Food was so good and fresh and the customer service was 10/10! Definitely recommend coming here!

Chicken Shawarma Plate

Was wondering what restaurant replaced the long-lived googley eyed Magic Dragon and was excited to see it was a place I could get shawarma. We ordered the Arabic Gyro and Chicken Shawarma Plate to go. The service was fast and friendly and there was a place to sit while they put our order together. The gyro was delicious and prepared perfectly- sometimes you get those loose gyros that are ready to drop the goods but not here. I went with the chicken shawarma plate because it's what it get most of the time- similar to another of my favorite spots (Bananas Grill) the rice here is soft and flavorful and the chicken has great flavor. I think next time I'll try the Arabic Chicken Shawarma sandwich and I really need to check out their falafel.

Chicken & Lamb & Beef Gyro Sandwiches

Delicious gyros at reasonable prices at this new south end spot. My co-worker had the chicken gyro and i had the lamb & beef gyro. A good proportion of meat to vegetables ratio served on a warm pita. It was a tasty and filling sandwich. I look forward to coming back to try other items on the menu.

Decided to check this new spot out after hearing about it from a neighbor. Pros: portion sizes are generous, they make everything fresh to order and don't skimp on any ingredients. Cons: the gyro meat is fine but not my favorite. The fries were not as crispy as I would've liked. Gyro plate: rice has good seasoning. Large pile of tzatziki sauce, includes a pita on the side. Arabic gyro: a couple bucks more than the regular gyro, but it is huge!! I personally prefer a pita wrap to the tortilla style wrap on this, but the amount of food you get is epic. Gyro fries: loaded with cheese and sauce. The fries were crispy when they first came out but quickly cooled down and got kind of soggy. Maybe could've used a bit more time in the fryer? Tastes like frozen fries but for the price I'm not complaining, very flavorful and you get a ton for $6. Also looks like they transitioned from crinkle fries based on old photos. Dolmas - no complaints, maybe could be under $6 though. TL:DR: solid spot for gyros in the area and will be coming back, looking forward to trying their regular gyro sandwich next time.

This place is great. The food is delicious, the portions are large, and when I asked for a special something that wasn't quite on the menu they created a plate for me with the items I asked for. So, terrific service too. Prices are reasonable as well. Yay! It has tables but not really a place I'd wanna eat at. Small and brightly lit. Noisy with the kitchen right there. We always take the food home.

Greek fries

Review based solely on their Greek fries and the chill dude working front and back of house. I ordered the fries extra crispy, which I recommend for any sort of loaded fries but anyways yall, these HIT the spot! Overloaded with a mellow garlic sauce, feta cheese, parsley, and a beautiful sprinkling of sumac! Side of hot sauce which was unique from the normal Sambal style chili sauce you find at most gyro spots! I came across this cause I was randomly craving Magic Dragon, which used to be here. I didn't even realize they had closed and was bummed for a sec but this place was good and I'll definitely be back to try their gyros/shawarma/sides!

Crispy, made-to-order falafel.

Who needs Disneyland when you can go to Shawarma Land?!!! It's a party for your taste buds. I had the arabic style gyro sandwich and a side order of falafel. Perfect balance of meat and veg in the sandwich. Falafel could've used maybe another minute in the fryer (it was a little cold in the middle still) but it was crispy and flavorful. That's a minor quibble though. Overall a great meal that made me happy. Service is friendly. Support a small business and reward your stomach at the same time. It's a win-win situation.

Clean, priced affordably and super star staff. Kind people and quick. Would definitely come back.

Beef lamb shawarma plate

This is a new place that recently opened. 2 guys were working when I went in and they were very welcoming and friendly. It is a nice clean spot. They have a few tables and chairs. I ordered the beef/lamb shawarma plate which came with humus salad and pita bread. You could barely taste the lamb in the mix and I think it needed a bit more flavor compared to some other places. I would give them another try as I'm sure they will get better as they settle in. I also got the baklava which was really good! I would definitely get that again !

Arabic Gyro

After a 4+ mile walk, I didn't feel like standing in the kitchen to make dinner. I had seen multiple posts on social media raving about Shawarma Land since it was new to the area, and wanted to try it. I ordered the Arabic Gyro online. They were just finishing it as I arrived to pick it up. The space is bright and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and communicative. THE FLAVORS, though! Outstanding!! I couldn't even finish one half, the portion was so generous. Hot tip: they offer a discount if you pay in cash.

