They'll be seeing quite a bit of me at Wired Willy's, which sounds like the name of a coffee shop but instead just happens to be a smallish craft beer wonderland just off 7th. Outfit in warm wood tones throughout, they've curated a terrific beer fan's brew selection, clearly the work of people who both know and love beer. As someone who appreciates that in a place, I was quite happy to try a couple of them on recently. It's not big, know that, and know also that contrary to one of the early reviews here, they seem just fine with indoor smoking. I wouldn't say that the place was smoggy by any means, but they definitely weren't averse to it. That said, getting after the tasty stuff is really the way to go here, and though they feature a full bar (lead by Texas distilleries), I only learned last night of their tap philosophy: nothing but US brews on tap, and craft ones at that. So they're not only well curated, but they're a little patriotic about it, which I didn't see coming. That'll keep you thirsty. read more

I'm usually here on a Friday or Saturday night enjoying a delicious beer with my late night grub. They have a great selection of craft beer and your typical beer selection as well. What I like the most is for the people who know nothing about beer, they have a board describing the flavor profile and listing the alcohol content of each craft beer offered. This place isn't too expensive either, and they are always offering a special. If you want to take your chances, they have this wheel of fortune type thing which picks out what you're going to drink or offers you a free beverage. What I enjoy most about this bar is that it isn't crowded or smokey at all and I usually almost always see the same faces sitting at the bar. The only downfall is the playlist and parking. I frequent 7th Street bars such as Poag Mahone's and Shamrock, and noticed Wired Willy's signage when I was in the neighborhood about a week ago. I had heard nothing about a new bar in town, so given the name I assumed it was a computer repair place or a new coffee shop. On Friday night, I was en route from 7th Haven to Shamrock when I spotted a friend of mine sipping a draft beer out by the back door of this new place. Boy, am I sure glad I ran into her. I entered the bar and was met with a smell that is unfamiliar to the Fort Worth bar scene: fresh, clean air with a hint of cedar. No smoking allowed here. Although the bar was a tad crowded, the two bartenders behind the counter spotted me right away and were very attentive throughout the night. I didn't have to wait around while they finished their conversations or served those convenient to them. I was extremely impressed by their service, especially since it was their second day in business. I was then blown away by the multitude of Texas beers they had on tap. Especially my favorite seasonal beer, Shiner Ruby Red (!!!). The price tag was a-OK at $3.50/glass. Best Friday night, ever. My only criticism was the temperature of the draft beer. It was served kind-of-cold, which meant that my beer quickly became room temperature before I finished even half of the glass. I'm not sure if it was the draft machine or if it was because the glasses weren't kept chilled, but I'm certain they'll get that fixed. I'm giving this place 5 stars because I was blown away by my first experience. If you're craving an intimate environment, a non-smokey atmosphere and a tall glass of your favorite Texas beer, stop on by Wired Willy's. And don't forget to tip your bartender! read more

I must say that I originally thought this place was an internet cafe based on the name alone. I was more than pleased to walk into a small, laid back, wooded bar. Not only did the bartender say hello, but so did the patrons. I love the fact that they only serve American beers and aim to support local Texas brews. They host fun movie nights when football is not on. Bo the bartender said outside food was allowed and that he sometimes orders pizza's for the bar. Isn't that nice? This place fits perfectly in Fort Worth and I'm looking forward to enjoying a few drinks there every now and then. The only downside that I will state is that they allow smoking. I'm not a fan of smelling like an ash tray when I get home. Other than that, this place is purty darn cool. read more

Great Fort Worth bar that specializes in Texas Craft Beers and other things. Probably one of the best prices on craft beers in the metroplex as well. Nice, clean decor. Not a huge location, but plenty of beers on tap and character to boot! Coming in at 7 for the Yelp Drinks launch, its a little slow right now, but I can easily imagine it filling up quickly. A pair of dart boards could stand to be broken-in in due time and the of course, the obligatory video golf game in the corner. The best part was getting a chance to sit down with manager Bo, and get more insight on what their business model and bar goals are. With 20 beers on draft, they don't waste any tap heads on Bud Light, Coors Light, and other macro-domestics. They realize that part of the allure is offering something that you can't get everywhere else. No Guiness here, instead, you'll find Left Hand's Milk Stout- a delicious substitute (better if you ask me), that you can usually only find in bottles. The rest of the bar has a really cool design- if its a liquor made in Texas, they've got it behind the bar. On top of that, they have three additional menus: $5 shots, Bottle Beers, and a closeout board of ridiculously awesome prices on unique offerings. Tuesday seemed to be a great day to stop in because they pour their 16oz brews for the same price as the the standard pint. As for cocktails are concerned, doubles for the price of a single +$0.50. This place wasn't packed when I went, but it's tiny. It's smoking in here and it's definitely smokey. They sell cigarettes here too. Tons of beers on tap and a good list of bottles. I think this is more of a relax and chill kinda place, as opposed to come of the places it's smushed between. read more

Awesome selection of both Texan and non-Texan craft beer. They only have craft beers on draught. If beer is not your thing, they have a selection of bud light, coors, etc. in bottles. A pretty quiet atmosphere the couple of times I've been. Overall a good place to enjoy a pint. read more
