One of my favorite boba places in SJ! First off, finding parking to go here can be a little tricky during peak hours because of the plaza next door with 99 ranch and Gen KBBQ. It's also kind of in an odd corner of the block so it might be a little hard for people who aren't used to the area. But other than that, this is a solid boba joint. I really like how this place is fast with taking your order and making your drinks. The line might be out the door, but fear not! You'll have your drink in your hand before you know it. I like how so many boba places are popping up in the san jose area. Sharetea being one of them~ My two usual go to's here is the brown sugar milktea (okinawa pearl) or the winter melon tea sea crema. I was told that the winter melon tea sea crema does not actually contain tea and isn't caffeinated. I found out cause I was asking for a popular low or no caffeine drink. It was getting late, around 8/9pm and I didn't want to be rolling around in bed later in the wee hours of the morning.. yeah, caffeine does wonders for me. Their regular sweetness is pretty okay for me. I certainly have a sweet tooth and would normally ask for a little extra sweet. The brown sugar milk tea's sweetness can't be adjusted though, just fyi. So if you're more into that tea taste, I would lower the sweetness level. They also use fivestar here! It takes up to 12 points (1 point per drink ordered), before you can actually receive your free drink though. Then again, their cup size is a little bigger than your average milktea "regular" size. It was my first time here and many more to come. I went here with my friends and we order two drinks from the crema series. They were fresh and not too sweet or powdery like some other places. It's pretty comparable to Gong Cha which is another favorite of mine. The cream at Gong Cha is more of a salty sweet cream while Sharetea's cream is a bit sweeter. Drinks came out about five minutes after we ordered. I wish yelp would allow to give out a half star system since I want to give this place a 3.5 stars. read more

The parking isn't that bad, you don't have to park in the parking lot, you can always park outside on the street by the houses and the walk still isn't that bad. It was my first time and there was so many different drinks on the menu, but the cashier (Diana) was very helpful and told me her favorite drinks to me and my boyfriend. She recommended the fresh milk tea, because it was really refreshing and ice cream black tea. I got the ice cream black tea because I was craving something sweet. She was super nice and patient w/ me and my boyfriend ^_^ "no rush at all!" The only downside was that the drink took forever ): but you have to cut them some slack. I was told it would be a 15-20 minute wait. I come back in after 20 minutes and see that an order taken after me was done first and I only ordered one drink. I asked if it was ready and the girl told me they would make it next. You can tell they are prioritizing online orders that they are working on by the way they finish making a few drinks and put it to the side in the back while there's two other customers outside besides me waiting for their drinks. It would make sense to get the very few in-store orders out of the way first rather than have customers wait 20-30 minutes while making online orders that haven't even arrived yet. This place is overrated, over-hyped. Decided to try it out, since alot of my friends love the ones in sf and Berkeley. .However, I never tried the other locations, so I took everyone else's words and tried it for myself since this one is close to my house. First off, I came in with my foodie buddy, the line ended at the door, so I didnt think the wait would be too long, about 4-6 people in front of us. I got the Taro milk tea 100% sweet (yes, they use the powder taro here...and I'm fine with it, because it still taste good to me), and my foodie buddy got the honey milk tea. The wait was super long for them to make our drinks about 25-30 minutes, even with a bunch of staff in the back too. When i tasted the taro, it was not sweet even though I asked for 100%, severely diluted with only a faint taro taste. I noticed on yelp that other people's taro cup is purple since they use powder here, but mine was this muddy color. I was super dissatisfied, every sip was like drinking sugar water,with no flavor and then a gush of this sweet honey flavored boba. It was terrible, didnt finish the drink. Foodie buddy got the honey milk tea, and it was super diluted too, tasted like it was poorly made, and tasted like lemon tea, what the hong kong people make at cafes. He did not end up finishing the drink either I told myself I would never come back to this place, because the quality was just so bad. On that day I even felt that going to a quicklys would be better than this. However, one day my brother brought me home the classic black milk tea with boba. This time it was mediocre, definitely better than my first experience, and for all the boba lovers out there, they give you a generous amount of the pearls. But I would much rather prefer and recommend going to gong cha in the next plaza over. (This is based on my go-to order, their classic milk tea.) I've found that Sharetea is my go-to when I'm craving that simple/basic/classic milk tea. I usually get the classic oolong milk tea with boba, less ice and 80% sugar (for which my friends make fun of me all the time for being so basic), and I've consistently found that the flavor is really strong, and the amount of boba is pretty generous. I can't speak for the other items on their menu since I haven't ordered them enough times/at all to make a solid judgment, but in terms of classic milk tea, you can't go wrong here. Other notes: Parking can suck like crazy here because of the small lot and the busy plaza next door, so just be prepared to spend a bit of time in your car before getting to your milk tea. read more

