Absolutely mouth watering and delicious food! I love their chicken swarma pita sandwich

Shawarmania is an amazing modern Egyptian to-go place. I love it for take out and delivery. The manager (Mohammed) and everyone else who works there are great guys. I recently ordered some catering from them for my birthday party and they were prompt, gave me a really good price, and the food was absolutely delicious (as usual). 5 stars for Shawarmania! I ordered from the restaurant for a customer lunch because the customer requested them. Jimmy, the owner, took my order over the phone and was willing to deliver all the way to Yonkers during lunch time. Very accommodating! My customers were so happy and enjoyed the food very much. The chicken and beef with rice were delicious and came with a beautiful, very fresh Mediterranean salad. Jimmy also delivered a nice tray of baklava - everything was great! Absolutely LOVE the food here. I wouldn't recommend this place for a sit down meal, although they do have a couple of tables to sit and eat if you wish. I usually get the kofta platter or the chicken shawarma sandwich and everything is so fresh and tastes great! Worst Dinner Experience! So, I saw this place while walking home, so I grabbed a menu. I had a feeling it was too good to be true. When i called to place the order the gentleman that took my order was very nice, but nice only gets you so far. We ordered 2 lamb/beef/falafel sandwiches, with one side of fries, extra tahini and hot sauce on the side and a diet coke. We ended up getting 2 CHICKEN/falafel sandwiches, with one side of fries NO soda and NO tahini or hot sauce. I called back to explain that our order got completely mixed up. They assured me they would correct it and get it over to us asap. 10 mins later they called to go over the order again...Why a second time...i don't know. Finally the order arrives. Still no extra tahini or hot sauce and both sandwiches were cold. We ended up not eating them and tossing all 4 sandwiches in the trash. Trust me...the taste horrible, so I didn't care what we paid. Don't go here. It is more of a headache than anything else!! read more

Stopped by this place for the chicken lunch box special, even though it was 7pm. The price was about $7, and the food was delicious. Since then I have tried the kofta platter, the half&half platter (chicken and lamb), and the lamb chops (which took about 12 minutes but the cashier was cool because he informed me in advance)...excited to try more things!!! read more

This spot is seriously awesome. I've been here a few times since starting to work in the area and have to say that the place seems to be pretty clean, the people working here are friendly, and the food is put together pretty quickly. The only downside is that I can think of, is that I once called in an order and arrived to have them not know that I had done so. Otherwise this is a pretty solid spot. read more

Five stars so far! Their falafel is amazeballs and fried to order. They were on point about customizing my sandwich (I'm allergic to tahini-sesame) and I love the pickled veggies. I've eaten from here half dozen times or so and always get the same thing: lamb and beef shawarma sandwich and it's always been decent, but tonight my and my husband's sandwiches were incredibly gross and inedible. The beef and lamb shawarma had the consistency of beef jerky and incredibly salty with an odd after taste. I hope to god it wasn't bad meat that and that we don't get food poisoning. I called the restaurant to give them a head's up but they didn't seem very concerned. They instead offered me two sandwiches for free the next time we're there. I won't be going back. read more

My first review of Shawarmania was quite negative. Since then, I've taken my own advice and never ordered delivery from here, but have visited the restaurant twice to dine-in. Both times the food was been tasty, plentiful, and priced right. More importantly, the service in the restaurant was great and the gentleman working the register went out of his way to make sure everyone was satisfied. When ever I hear the word Shawarma I think fondly of the time I've spent in the Middle East eating dirt cheap Shawarma from street cards. After doing some boozing with Ingrid S the other night I decided to pull out the hand Yelp App and look what's nearby. Sure enough it leads us to Shawarmania. This is a decent place to fulfill your shawarma cravings. As others have noted, I'm not wild about their dips, but the beets with tzatziki is solid choice. I've had a falafel sandwich here, as well as a chicken shawarma/falafel (shawafel - hehe, cute!) platter. Sandwiches and rice platters have tasted fresh and are big enough for two meals. Food is inexpensive and service is cheerful - I'll keep going back. I do, however, hope that they continue to work on their dips. Shawarmafries: so good. The chicken is tender, the sauce is flavor heaven, and it's on top of fries. Dreams really do come true. The first time I got it the fries were nice and soft. They were the perfect texture for shawarma fries. The second time, most of the fries were soaked in old grease, hard, and crunchy (but not the good kind of crunchy).
