Date Night" platter at the same time. Tea arrives and is unsweet. Took another 10 minutes for the correct tea to be provided. It was another hour before the meal came out. The platter is listed to have 6 sausages, 4 corn and 6 potatoes. The platter came out with 3 sausages, 3 corn and 3 potatoes. Had to request the additional items. Ordered cajun and garlic medium heat. This was the most bland food I've had in a long time. All food was luke warm with no flavor. When the rest of our order finally arrived another 30 minutes later, we were ready to check out and leave. Got that to go. Requested a chance to speak with the manager. It took three requests to speak with one of the several managers. Finally a young lady comes over to the table. I thought she came to start busing the table, but I figure out she is one of the managers. I explain the situation, to include the strong effort made by our waiter, but not impressed and will not return. Much better experience at The Crab Station, and request the check. Another 10 - 15 minute wait on the check. Finally Christian comes back and advises us that due to the poor experience, we would be comp'd the meal. I'm not use to giving such a negative review, but they really need to get their act together. It will take quite sometime for me to develop enough trust to return anytime soon. I give it one star for the waiter and the comp'd meal. read more

This was my first time at Shell Shack and everything was exceptional. Robert took great care of my friend and I, Andy the manager made sure we were happy with how everything came out, food tasted fresh and flavor able. 10/10! read more

Went a few months ago and crabs were so over cooked it was barely any meat in the shell and then it was stuck to the shell. Potatoes were under cooked and everything was really just a disappointment. Haven't been back since. Even I called them and they basically told me oh well nothing we can do. Yea new spot me please such a waste of my money that I couldn't get back read more

The single most inept attempt at a restaurant business I have ever seen. Been there twice and thought maybe the first time was growing pains. When you arrive at 5:45 on a Saturday to get maybe a table and told there is a 40 minute wait because there's no servers and there are at least 20 open tables it becomes clear....the owners, management, and even Hillwood, Ross Jr.- shame on you! Again, if you would like to see a model for restaurant FAILURE look no further than this debacle. read more

Restaurant was empty, but 30 minute wait. Wait staff seemed confused. I will not spend that much money for a long wait and bad service. Needs better management. read more

This place is GOOOD. The food is bomb. I love the kitchen sink rub and will get it every time from now on. The service is good. Sitting outside it nice too HOWEVER it can get really windy out there so you have to be careful. Other than that, good service. Bar drinks were a tad slow but not slow enough to give less than 5 stars. It's also a bit pricy but that's to be expected at a seafood joint. read more

This was by far the nastiest food I have ever tasted. I'm from Louisiana and wanted some boil shrimp. When it's brought to the table it looked really good but when I tasted it, it taste like dirt. I was so disappointed. I spend one hundred bucks on dirt. I will never go here again. read more

This was the worst restaurant experience ever! My family and I waited almost 2 hours to get our food. There appeared to only be 2 servers present. One who appeared to be running the entire restaurant and the other who casually walked around pitching in to help when she pleased. After getting our food, the order was wrong and both my daughters found thick dark hairs in their food. The waitress who served us consistently telling us how overwhelmed she was, how she didn't want to look at the door with incoming guests because it was too overwhelming for her and how she wanted to cry. She consistently sat down at customers tables with her mask on only part of her face and after having served the customers food. My husband had to ask several times if we could at least get our drinks. They didn't show up until well after we got our food. I understand businesses are doing there best during these hard times, but an understaffed restaurant, hairs in two plates of our food, a sweaty waitress huffing and puffing over our food and guilting us into feeling sorry for her as she sat down to take a breath is no way to run a place. We will never set foot in that place again. It's a shame too because it looked like it could be a really nice place. I would suggest they clean their tables though. So many tables that surrounded us were filthy and unclean from the last guests that sat there hours prior. read more

horrible experience, sat for 20 min and the people before of us got service before us and got water and everything before us. Heather was not helpful at all no where to be found. Unless you want to wait 20 min for service I dont recommend coming here. It was just very awkward sitting there for a long time and no where to come up to us. I wish I had a better experience very disappointed in this. I'll be over at crab station thooough read more

