This is a home town breakfast place. The interior is set as a old fashion dinner.Located across from train station and not far from DMV and post office.. came in for breakfast be cause was early getting to DMV. Great breakfast spot. Everything made to order. So served hot and fast. The cook and server both friendly good at what they do. The over easy eggs and sausage were tasty with flavor. French toast was nothing special but hit the spot first thing in the morning. One of those places you will not look to be over thrilled with but you will not have any complaints about either.

This is my spot. Its so close to home! When my mom first came to Edison, she would come here for breakfast. They became regulars and then she was pregnant with me. The owners were super sweet with her and to this day we stop in once a while to enjoy a good breakfast! Same great chef and the food is always good. The owners now has watched me and my siblings grow and is super sweet. The place is very old fashion and that's what my mom likes about it!

Nice hole in the wall. Has a 'greasy-spoon' look but the cooking is good; Dishes, counter-top, cooking areas are clean; old warn fixtures. No fills. Low cost. Diner basics menu. Food served fast and hot. Outside sign says they serve dinner but paces closes at 3. Meatloaf Special is good, $8.99 with soup. Ask for the gravy on the side, otherwise it's drowning in it. Good soup, nice and hot. Like their greek salad. Cooking done in plain view behind the counter; love it. Good breakfast. Huge omelets, typical diner - big grill cooked - so they are browned (overcooked); good ingredients, tried the western and veggie. Excellent home fries. Fresh coffee. Great service from a veteran friendly crew. Place gets busy. Friendly customers are mostly regulars; a lot diversity on many levels - economic/racial which adds. Zero ambience but I'm OK with that. Men's room ok but could be cleaner. Need to clean the fixtures guys; felt like doing it myself.

Mousaka & greek salad (I couldn't wait for the mousaka to arrive before digging into the Greek salad a bit)

Will be demolished soon. Quick Chek going in its place. Try it out before it's a memory.

Ambiance: - cozy, well lit - plenty of seating Service: - friendly and attentive waiter - food was served quickly Food - Monte Carlo: huge portion! French toast was fluffy and the strawberry jam was sweet and delicious. I also loved the coleslaw- just the right balance of mayo and tanginess - chicken and rice soup: my go to diner soup was full of chicken flavor and fluffy rice - disco fries: came with large pieces of mozzarella that slid off the fries. I wish the mozzarella was incorporated more evenly into the fries Would love to come back to try out their breakfast items!

The first time back I didn't expect be treated in such a degrading manner. There were barely any customers and I simply wanted to check their cakes and get a coffee to go. I ordered with the manage upfront and he immediately acted like I was wasting his time. I then asked a very common question what the frosting was on the red velvet cake. He rudely snapped back saying "just normal cake frosting," as if there was no other options. But I then asked if it was buttercream or cream cheese, when he replied with buttercream he had such a degrading attitude acting like cream cheese was such a ridiculous option. After paying $3 for a small coffee, I took a sip and noticed it had almost no coffee taste. I went back and mentioned it, he rudely said he didn't understand what I meant, insisting he'd been making the same coffee for 20 years, as if coffee could never be diluted then STRONGLY implying the issue was me. He brought out the second cup and the little cream I asked for looked almost translucent. I then calmly just asked for a refund. He muttered something under his breath and then almost flung the money at me like I was a piece of sh*t, telling me to never come back. Im still speechless at what happened. I don't think I've ever had anyone in my life treat me even close to the way he did. I feel as if the second I parked facing the entry door and hung my handicapped placard I was targeted

As soon as we sat down, our server was incredibly welcoming and attentive. I asked him for a drink recommendation and told him what flavors I usually enjoy, and he immediately suggested something that ended up being absolutely perfect for me. The drink didn't take long at all to come out as well! Everyone at my table ordered burgers, and we were all impressed. The portions were generous, and the burgers were cooked just right. They were juicy, flavorful, and satisfying without feeling overly heavy. We paired them with fries and onion rings for the table, and both were sooo crispy and delicious. The restaurant itself is beautiful both outside and inside. It has a really inviting vibe, and you can tell they put effort into creating a space that feels stylish but still comfortable. When we arrived, it wasn't too busy, which made for a relaxed lunch experience. While we were there, near the bar area there was a group of people celebrating something with a DJ, and the energy over there looked like so much fun!! Overall, great service, delicious food, and a fun atmosphere. I'll absolutely be coming back!

I ordered eggs, bacon and a banana waffle. When you order a side of bacon they serve you six slices of bacon. (I actually asked the server if it was a side?). The banana waffles come with an entire banana sliced on it. The portions for breakfast are extremely generous! Located in Ford's, NJ on what looks like Main Street you will find Colonial Restaurant. It's mixed in among houses and shops. It's a typical NY Diner menu which I love. When you walk in there is counter seating the length of the restaurant on the right and a line of booths that seat 4 on the left. If you go with a large party you will have to sit separately. If you're in the area I definitely recommend Colonial Restaurant for breakfast!
