Will always be my go to milk tea place. Parking there is always convenient as people are constantly coming and leaving. The cashiers are nice and the workflow is quick. Often no lines and the drinks come out quickly. The teas always have a good heavy flavor to them. I recommend getting at most 50% sweetness or else it will be too sweet. The place is also fairly clean and a good area to settle down and study. When the weather is nice, there are tables to sit outside and hangout with friends! read more

How hard is it to follow a simple order? In this case it was a milk tea (black tea) with red beans and pearls. We even discussed the (black) pearls they used with the guy taking the order. My wife and I get our two drinks and they were both barely warm. No problem - I'll take it home and heat it up. My drink also tasted awfully sugary, even though I asked for 50%. NP, I'll brew some black tea and add a bit at home. Then we get home and find that- surprise- no pearls. Strike 3. Total fail for 2 drinks totaling $12 (inc tax). So far this place has been a hit or miss where some days drinks are just good and some days it taste diluted. Pros: Passion Fruit Tea: This is one of their better fruity teas since it has a slightly tart and sour taste. Crema Drinks: Sharetea in particular are really generous with their sea salt foam which they do a great job in making. They also have a small plastic knife so you can cut the sealed plastic cap for those that drink their milk foam first. Cons Milk Teas: I've tried the classic milk tea, Hokkaido milk tea, and Okinawa milk tea at this location and each of them tasted horrible since I do enjoy the milk teas at the San Mateo locations. I've gone here a lot of times and it is always consistent. The drinks that I usually choose from are: Creama Tea (Oolong), Matcha Green Tea Creama, Taro Milk Tea and Ice Cream Black Tea. The Ice Cream Black Tea is great for when the weather is nice! The reason I come to this location is because they have the topping Taro QQ. I love it and would highly recommend it to those who like chewy toppings. It doesn't have a strong taro flavor so I would try it even if you might not like taro that much. But I would say that their boba/pearl is only decent. Downside of the place is that it is small and doesn't have many seats in which you can just go to hang out with your friends. read more

Sharing boba? Now that's tough, but getting boba from Sharetea? No brainer! Sharetea is a pretty solid place to satisfy your boba fix. Located in a plaza right next to the ever-so-popular Gen Korean BBQ, the tiny parking lot will make any driver groan in exasperation. (Seriously, is it a criteria for boba places to have the worst parking ever?) But once you fit your car into that compact stall and walk inside, you'll be greeted by a clean, white establishment with large flat screen menus hanging overhead and canvases of their feature drinks upon their walls. Sharetea offers a variety of milk teas like Hokkaido, Okinawa, and oolong, as well as fruit teas and smoothies. Normally, I go for the green milk tea with pudding, and nine out of ten times they make it perfectly; however, there are some moments when the flavor of tea is drowned out by the over-abundance of milk. I also have tried many of their fruit drinks like Hawaiian fruit tea, a combination of grapefruit, pineapple, and orange tea, as well as their passion fruit tea with yakult and peach green tea. Their fruit teas are SUPER refreshing, especially on a hot summer day. I can't say Sharetea is the best of the best, but it definitely earns its spot as ONE OF THE BEST. Prices are just a tiny bit more expensive than other places and their five stars reward system is the worst I have encountered by far (a free drink after 12 purchases), but that doesn't stop a bunch of boba lovers from stopping by. I don't know what happen to thins places for the last few month drinks have not been to good here. Last night I came here and the honey milk tea I order taste like water and the pearls I where not good at all they had something in it like a hair cause I felt it break apart from the pearls when I was chewing them, I immediately spit them out couldn't really look though the pearls cause I walk there with my son and it was dark out. The other times I've came here in the last few months drinks just ain't good, it's like as soon as you take you first drink you know it's not good. Hell yes! A Sharetea that 's 10 minute drive from where I live? YAAAAAAAS! NO MINIMUM CREDIT CARD CHARGE? YAAAAAS! It's pretty spacious for a little boba shop than a particular neighbor - tables and chairs inside that's against the wall and there are some tables and chairs outside too. They were having a Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal last week that I didn't get to do since the wait time was like freaking 45 minutes. Aarize don't got time for that! But regardless, I have tried their Green Tea with Ice Cream.. it was alright, the Matcha Red Bean Milk Tea is delicious.. but oh my gawdddd.... MATCHA GREEN TEA CREAMA with balls in my mouth.... I'm truly, madly, deeply in love with it. I love my balls you know? The line isn't that long here since I went when it was during the afternoon so I only waited for about 15 minutes. I like their cashier because they're really nice and polite. The workers here really do take their time to measure out everything for each drink, which is why i can see how customers can get impatient. Similar to how you order at other tea places like Gong Cha, you get to pick your ice level and sweetness. Anyways, yesterday, was the second time I tried this place and once again, I am disappointed. I heard so many great things about Sharetea (in San Mateo) and was super excited when this place opened. Anyways, I haven't tried the location in San Mateo; but hopefully, it taste a lot better than the one located here!! I ordered an Oolong Tea Crema with pudding with 50 percent sweet and 50 percent ice. The foam tastes weird and salty and the tea tastes like it's mixed with powder or something. Do they even use powder? I'm not sure, but it sure tastes like small chucks of powder in my tea. I took a few sips and just tossed it. Service wasn't too great either. The first time, they weren't so helpful when answering my questions and the second time, the cashier had a hard time understanding what i want. They don't try to talk to you and just focus on taking your order. Sometimes I feel like I am bothering them when I have a question to ask. Overall, I don't think I will be returning to this place. I would much rather just go a block or to Gong Cha for much better tasting tea. read more