It would have been 4 stars if I reviewed them after my first visit. Let me explain. 1st Visit - I ordered a roasted milk tea, 50% sweet with pearls. It was so nommy and I was really excited about having Sharetea close to me. The wait was like 5 minutes..suh weet! 2nd Visit - I tried to order the same roasted milk tea and they said "we don't have roasted milk tea." I tried to explain that I ordered it at this same location just the other week and they kept saying that they didn't do roasted milk tea. They recommended the brown sugar roasted because that might have been what was given to me last time. Next problem. I asked for 50% sweet and they said that for that drink, they could only do 80% sweet, which made me really doubt that they were giving me the same drink I got last time because I definitely got my drink 50% sweet last time. My drink came out and lo and behold, it was not what I got last time because it was not as smoky/roasted. I actually have no idea what was given to me last time and that drink was the main reason I was coming back to Sharetea. well, well, well! I thought this was just another weak boba spot that will get hyped for a couple months then die, BUT I must say it's #TopTen! like my boy Erick Tran would always say. Boba is on point, the drinks are well made and not powder taste like some spots. But it's also the amount of boba they put, it's just enough with the drink, the ratio is just right, it makes you enjoy your drink more when you don't have too much boba or too little. I recommend the Coffee Milk Tea for my coffee peoples, the Honey Milk tea and other milk teas should be just as good. I haven't tried the ice cream ones yet but I heard they're bomb! I hope they become more efficient at making drinks and taking orders. The teas taste just like the San Mateo & Berkeley locations and are also sweetened to the sharetea standard of too sweet(???). But seriously it makes my teeth cringe from how sweet their 100% sweetness is, so I would recommend 80% or 50%! I love Sharetea but too bad I didn't actually get to drink it at this location. The line was somewhat long but not too long and still took 10 minutes to order. After paying, I heard someone else ask the girl how long will their drink be and she said 20 minutes. 20 minutes?!? It would have been nice for a little warning of the wait time. They have 5-6 people making drinks back there and it takes them that long?? Needless to say I asked for a refund. They should have had better training before they actually opened up. My favorite thing here is the Matcha with Fresh Milk. This is the #1 reason that I keep coming to any of the ShareTea locations. It's milk and matcha - no tea. I like to get it plain (no toppings), half sweet, with less ice. This Sharetea in North SJ is clean and still looks new. There are a few tables inside and it's got outdoor seating too. It's located next to the Pacific Rim Plaza, and not in it. I had trouble finding it at first, but it's in the same area as a bank. Out of the three Shareteas that I've been to, it's my least favorite in terms of the service. On my first visit, I asked the cashier a question about what the creama drinks were and she was hard to understand plus she didn't really answer my question. She just said that they were foam drinks. I had ordered the matcha creama, but I did not like it. Plus it took awhile to get my drink (there were a lot more people waiting). The service was a little better the next time I visited. The service is meh, the location is meh, but it's the only boba chain that I know of that does Matcha with Fresh Milk, and this location is the closest to me (though it's still a bit inconvenient to get to). And another great thing about Sharetea is that they accept credit cards with no minimum. They also do the Five Stars program. I'll be back for my next Matcha with Milk fix. read more

