Terrible service and they don't care. Went with my wife for breakfast. Ordered simple on menu items with no deviations. Food came out wrong. Told person, they brought good back into kitchen. Good came back out again with one of the b orders still wrong. No apologies. Multiple employees sitting around talking. No one apologizes, it seems like you are inconveniencing them. The place was not even busy. When we went to pay and explain, we just offered a lame excuse that they worked a lot of hours. We ate at this venue often when it was Sunset Diner, when it was a true NJ Greek owned and family run eatery. We tried it when the new owners took over and it just wasn't good any more. They invested in new tableware, which is nice, but the food and service just were not up to par. read more

Food was ok. Meatloaf was dry, gravy was super thick. Gyro was decent, fries were really good. Waiter was nice, had to ask for him to get refills on drinks. For a non busy diner with tons of staff (sitting around playing on their phones) you'd think they would keep their eye's out for that. But the waiter was pleasant. Time to pay the bill, stood at reception for 5 mins, 2 employees across from us talking, 2 others walked by. Finally at 7 mins someone came out of the kitchen and said let me get the manager. Have been coming here every other week since it changed from Sunset diner... started out strong and has now gotten unbelievably bad. New servers every week and don't even know what vegetables they have... ordered their Jack Daniel's steak special which used to be a large steak .. it is now perhaps 10 ounces and after cutting off the crazy amount of fat there may have been 4 ounces of steak. Instead of a potato and vegetable I asked for two vegetables... originally said they couldn't do that and after I said that's crazy ...and they put corn and broccoli in a small saucer together. $65 for two people for an awful meal... never return again. read more

The evening manager (female) keeps the place so cold and every seat is under a full force blower that it's uncomfortable just to be in the place. Didn't even stay to ask if she could move the temperature up 10 degrees. It's her. Last week the young man running place had it comfortable. The female manager just doesn't get it. And never will. You come back and say I'm sorry we don't have that yet. Would you like something else. Simple wait staff 101. #4 Hair. No I'm not referring to the hair style. I'm referring to the one in my food. Thin black hair. Stuck in the half melted cheese. I know one of you just thought it happens sometimes and I know it's probably more common than you think. Remember going to school? All the lunch people had hair nets? Yeah what ever happened to that? Or do they only wear them when the health inspector comes around! In today's day and age finding hair in your food should be a thing of the past. #5 Listening is key when you want to be a waiter or waitress. The customer is your priority. I've been coming here for years. This place used to be called (The Sunset Diner.) It closed down for a couple of months and was completely redone. The same people own this restaurant as the Sunset diner. When you come through the front door there's a large display case with amazing looking mile high cakes of all kinds. There is still the long counter for seating, it's just all been updated and new and fresh looking. The inside is very nice aesthetically, and the booths are very comfortable. They still have that big room in the back.My server was very nice and attentive. The coffee was fresh and hot,and my Greek Omelette was delicious. I asked for my hash browns to be well done and they made perfectly. There's plenty of free parking. You can park on either side of the diner. This diner is centrally located on Rt 22 east in Green Brook. If you're coming west say from Warren, take the jug handle at the White Castle. I will definitely be returning. read more

