Park Avenue Diner is a solid, dependable diner. It's always packed, which says a lot about how popular it is in the area. The food is decent and consistent -- exactly what you'd expect from a classic New Jersey diner. The menu has plenty of options, portions are generous, and service moves pretty efficiently considering how busy they usually are. If you're looking for a reliable spot that's lively and always buzzing, Park Ave Diner gets the job done. read more

I have been going there frequently as of late and am always satisfied with my meal whether it be a burger, a salad, or a wrap. I have also enjoyed the soups there. I have always found that the experience there is better when I sit in the room off to the right as opposed to the booths behind the cashier. read more

This is a fabulous diner. it is spotless, spacious and the food is delicious. Ayman is a wonderful manager who treats his customers and workers with respect. You will be absolutely delighted with your dining experience at the Park Ave Diner. read more

Update: The owner reached out to me apologizing for the managers behavior and saying he wanted to make it up to me. He also offered a gift card and clarified that Dimitri has not been working there for 20 years. It's becoming clear that the issue isn't the Diner itself but the employee. I don't know if anything has changed or if the manager has been given additional training. However, the owner seems to be kind and wants customers to have a good experience. While I will declined the giftcard and will not be returning, the owners message is an indication that there is a chance this place can improve. read more

Good diner. Nice breakfast Specials. Baklava was old and nasty. Quick friendly service. Typical diner setup.

This place is always awesome! Service is jersey fantastic, be sarcastic with the server you get it right back, so funny. The food is great even though the menu is daunting...like a million choices..stick to diner famous food and their pastries and you won't go wrong. My favorite is the open turkey sandwich with Turkey gravy and fries with brown gravy on the side(that's a lot of gravy). Small side salad is pretty big! Tip your servers well...they will remember you and treat you like kings and queens read more

I went here with my brother because nothing beats a diner breakfast in NJ. I ordered the breakfast croissant and it came with home fries. Delicious food and they also have freshly squeezed orange juice. My brother ordered the #3 griddle combo which was also delicious. Portions of the food is very general. Pleasant staff service with a smile is always appreciate and the staff at Park Ave Diner provided that as well. read more

Okay the service here is hit or miss. A few days ago, we got seated and for about 20-30 minutes we were completely ignored as the staff just mingled and goofed off with each other. I usually enjoy the food and the breakfast, but the last time I went it was just terrible service and we ended up leaving and going elsewhere for food. Might be good to note: they were not busy at all. Breakfast and food is still pretty good though so might go again on a different day. read more

Visited this establishment on Thursday, May 9th around 9:30 am, upon arrival, this establishment was pretty quiet. We were seated right away at a boot. The establishment was pretty well kept as it was recently also rebuilt. I ordered the Belgium waffles with a side of beef sausage and my wife ordered the French toast with a side of bacon. Upon taking the first bite of the waffles, I realized it had a very funny after taste, generally waffles I have at dinners are a little bit more brown and heavy however this was very light in color and light in feel as it was lacking more mix. I first thought it was the syrup but after having my wife taste it without the syrup, we both agreed there was a funny after taste. Instead of telling the waitress, we just placed that aside and shared the French toast which wasn't too bad however different from what I am use it. Felt very heavy but also realize all the meals include the sides had this oily taste as it the oil needed to be replace. Definitely was not impress however our waitress was very nice and welcoming. My wife instead we should try lunch here as she recently had their burger and enjoyed it so I may give it one more try. read more

I went to park ave diner expecting a good experience but that wasn't the case at all. I waited for my food atlease 30 to 40 minutes because one waitress was working. Once I got my food it was cold, the home fries were not home fries at all. It was mushy with a slight char on top. No onions, peppers or anything. Only thing good was the orange juice. read more

Decided to stop in with my husband because we were in the area and this place was really a let down ! We were seated immediately and the staff was nice and our drink orders were takin ! We ordered French onion soup for both of us which had barley any broth and the bread under the cheese was hard as a rock ! My husband ordered a chicken Cesar wrap which had no dressing on it and no coleslaw on the side which he ordered ! I ordered the turkey club which was ok nothing major , about 5-10 min after eating she drops the ticket on the table and says have a nice day when we clearly just started eating and didn't even ask us if we wanted refills ! We definitely felt rushed and most likely will not be back read more

It was the best of meals, it was the worst of meals. My cheeseburger was hot and bloody perfection but my fries were as cold and stiff as a cadaver. When I asked for a fresh batch, the waitress sniffed, turned on her heels and muttered something under her breath that sounded like "whatever" ... even the dolphin in her wrist tattoo looked annoyed. I can get an attitude much closer to home. Two stars for the amusement. read more