I came here with very very low expectations, but this tea place was surprisingly decent. After my experience with Tea Station, I tried to avoid places where you can customize your drink's sweetness level. I probably wouldn't have gone if I knew Sharetea does this. Scared on which sweetness level to get, I chose 30% which is just right. I was really happy that I didn't go to anywhere higher than that, otherwise It would have gone straight to the trash. I got the regular milk tea with Matcha creama and pearls, and I wasn't too impressed. I didn't taste the green tea too much, but I enjoyed the creaminess of it (maybe I ordered it wrong?-- any suggestions). You can't really taste the tea sometimes, because of too much cream. So if you're a Milk Tea snob who needs to have a good 50-50 ratio of cream and tea, this place is not for you. I ordered it the simplest way I can, so I can compare it to other places I've been to. It's nothing that I can't get from 85C or CafeLattea in Cupertino, or even Quickly. The pearls were chewy and sweet, which I like. The wait wasn't too bad when I came around 9PM. It took them about 10 minutes to make our drinks which was okay. The place was small with very limited seats. It didn't help that it was raining outside, so everyone waiting for their drinks were all in the store which made the tiny wait area crowded. There were outside seats, so I guess it wouldn't be too bad when the weather gets better. Overall, my experience here was okay. It helped that I came here without having high expectations. I live about 30 minutes away from Sharetea. I would go if I'm in the area, but I don't think I would drive this far just for pearl milk tea. Sharetea is a cute name, but let's be honest, I don't share my milk tea. Parking in this plaza was no problem. I liked how their was a nice seating area outside and some small tables inside for seating as well. The cashiers here were very friendly and helpful when I asked what "crema" was because I had no idea! I forgot the milk tea that was recommended to me, but it was a crema and it was wonderful! My friend made his own tea and it turned out okay... I thought it was weird, but he liked it so that's what matters. I like that they hand out a number for your order. I love when establishments have an orderly way of handling their business. I also liked how they had a "Top 10" drinks so that helps narrow down the decision a bit more. Sharetea is a little out of my way, but it was one of the better milk tea places I've tried so I'm glad I stopped by. read more

When it comes to boba, I like to be adventurous and try something new every time. Before I had a chance to really peruse the menu, I was immediately intrigued with a sign by the cash register of Sharetea's cereal tea slushes. I must've been out of the boba game for a while, because I've never seen anything so creative! I asked the cashier what his personal favorite flavor was. He advised that the Taro Tea Slush with fruit cereal was the best one, so I went with it. Before he put in the order, I noticed another sign next to the cashier register of slushes with clear looking pearls. The cashier said that those clear pearl looking things were actually taro balls that have a texture very similar to mochi, and he suggested that I try them in the slush rather than with the pearls. I'm already going balls to the wall here (no pun intended), so might as well right? By then I must've been a pain in the ass after asking a million questions, but the cashier was extremely patient with me during my entire order. I appreciated that. The taro slush was really good! Good thing I didn't add more sweetness to the drink, because it was sweet already as is. Furthermore, I don't think I will ever order pearls again. Taro balls are way better than tapioca pearls. Can't say that I have ever seen taro balls anywhere else but Sharetea, so it's probably the only place I'll have to go now at this point! The only thing I didn't like about this particular drink was that the fruit loops were in whole pieces (not in bits like it was in the picture). Obviously they were too big to go up the straw when you're sipping on the drink. Bummer. More work for me to scoop them out with a spoon. But I guess it ended up being worth it, because the flavor of the fruit loops complimented the drink so well. read more