Sharetea holds a special place in my heart and stomach ... almost too literally. I find myself here at minimum once a week. Sharetea is my favorite boba spot in the South Bay, no question about it. PICK THIS Mango milk tea: hands down favorite. They use a mango puree that leaves a bit of pulp at the bottom and it's slightly chewy and perfectly sweet and delicious at 50%. 10 out of 10, would hit that again, and again, and again ... :9 Oreo milk tea: like milk? Like Oreos? This was a surprisingly delicious milk and cookies and tea combination that I really enjoyed. Yes, the cookies get soggy but they have that undeniable crack-like addicting factor Oreos have. Kiwi ice jelly: refreshing, unique! I am a fan of the ice jelly. Yakult teas: I've tried passion fruit and mango; both are delicious. Great for hot nights when you want to be able to go to sleep at a reasonable hour. Peach green or black tea: amazing, strong tea flavor without any syrupy taste. Honey milk tea: standard, delicious. Good with grass jelly. Mango green tea creama: the first drink I ever tried at Sharetea (albeit in San Mateo). Also delicious here. Good with egg pudding. Okinawa milk tea: brown sugar, which is good when I want something sweet but not fruity or plain. Passion fruit and mango green tea: maximally fruity and refreshing. It does get sweet though, so I recommend 30%. PASS THAT Strawberry black tea: strawberries need milk. Strawberry black tea creama: creama goes one of two ways: good or bad. This one was the latter, unfortunately. It's off putting, doesn't blend well, and gave me a tummy ache. That's what I get for wanting to try something new. Taro milk tea and taro smoothie/icy thing: not sure this is what real taro tastes like, but I'm pretty sure they use powder and the flavor reminds me vaguely of Rice Krispies treats. It's not bad, but not great either. Honey with aloe vera: what is this? Water with honey and aloe vera? No, just no. Don't do it. Overall, their drinks tend to be really sweet, so adjust accordingly. I always get 30-50%. Also, they recently upped their prices, s Every time I try milk tea from around the South Bay, I end up thinking "Damn. Should have just gone to Sharetea instead." I've probably drunken, cumulatively, gallons of boba milk tea from here, which I will continue to do until I find a new hot spot. read more

Sharetea is not in but actually right NEXT to the 99 ranch plaza in this random plaza. The oolong milk tea is really good here. At 30% sweetness and less ice, the tea was perfect. If actually tasted a little sweeter than other Shareteas I've had it at which wasn't a bad thing. The boba here however, is a little overcooked. It's a little on the squishier vs chewy side so it's not as perfectly cooked as it is at the other Shareteas which was a little bit of a disappointed. Hopefully it was just a bad batch or something and they normally cook it well. Lines get pretty long here. There are a few tables inside as well as outside. I've tried sharetea a few times now and I just don't understand the hype around it. This location is pretty small with limited parking. I've gotten the ice cream black tea and I think it's pretty underwhelming. The tea tasted watered down so when the ice cream melted it just tasted like the ice cream. Went to sharetea today and i would say the drinks is pretty good, fruit tea drinks are pretty sweet compare to other tea place where there normal sweet is not that sweet. Love there ice blends drinks. But on the down side Customer service was terrible, employees were rude and seem tick off even though i ask for a tray with a bag. And i only end up with a tray with no bag. My friend order 4 drinks and they didn't even offer her a bag nor a tray for her drinks. They have a variety of tea, toppings(?) like pears/pudding/jelly, etc similar to any other Tapioca cafe but you can choose your levels of sweetness, amount of ice etc. during the ordering process which is nice in case you're not a pro at this. Taste wise, i got a jasmine green milk tea at 30% sweetness and pudding, but it was still too sweet for me. Service is ok. Location is off the freeway. Parking can get bad. Im usually happy with a pretty standard milk tea or flavor with bubbles, nothing additional. The bubbles are perfect and the tea is always brewed well. I think this Sharetea is one of my top to go-go boba shop. I've been to this boba place couple times already, and my experience have been pretty good. This place is usually pack during their peak hours, but don't worry, they are pretty fast with their drinks. I usually come here and get their QQ Happy family which have everything in it! This drink is basically a mini sample of their toppings in one cup. It has lychee, small + large boba, red beans, & pudding. What I like about it is that they are not stingy with their ingredients. They literally add a scoop of everything in the cup. If you're not into all of the ingredients you can always ask them to leave it out. You can customize it to your desire. I usually take out the lychee and pudding because it takes up most of the space, and I get less milk tea. DON'T WANT THAT TO HAPPEN. Another thing is that it's only $3.75!! So worth it!! Gotta give props to the Taiwanese for their amazing milk tea! This is my current favorite place for milk tea. My ultimate favorite is Verde's milk tea, but this comes very close. I might even like it a tad more than Verde. Taste wise, it tickles my taste buds just right, and leaves me wanting more! The pearls here are just as good. They are chewy, and sweet. Not bland boring bobas. I always get the original as is which is 100% sweetness. It's cool that you can customize the levels of sweetness, and how much ice is in your drink.
