Found this as a recommendation from our dive master. Locals and tourists will enjoy- no frills but nice ambiance, live music was excellent, food was not fancy but very good with great healthy options, excellent fish tacos, quinoa bowls were good, pies were all good. Great for kids or adults with a good number of options on the menu. Waterfront on a canal, quiet, friendly local lizards visited us at the table! We didn't try drinks but they had a full list of fancy and simple drinks. Definitely a good reasonably priced place to enjoy dinner! read more

Food was good. Service was not great. From the host who was distracted and on the phone when we arrived and just sent us in a general direction. We waited 10 minutes to get offered a drink. I was about to leave but decided to wait it out. I knew we should have left but didn't. The waitress took our drink order and was helpful getting food ordered. Drinks came quickly. Then I tried to order another beer and asked for the list which was on a whiteboard the waitress had to find and bring over to the table. It was half wiped out from use I guess. Ordered a taster of a a red ale which came quickly. Then food arrived, appetizers and mains at the same time. Took the time to eat both the courses at once and still didn't get any choice of drink after the taster... when we were done eating the waitress came by to offer drinks or more food. No thanks. Check please. The food was good but the service was dismal. Poor waitress was working hard but clearly understaffed and not much help from others hanging around. It was Monday after Easter Sunday so I would expect there's an assumption of somewhat busy time. I'm sure at times would be great but just not when I was there. read more

We are tourists from Alaska, enjoying 2 weeks in Florida. We stayed in the Keys and came here for breakfast. Our omelette was a little greasy, but yummy and the service was great. Like most places here, it could use a facelift. But overall we enjoyed our meal. read more

Best American-style breakfast in Key Largo! My order was very simple, eggs and toast, but it was surprisingly tasty and not dried out. My guest order a larger breakfast and had no complaints. I wish they had the machine to make fresh squeezed orange juice but it wasn't a deal breaker. I love the price! Because it's a local's spot, the owner makes it a point to keep prices low - stated by the kind waitress. I do appreciate an affordable breakfast. I was staying at a hotel exactly across the intercostal from the restaurant and saw that the night scene is very lively with locals and live entertainment. It was entertaining to watch and dance from my balcony. They also have dive/snorkeling tours that dock outside their restaurant if you choose to eat before/after a trip. The restaurant has nice views to the intercostal. read more

My husband and I have been coming to the Keys for years, and no trip is complete without a visit to Sharkey's. We have had breakfast, lunch, and late night snacks there. We have had some of our very best meals at Sharkey's. The food is absolutely delicious and always cooked perfectly. The service is always great. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Came here as we needed a place to eat and Mrs. Macs is unfortunately closed on Sunday's. The Yelp reviews were a solid 4 stars with over 300 reviews. Well first it is hard to find the sign does not clearly mark this place so I assumed it was out of business as their last review was not too recent. Once we did finally find it we parked in a lot adjacent to the property. We arrived and there was only one other table with customers outside. So I peeked in the sliding glass doors to see a lone bartender with customers at the bar. I asked if it was ok if we sat outside and helped myself to some menus. Soon after a waitress appeared to take our drink order. She suggested Key Lime Colada was delicious, however I detected after ordering a second one that their was little to no alcohol. Believe me I would know as I consider myself a non drinker so when I do drink it hits me quick. My husband intelligently ordered a bottled Bud. You can't screw it up. We had fried mushrooms as an appetizer served with horseradish sauce it was good. For our entree I had grilled fish taco. Served in a soft tortilla that gets soggy quickly. I picked the fish out instead. My husband the steak taco. The portions were large but I didn't take home mine due to the sogginess. I racked my brain why anyway would give this place a four since it was rough around thr edges. From the mildewed tarp covering and the broken string lights outside. If the outside looks like this than what about the kitchen? This is simple maintenance and cleaning needed on managements part. As for me I won't be back. read more