The staff here was rude and even if they were nice, their drinks would still bring me back to 1 star. SERVICE: I asked if they would recommend any specific one off their top ten and some girl who was standing their talking to her coworker turned to me and was like "that's what the top 10 drinks list is for" and continued to talk to her coworker. UHM I KNOW THAT that's why I said specific one OFF OF THAT LIST. Whoever made the drinks also filled the cup so full that when I put in the straw, it was waterfalling out like crazy. I've seen people who spill their drinks just because they don't know how to stick a boba straw in a sealed drink, but this was not the case, I know how to stick straws in boba drinks and this cup was just way too full. DRINKS: I went with the Hokkaido caramel toffee milk tea w/ egg pudding & pearls, and the mango green tea creama. Creama was not comparable to gong cha at all! Just go across the street to get real creama. This one did not blend in with the tea at all. The Hokkaido caramel was worst, the entire tea and the egg pudding tasted chemically/soapy. No caramel toffee flavor nor any tea flavor whatsoever not even a bit. I tried really hard to take a second sip, but after that I was done trying. The parking here is awful, so try to park in the 99 ranch plaza (next driveway over) and just walk because there's about 7 spaces total for the 3-4 businesses where Sharetea is ... and nobody can park in the lines. Came here on a Friday afternoon. Ordered a matcha red bean. Drink came out in 15 mins. I saw a lady who seemed extremely pissed and complaining at the counter while waiting for my drink. I thought to myself..wow she must be a b*$#()*$..how bad can a milk tea drink be?? Welp, it turns out that lady had her right to be pissed. I was extremely disappointed with my drink. I could taste chunks of unblended ice in my watered down drink. It lacked match powder , and whoever made my drink DID NOT KNOW HOW TO USE THE BLENDER. After having Sharetea in both San Mateo & SF, I was super excited that this one was opening up in SJ! I decided to try something new: taro fresh milk. So far with Sharetea, I've had an equal number of hits and misses, and this was a definite miss. I was expecting a chilled version of taro milk tea w/ real taro pieces, so I asked for less ice. No can do--apparently they have to blend ice into it. I have to admit, the first minute or so was super tasty, and then I realized I could no longer sip anything because OVER HALF of my cup was filled with blended ice and taro chunks that I couldn't get up the straw... because the ice was in the way. Very disappointing! I suppose it would have been better if I had waited for my ice to melt, but why would I pay $4 for watered down taro milk? Other gripes about this location: theres hardly any parking. Sure, you can park in the next lot over, but I still find it frustrating. I went on a Thursday night and the wait was ~20 minutes. While some of their drinks are definitely tasty, I probably won't stop by again unless I'm really craving a creama. read more

I do love me some Milk Tea. Sharetea does it right with their Okinawa Pearl Milk Tea. Nice roasted flavor with hints of brown sugar. Pearls are lightly sweetened with just the right amount of chew. We came to this newly opened location to find quite a few people even if it was some random time on a weekday in the afternoon. Apparently Sharetea is worth ditching work for. Service at the register was fast but our drinks took about 25 mins due to large orders ahead. People were ordering to take back to co workers, family, friends. So the amount of people in contrast to what they were carrying out was deceiving. I was a bit concerned that this location wouldnt be as good as the San Mateo store but fear not, it is just as good. I appreciate the consistancy and now that I no longer have to dig for a reason to justify driving to San Mateo or Union City, makes me much happier. I am so happyyyyy this location has opened!! It's a lot closer to my house and I LOVEEE their Fresh Milks!! I've already been here two times and both times I had to wait for my drinks for 30 mins lol. But it went by pretty quick. I'm sure that will change since this place is still very new and it's the only one located in San Jose. I went when if you checked in via Yelp or Facebook you got one free topping. The first time I went I was charged for my free topping and I even showed the guy that I checked in on Yelp. Good thing I asked for my recepit. I was told this location is different than the other two, but to me it's not. I still love the Matcha W\Fresh Milk. I got that the second time I went. The first time I got the Cocoa Lover w\Fresh Milk and ice cream. The Matcha I think needed a little more matcha to it, you could taste it, but I liked how I had it the first time @ the Union City location. The Cocoa Lover was good, it reminded me of chocolate milk. I got both of my drinks less ice and normal sweetness. Next time I will get no ice. The less ice was still too much for me since I drink it slow. They do take credit cards without a minimum so that's totally awesome!! Toppings are 50 cents more, but I think worth it. NOT. WORTH. Unpopular opinion here we go. I don't get what all the craze is about but this place was nottt good. I am willing to try the more established locations in San Mateo, Berkeley, and SF, but this one...never again. It's located in the same building as the old Bar Code location, but it is indeed not the new Bar Code. My friend and I came during a random hour in the day on a weekday and it was pretty packed! It didn't take long for them to take our order but it took WAYY too long for us to get our drinks. We didn't even order anything super complicated just your basic Okinawa milk tea (roasted brown sugar) and oolong milk tea. Both drinks were not to our liking and it was way too hard to finish due to our distaste. We knew that we probably could've expressed our concern and got new drinks, but we just didn't want to wait another half hour for them. They also forgot to put pudding in my friend's drink....even after such a long wait too...and she paid extra for it, but we were sick of waiting even longer. The Okinawa tasted just like sweet milk, there was no tea flavor in it. The oolong milk tea was also more milky than tea flavored. They both tasted on the heavy side as well. The oolong had a kind of unsatisfying taste to it and I know I've had better oolong elsewhere. I think the overpowering taste of milk kind of ruined the drink. I will say that their boba did taste very good. If anything maybe next time I will stick to just the fruit teas, because REALLY, you can't mess up fruit teas, literally syrup and tea. Fairly amused at how good it was. And if you know me, I'm a huge boba guy from the Sac to San Diego. I've tried a whole bunch of places and around this area, hardly anything has come close to quality, good milk tea or flavored teas. Around the area you have GongCha, ChaTime, JasTea and so much more but they're up and coming and so far for my first time, I have not been let down. Their milk tea are not made from creamers, but from actually fresh milk and they use real taro bits in their taro milk teas. It's not too sweet and not too bad. It's pretty amazing. Comparable to GongCha and ChaTime. I had what I believe is called their Okinawa milk tea, which is like a roasted milk tea and boy is it good!? I also bought the Mango Green Tea and it tastes fresh and not artificially flavored like most places. Tastes like real mangos. They're up and coming so it'll take some time for their drinks to be made because they're still trying everything out and not fully experienced but it is worth the wait. The best part was, it was a minimal $2. I guess as a special promos for a few days until they're fully open. Kind of like a soft opening. Sharetea - Strawberry Crema on point! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - San Jose, California

