Anassa - 10/10 Greek Dining Experience My best friend and I dined at Anassa, and oh. my. God. This Greek restaurant is absolutely phenomenal. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-tier above and beyond. Parking tip: Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but there's a two-hour MPG Parking Garage directly across the street. You grab a ticket there, and once you're done dining, the restaurant signs it parking is fully accommodated as long as it's within two hours. Super convenient. Let's talk appetizers because they STOLE the show. They start you off with table bread and hummus, and let me say this: I am not a hummus person, but this hummus? It absolutely hit the spot. Even if you don't like hummus, try it. We ordered the Mediterranean spread Tzatziki - fresh and delicious Tirokafteri (spicy feta) - PHENOMENAL, easily a standout Eggplant - very bland; I'd skip this unless you truly love eggplant Still, one miss didn't take away from the experience at all. Saganaki Cheese - PLEASE get this. Fried Greek Gruyère cheese served sizzling in a skillet with honey and lemon. This dish will knock you off your feet. Don't debate it just order it. You're welcome. Classic Greek Salad (no lettuce) Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, onions, olives, and feta fresh, flavorful, and perfect. We got extra dressing, which took it to the next level. Entrées: I ordered the Kefta Kebab (lamb) served with oregano fries, tzatziki, pita absolutely delicious. The pita bread alone deserves a mention. My friend had the lobster ravioli, and she said it was amazing. Honestly, the appetizers were so indulgent that we could barely get through our entrées but we still powered through and took leftovers home. Dessert: Orange cake with Greek yogurt and vanilla ice cream. Yes. Just yes. Final thoughts: Anassa is a 10 out of 10. Whether you're celebrating a birthday, planning a romantic night, or just catching up with friends, this place delivers. The music isn't overwhelming, the service is exceptional, and the food is unforgettable. Highly, highly recommend!

Early to arrive and greeted with a smile. Directed to wait at the bar. Alejandro, the bartender was friendly and made a recommendation and ensured I had water to maintain hydration. My party arrived and we were seated at a booth. The restaurant filled up because it was great. We had the restaurant week menu. All four of us were delighted with our choices. A complimentary shot of ouzo

Very nice ambiance- food was delicious! We had the fried calamari, octopus, kids pasta with butter, grilled chicken and fries, Greek salad, kefta with fries. Enjoyed everything. Took a star off because the service could of been better. We wanted another round of drinks but the waiter was no where to be found. All of the waterglasses were empty. Going to places where I have to flag down the waiter is a no for me.

My fav thing to do is get dressed up and go to dinner. My family and I came here on a summer Saturday night. Reservations are highly suggested..... it was packed when we arrived at 8pm. Within minutes we were greeted and shown to our table. We did wait a bit before our waiter came over to introduce himself. By the time he did we had already looked over the menu and placed our entire order. The romaine salad and Greek meatballs were some of the best I've ever had! I went with an Espresso Martini for my cocktail of choice (made with Gin instead of Vodka as requested), it was perfect! Not too strong and the espresso still pushing through the Gin. Our entrees came in a timely fashion. We all enjoyed our meals. We would definitely come back!

Wonderful place, great atmosphere, decor and ambience, delicious food and drink, excellent service by Armando and his team. We came from Southern Brooklyn and LI and were glad that we did.

3.5 stars which just ok. The restaurant had a beautiful atmosphere and excellent service, but the food was just mediocre. There are far better Greek places that are authentic in the area. We had the Saganaki and beet salad for our appetizers. The Saganaki was very good, but the beets in the salad tasted like it was straight from a can. For entrees we had the filet and kofta kabobs and sea bass plaki. The kebabs were good, but the sea bass plaki was very bland. For desserts we had the orange cake and the chocolate cake both were mediocre and not worth ordering. Nothing was terrible here, but nothing was amazing either. Overall it was mediocre and not worth a second visit.

Got the burger here and realized, I should have gotten actual Greek food. Burger was good! But.. simple. Also, forgot to ask for cheese and wasn't reminded. Fix beer is great tho, and the table bread makes up for the burger. Fries were crispy. I'd go here again *for Greek food and seafood*

I really wish I could give this place 5 stars, but I can't bring myself to do that. The food was amazing. It was Mother's Day and fairly busy, but not as busy as I've been to other restaurants which were more able to handle the volume. We were told that we had a time limit of 2 hours, because they need the table, yet... It took over an hour to receive our main course. Without anyone telling us anything. After we became frustrated and asked we were told "five minutes or less" which was false information, because it came out in like 15 to 20 minutes. We ate our food quickly. At that point we were very hungry. We had to wave down our server to ask for the check. When he arrived he asked if we'd like to see the dessert menu or have some coffee. With the time we waited coffee should have been offered to us for free at that point. Any sort of gratitude would have been nice, but hey they didn't even really come often enough to refill our water so what am I thinking? The ambiance was beautiful. Nice artwork and lighting. I'd also like to add that it seemed like they paid closer attention to the larger groups & less to the smaller families. Overall a good experience food wise. Doubt we will ever return.

