Rounded up to 5 stars Aliada is a very comfortable neighborhood restaurant. The menu offers a variety of appetizers and entrees. Everything that we ordered was flavorful and delicious. The portion size is generous and the staff is attentive.

Amazing delicious authentic Greek food! We went for the prix fixe lunch family style and it was so much food, they gave us extra dishes to try too! Everything was great, I really enjoyed the Greek spread - salmon dip , hummus, baked halloumi cheese , octopus, shrimp, mussels , branzino - so fantastic, it was an enjoyable birthday! Staff were very attentive and friendly!

Have been wanting to try this for a while. I would say it's a pretty nice vibe, kinda feels like Greece on a random Astoria street. Service was good, they let us take our time and finish our food. Onto the food, it was pretty good. We got one of the white fishes and it went well with the capers and olive oil. Calamari was pretty good, honestly felt pretty good eating it since it was deep fired in oil. Lamb chops were really good too. Overall, would definitely recommend especially on a nice summer/fall day.

6 of us made a reservation along with a baby, and they were able to provide a high chair. It's relatively small and all the tables were packed even on a Wed night. They started us off with complimentary pita (came hot!) And hummus. - Calamari app was my favorite thing here. We got it fried and it was executed perfectly with the meat still so tender and chewy. - Moussaka was surprisingly good too, the best version I've had so far. A good portion and a nice ratio of all the different ingredients - Lamb chops were good as well but I only had a few pieces (4 pieces in total) so I couldn't eat too much of it. - Grilled octopus was good too. It came presliced and I prefer it whole but it was well cooked and not rubbery - Branzino was standard and fine too. We got the bigger version. - The steamed Mussels and the Zucchini croquettes were not bad but wouldn't get again. Sides: giant beans (love these but I prefer Bahari's version), French fries (shoestring, solid version), and lemon potatoes (standard, might get something else next time)

This is my third time here. I highly recommend this place if you want quality Greek food! They serve fresh hummus and pita. The octopus as a starter was delicious. I also like the Mousaka- it's like a soft Greek lasagna but no pasta just ground meat and cream and eggplant. Also recommend the cocktails - the Le Mon was perfect- a vodka lemonade with just the right amount of alcohol. They sat us outside in their heated area and it was a warm November night. I asked for the heater to be turned off as it was directly above my seat. They were very considerate. There was a loud evangelist man shouting on a microphone on the street and they asked if we wanted to move but we decided to stay since he moved shortly afterwards. The food is pricey but worth it! Super stuffed and each time I always take home food.

Smaller than I expected, but the shieftalia was better than I expected never having it before. Right amount of flavor and taste and easy to cut up. Bread was fine. Fries were fine too-but sharply cut. The tahini sauce was great! Ordered as take-out. Also, I did ask for utensils but none were provided.

Octopus was one to remember and would recommend. Same with the brazino. Koupepia which was the vine leaves was also good but small for the portion size. Mousaka was okay, seemed too much cream for our taste. Would come back to try again though. Seafood was great. Ambiance outside was a bit darker than would have liked though. Actually got a slight splinter from the chairs... so be careful. Service was good. Was celebrating a friend's birthday and we saw another table receive a cake with a candle while our friend did not, though was indicated on our reservation.

Ate here today for lunch and dinner after work as a substitute paraprofessional at P.S. 234 Q. I had brought and ate the chicken souvlaki skewers with fries and baklava that it had tasted really good and delicious. The service there was also attentive, pleasant and friendly. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time.

Headed to Astoria for the afternoon, and of course, one has to get some Greek food while in the area. Booked Aliada after seeing some high reviews and after passing by it. The place is super pretty with a very homey Mediterranean vibe. The indoor seating isn't that big, but they also have a lovely outdoor seating area perfect for a summer day. They immediately served us up some free bread and yellow lentil(?) dip. This was good! Also just gotta love a free bread sitch. 1. Greek salad: I've had many Greek salads, but for some reason this hits different. The dolmas that came on top were outstanding- probably one of the best ones I've had. Exquisite juicy tomatoes. Yum. 2. Grilled octopus: damn. I don't know how they got it this tender. Great char on the outside and so soft on the inside. Not chewy at all. Damn this was good. 3. Chicken kebab: this was probably a bit of a letdown. The chicken was tough and overcooked. Expected much more since one knows how the Greeks can grill their meats well. The tzatziki sauce on the side was good though. 4. Roasted Greek veg: free side with the chicken. This was a generous portion for a side and really good. Chunks of aubergine, potatoes, etc. stewed in a tomato sauce. Overall, food was great (save for the chicken which was overcooked). Would definitely still come back to try their other stuff since they all looked good! Vibe was great. Honestly one of the better Greek restos in NY! And prices were reasonable

stopped by here on a Saturday around 2pm and was quickly able to get seated - they have indoor and some outdoor seating in a heated and covered patio. the service is very quick and the waiters were all nice. the restaurant is small and cute but has a great atmosphere! highly recommend the halloumi fries and the baked feta, they were an absolute hit at our table!

