Ordered $52 worth of food to go. As I was being ringed up, I asked for hot sauce to which the guy at the front said it's the green sauce and in the bag. Another gentleman ordering next to me, said he doesn't want his hot sauce. So I said, cool, give it to me. Right away the cashier said, he can't give it to me and he will charge $2.00 additional. Like seriously? I walked away. Got home, food was bland.

Back in the day this place used to be called Local Kitchen and I was a weekly regular. Flaming Grill is the same place, just a different name. I love the salad bar. The ingredients are so fresh and good, as are their prepared foods. 100x better and cheaper than Create down the block.

Great eatery. Healthy choices when you want to get away from fast food. Store is always clean and welcoming. All the staff is excellent and also friendly. I frequent this establishment often, not knowing what I'm going to order until I'm inside. Sometimes I get a rotisserie chicken meal. Sometimes I get "create your own pasta", or sometimes I get both.

A million and one things to choose from, all halal, quick and friendly service, huge portions, reasonable prices, casual spot with lots of seating and bathroom are all things that make a fantastic spot that will have me coming back time and time again. While the mac and cheese was just OKAY, the portion was generous for a side and well, it was enjoyable enough that I ate the entire plate even though it wasn't the most flavorful. The spicy buttermilk chicken jalapeño waffle sandwich (phew a mouthful) was indeed a mouthful of lots of flavor and again A GENEROUS GENEROUS portion. You could easily it both alone or share with a friend and share a side. Or you can be me and eat all of it on your own. The chicken actually had a kick to it that I think was a combination of their spicy green sauce and the sauce the chicken was doused in. Very flavorful and big chunks of white meat. I will 100% be back to eat through the rest of the menu and bring friends! For sure an awesome spot to bring a group.

Flamming Grill offers one of the best medium-priced chicken meals in Astoria. I had read about this fast food on FB and through other media, and as I was in the area, I decided to try them, AND I was pleasantly surprised. The owner gave me time to make up my mind. I wanted to eat quarter chicken portions, so I ended up ordering a waffle chicken sandwich, which was delicious. I also took some food home with me, including a beverage. Will I be back? Yes!!

This place is awesome and deserves all of the business! They have a large variety of options and they're all excellent. The roasted chicken is so juicy and tender it falls right off the bone. They make every order of fries fresh so they're never sitting out getting soggy. Same thing is true for all of their different salads. The workers are extremely kind and dutiful. My partner paid for a Coke at checkout and someone behind the counter ran over to the refrigerator to get it for us, so nice! They gave us free banana bread to try at checkout and it was excellent! The chicken noodle soup was also extremely tasty and the perfect treat on a cold day. Best of all, their prices are excellent. For an entire half chicken and 2 sides it's only $12!! Give this place a try it will become your new go-to.

The two things that plague this place from being all it can be really boils down to two things:…read moreservice and food. Most places can get by with at least one of the two but when both are faltering, then it's a tough sell overall. The remaining two stars are for the speedy delivery and relatively solid prices. Unfortunately that's about as good as it gets. This location has been around for a good minute and yet they've somehow fallen behind their sister location in Sunnyside (#1), which isn't all that great to begin with either. There are places to sit here, but it's primarily a takeout / delivery spot. I'm not sure where to start with the food. The chicken is supposed to be the star of the show, with a bunch of birds all lined up at the window slowly being cooked to woo the crowd. While the chicken has a nice char to the skin, the rest of it is incredibly bland. I've been dousing it in the house salsa every time and somehow that's still not enough. The sides are extremely mediocre. Mac and cheese is watery, almost like a bad version of boxed mac. The mashed potatoes are similar, as is the orzo salad, potato salad, and veggies. On a happier note, the rice is the best option of the bunch, but my apprehension to try other items is unlikely to change. Lastly, the service has been tough. Some days it's rude phone manners, others it's 'tude from the counter. Most of the staff is bilingual, as Spanish is super useful in this hood. They are quick to get orders out though, so that's one minor saving grace but the rest of their offerings may be worth holding off for awhile. _____________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-original-american-chicken-ii-sunnyside

I am always a fan of these hyper specialist places because I figure if you only sell one dish it must be really good. The chicken is tender yet light on flavor, so the included sauces (one soy based and one chili sauce) are a must. However the rice was delicious and fragrant, a complementary pairing to the chicken. They also included some chicken gizzards and liver if you are a fan of those, but for me I could do with or without. Overall a solid place and worth a repeat visit in my book.

They serve one thing, Hainanese chicken sets with liver and gizzard, ginger fried, and a side of radish soup. The rice and the tender chicken tastes super clean and even the gizzard and liver is not covered in any unnecessary sauces. That being said, they do have some sauces on the side for you to add more flavor to your food if you are looking for more flavors or spice. The radish soup tastes so nourishing and it tastes like you're eating at home and not at a restaurant. Definitely a place that you must check out if you're looking for something that is filling but still what to have a nice lightness after your meal.
