The staff were very friendly and helpful. I got two piercings recently after having nothing done since the early 90's. I wanted a clean and professional establishment to do my new work and I can wholeheartedly recommend them. Annie did my piercings and she was great! read more

The first and second times were good experiences. But when I went in for an install of my nose ring that I took out for medical test, Annie served the customers who were spending money first because there is no charge for installs. She did not have a good vibe at all. Not one word as to how long the wait would be or any acknowledgment about having to wait. Very disappointing visit. read more

I've been coming here since I moved to Dallas in 2021 (I used to go to their NW Austin location when I lived there) and I have ALWAYS had wonderful experiences here. Annie and Jade have been my go to piercers for years. Prior to getting any piercings, they require you to watch piercing healing and care videos so you know what you're getting into. I love Pineapple (the owner) and his commitment to being thorough and honest when it comes to healing. They are so patient and knowledgeable when it comes to jewlery selection, the piercing itself and healing. They are APP members here--that mixed with their calming demeanor really helps with calming nerves. I swear by this shop and their piercers -- also free parking in the lot and after care packages! read more

Shaman Modifications Body Piercing Studio - annie and fresh 2 helixes - Piercing Near Me - Dallas, Texas

Annie at Shaman Dallas set the standard. Called on a Friday sort of overcast type of day showed up about 2 hours before closing with a wild request a 6mm (2G) punch through my helix. I walked in under the assumption I'd probably get a consultation and have to reschedule. What actually happened was this smooth straight to the point process you could only expect from well prepared professionals in their craft. From the jewelry selection process to the execution of the piercing even paying was the last thing on my mind (no pressure) I really got a chance to soak it all in. This is the place to get your piercing fix satisfied! $200 read more

How does it cost $220 dollars for a tongue and lip piercing? My daughter went here with her cousin to get piercings and I wish I would have went with them. I called to ask about pricing after I saw the cost and was told they charge $55 for the piercing PLUS starting at $40 for the titanium jewelry. The total price for the 2 piercings and basic jewelry was $220 dollars. I have had many piercings from reputable shops and have never paid this much. RIDICULOUS pricing. read more

I just had a wonderful experience with Jade. I walked in and she greeted me so enthusiastically! She talked with me about several piercing options I have been considering and spent a good amount of time showing me different options for my ears and jewelry. She didn't try to upsell or go over my comfort level of my budget. Her passion is palpable and she is so knowledgeable. We decided on a hidden helix and a helix, so that we can put a chain between the two after they heal. Jade walked me through every step and was so gentle & kind. Her procedure was super detailed and sterile, which as a medical professional is very important to me. I have several healed piercings and I can honestly say this was the most pleasant experience I have had. I cannot say enough how simply adorable Jade is. Her personality is the cherry on top of her professionalism. She has a client for life in me. Go see her, I promise you will have a wonderful experience. read more

Jade was AMAZING. Firstly, she took her time. She very meticulously made sure my ear piercings were lined up even. She also did a wonderful job explaining exactly what would happen next so that I wouldn't get jumpy or flinch. When it came time to actually do the piercing, it went so smoothly. Usually I get a little shaky after a piercing but I felt so calm! She was just so kind and caring. I was just visiting Dallas because my family is here, but next time I'm back in town I will totally see her again for another! Thank you Jade!!! Also sorry for the not ideal pics haha I just had to snap pics right after so I could admire them! read more

Great piercing experience! I went for a PA piercing and Annie, the piercer, was amazing! She was kind, knowledgeable, and very talented. For such a sensitive piercing, she made me feel extremely comfortable and the process was quick and relatively painless. Highly recommend read more

My favorite piercing/tattoo parlor I've walked into ever. (in Dallas) I'm going to add to the heap of reviews praising jade here because they freaking deserves it! Not only did I feel so completely comfortable getting pierced by them, but they made such fun and engaging conversation as well. Also, the other staff who were busy with customers were very sweet as well! Just good vibes all around. After my piercing they let me know shaman was one of Dallas's more expensive piercing parlors but I'd happily pay $100 again for the eyebrow piercing I got done. It was done perfectly and a month later it is still going strong. I've had no issues with it and hadn't healed a piercing before using their LITHA method but it's worked better than what I've done in the past so far. Mostly I don't feel any discomfort with the piercing during the day, a couple times it bled after getting whacked but the pain never lingered. You get what you pay for here. It's really top notch. read more