A great find in an area with lots of good Greek options. The ambiance is classy but unpretentious, the service is great without feeling hovered over, and the food was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and well plated. We started off with a Greek (horiatiki) salad and shared a halloumi dish to start (one of our favorite cheeses). Then we split the branzino and mixed grill which included pork and chicken souvlaki, lamb, shieftalia and of course more halloumi cheese. We finished off with baklava, which was also amazing. Highly recommend.

That said, I actually appreciated the photos of each menu item--it made ordering easier and faster. Now, the food. Hands down, this was the best Mediterranean food I've had in the U.S. We ordered the chicken shawarma tacos and a side of falafel. The falafel was soft on the inside (not dry at all) and crispy on the outside, sitting in a bed of the smoothest tahini cream I've ever tasted--and I don't even like tahini. The chicken was incredibly flavorful, and every bite actually had chicken. No skimping on the protein here. The pita pocket was small but soft and fresh, not dry. Best part: the chicken taco came with small sides of hummus, baba ganoush, creamed tahini, and finely chopped tomatoes and cucumbers. Boom. Every single element was delicious. One downside: there's only one restroom, it's small, and while it's tastefully decorated, it could have used a bit more attention. Would I go back? 100% yes. I honestly wish I could teleport this place back home with me so I could become a regular.

Got a hummus and some brunch mains (hummus was to share but mostly for our toddler to get started during the wait). 30 min or so passed before they showed up with the hummus. I initially thought they decided to bring everything together so it took so long but no. Had to wait another 30 min for the mains. I had to ask for more bread since 1 hummus for 5 people was clearly not sufficient and taking 1 hour to deliver brunch food in an almost empty restaurant is beyond unreasonable. Took them another 40 min to get a piece of pita bread out, came after the 1-hour-wait mains. Manager came to apologize and said she will come back "to walk us through what happened and what they can comp". Okay... of course she never came back and the waiter took off a coffee and hummus off the bill. The two cheapest items. Not even the overpriced mocktails that are sugar water priced like an alcoholic drink and literally cost them nothing. Hummus I couldn't even eat because after 1 hour of waiting had to really entertain the toddler (who behaved perfectly until over 1 hour of sitting around in one spot starving). Really disappointing and concerning that the restaurant seems to be creating fake positive reviews that mislead customers about the actual quality.

Located on First Avenue, between 61-62nd Streets. In warm weather, there are a few small outdoor tables. We have several appetizers for the table. We enjoyed the fresh, beautiful salad. Several of my colleagues were very impressed with the olive oil on the salad. I just know that all the food I ate was delicious. LOL ABOUT THAT SALAD--the beautiful red tomatoes, cut in quarter chunks were delicious. The round, thin slices of cucumber with a yummy dressing were great. I tasted a bit of sweetness at first bite with the cucumber slices . My faves were the tomatoes and cucumbers in the salad, there was also fresh red onion, green pepper, possibly red pepper too. Overall, a delicious salad, served feta cheese triangles. Other appetizers we enjoyed were: Spinach pie, fresh warm Pita triangles with delicious dips, a round, deep fried feta cheese ...if you can imagine an egg roll, but with feta cheese inside, and a honey sauce. my entrée was absolutely delicious. It was the Koftedes Plate, featuring delicious lamb/beef patties, juicy and delicious. As far as I was concerned, my flavor on these was totally lamb. Absolutely delicious. Also on the plate: mixed greens, red pepper delicious tzatziki sauce in a small dipping cup-perfect size. And a yummy rice portion-loved it! The lamb patties were on top of the warm pita. I loved this.!! It was flavorful, juicy, and delicious. Many of my colleagues ordered the chicken kebabs and they loved it. The plates also had mixed greens and a sauce. And one person had the dorado fish which she said was delicious; a small size portion size but delicious. I missed seeing the fish, I was busy eating the yummy food in front of us. Sorry, I didn't photo the fish. I look forward to coming back. I might even have the same thing again! It was so good. Service was excellent, friendly, fun and professional and patient. Atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely. Unisex rest room was clean, and small. On the street, You'll see flowers surrounding the front windows and entrance. It was around 7:00 and only a few tables were occupied near the window, while the rest of the dining room was empty, as well as the bar. We informed the bartender that we were gluten free and started with the tuna tartar gluten free (no soy sauce). It came out with regular bread which the bartender quickly absconded from the runner as it was not gluten free. I appreciated the urgency and thanked him. By the time the gluten free flatbread came out, we had taken a bite of the tuna. It was warm, and it tasted like it's been left out for a while. The color you see in the picture is not filtered. We thought maybe it was the lighting above the bar, but sadly, it wasn't. When we were asked if we were ready to order entrees, I explained to the bartender that we need the check because that tuna was absolutely awful and should never be served to a guest. He looked bewildered but gave us the check. We were charged $25 for that obviously expired tuna tartar. Now that I've checked Yelp, I see that the restaurant has multiple health code violations. I'm not surprised given the lack of quality and complete disregard for guest service. Sadly, another once fine restaurant is off my list of places to go.