So I've been waiting anxiously for this place to open for months. I live right around the corner and I've spent the past few months driving past slowly and peering hopefully at the dark storefront. When I heard Sharetea was doing a trial run, I grabbed my sister and we ran out of our house in pajamas to get our hands on this tea. Since this is for their trial run, I'm going to deviate from my usual review format and just provide some constructive criticism. Obviously, after months of anticipation, I have some vested interest in the success of this store. I look forward to updating this review with more positive reviews after their official opening! First of all, for their trial run, they are offering all drinks for $2, CASH ONLY. But prepare yourself for a long wait, guys. This is not even a soft opening. I have the feeling that it's just a practice period for their employees, who are clearly struggling. I ordered five drinks and waited 30 minutes for them. I felt so bad, I just wanted to jump over the counter and lend a hand. I originally ordered a High Mountain milk tea (hands down, best drink at Sharetea) but they told me that they were still brewing it, which could take up to 45 minutes. I settled for the more traditional pearl milk black tea, but then they told me the pearls weren't ready and asked if I would accept mini pearls instead. Not a big fan of mini pearls, I opted for grass jelly. About 10 minutes into my wait, I heard the manager say that the big pearls were ready. They hadn't started making our drinks yet, so I asked if I could switch to big pearls instead of grass jelly. The manager was very accommodating and changed our order for us. However, when our drinks came out 20 minutes later, two were mini pearls instead. That's totally fine, I'm not going to ask them to re-make it, but I'm just curious why mini-pearls entered the picture at all. If they already made the drinks before I changed my order, wouldn't they have put in grass jelly instead? I just hope they didn't accidentally give me anyone else's drink. As for the drinks, I ordered 50% sweet with no ice. After trying their jasmine milk tea sample, I knew that 100% sweetness was just asking for cavities and diabetes. The 50% milk tea was still a little too sweet. The pearls were a little overcooked (too soft) and a bit bland. I guess the overly sweet tea was a blessing in disguise because it helped mask the flavor, or lack thereof, in the pearls. Overall, I think this Sharetea has a lot of potential! Their employees definitely still need time to familiarize themselves with the menu/recipes. They need to iron out some logistics so they can have the necessary tea/toppings ready. Maybe they can add some (more) honey or brown sugar to their pearls? Anyways, excited to come try this place again after its official opening! read more

Okinawa milk tea was legit. The drink cost around $4.35 after tax. The boba had the perfect texture and chewiness and they give you a generous amount of boba. My drink came out pretty fast even though they were busy. My only complaint was the cashier person was not very friendly. read more