We started with the octopus...delicious! Sliced thin and grilled to perfection with a flavorful sauce. A squeeze of lemon and we were set! For mains, I ordered the lbronzino. Very good with a simple lemon sauce. Came with a side of lemon potatoes that were very tasty. My girlfriend ordered the fillet mignon skewer. Also very good. Service and atmosphere were excellent. Overall, a great meal...We will definitely return!

The host was attentive, and we were seated right away--always a good start. I was a little surprised when the server handed us the menus and we opened the front flap to discover... tablets. That said, I actually appreciated the photos of each menu item--it made ordering easier and faster. Now, the food. Hands down, this was the best Mediterranean food I've had in the U.S. We ordered the chicken shawarma tacos and a side of falafel. The falafel was soft on the inside (not dry at all) and crispy on the outside, sitting in a bed of the smoothest tahini cream I've ever tasted--and I don't even like tahini. The chicken was incredibly flavorful, and every bite actually had chicken. No skimping on the protein here. The pita pocket was small but soft and fresh, not dry. Best part: the chicken taco came with small sides of hummus, baba ganoush, creamed tahini, and finely chopped tomatoes and cucumbers. Boom. Every single element was delicious. One downside: there's only one restroom, it's small, and while it's tastefully decorated, it could have used a bit more attention. Would I go back? 100% yes. I honestly wish I could teleport this place back home with me so I could become a regular.

I did not appreciate the way she spoke to me and the attitude I received to the point my friends and I were in shock and after paying left most of our last drinks on the table because we had had such a poor experience at this restaurant. I understand it was one of the first nice days here in NYC and there were a lot of people sitting outside. I cannot believe that we did not even speak to our waitress until over an hour after sitting down. typically you at least stop by the table quickly to apologize and get a drink order. while I can be accommodating to the fact that the waitress said she was new, and she was apologetic as well as the manager's offer to comp one round of drinks, I am not understanding of the bartender's approach to argue with me about how a drink is made. cannot recommend going here until they get better service.

Located on First Avenue, between 61-62nd Streets. In warm weather, there are a few small outdoor tables. We have several appetizers for the table. We enjoyed the fresh, beautiful salad. Several of my colleagues were very impressed with the olive oil on the salad. I just know that all the food I ate was delicious. LOL ABOUT THAT SALAD--the beautiful red tomatoes, cut in quarter chunks were delicious. The round, thin slices of cucumber with a yummy dressing were great. I tasted a bit of sweetness at first bite with the cucumber slices . My faves were the tomatoes and cucumbers in the salad, there was also fresh red onion, green pepper, possibly red pepper too. Overall, a delicious salad, served feta cheese triangles. Other appetizers we enjoyed were: Spinach pie, fresh warm Pita triangles with delicious dips, a round, deep fried feta cheese ...if you can imagine an egg roll, but with feta cheese inside, and a honey sauce. my entrée was absolutely delicious. It was the Koftedes Plate, featuring delicious lamb/beef patties, juicy and delicious. As far as I was concerned, my flavor on these was totally lamb. Absolutely delicious. Also on the plate: mixed greens, red pepper delicious tzatziki sauce in a small dipping cup-perfect size. And a yummy rice portion-loved it! The lamb patties were on top of the warm pita. I loved this.!! It was flavorful, juicy, and delicious. Many of my colleagues ordered the chicken kebabs and they loved it. The plates also had mixed greens and a sauce. And one person had the dorado fish which she said was delicious; a small size portion size but delicious. I missed seeing the fish, I was busy eating the yummy food in front of us. Sorry, I didn't photo the fish. I look forward to coming back. I might even have the same thing again! It was so good. Service was excellent, friendly, fun and professional and patient. Atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely. Unisex rest room was clean, and small. On the street, You'll see flowers surrounding the front windows and entrance. And, in nice weather, there are usually a few small tables outside.
