Don't bother playing anything on the jukebox because they'll mute it and skip it- wasting your money. When we confronted them about it they acted oblivious to it and said we can take it up with the jukebox company. I have never thought I'd give this place a bad review, however after 20 years of sticking with John, Richie and the rest or there so call, "managers" and the substandard bar tenders, primarily DK, (David King) that I have known for the better part of 15 years and have ALWAYS treated with respect, to be treated as if I am a BURDEN on him, is totally out of line. The disrespect and personal actions, not to me, but ALL the current and past patrons that contributed to your success. John Hinkle, owner, blew me off when I addressed my issue about his employee. What freaking a**holes! Husband and I walked in and sat at a table right behind the bar. Every seat at the bar was full and a table beside it. That's it, no other people in this trashy dive. Several of the people at the bar were "sloppy/side walking" drunk at 5:45!! So hey... any FWPD in the area wanting to keep drunks off the road, this is your place! We waited TWENTY minutes. None of the 3 bartenders behind the bar, or the 1 waitress even looked at us. We were encouraged to meet here by a "regular" who has been going there for years. The environment is terrific with pool tables, darts and plenty of seating. BUT, the bathrooms aren't clearly marked. I walked into the ladies just by luck, but quickly backed out and looked all around the door frames (no doors) for any clue if I was in the right bathroom. I assumed it was unisex until I left and was able to see a "Ladies" halogen light above the first entrance. Unfortunatley, my husband made the same mistake. He walked to the same area as I did earlier, not knowing the men's restroom was on the other side of the bar and ended up accidently walking into the ladies restroom. He was quickly confronted by the bouncer and told he needed to leave the bar. The bouncer was polite enough and thankfully didn't assert his size, which he easily could have done. We left without incident of course, but the sting of getting kicked out was pretty harsh. We're not "gypsies" or from out-of-state. We're just a boring middle-aged couple who apparently can't read halogen signs. ***The bar needs to make the restroom signs WAY more clear and not be quite to quick to kick people out over an honest mistake.*** read more

We go to woodys after lunch with Rio at least once every other Week. I understand we go at the slow time before the Rush. However, every time we go, the bartenders are so rude...no "hello" or "thank you", regardless if we spend $40 or $100. Just straight faces as they pour our drinks, we love dive bars, but this is just rude service. We won't be back, and we will no longer be promoting woodys, like we have in the past. Also, when we talk to the manger on duty and voice our complaints, and as we leave your bartender rudely calls out "thank you so much", you should rethink your management team. So sad post this review...even more sad to no longer spend our money here . Your bartender delivered water...and after multiple trips up for drinks, still never said thank you. Maybe instead of being rude to guest leaving a comment, ask yourself how you could have given better service. The two people you are being so rude to are both in the restaurant business, so we understand the highs,lows, and struggles. I actually like going here but unfortunately not tonight! They have some tall new door guy which Is way ahead of himself. Long story short I was still drinking my drink (almost done with it) and the door guy tried to kick me out as soon as the lights come on, he tried multiple times to snach my drink from me and continue to kick me and my friend out. This place has the best baked potato! I come here once a month and the baked potato will definitely fill you up! I always get the BBQ sauce on the side. It's a very popular place for my coworkers to come. It can packed on certain days. Service is pretty fast though. read more

Went ot Woodys Tavern Sunday night to watch The Ranger Game. It's in the back of a strip mall, kinda odd, but we thought, what the heck. We went in, and were immediately greeted by a very nice bouncer. Nice to have some security. The waitress came right over and took our drink order. The drinks were good and CHEAP. For a crown/7 & a vodka cherry sour, $4 for both. Me likey! Downside, place is smokey, and several of the patrons were obviously drunk, but we had no problems. The overserved dudes were obnoxious. Stopped in to watch the first round of NCAAs. Hungry and thirsty thinking I could hang for a few hours drink a few beers and eat a decent bar meal. Looks like the perfect place for a sports bar meal,,,you know the ones,,,gooey cheese sticks or chilli fries, followed by a cheeseburger, wings or cheesesteak? Sorely dissappointed, no food,,huh,,a sportsbar without bar food,,,impossible, sure enough I had to walk to Joes for a sub. Beer was cold and direct Tv allowed me all the games which was awesome. We went to Woodys today and we were disappointed in our experience. I live in Fort Worth and grew up with Woodys being a great dive bar for south Ftw. We stop in every so often to have a few and enjoy day drinking. No matter how many times we visit, the hospitality from the bar staff is disheartening. Customer service is completely different than hospitality. As a guest you want to feel appreciated for the money you spend at a place. It sucks to track down a bartender to ask for drinks, pay and sign the bill and and the bartender not say a word to you... not, " enjoy" not "thanks, let me know if you need anything"...nothing. I run a business where being gracious to people come in creates loyalty and gives guests a sense of you wanting them to be apart of your success. I don't think Woodys feels that way and that sucks. I appreciate the offer for pot luck food, but give me a bartender who really cares, a manager who really wants feedback and a business that understands that there are plenty of bars out there and we need to go above and beyond for each and every person that walks through the door... then I would be a faithful patron. Cheers, hope you take the feedback and use it to give a better experience for your patrons. Well, management responded and seems to be offended. As I mentioned, no offense... the bartender never talked to me no did I care to have a lengthy convo with him... it's about hospitality. A simple thank you for coming in would have done the job. Took the wife to this little Tavern for lunch. The food was awesome, the wife had southwest chicken salad and I had street tacos. The service was exceptional, all the staff we had were extremely friendly. We will return!! And yes they are open for inside seating read more

GO TO WOODYS!!! Very chill environment where YOU get to pick what music is playing on the jukebox. Everyone is friendly and the drinks are always good and not half assed! With decent prices, pool tables and on the really good nights, free snacks! My favorite bartender is Jessica, but all of them are great and will take care of you. This place gets a lot of flack, and it is certainly divey, but I've always had a pretty good time. Yes it's smokey (very smokey actually, if that's a deal breaker, maybe it's not for you) and unless they are having a night where they put out free food, there's no eats. However, you can bring outside food in. And for watching sports, this place is fantastic, it has over 20 TVs and a couple of projector screens. As far as rowdiness goes, I saw a fight break out once before it was quickly broken up, and otherwise loud, intoxicated people are generally part of the appeal of going to a bar. One last note, great for Steelers fans. I'm am most definately not one, but they show up in droves to watch games here. read more

I have been to Woody;s a few more times and since my last review their have been parking lot gang fights and one night several vehicles in the parking lot were robbed with windows smashed out of at least 4 of them.The cigarette smell seems to get worse with each visit,I am disappointed because it's close to home and not many other options.I have been going to other spots lately and probably won't return. read more

I had to post again to say that Woody's is a great place to watch football on Sunday. I walked in and the guy at the door saw my Bears jersey and immediately showed me where the game was going to be and introduced me to a couple of other people there to see the bears game also. There were groups of fans of a lot of different teams and everyones game is being shown. They had also made a big batch of chili that was free for everyone.