This is the second Sharetea location I have been to. It is conveniently located in the next small shopping strip by Ranch 99 and Gen BBQ. Parking lot is tiny though and most are reserved for the bank. I did street parking but it is a busy street along with an outlet from the shopping area next door so watch out. Decent tea and nice atmosphere. Great service and the employees answered my questions. I ordered the Okinawa milk tea with pearls and egg pudding with 80% sweetness level. I was worried about the level since the Okinawa was brown sugar taste and I was adding pudding to it. I was told the pudding was not too sweet so 80% was just right and it was. read more

I'm so conflicted with what to rate ShareTea because there's a lot of good, and a lot of not so good. I came in on a weeknight (tonight) and there wasn't a long line/crowd and not a long wait. It may have been pretty long considering there was no one ahead of me, but I got my drink in 5 minutes and left. I didn't have to wait 30 mins like many other yelper's experience, which I understand why their ratings would be affected. I got the passionfruit green tea, 50% sweetness, no ice, tapioca pearls. It was a good sweetness level, I was able to get the tea taste, and without the ice, my drink wasn't super cold, just how I like it. The pearls were also really chewy and had good consistency/texture. They didn't offer a smaller size so I got more than I wanted. I do like how they have an electronic rewards program that's tracked off your phone number. Very convenient as I don't like carrying around a fat wallet. Ehh and the drinks are kinda expensive. Pros: good tea taste good pearls Not cash only. They accept credit card with NO minimum. electronic rewards system Spacious interior, but not a lot of seating Cons: No drink size options. My favorite drink here is Happy QQ family milk tea which comes with all kinds of toppings. Very special and cheapie price. Ask for less sweet and ice to make it as perfect. Now they replace with recycle paper cups so a bravo for going green. They sometimes offer many promotions each month such as buy 1 get 1 half off or 25% off, and they also have five stars with many good rewards for loyal customers. read more

One of my favorite boba places in SJ! First off, finding parking to go here can be a little tricky during peak hours because of the plaza next door with 99 ranch and Gen KBBQ. It's also kind of in an odd corner of the block so it might be a little hard for people who aren't used to the area. But other than that, this is a solid boba joint. I really like how this place is fast with taking your order and making your drinks. The line might be out the door, but fear not! You'll have your drink in your hand before you know it. My favorite drinks are the honey green milk tea and oolong milk tea. Drinks are good like 9.5 out of 10 times. Every so often, I get a drink that's a little too milky for my preference. I like how so many boba places are popping up in the san jose area. Sharetea being one of them~ My two usual go to's here is the brown sugar milktea (okinawa pearl) or the winter melon tea sea crema. I was told that the winter melon tea sea crema does not actually contain tea and isn't caffeinated. I found out cause I was asking for a popular low or no caffeine drink. It was getting late, around 8/9pm and I didn't want to be rolling around in bed later in the wee hours of the morning.. yeah, caffeine does wonders for me. Their regular sweetness is pretty okay for me. I certainly have a sweet tooth and would normally ask for a little extra sweet. The brown sugar milk tea's sweetness can't be adjusted though, just fyi. So if you're more into that tea taste, I would lower the sweetness level. They also use fivestar here! It takes up to 12 points (1 point per drink ordered), before you can actually receive your free drink though. Then again, their cup size is a little bigger than your average milktea "regular" size. I heard the wait use to be pretty bad when they first opened, but I feel like management and the workers have settled in and the drinks come out in a timely manner now. read more

It was my first time here and many more to come. I went here with my friends and we order two drinks from the crema series. They were fresh and not too sweet or powdery like some other places. It's pretty comparable to Gong Cha which is another favorite of mine. The cream at Gong Cha is more of a salty sweet cream while Sharetea's cream is a bit sweeter. Drinks came out about five minutes after we ordered. I wish yelp would allow to give out a half star system since I want to give this place a 3.5 stars. read more

How many more milk tea places do we need in this area?! Jk haha Sharetea opened in my area not to long ago, but with a new milk tea place open, comes with very long lines ): but who can blame them? The parking isn't that bad, you don't have to park in the parking lot, you can always park outside on the street by the houses and the walk still isn't that bad. It was my first time and there was so many different drinks on the menu, but the cashier (Diana) was very helpful and told me her favorite drinks to me and my boyfriend. She recommended the fresh milk tea, because it was really refreshing and ice cream black tea. I got the ice cream black tea because I was craving something sweet. She was super nice and patient w/ me and my boyfriend ^_^ "no rush at all!" The only downside was that the drink took forever ): but you have to cut them some slack. Super long lines and they are still new? Can't be mad about that. I got my drink after about 25 mins or so, and it was super good! (Thanks Diana :P ) next time I'll get the fresh milk tea! read more
