I like Shawarma King. I stop in once a week or so for lunch, and I've always found the food to be tasty and fresh. I am not sure about the comments saying the food looks old -- that hasn't been my experience. I usually have the falafel wrap, but the borek, pirozhki, and khachapuri are great too. I have tried many places that offer Shawarma and they have all be pretty decent up to this point. When I was scrolling down on Eat24 and saw that a Shawarma place delivers and the fee was pretty reasonable for this type of food I just had to try it out because I love shawarma This was by far the worst mistake I have ever done and let me explain why: 1. The driver does not follow detailed instructions. When I mean detailed I mean extremely detailed. This was my instructions. "Dial (gate code) take the elevator. 2nd floor. The first unit in front of you" Take a guess in what the driver did. He did the first, He didn't do the last part. This guy literally went around the WHOLE building I live in and literally took 10 mins to finally come to my unit. Why is this a problem? well think about the food is cold once it comes out so you want to make sure it stays warm as possible. Taking an extra 10 mins to find the unit after given detailed instructions is really upsetting because hence food gets cold longer it takes to get to your table and eat it. Also to point out that the delivery was late too. 2. Shawarma meat - This is one of the nastiest Shawarma sandwiches I have ever eaten in my life. This is the restaurant description of there sandwich " Fresh meat marinated in spices, with tomatoes, lettuce, cilantro, onion, and our special king sauce" They did get something right because the sauce they use is really interesting because it has a curry taste to it and the meat was not marinated at all it was so dry when I took a bite out of it. My suggestion is to take out that special sauce and either add Garlic sauce or make your own Tahini sauce. That sauce/seasoning was just nasty and did not go well at all. 3 Price - How do you justify charging 7.99 for a sandwich and put so little meat inside of it? Reduce the price or add more meat or add more ingredients to the sandwich or have the customer customize is and charge them an extra 1.00 for extra meat or sauce or etc... but that price is way too much for what you get, and the same thing goes for the shawarma plate because I ordered a plate also and the little amount of meat that comes with is not worth the price. Oh, btw you have to pay extra for it to be beef which is ridiculous. 4 Instructions - This is literally the reason this place deserves a two-star rating. I ordered my shawarma sandwich with no tomatoes and take a guess what I found inside when I looked? Yup, you guessed right. TOMATOES! Is it really that hard to follow CUSTOMER instructions? I mean seriously it's not hard. In Conclusion, I probably will never order from here again and I don't recommend this place to anyone that wants Shawarma. read more

You guys. This place is not good. I am very sorry to have to leave this review because I want to support mom and pop restaurants but my experience here was so bad I felt it my civic duty to share. First of all the people who work here are indeed very nice. But the food was old and looked like it had been sitting there for some time. I tried to order the lavash wrap and lentil soup and was told they were unavailable. Okay... so I ordered the chicken shawarma combo with fries. The food you get looks nothing like the pictures on the menu. The chicken, oh my god the chicken was so terrible that when I got home I just threw it away. It was dry and covered in a "special sauce" that looked like mayo. The fries were old and overly salty. Don't be fooled by the overall 4 star rating. I think there is some gaming of the system going on. If you look at the more critical reviews you'll see we are all saying the same thing: terrible special sauce, old food, bad food preparation techniques. I am never coming back here again. I thought this bread, Khachapuri would be tasted like a French bread or some sort of bread you can get in Walmart. However, its texture was totally different. It's soft and chewy. Ordered two Shawarma Wraps, one chicken on beef for delivery. When I received the order, the wraps were falling apart and they were super oily/greasy. To top it all off, the meat was super hard, to the point that I thought I was biting into a bone (not an exaggeration), but it was actually the beef. This place is superb! I highly recommend it to people who loves Mediterranean food. I ordered the Lule Combo and Lahmajun...and it did not disappoint me. Chicken and beef lule are both delicious. Lahmajun is so good,too. Spiced right...they give you a big serving and their prices are very reasonable. I will definitely come back. And they're open until 3am.