I decided to see if my anatomy would allow for a vertical labret piercing. My friend and I went to Shaman at her recommendation. Wow. This place is spotless and beautiful. They have Covid measures in place, have you wash your hands immediately upon entering, and only allow +1 with the person being pierced. The jewelry selection is fantastic! Annie (piercer) helped me choose the right jewelry for me. She was super careful to measure and mark to get everything perfectly vertical. I lay on the bench for the piercing, and it was quick and relatively painless! Much less pain than I was expecting. She told me I did great, and I am SO happy with the piercing. It's beautiful! Jimmy helped me learn all about the aftercare and got my little aftercare package together. I highly recommend this shop for everyone in Dallas looking to get pierced. Everyone is friendly, shop is super clean and sterile and overall a great environment. read more

Haven't worn lobe earrings for over 20+ years, so I came in to get them pierced again. I came in and Jimmy checked me in. He was super informative and answered a bunch of my questions. I was then introduced to Annie who was supposed to pierce my lobes, until she realized, they were still pierced! She didn't charge me for the piercing, but I did purchase some cute earrings, which she installed for me :) Both Jimmy and Annie made the experience super easy and I love that she was honest with me! I will definitely be back for more earrings and possibly more piercings! Thanks Annie and Jimmy! read more

3 years later and even though I don't live in Texas anymore, I stopped back for another piercing (I'm a sucker for BVLA & their quality jewelry)!! Annie is an equally awesome person and piercer - I've never had a bad experience getting pierced at Shaman!! read more

I...hate having to make this review. Let me start off with the positives: the place is sanitary, the jewelry is high quality, and I have confidence in the piercings that they regularly put out. But, my nipple piercings were botched. It took me almost a full year to come to terms with it. Got them pierced in June of last year for my bday. They seemed to be healing okay, although I took a lot longer than I should have to downsize them due to social anxiety. I want to preface this by saying that I know the risks that come with not properly downsizing your jewelry: migration, rejection, snagging. Those were NOT the causes of my issues. The piercing experience itself was wonderful. My piercer (Annie, I believe) was wonderfully patient and calm and willing to explain the process, as well as pause for me to collect myself. This means a lot during such an intimate piercing. But sadly that is where the issues began. There is a lot of back and forth around the appropriateness of handling the tissue to harden it before piercing, and I do want to state that no piercer should advise that they have to fondle or pinch you in order to pierce it. That being said, my nipples were not FULLY erect when pierced. Idk how to phrase it but they were like "halfway there" not "it's cold outside oh my god I should have worn a bra" stiff. Again, maybe on other peoples anatomy that doesn't matter as much but on mine it did for two reasons: my right nipple was slightly inverted, and my left bunched up slightly more on one side unless fully stiff. She pierced me, and told me to come back in a couple of months to check in on downsizing them. When I came in, I had already noticed that when fully stiff, my left piercing was at almost a 20degree angle upwards, while the left side of the hole correctly began at the base. I advised Annie of this, and she stated that some people's tissue stiffens unevenly, which is true and I've seen at slight angles. This, though, was way to severe of an angle and the right side had a very thin amount of tissue over it due to the angle. I was in denial though, and so I just took her information at face value. My right side, I then noticed that night, looked like it was pierced through the middle of the nipple, rather than at the base. That is a HUGE issue in nipple piercings. A shallow piercing can lead to rejection, and makes it way easier to catch and tear it on things. Again, I thought that Maybe I was being crazy, and decided to just bring it up at my downsizing appointment. I didn't come back in for almost 5 months. It's important to state again that during that time I did not have any incidents that might have caused the issues I was seeing, and that I noted both issues within a month of getting the initial piercings. I came back in to get my jewelry downsized just last month, and decided to just bring up my concerns once again with her. She had an apprentice with her, and I believed that I could possibly get a more in depth understanding of what might be causing the issues or if I should take them out for re-piercing. I was told it was fine and that they looked good, and the jewelry was changed out quickly and I was sent on my way. I should NOT have been downsized without them noting or commenting on the angle and shallowness of the piercings. They were very apparent. But again, this was a really painful piercing to get. I was in denial and REALLY wanted it to work. But finally, I decided I at least should get a second opinion. So I reached out to not one, but two separate APP-registered piercers for their input. I was told that the angles and depth were completely off and that my right one was severely at risk of migration. That my only options were to remove them and re-pierce in 3-4 months. I was DEVASTATED. had I been informed of this earlier, it would have saved me the process of carefully attempting to heal them for the better part of a year. I really wish that they had been honest in seriously checking up on the angles and depth. ESPECIALLY on the shallowness of my right nipple, which was egregious. I can't post pictures so I included a drawing of each piercing and what it looked like. I'm almost $300 in with the piercing fees, jewelry and downsized jewelry, and so angry at myself for not noticing the issues earlier and being more honest about my need to re-pierce them. I can understand not having accounted for my specific anatomy on my left side at the time of piercing, but she should have noticed at my follow ups. I believe that 99.99% of the piercings this shop puts out are EXEMPLARY. But should they not be, it should be up to the piercer to make the recommendation to re-pierce. Mistakes happen. The issues with this shop are NOT the price point (which is appropriate for the quality of the jewelry). Just wanted to clarify that many of the negative reviews are not for subjective issues. But this is. I'm sorry. read more

