Within ten minutes, it became a full-contact sport involving napkins and a high probability of a food coma. ​The Lineup: ​The Ori Emo: Pure Pat LaFrieda beef doing the heavy lifting. Classic, juicy, and gone in about four bites. ​Da Wink: Added applewood bacon because we aren't here to play it safe. It's "wink-at-your-trainer-while-you-skip-the-gym" good. ​Weary Fries: Appropriately named. Between the mozzarella, grilled corn, and double aioli, these fries are so heavy they should come with a structural engineering permit. ​BBQ Wings: Hand-battered, crispy, and sweet. The only thing they didn't survive was my sons. ​The Finish Line: We topped it off with a chocolate shake thick enough to defy physics and their famous bread pudding. I always order mine without the pickles, however I recommend you don't skip the sauce as it's part of the magic! Their House Sauce is seriously so good that I always order 2-3 of them to dip my fries into. Just a heads up - the veggie burger is a bit on the small side compared to what you might be used to, however I think it's the perfect size! Especially since I always get fries to go with it. I recommend you download their app - not only is there a point system involved, but you can also easily order ahead via the app! I've done this a few times and it's a seamless process. I substituted the brioche bun for the 8-grain one and added avocado ($12.95 for the burger + $1.00 for bun sub + $1.75 for avocado. The burger was juicy, tasty, and very filling. At that point I assumed they were being delivered by horseback. The drinks finally came, watered down and mediocre. We eventually ordered a second round, and somehow three different people became involved in getting us drinks. One of them came over to ask for my wife's name for the order (?). I genuinely started wondering if we were applying for a mortgage. How many people does it take to make a cocktail here? Literally let me behind the bar and I'll mix the martini myself. It takes under 60 seconds at any bar in Manhattan, but somehow in Flushing, every drink order takes 45 minutes.