Wanted to share that my family visited heritage trace location today for lunch and there dining area, bar area, and bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. I would guess it's been a week since last times this place has been cleaned from what I can see. I could only imagine what the cleanliness of the kitchen looks like. My family will not be returning. Also I was in bathroom washing my hands and an employee used bathroom and didn't wash there hands but was told by manager it was just the seafood delivery guy that came from the kitchen, so I guess that's ok read more

I ordered an online delivery for pickup. I went to go pick it up at the time they said the order would be finished. Once I got inside, I asked about the order and a lady said the order is at the table. I went to get the food at the table and the lady at the bar came up to me and pointed for me to go outside. I told her I'm here to get my order why are you pointing for me to go outside... Then, I told her manager (they were both very disrespectful) that I wanted to cancel my order. I will not be coming here again. They are unprofessional and rude. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else who comes here. read more

First time visiting here, good food and ambiance! Staff was friendly and the hand washing station is pretty neat!

I have changed my star rating for very good reasons. Went in this past Sunday Evening expecting to get to see Kevin the manager in action again. When we sat down we asked if he was there. We were told he was in the back helping the kitchen. We placed our order and the wait began. We waited an hour for our food to come out and when we asked for a manager to check on our food we instantly regretted not asking for Kevin specifically. The server went to get a manager however no one came to the table. A gentleman named Richard came to the table with our food and dropped the tray on the table and said we good now and walked away. I see that changes have been made as far as the management team in the store however change is not always good(in this case it got worse). This was the last time we will be returning to the restaurant. Kevin you have my contact information and my offer still stands. If you are looking please reach out to me a rockstar like you is being under utilized. read more

I've been searching for a place with great crab legs and a low boil so I was super pumped when I read the previous reviews about the food. Unfortunately, I will not have the opportunity to experience what others have. My husband and I visited December 21st @ 6:00 pm. When approaching the restaurant, the smells were captivating and atmosphere better than I expected. It reminds me of a few places I visited in San Francisco. When the server at the door could not find the thermometer to check our temperatures, she shrugged her shoulders and said it doesn't matter anyway (This should have sent me back out the door) and she sat us at a table of our choice and handed us a menu. 17 minutes later, after five servers walked past us and watched one reading her cell phone sitting by the front door we still had not been greeted by our server. We gave it another three minutes to see if anyone would make eye contact but nothing happened. Twenty minutes since walking in the door and not being greeted we decided to leave. As we passed the girl head-down in her cell phone, she calls out "thanks for coming in". We both hesitate and wanted to correct her but decided it was too late. I am so disappointed with out experience and still want to give them another opportunity but my husband is refusing....I guess this will be a girls night out in the distant future. read more

Order to-go Thursday night, and loved it. We've eaten at the other locations, and this one is closest to us. Our meal was perfect, the sauce was amazing, and it came out in a decent time for us to get back on the road for a in-house date night. So happy more locations are popping up, and a shorter drive for us. read more

So I went for dinner lastnight and we called ahead because we had 20 people. The management failed to have crawfish ready and got told it would take an hour or more to clean And have ready. Our server was nice and told us the the kitchen said they were to busy to clean and cook crawfish. There were 4-5 tables total. Management needs to do better. My 3 year old could run that place better than them. read more

I would like to say that , my Experience @ the Shell Shack was a Pleasant experience, this was my Wife & I 2nd Trip there, less than a Month, & We also brought someone along with Us, our Server was Belinda on both Occasions, she was Outstanding. Thanks to all the Staff & the Manager that was on Duty, in making our Restuarant Experience a Fun place to Hang Out. Definitely will be Returning Again Soon. read more

I enjoyed the food in the past, but it seems every time I go the quality decreases every time.
