Shake Shack is always a decent go to for a good smash burger. A little over priced but still very quality. Their cheese sauce for the fries is top tier (I always get in on the side). The menlo location is very clean a spacious, always plenty of seating. Which Shake Shack had more comfortable seating other than the hard wooden seats and booths they have. Stopped in and ordered a K-Shack BBQ Burger and a chocolate shake. It was very good The burger was perfect it was flavorful wasn't too greasy and the cheese was amazing I would definitely get it again. The shake was okay I was very thick and the straw was collapsing it needed to be blended more or else they needed stronger straws in general. I came here a little after 12:00 noon and I didn't think they were open because the parking lot was empty but as I left people started showing up. The store itself is nice and clean They have TVs with closed captioning and also outdoor seating. You place your order on a tablet or you do it on the app You don't really get human service other than the individual bringing it to your table if you ordered to dine in but it was done pretty quick. Visited the RT-1 Edison location across from Menlo Park Mall and tried the Avocado Bacon Burger. Ordering was easy with self-serve tablets or online. The burger was flavorful and very filling--I got the double, but a single would've been enough. Didn't order fries, but the burger alone was worth it. First time to this location . The entrance to this place is just wierd ! When you come from Rt1, you dont have a direct entry to the restaurant. You need to go all the way to the back and get onto this parking lot. Lots of parking outside . Love the lightings and outdoor seating . Lots of space inside to sit and dine. . There's a very long line from cashiers/kiosk to the door. We were lucky to grab a table and then hop back on the line to place the orders. We had 3 shroom burgers and a chicken sandwich and fries. The shroom burger with melted cheese is delicious! The cheese is inside the shroom patty so each bite oozes out the cheese melt. Mmm yum! Tip: the trick to avoiding the long wait next time is to download their app and order directly on your phone and skip the line. read more

The lot has only one entrance/exit though which is a little rough. I had a lettuce burger, fries and a drink. I love their fries. The burger was typical for them but tasted a bit mealy and over cooked. For smash burger fans, you'll like it. I'd say come for the shakes which are awesome, the shroom burger and fries. My friend and I got hungry, so we stopped by this location since it just recently opened. The staff: One staff member came up to us while we were using the self-ordering kiosk and greeted us. We saw one staff member that kept cleaning the same garbage can over and over again for half an hour. A manager/supervisor came over to us specifically and asked how everything came out tasted. I do not understand why they give us the numbers for the tables when we use the self-kiosk and they do not even bring us our food. Chicken Bites: This tasted very oily, and the chicken bites kept falling apart. Single Truffle Lettuce Wrap: My friend wanted no lettuce, but they still gave him lettuce anyways. This shows that the staff does not read the notes at all. French Fries: The french fries tasted a bit cold as if it has been sitting there for a while after frying it. Chicken Shack: This tasted a little odd compared to the other locations that we have been to. It does not taste the same and was a bit oily than usual. Overall: I think this location still needs more work with their food and service. They should work on the food so it should at least taste the same as the other locations. read more

YAY! This location finally accepts online ordering. The pick up process is not smooth sailing though. I had to wait 15 minutes past the time expected. The design is beautiful! Very industrial and modern. There's plenty of parking as it's in a small plaza right across from Menlo mall. Inside was very chaotic and I don't know if it's because they just opened but people were confused as to how to order ( Kiosk vs at the register). One of the Kiosk wasn't working so it caused the lines to be longer. We wished they had staff directing the flow of traffic more as it was really crowded. We ordered at the Kiosk and dinned in. We grabbed a buzzer but you still had to walk up past the long lines of people to actually get your food. The burger was good. But I wouldn't say it's better than smash burger. There was also some slight pink in my burger which I did not love. The fries were definitely not better than chic fil a or 5 guys to me. So my wife and I ordered off the app when we were about 15 mins away and waited about 20 mins once we arrived to get our food (2 burgers and a fry with a side of cheese) I know it's a new location and all. But the waiting time felt a bit excessive. The lettuce on the burger was wilted, but other than that everything else was great. The burger was great and so were the fries with the "Real" cheese sauce. Their counter has all their condiments (Including mustard!!!) try some mustard in your burger and tell me about it. Delicious !!!!!!! They also have nice cold courtesy water that looks like it's coming from a beer tap. If you know me, you know I'm a HUGE shake shack fan so I was ecstatic when I heard they were making one at Menlo Park. Fast forward to today, and I've been to this shake shack many times. Burgers are always juicy and delicious, fries are always hot and crisp, and shakes are always thick and creamy. Staff is always friendly and service is usually quite quick, even if there is a long line. I will continue to frequent this shake shack location many times in the years to come! read more

First time here since it opened and so far they like to keep it cold, had to keep my winter jacket on for the dine in. While waiting on the food we saw an employee eating McDonald's fries in the back lol. Food is not bad, but not worth the wait in a cold dining area as I looked around all the customers have their jackets on Been all over in the states while in the military and tried a lot of shake shacks and I would rate this one as the lowest Sorry but you guys need to step up your game, doubt we will come back or find another one not as close or convenient Summertime is around the corner. Ok, today they redeemed themselves a lot. Corp reached out to me after my initial review and gave me $20 to use towards a web or mobile app order. Ironically they don't accept web orders at this location but I downloaded the app and was able to place my order to pick up. I think that may be the best way to go because when I got there, a lot of people were sitting around with sour puss faces waiting for their food I'd assume. But even my first visit there the wait wasn't that bad and it was super packed. Today I had the hot ones chicken sandwich and that sandwich lived up to the name. I even had the bacon cheese hot ones fries to match. Fortunately they put the sauce on the side because after eating the sandwich the fries would've prolly just been overkill on heat. Now let's break down this beautifully crispy chicken sandwich they blessed ya boi wit. It was fresh, had a nice season to it and the cheese was melted just right. Soft ass buns, pause, and was just the perfect bite. I wish it were bigger but it was indeed plump, so I can't really complain, just the glutinous American in me will. Let's not forget the bacon, oh no, we cannot forget the OVERLOAD of bacon provided. I mean every bite was accompanied with bacon, even after some slid off or I might've bit and extra big piece of bacon, there was still plenty left in da tank. The fries were hitting today too, almost as if they knew they were making em for me based on my last review, everything was hot, perfectly salted, and again HELLA BACON ON DECK! So as promised I said I'd give them another shot and I'm glad I did. I will definitely be goin back and hopefully will be given a reason to give them more stars. 100% Beef Smashed Burgers & Amazing crinkle cut French fries what's not to love. The price is a bit steep compared to other fast foods but your paying for the food quality. Even the cheese on the cheese fries was a good quality compared to other places. Music is a bit loud inside but if you've had a few drinks before I'm sure you won't mind. This has to be the worst ShakeShack location. From entering the building there is no proper lines. Half of the people are on the order machines. The cashier is leaving the register to tell people to come order at the register. It is terrible. That's not the worst part. The worst part starts after placing your order. I waited exactly 55 minutes for two burgers and regular fries. This is a fast food rest. On top of that, the food was ice cold. Beef burger had become stiff. The cheese on the burger was hard again. When your order is ready, the associate calling your name doesnt have enough stamina to say your name loud enough. Why can't they just add a screen that shows your name when the order is ready? There is no concern from the associates to bring your food on time. I looked around and only one table was actually eating. No manager seemed present at the location. If there was a manager, they need to be fired asap. I am very dis-satisfied with this location.