Baklava

Sooo good honestly the best I've tried so far so good. Owner was very nice and welcoming. Baklava was also so good!

I got a gyro plate and sandwich and it was so good and I can taste a lot of the spices, beef and lamb was soft, veggies were refreshing. Staff was friendly. Seating is really tight and small.

Just did a visit to Lola for their Seattle Restaurant Week dinner, and at $50 per person, I think…read morethis is one of the better deals out there. The amount of food was insane even our server said it was a lot of food! The first course alone could have been a meal. Pita bread with six different spreads just look at the picture! I expected maybe three or four. They explained everything, and I retained almost none of it. All I know is that everything tasted really good! This also came with a very generous portion of Greek salad. That was just round one. Next came the salmon and chicken kebabs, with generous chunks of protein served sizzling. They poured liquid over them at the table to make them sizzle even more, which was a neat touch. Both were very good, and the caramelized onions were great. The spreads from the first course also made excellent toppers for the salmon and chicken. By the third course, we were already getting full, but out came the leg of lamb. I had pictured us having to tackle something bone-in, so I appreciated that it arrived nicely sliced. Tender, cooked perfectly, and very little fat. It came with generous portions of small, partly mashed potatoes and some really good greens. I'm not entirely sure what the greens were, but we enjoyed them! For the fourth course, we chose a blackberry ginger sorbet that wasn't listed on the menu. I also ordered a Prosecco to enjoy with dinner. We ended up taking home three boxes because there was simply no way we could finish everything. Such an amazing Seattle Restaurant Week deal! Service was fantastic, and the pacing was nice. My friend and I stayed a little afterward to chat, and we never felt rushed, even though the restaurant was very busy. Great ambiance and a really enjoyable evening. I'll definitely be back to try their brunch!

Unfortunately, on arriving, there was a mix-up and we had to wait 20-25 mins to get our table. We were a large party (10 people) but still, it was quite a long wait. The manager offered us some free wine and apologized for making us wait. We did enjoy the rest of the night with the huge ensemble of meals and drinks Lola had to offer. Our servers were also extremely nice and polite and quite accommodating to our big dinner party. I really liked the ambience of the restaurant: dimly lit, elegant and cozy with an open kitchen towards the back side. Ordered a lot of different items amongst all of us: Mushroom Skewers (was quite tasty) Saganaki (not a big fan of this.. I didn't like the sweet and cheese together) grilled octopus (I am not a big fan of octopus, but tried what my colleague ordered, and I quite liked it) Doughnuts with mascarpone and Jam (star of the night) Coconut cream pie (also amazing) There was another dessert, I don't recall the name of it but it was peach with chocolate mascarpone (didn't like this one as much as the other two) Overall, had a great time at Lola despite the wait time hiccup, the service, food, ambience were top-notch!

My friend and I went to Homer with the haphazard plan of doing double dinner -- aka Homer for small bites + cocktails at 5 pm followed by dinner reservations elsewhere at 8:30 pm. Was this foolish? Oh yes, absolutely; but was it a delicious evening? Also yes. We were here on a Saturday night so tried to arrive a bit early to line up and lord have mercy because...there was a healthy line of ~25-30 people ahead of us at 4:45 pm. We were sweating bullets that we wouldn't make the first seating, but a few of the larger groups ahead of us gave up given the wait times and we were able to grab a table for 2! The interior is inviting, cozy, and can fit a decent amt of people without feeling too crowded. Drinks wise, we got the gt & t (green tea gin, lemongrass tonic, lime) and the snap pea margarita -- both of which were good, but not great. We really tried to restrain ourselves food wise given the 8:30 pm dinner reservations but gosh it was HARD. We got the set of 3 spreads, the summer tomatoes with black garlic, and the summer melon & caramelized halloumi. Good lord the spreads were SO good with our fave being the summer squash and cashew dip with red chili oil and sesame. The tomatoes were delicious too but the unexpected star for us was the summer melon & halloumi! Such a good play on salty, sweet, tangy -- would 100% get it again and...I don't even like melon very much LOL We didn't finish all of the above so we would have stomach space for our next spot but it was difficult to stop ourselves for sure. Given how hyper-seasonal the menu is, I am totally and absolutely ready to go back and try other items! Prices are definitely fair for quality, taste, and the exemplary service we received.