The place inside was pretty quiet, as there weren't that many diners, and the server we had was friendly and professional. The prices are on the higher end, but it's an Italian spot on the Upper East Side, and they serve seafood primarily, so it's to be expected. To drink, I had a decent negroni from the cocktail menu. It was $20 and was called Unico, named after the amaro of the same name. I don't remember the other details of the ingredients, with the drink having bitter orange flavor along with a bit of sweetness and some light licoricey notes. In short, it was alright. They gave us some warm, decent bread with pretty good olive oil to begin with. I was in the mood entirely for seafood, so I started with a crudo. Before ordering, while someone else got a glass of wine, I asked what the daily crudo special was. Apparently, it was tuna, presumably sliced from his description, and served with plums, scallion, and olive oil for $24. Instead, I went with the standard Tuna from the menu for the same price, which was cut tartare style and served with stracciatella, pistachio, lime, and parsley oil. The tuna was plentiful, and the meaty tuna worked well with the relatively rich cheese. The pistachios added some crunch, while the lime helped reduce the richness, though I do wish there was a bit more. Others enjoyed the burrata duo, watermelon salad, or arugula salad, though the burrata looked a bit overpriced at $30. My main dish was the $37 Swordfish alla Mediterranea, consisting of grilled swordfish steak served over tomato and Taggiasche olive sauce, along with some toasted pine nuts. It was a relatively large portion of swordfish, and it was cooked beautifully, being tender and meaty. I liked the sauce as well as the crunch from the pine nuts, and the occasional sour bite from either the cooked-down tomatoes or olives. My only complaint would probably be that there wasn't enough sauce on the bottom, but the fish was good enough that it was almost unneeded. Others enjoyed the rigatoni sausage & peppers, the linguine clams, or the halibut. I didn't try any of them, but apparently, the pasta was delicious, though the portion size was definitely on the smaller end, with most pasta dishes ranging from $25-$30. Having already spent a good chunk of change on the appetizer and entree, I didn't bother having dessert. Someone enjoyed the Cannoli for $12, which came with three miniature ones, making the price more reasonable. Three others got an order of the $15 Double Chocolate Mousse, which they all seemed to enjoy. This was a tasty meal. Going to bump up my rating a bit as it's new, but would still get a bit over a 4 if this wasn't the case. Would recommend if you are in the area and looking for fancier fish.

This way, anyone who disagrees with me is really disagreeing with Big Tony. It's a great way to grab the head-turning polarization of a hot take, but without any of the personal responsibility. A way to say something controversial without saying anything at all. A genius chess move to be sure, but complete and utter RAT behavior. I say this, my dear reader, as a reformed rat. All this to say, I recently moved to the UES and have been desperately trying to prove Big Tony wrong. One of my big bros recommended Chamoun's way, saying it's one of his favorite takeout spots in the city. I've been desperate for a decent, non-slop bowl takeout restaurant up here so I went the next day. I walked into a clean hole in the wall, and was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of choices on the menu, but ended up going with the Chamoun's healthy bowl ($14.99) and some grape leaves. After 1 bite my faith in the good lord, and in the Upper East Side, were restored. The chicken and rice were both phenomenal, but the veggies were really what showed out. The turnip pickles and jalapeno peppers were clearly fresh, which leads me to believe everything coming out of here is fresh. It felt like I was eating the home cooked meal of someone's Lebanese granny. The grape leaves were also clearly just wrapped, as the rice inside was warm with the leaf being room temp. You gotta respect this attention to detail. I've already been back a few times since, and it is my new goto takeout spot in all of NYC. I'll probably get it again tonight. You will always be greeted with a smile here, treated respectfully, and leave well-nourished. I wish nothing but success for this place!