This place just does piercings. Here we opted to get my daughters cartilage pierced. As her mother, I had to bring my daughters birth certificate, an ID for her (because she is 14), as well as my ID. It's a bit pricey. It ended up being $80 something all together. That included the piercing, and the $33 plus jewelry we picked out. This place was very clean, and the staff were very knowledgeable. Annie was amazing. She helped me pick new BVLA jewelry for my mid-Helix and Helix existing piercings. What I appreciated most was her ability to look at a piercing that had been empty for 3+ years and say that it was still open and didn't need to be repierced. The store was unbelievably clean and all jewelry was sanitized using steam before Insertion. Annie's bedside manner was calm and caring, even though she was just putting in jewelry. read more

What an incredible experience!! I will ALWAYS go here now for every piercing. This was the most professional and welcoming experience in the 23+ years I have been getting piercings and tattoos. They have an exemplary staff, meeting you at the door in masks to start your experience off safe. Honestly the most impressed with any business I've been to in years. I went with my friend as "moral support" and knew I thought a nose piercing would be cute but was terrified. After watching how thorough they were explaining everything and the fact that this place was cleaner than a doctors office, when she was done and paying I decided to go for it and am sooo happy I did!! I got my nose pierced at a different studio last November and wanted to get my jewelry upgraded. After a search on Instagram and Google, I came across this studio and I wish I had known about them sooner. I dropped by on a Sunday afternoon and was quickly greeted and signed in. The ambiance of the studio is extremely dope with a clean, modern aesthetic. They do not take appointments, but they do take walk-ins throughout the day on a "first come, first served" basis. Also note that this is strictly a piercing studio but they do have tattoo artists at their Austin location. When I arrived, there were two people ahead of me but my wait wasn't long at all. While I waited I was able to take my time and browse the massive jewelry selection. You have the option to either purchase the jewelry and take it home to install yourself, or you can have the piercer install the jewelry for you (complimentary with jewelry purchase). The piercer that performed my install was Anne, and she was extremely kind and knowledgeable. She was also quick and was able to get me in and out. I went to this place because of all the good reviews. I wanted to like this place but my experience was far from it. I went in on Sunday with my boyfriend to get my nipples pierced. I was originally helped out by this nice girl but she had to pass me on to Drea to do an anatomy check because she had people she was going to pierce already. Drea asked for my ID and looked at it and threw it on the counter where the square checkout was and walked me back. She didn't even cover my ID or had any sense to tuck it away herself. The rooms are remarkably clean, automatic soap, sink, and paper towel dispenser. She asked me to lift up my shirt and check my nipples. She looked and automatically said no, then she proceeded to try to give it a pinch and just said no it's not possible. I was so bummed, I thought she was giving me her honest professional opinion but she proceeded to tell me that my nipples are not pierceable and whoever else that does it is just doing it for the money and not looking out of my well being. I went home and did even more research then I have and found that even guys with even smaller nipples than mine still got it pierced. I looked for a second opinion that same day and got them pierced and even the piercer couldn't believe what I was told. Drea was just on her lunch break and was "finishing up a slice of pizza" so I'm not sure if we just caught her in a bad time and she just wanted to get back to eating or she just point blank didn't want to pierce me. I wouldn't recommend this place to my friends with such a poor service I received read more