Remember your college days? Here you go! The place smells of stale beer. It's not so stale, however, it coats the floor in a nice wet mess. The bathroom smell is so foul you can't walk in, and the bathroom floor is coated in urine. They do have live bands and everyone is friendly enough, I just think I'm over those days. We came down from Miami for a one night getaway and stumbled into Sharkey's. The lunch was quiet, wish they had some music. We ordered hibiscus beer (soo good), cocktails, blackened fish tacos and the buffalo chicken dip. I highly recommend the tacos and the dip! When you order the tacos ask for light lettuce in my opinion. The tortillas are home made and so delicious. We liked it so much we went back on the same day for dinner. It was Wednesday night and they had a live band from 6-10pm. Staff is always nice and helpful. Highly recommend for dining on the water with causal typical Keys vibes. read more

I wasn't overly impressed. We decided to try a new place for date night and ended up here. The menus we were given had a mysterious sticky substance on one side... We started out with the smoked fish dip. It was pretty tasty. I hate how with many fish dips you get individually packaged crackers. What a waste of plastic and materials. We shared the fried captains platter. The fish and shrimp were good. The scallops were very underwhelming. We left some behind. They also serve their drinks, sauces, and cole slaw in plastic disposable cups. I'm so tired of seeing single use items served at restaurants. Such a waste and we need to do better about reducing single use products. Our server was friendly and the coconut bomb cake was also pretty good. The bathrooms could've used a good once over. We came. We tried it. We probably won't return with all the other options in Key Largo. read more

Sharkey's was a total surprise to end our vacation. It was recommended by the first mate on our snorkeling trip, plus the reviews were great so we decided to check it out. I am so glad we did. Our server Shane was amazing and really made our night. Make no mistake, the food was delicious but it was so much more enjoyable to have a server who was such a joy to be around. We had the fish dip appetizer (which was amazing!), fish tacos, grouper special, wings and chicken quesadilla. A very cool and affordable option in key largo! We loved the restaurant setup and our waitress was nice. We ordered the platter and she told us it was "huge" and suggested we move to a bigger table, and seemed shocked we wanted tacos too lol. All of the food was good except the conch fritters, which were chewy. Definitely recommend the fish tacos! read more

First thing. The entrance to the second floor is a bit weird. But Hannah M made the experience a whole lot better. I've never made a review before but I for sure had to leave one just for her service. We had three kids with us and she knew how to occupy them when she came around. The entrance to the place is a bit weird...there is a downstairs, upstairs outdoor and indoors and we walked around a bit before we were sure where to sit. We went there for lunch and shared a coconut shrimp and it was pretty good along with the mango sauce on the side. Great local dive bar below Rainbow Reef snorkeling and diving. Good for sandwiches and cold cocktails/beers. Just a laid back local dive. You can sit outside and watch the boats come in. Relaxed and enjoyed my visit. read more

It hurts me to write this review but it must be done. Let's just say our group was far from pleased with our experience at Sharkey's this past weekend while in the Keys. A select few of us visit Sharkey's many times throughout the year which made this experience that much more disappointing since we've always looked forward to our nights here. Our party of 12 was seated rather quickly only to be left out to dry for at least 10 minutes. And by that I mean not a single person stopping by the table despite several employees walking past and their computer to put orders in being directly beside our table. Finally our server greets us, we ask for a round of waters and before we can put in alcoholic drink orders she leaves the table.... 20 minutes go by still no drinks, not even the waters we asked for. We had to get up and go to the bar to order our drinks and no one working seemed to think anything was wrong with this!! Oh and we still never got the waters until AFTER we got our food and asked a different employee for them! Now for the icing on the cake... getting our food. Ordering wasn't an issue, having it delivered to us and figuring who had what, OMG! One employee that was bringing the food out was hard to understand due to a thick accent and after politely asking him to repeat what he was saying & what food he had in his hand he replies with "What don't you all speak English?!" We were shocked by his attitude. Not to mention the band was directly behind us playing in our ear! Then two people in our party were given each other's food without knowing (and being told they had the right food) and when the server brought the last persons food out that wasn't hers, she looks at my friend and says "open up the taco, let me see it! You're eating her food. It's not my fault." The attitude of these servers/employees was very poor. They seemed bothered when asked for anything and our server specifically did the bare minimum. The service ruined this experience for me which is a shame because I've always enjoyed coming here. I'll never sit down to eat here again. I must say not every aspect of this place is bad which is the reason for the 2 star review. Positives: the inside bar/pool table, located on a canal, live music, food is good and tastes great actually, good portion sizes, suitable for large parties, outside covered seating, more of a "local" feel read more
