Souvlaki lunch Pork Chops Platter
Lucy A.

Are you in the mood for authentic Greek food? Then you found the right place! The service was fantastic. My souvlaki lunch platter was amazing and the ambience made me feel like I was sitting in Greece. My tip look for the lunch specials.

Pork Chops Platter

By far the best greek food in all of astoria. Serving sizes are huge, their grilled meats are always delicious, food comes out super quick. Everything we've tried on the menu has been incredible. The service is amazing and the menu is very affordable. It's locally owned and by two brothers who are lovely. Ambiance is great, there's a nice enclosed outdoor section with heat lamps so you can sit out there even in winter. Highly recommend!!

No because this place EATSSS. One platter will send you home with plenty of leftovers. The food is so good and I love when the pork gyro is crispy on the outside. Like yessssss I liveeee. I've come here twice and I will continue to do so any time I want Greek food. Never change queen. Also our server was so fierce and kind. He was super attentive and I just lived for him. Queen if you're reading this I hope they give you a raise

Small Mix Grill PlatterA great Greek resteraunt in the heart of Astoria. For 70 dollars you get a tremendous amount of food that's simply delicious to say the least.I met 2 tourists from Nashville that wanted to try Greek food and it was excellent to say the least.A wonderful spot for tasty food and great atmosphere. You can't go wrong at Nikos!

Pork Gyro Pita

$10 gyro for lunch? Can't beat it. The pork was so flavorful and has that perfect crispy crunch. Delish! Super friendly staff! Great service. Very cute interior and lovely patio. 10/10 would recommend.

Tried the kovosouvli chicken plate and it was the perfect size for 2 people! It was fun to get it to go and picnic at Astoria park. We also tried a couple of Greek beers which paired well with the food. The beer was light and it was a nice vibe for a picnic!

Combo of 3 Spreads

Came here with friends for lunch one day and the food was superb! The restaurant isn't too big, but I think there was seating outside as well. Service is friendly and prompt, prices and portions are also reasonable. Combo of 3 Spreads: tzatziki, niko's sauce, and tyrokafteri sauce. I can't remember which one was my favorite but they were all pretty good and came with the fluffiest pita breads. We pretty much dipped everything into these spreads, they were nice portions too Pork Platter: the pieces of pork were so crispy but still soo juicy! Almost like crispy pork belly. I would say the portion is pretty generous as our party of five were left feeling satiated, but that might also be we went crazy on the pita bread and dip. Okay maybe it was the carbs that left us stuffed haha Skepasti: I think this was the name of what we ordered, it looked like a quesadilla with the meat sandwiched into pita bread and lots of cheese. Super cheesy and soft, it's yummy

Niko's Souvlaki restaurant offers an amazing dining experience with beautiful decor, though my friends and I chose to sit outside to enjoy the lovely day. Post-gym and starving, we ordered Greek fries as an appetizer, followed by the Small Grill Platter and Chicken Skepasti as our main courses. The portions were impressive, though I wouldn't order the Greek fries again since the Skepasti included a generous serving of fries. The Greek fries are more on the softer side, well-seasoned but not crunchy, the Skepasti was a flavor bomb with perfectly paired ingredients. The Small Grill Platter, very thoroughly seasoned, it was delicious with a variety of meats on a bed of soft pita bread. The staff was sweet and patient, making the overall experience at Niko's Souvlaki amazing. Definitely recommend. (Small update: I had the leftovers the next day and it was just amazing)

After a nice day walking in Astoria park, decided to walk in to this restaurant to have some food. I ordered their cucumber salad, with veggie appetizer, and two chicken skewers. The food was okay. I thought the veggie appetizer was probably the best dish I ordered. The chicken was dry. I took 3 stars off because the service was pretty bad. We sat down and it took them a long time to take our order. The server did not introduce themselves. They seemed focused on their phones rather than taking care of their customers. The food did come out quickly. However, they gave me the wrong sauce. I asked for Tzataski sauce and they gave me Niko's sauce instead.

