This place is extremely overpriced... our service was horrible, she would walk by and not say anything. She was very uninformative has to keep checking her tablet before she would answer us. anything They don't have towel-lets to wash your hands. We asked for a dessert menu and never received one. Well today's visit was an ABSOLUTE FAILURE as others stated always good to have a place of this potential in the area, but I guess we will still have to wait. When my family and I visited we sat for 10-15 minutes and had ZERO waitstaff or even the MANGER acknowledge our existence even when we made eye contact they turned the other way. So of course there is not one location that will ever receive mine or my family's business. It's a good thing that Grub Kitchen & Bar is open and willing to accept my money. I was hoping for a little bit better. The catfish was very good the hush puppies (2) were excellent. The French fries were a disaster. Tiny, tiny pieces like the very bottom of a potato chip bag that has been sat on. The food went down from there. The calamari was over breaded and the only taste was the breading. We had to ask the waiter for silverware. After he brought that he never came back. No salt, pepper, catsup or hot sauce. We then had to wait for the check for over 20 minutes. I REALLY want this restaurant to do well. The food was great but the service was slow. When you are scarfing down really hot (spicy) shrimp boil, you need your drinks refilled quick. My son was drinking sweet tea and waited forever for a refill. Our beers, being priced like they are, were given a little more attention. Every time they came by the table it was " Oh yeah, your tea". Our server was doing her best. The place was understaffed. It was Father's Day lunch time. It was not swamped but they were busy and it seems management didn't anticipate being busy. Shell Shack management; Please do better than this. Being too tight to keep enough employees will ruin your business. Again, I love the Shell Shack and don't want to drive to Dallas for it. The food was just ok...I had Dungeness crab legs--Tasteless! I requested Cajun/Medium. They had very little flavor unless directly being dipped in the sauce. My cocktail was pretty good. I will likely go to other places for my crab legs in the future. read more

Small crab legs, they ran out of sausage, slow service, and definitely NOT worth the $100 my husband and I just spent for the "Date Night" meal. Slow service, no accommodation for running out of sausage, and was also told last minute that date night meal doesn't come with fries when i SPECIFICALLY asked if it did. Might have been a 1 star but the waitress were very nice and offered great service. The food was ok, not good not bad just ok. The worse thing was we were charged a "service charge" because we were a group of 10. I've travelled all over the world and I've never ever paid a service fee for a large group. For the amount of money we spent, we would have been better off eating at Crab Station. Out of the 12 raw oysters, only one was almost decently sweet like the gulf oysters. the rest very blah. We ordered the drinks, hurricane shack, taste more alcohol than the flavors it should tasted like, you know pineapple, grenadine and such. We ordered the Boss and the shrimp was crunchy but tasteless. The fried catfish was decent and the fries that came with it looked like it was cooked in old oil. Update as of 12/29/19-- My husband and I decided to give this another try. Glad we did! The food was awesome this time. Our waitress Carly was so friendly n new her menu well. The Manager Shawn new n friendly n made sure our foods was good. We definitely will be back. Keep It's sad that we waited for Shell Shack to open in Fort Worth so we don't have to drive so far to Uptown. The food in Uptown is amazing!! We have been to F W location 3 times and each time it's sucks. They never get our order right. Not sure to do this again. On July 1st we drove home(Keller) from Baylor Scott&White hospital in Dallas. I called Shell Shack several times to put in an order n couldn't get anyone to answer, so we drove there. I spoke to Ms Tee, she apologize for not answering n took my order. When we got home our order was nasty. Our 20 piece garlic butter shrimp was burnt n tough. Hush puppies were dry, our Catfish was over cooked n we got left over fries(small pieces).Not sure if it was bc it was 10:00pm n we got leftovers. It shouldn't happen that way. Me and my Fiancé usually come really late when we have sea food cravings and we love the food but the service hasn't always been the best. Yesterday around 6pm we took his parents out for dinner and chose shell shack and it was just a terrible experience, waited about half an hour to get our drinks, an hour for food to be brought to our table which was completely wrong and half of it was missing. Our waitress disappeared for about 45 minutes during this process so we asked someone else to speak to the manager who really was no help at all! We asked the manager how long it would take to get the food out and she told us she would check and be right back... she NEVER came back. They are completely understaffed and shouldn't take in more than they can handle. its sad because I really enjoy their food when handled properly! read more