I'd recommend getting there early and explored the neighborhood while you wait. The restaurant was a bit loud so it's a little hard to chat with big group. We chose the Family Feast option, which came with 3 course of food, desserts. This option is fantastic for big group to share, as well as to try different menu items without having to choose. They brought out a lot of food for each course, and pack up whatever we didn't finish for us to take home. Since their menu changes often, it was a great experience for both first-timers and guests who have been before, to try seasonal menu items. Our first course consisted of 3 dips, grilled medjool dates, anchovies with sourdough, and unlimited pita bread. All of the dips were delicious, and the grilled medjool dates were one of my favorites of the meal. Our second course were summer tomatoes, shaved kohlrabi, and grilled little gems salad with nectarines, and dill emulsion dressing. All of them were so refreshing, and the flavors were on point. The summer tomatoes were sweet. We were already pretty full at this point. Our third course were roasted chicken with chili-fruit paste, and grilled pork with rainier cherry. The chicken was super tender, the chili-fruit paste was not spicy, just the right amount of sweet and spicy. The grilled pork was tender and sweet, it was definitely one of my favorites. Desserts were ice cream and warm cookie with sweet cream. It was absolutely tasty and a great end to the meal. Our server was very attentive and nice. We didn't feel rushed during our time dining here. Overall, the restaurant was super worth the long wait, and I love all the dishes I tried that day.

Super friendly, welcoming, and the kind of people who make you feel like you've been there before even when it's your first time. We didn't actually come hungry enough for a full meal, which I immediately regretted after looking around. The lentil soup is definitely happening next time, and then I saw the Beyti Kebab coming out of the kitchen... yeah, that basically settled it. So somehow we came in for Turkish coffee and tea and left planning an entire meal for our next visit. I haven't even tried the food yet and Cafe Turko already got me making dinner plans. Appetizer portions are very small for the price (especially the dolmas) and the portions in general are very inconsistent (some items have huge portions for the price and some like the family platter we expected to be bigger). The pasta with yoghurt is not very flavorful I would skip and opt for another hummus instead. Presentation of the food is beautiful and the service is amazing, prompt and the servers do a great job so make sure to tip well. Desserts are not worth the price. The ambiance is great and feels authentic to turkey. Parking is street parking and can be difficult to find at dinner time so I would come early. Overall great place for a group or 3-5, I wouldn't reccomend this for a larger group.

Which was part of the reason I visited a few weeks ago. I actually have been wanting to try Yalla for awhile, and just recently figured where it was located. A bit out of my way from work and home, but the day I decided to go was perfect. I was meeting friends at Sake Nomi which doesn't serve food so you're allowed to bring some in. I had two hours to waste so it gave me plenty of time to get up to Capitol Hill and back to Pioneer Square. Yalla is a walk up window with a bench outside to sit but I imagine most people take the food to go. I was sharing the food with five other people so the three mezze dips was the perfect option, I also added the special dip of the day that had 100% proceeds going to help those in Nepal. I also added one of the pressed Saj, the grilled Kefta a lot easier to share. One of my friends wanted the Lamb wrap so that was included in the order as well. Love how fresh the ingredients were. Each dip had distinctively different flavors and textures. Saj was included two different ways to enjoy with the mezze in its soft flatbread form and as a cracker perfect for dipping. My favorites were the Muhummara and the Nuraniye (Zuchinni Dip). I liked the tanginess of the Muhummara and the fresh lemon forward of the Nuraniye. The Kefta was delicious, I need to carry a knife for situations like this when sharing food we ended up ripping off pieces this came with Labneh. I definitely want to try a wrap next time and well their toum sauce. Service was friendly and helpful when I was explaining there was a group of us sharing the items.

The signature saj bread is cooked fresh on a hot stone and is almost like a Middle Eastern flour tortilla with the way it's super thin and satisfyingly chewy bite. The only seating options are a few large benches on the sidewalk, but there's a poster saying you're welcome to sit at the neighboring bar which opens in the late afternoon provided you purchase a drink as well. Ended up sampling 3 of their wrap options and the Zaatar Wrap was deliciously nutty and fragrant, but texturally there was so many herbs that the center ate a little dry. The Lahme Khuruf (Lamb) was my favorite by far with super juicy ground meat with some tang from the labneh, sweetness, freshness from the tomato, and texture from the pine nuts. Absolute home run on this one! The Awarma and Cheese was a close second, but personally, the flavor profile was just a little less interesting than the lamb. Tip: grab some extra napkins as the wraps can fall apart a bit at the end!