Excellent souvlaki and lamb chops.! We came here twice this past summer, once; for a sit-down and once for a quick and light meal. On the first occasion, we met the owner Nik who personally served us. Very early in the pandemic, he took a chance. He opened a new souvlaki restaurant with gyros, souvlaki, lamb shanks, and other Greek dishes. Nikos Souvlaki has become the best souvlaki restaurant in Astoria. Indeed, my friend found them so good that he recommended them to his friends in Forest Hills. Our first meal was a quick indoor meal where we ordered chicken and pork souvlaki platters. The meal lasted under an hour, and we ordered some Greek appetizers and a salad. The second meal meal the following week was much longer and more expensive as we ate outside. This time it was a rack of lamb chops, tarama, and Greek salad. The whole meal took much longer to prepare and lasted almost two hours. In both cases, we came away full and very satisfied. My experience there on both occasions is that this is a firm recommendation. The restaurant has a lovely bistro/café feel, but I can't say it scores well on ambiance and atmosphere. It was pretty dead when we arrived at the end of the week. Overall a very positive experience!

It's really been a while since I've ordered anything (I've been very good on my Keto diet and have been making meals at home) so I really was SUPER excited to try out this new-ish place, that just happens to be around the corner from my apartment. Well, I ordered the Chicken Gyro Platter for pick-up and was happy they had taken into consideration my request of substituting rice for a salad. Lo and behold, as I am still going strong on my low-carb kick, I was over the moon to try the protein-packed awesomeness that is chicken! No exaggerating--this was probably my worst experience with grilled chicken. Aside from having it ever undercooked, which is always TERRIBLE too of course, this chicken looked sooooooo well done (yes, I did request it) that it seemingly had hardened?! I mean, seriously. Not burnt. Not charred. Simply..... hard. The outside of it was just.... also bland. And did I mention HARD?! As if you'd left it out for a few days or in the back of your fridge not covered. I had no idea how else to better explain it than to shoot a video of it. It will possibly do ME some justice. Sorry for the shit review. Now I'm off to make a keto meal

It was okay, on par with the other Greek eateries in Astoria and I've eaten in all of them. A bit more expensive than most.

The whole vibe felt warm and made it a really nice family dinner. My grandma and mom both seemed happy and enjoyed everything, which honestly mattered most. We ordered two Greek salads (definitely could've gotten away with just one -- they're huge and very shareable). We also had the Mediterranean spreads: tzatziki, eggplant, and a spicy spread. Everything was solid and great for sharing. We also got grilled octopus as an appetizer -- super tender and really well done. For my main, I had the grilled deboned red snapper -- absolutely delicious. It came with a creamy lemon sauce on the side that you can pour over the fish, plus oregano fries and grilled vegetables. The veggies were amazing, especially the grilled onions that just melted in your mouth. We also ordered takeout: kefte kebab with fries, which was maybe smaller portion but it was good flavor. For dessert we had a baklava float (I think that was the name) with coffees to finish. Very happy with the whole meal overall. Drinks at the bar beforehand were also a highlight -- sangria and a gin, lavender, elderflower, cucumber cocktail that my grandma actually loved.

Each one was vibrant and flavorful -- perfect for sharing (or not). Then came the feast: marinated and grilled squid, swordfish steak, red snapper, lamb chops, crispy potatoes, and more sides than we could reasonably justify ordering... but absolutely did anyway. Our waiter thoughtfully asked if we had any allergies. By the end of the meal -- slightly comatose, blissfully full, and having completely lost track of time -- we realized the only thing we might be allergic to is work. Bahari isn't just lunch -- it's an escape.

We had a salad, with slices of fresh feta, Greek olives even dill, cut nice and chewable. Three of us shared appetizers. George warmly welcomed us and even let us know that street parking would be free after 7:00 p.m.--a small but thoughtful gesture that set the tone right away. The restaurant had a lively, inviting energy, and throughout the meal, George delivered truly five-star service. He mentioned he's been there over 18 years, and it clearly shows in his effortless, seasoned, and genuinely attentive hospitality. Complimentary bread and water with a generous bowl of fresh lemons arrived immediately, a simple yet appreciated touch. We shared a medium Greek salad and grilled octopus--both outstanding, with the octopus especially tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We even took a few bites before remembering to snap a photo. The salad was served with olive oil and herb-infused vinegar on the side, allowing you to dress it exactly to your liking. For our mains, I ordered the grilled whole porgy, while my husband chose the shrimp spaghetti. The portion of fish was quite generous--I ended up taking most of it home, as I was already satisfied after the appetizers. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his pasta, and after tasting a couple of his shrimp, I completely understood why--it was delicious. To finish, we were each treated to a complimentary piece of galaktoboureko, a thoughtful and fitting end to the meal. Warm hospitality, a vibrant atmosphere, and well-executed dishes made this a truly enjoyable experience. We'll definitely be back.