Really disappointed. Both my wife and I ordered fried shrimp. They were rubbery in texture which indicates being overcooked. We had ordered a Caesar salad with dinner, but it never arrived. We asked that it be removed from our bill. Each of us were missing sauces that we had ordered. It appeared that they were understaffed as a lot of tables were empty and people were waiting to be seated. One couple that checked in right after us were still waiting to be seated as we were walking out after eating. I asked them if they were waiting on others, but they said it was just the two of them. Okay so I've been to this location MANY times, I've never had any issues except for tonight. I went out with a couple of friends, we got drinks and apps and originally wanted to sit outside but the server complained the WHOLE TIME. So we move inside and she was still complaining (she didn't tell us her name but she has short blonde hair) we ordered drinks and apps and took over 20 minutes for drinks and when she came back they were wrong, we all had THREE drinks and the server comes up to cut us off? She didn't come to the TABLE AT ALL and when she did it was 20 minutes after our drinks were empty. So me and my friends try to order one drink while we grab the tab and she refused to serve us for no reason. I called the manager and they didn't do anything to help or even fix the situation. I was so excited to go here since the Frisco and Mesquite location are so good. My first trip here was a total disappointment. I brought my cousin's, sister and niece here and mentioning how great it was. I was wrong. The snow crab was overcooked (very soft)and hardly had any of the seasoning (kitchen sink). I was so happy to see one so closer to home, but I don't think I will return to this location. The reason for 2 stars is because the drinks were good and the soda was fine when I finally received a refill. So I'm a bit disappointed. First time here was great! The food was excellent, the sauce so flavorful, I enjoyed it. Second time, not so much. The sauce tasted watered down and just overall wasn't as great as the first time around. What really did it for me was this 3rd time around when we decided to go ahead and try again. It was a bit busy but we were seated right away, all well and good, but we waited and waited and were completely ignored. After waiting for too long we just grabbed our stuff and left. We did not enjoy our time at Shell Shack. The food: 1.) Ordered the half pound of boiled shrimp, but didn't realize it came with the WHOLE shell on. Leaving the tail would make sense, but leaving the whole shell meant there wasn't any seasoning on the shrimp when the shell was removed... 2.) Ordered the fried shrimp, and they weren't de-veined... so they were full of 'waste' so to speak. Pretty gross. 3.) Substituted broccoli for rice on the salmon platter. We were still charged for the rice we did want or recieve, and they still added a charge for the broccoli. 4.) The fries were soggy and flaccid. 5.) Were the lemons cut several days ago? They were slimy, and collapsed into themselves like rotten avocados when squeezed. Service: 1.) Ordered a beer. We saw the beer was prepared fairly quickly, but it sat at the bar alone for a few minutes, which wouldnt be a big deal if there weren't only two other tables occupied in the place. 2.) Surprisingly slow. Again, only 3 tables occupied, including our group of 5. 3.) The waitress did not tell us about an additional charge when we asked if we could substitue broccoli for the rice. We found out when the bill came. 4.) Prices not in line with the service, or the quality of food. **our group is from Florida and Louisiana, so we're familiar with high and low quality seafood joints. My daughter and I had a wonderful experience today. The food was amazingly delicious! What made the experience so wonderful was Jaime and Houston/Marshall. They went out of their way to prepare the menu item that I wanted. It wasn't going to be available for a couple of hours but because I explained to them that we came because of that one menu item, the prepared it for me and I didn't even have to wait longer than usual. We were big fans of the uptown location when we lived there so we were super excited when they opened in Alliance! I know they had a few bumps when opening with kitchen times and larger than expected crowds but i encourage you to give them a chance. BE AWARE!! I want to start food was great and our server (Justin plus a trainee) was amazing last Sunday. But Monday I woke up to a phone call from my bank fraud dept due to a $1400 charge! We tipped $14.00. Immediately went to the restaurant and manager was great but had to refer me to their HQ. This is where it went wrong!!! Could not explain why I lost $1400 but they would contact me in 24-48 hours rudely (not acceptable). Finally got my $1400 back 72 hours later and a voice mail at 8am blaming the server punched in too many 00 (which I do not believe because it was a separate charge). The food is very good. Better than any other of these types of restaurants. However, the service is terrible. We've been done eating for 15 minutes and our waitress still hasn't been by to check on us or bring the check. We just watched another family get up and leave after being seated for about 10-15 minutes and nobody coming to greet them.