Where do I begin, I am not vegan BUT i really love their vegan chicken scampi. It is so creamy and the meat tastes just like meat. I personally don't like vegan food but this is the only vegan food I would eat. The servers are so nice and the people are friendly. Don't go on the weekends because the children are loud but on the weekdays it is quiet and nice. Very clean and lots of windows so you don't feel caged in. 10/10 read more

Review for the "Alaskan Benedict" dish: 1 star for decent service waitstaff and welcoming host 0 stars for the Alaskan Benedict crime against humanity Friday morning about 10:30ish-- new chef on duty? someone underpaid? someone having an off day? total lack of knowledge on how to prepare said dish? maybe the one chef who put this item on the menu no longer works there? Menu says Benedicts are: "Two poached eggs served on Thomas English Muffin and served with home fries" Describes the Alaskan Benedict as: "Smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, red onion, hollandaise sauce" What was served: Soggy mushy home fries; only a bite had a crisp exterior, all else was limp. They're supposed to have some crispy exterior and tender interior, but it's not supposed to be mushy at all. Super hard boiled egg instead of poached; there was NO run to these eggs. The runny egg law was enacted and repealed in 1992 with exceptions for nursing homes, schools, and catering events. Maybe the egg preparer was stuck in a time warp or maybe it's how the clientele prefers it here? Maybe the egg preparer previously worked at a nursing home, school, or did catering? Not listed on the menu but provided on the bread nonetheless were giant raw spinach leaves. Who serves unwilted greens in a benedict? No capers. At all??? Gigantic fat slabs of unpurged red onion. Seriously-- raw onion is fine. Slabs could be tolerable. But if you can't be bothered to salt it a few minutes to reduce the pungency and soften the texture, why bother serving it? The place was starting to fill up by the time I finished. I left a cash payment and tip. I should have held back. I was going to give it 2 stars for the wait staff, but down to 1 star-- the person who took my order is the same one who brought the food out to me. If they are comfortable presenting that to customers, knowing full well what the meal is supposed to be like, then I don't know what to say. My first and last time ever at this place. read more

This is our favorite place to go after church on Sundays. Food is always hot and they have a great selection. We have eaten lunch and dinner there several times. Again the food and service were very good. Menu is almost too big because great dishes and not able to try them all. When they refinished the restaurant they made great choices. I'm diabetic so I can't have any of delicious liking pies and cookies. I highly recommend Park Avenue Diner. read more

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. My friends and i just left this diner and we thought we were gonna eat such good food but no. Our waitress gave us one of the worst service experiences ever. She barely came to our table and when she finally gave us our food, majority of it wasnt cooked throughly , was overcooked and one of our plates of waffles HAD A LIVING LONG CENTIPEDE UNDERNEATH IT and my friend was eating it and all of a sudden it jumped out!! And of course the people working were horrible about it. Yes we got the waffles taken off the bill but they acted like we brought it in ourselves. The owner literally said " I checked the waffle maker and there were no bugs or anything" YEAH BECAUSE IT WAS ON THE PLATE. We literally argued and got no where with the manager. Karma bites hard and I hope you choose to never dine in such a disgusting place!! Also, one of my friends is gluten free and ordered the gluten free pasta marinara and gluten free chicken and AFTER everyone got their food, we didnt receive the pasta so we asked and the waitress nonchalantly said "oh i forgot to tell you we dont have it" Well we know what you do have , CENTIPEDES. Disgusting isn't even the word. If i could 0 stars I would. read more

As a got my order my burger first off was not good, I spoke to the manager and he was rude I received no compensation for my horrible meal, even do you want something else would have been nice but no just a rude manager. Sunday morning breakfast. High hopes. Delightful waitress. Food 1/2 good. 1/2 weird. Husband's skillet looked awesome,& he loved it...the Texas skillet. My pancakes were the weird part. Undercooked. Pale. And something in there was VERY wrong. Nut and honey pancakes. Smelled rancid. Tasted rancid. Don't know if it was the oils in the nuts, or the batter. Couldn't eat. 10.50 down the drain. Husband urging me to say something/have cooked more...remade. Why??? Turned me off. Won't be doing that again:( ...& coffee seems watered down read more

Came here for breakfast with my family and the staff was very kind. The diner itself was clean and beautiful. I ordered eggs, pancakes, bacon, and potatoes. All well done and tasty, my husband had a burger and fries and stated it was really good as well. This is a usual place for me, breakfast or evening meal. Never had a problem with service or food. I decided to order takeout for the first time on 9/3/23 around 7:30-8:00pm. Ordered Caesar Salad With salmon and a slice of cake. What I got Was a Piece of salmon No seasoning on top of a very small amount of ICEBERG LETTUCE with some brown pieces, a few soggy croutons, maybe 2 slivers of cheese. Didn't taste like Caesar dressing. For $27 dollars I was extremely disappointed. Never again. Please tell the cook, Caesar salads come with romaine lettuce. read more
