We ordered the mixed grill platter with juicy gyro, perfectly charred souvlaki, and those addictive roasted potatoes. The grilled octopus was tender with the perfect char, the whole fish was flaky and bright with lemon, and the spanakopita? Flaky, cheesy, and just like homemade. A NYC food influencer highlighted this family-owned restaurant in a strip mall in Jackson Heights, and I needed dinner so I placed an order. I ordered a chicken & pork souvlaki combination platter, spinach pie, a traditional Greek salad and a baklava. If I had a Greek grandma I'd imagine her food would taste like this. The meats were tender, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. The lemon potatoes were equally tasty and delicious. The spinach pie was packed with flavor AND SPINACH. I know there are tons of Greek restaurants in NYC&Queens) but please check out Plaka, it's definitely worth the trip to Jackson Heights, take your friends!!! Finally had the chance to try this place out, and we ordered take out. And boy, we're we impressed by the seafood combination entree. The octopus was so tender and grilled to perfection, wow wow wow. The calamari itself was just as tender, the veggies on the bottom were a great touch. The lemon potatoes were probably the best lemon potatoes I ever had in my life and I'm not exaggerating on that!! The chicken soulvaki with rice was amazing and I would prefer if they gave a little more sauce and perhaps wrap the bread in aluminum foil rather a parchment paper. I will be ordering from this place more often to try out what other dishes they have to offer :) read more