I visit Park 22 for diner food and it's solid for that. The old fashioned French Toast is very good and I love that you can get REAL Maple Syrup for an up-charge. Corn syrup on my Pancakes, Waffles or French Toast is a NO and a diner that offers the real deal gets high marks from me. The potato pancakes are delicious; I love them with a poached egg on top. A 24 hour North NJ Diner??! Freakin Awesome right?! Amanda the hostess on duty with a hilariously fun personality greeted me and immediately I felt like I was at home! I remembered her from a local Italian American Club. She took me over to a big cozy corner booth where my friend was already seated. So... menus, specials, flatware, napkins and drinks already there?? Wow, Zahamy, our terrific server was way ahead of the curve. Incredibly professional and attentive. We both had the delicious Matza Ball soup and Zahamy recommended the Nachos as an appetizer. Bingo! Monstrous serving, like huge! This is a little long but I hope management reads it in its entirety. Let me preface by saying - it is Mother's Day and this is where mom wanted to go. She enjoys comfort food. The hostess was very nice - seating us because mom needed to sit. Jumping us ahead of others - thank you. But that is where the good experience ended. There were 5 of us. Diners # 1-5. Diner # 2 & 5 chose the Yankees pot roast - a sure bet. It's made already and just needs to be served. Diner #2 ordered soup and diner # 5 a salad. Diner #1 & 3 had chicken dishes - diner #1 ordered a salad & diner # 3 French onion soup; and diner #4 ordered a salad and sliders. Now - Diner #3 received her chicken dish (it came well before the soup). No other food was served to anyone else. Finally Diners #1 & 5 received their salads and diner #2 received her soup Diner # 4 has no food (remember he wanted a salad.) Next diner #2 received her pot roast. Soup and salads were still being eaten at this time although diner #3 still had not received her soup - just her entree. Diner # 4 has no food - remember he wanted a salad & sliders. Finally the second chicken dish arrives for diner #1 soon after that - diner # 3,s soup arrives but note - she asks for a take away container. She is done. She was the first and only person to receive her food early on. Diner # 4 still has no food - remember he wanted a salad & sliders. And diner #5 still has not received the sure bet - already prepared pot roast dish. (3 others have there entrees - and 1 is done bc it came so early). Finally - diner #4 finally gets the sliders and his salad at the same time. Still no pot roast for diner #5. Everyone is done just about and the waiter is called over to cancel the pot roast meal for diner #5 who never dined. The waiter is surprised. "It will only be another 5 minutes." SMH Desserts were included with the specials on this day so two people asked for takeaways on that and the waiter threw in a third take away dessert for diner #5 who never received his food. A nice gesture, but diner #5's mom was very upset that her son didn't get a chance to eat, kept saying eat mine, eat mine, eat mine, which made the whole experience even worse. It was busy - however there should've been somebody managing the kitchen and managing the meals that were going to the tables. When you run a business, you have to stay hands-on and be present - so I feel these errors were a direct result of poor management and I hope they learn a little bit from this message. Myself and my family were faithful every week eaters at this diner, but unfortunately will not be returning. You see one very, very bad experience can ruin someone's business for good!! read more

This place is the worst!! I walk in and the host and manager by the cash register talking don't even acknowledge me. They're all yelling loud at each other like it's a joke that they're at a party. I actually had to finally ask if they were open and if somebody could seat me then they had to figure out who was gonna wait on me. There's a waiter and a waitress making out in the back and the music is blasting. This is 730 on a Monday night. I wave to one of them to send somebody to help me and the girl stops making out with her boyfriend to come over and take my order. I ordered a chicken soup and a chicken sandwich. She never brings the chicken soup when I reminded her, she says oh that's right and they made a chicken sandwich on the plate. No fries no lettuce. No condiments. Nothing. Then she disappears again and I have to look for somebody to get my check. Never again !! read more

I visit here every year same week every week in June. I worked here 50 years ago. It is still a well-run diner with excellent Diner food. Fast service, attentive staff. Anyone who has complaints has no idea what it takes to run a diner. It is difficult non stop work. Amanda the pretty hostess was friendly and always gives a nice greeting and friendly smile. I gave this diner a second star because the service was good. We had a very nice waitress but the food was absolutely terrible. Worse food I've ever had at a diner. We're locals to the area but My family and I have never actually visited a diner in greenbrook although there's several. So we figured give this one a chance. We ate in this diner for the first time this past weekend. On the menu they had a honey walnut French toast dish with a side of fruit. It sounded amazing. When the waitress brought out my dish, on the plate was literally just French toast with whole walnuts on top, a side of bacon and a side of fruit. I was very hungry and hadn't ate anything that day purposely so I would have room for brunch. I ate French toast. That was fine although there was not a taste of honey anywhere in the dish. The bacon tasted like it was fried in petroleum oil. The fruit tasted dirty as if it was not washed or rinsed. It just tasted like it was handled with unclean hands. As soon as I tasted the honey dew, I immediately spat it out. Needless to say to say, I did not finish my dish. And looking around the table no one in my family had either. We were all very disappointed in the food. My family and I tipped the waitress well because it wasn't a reflection of her just the diner. I developed a headache shortly upon leaving. I thought it was just me but another member of my family had to. I honestly think it was the bacon. I was looking to check this place out with my kids since it's so darn close to home. The place is super cute looking and the menu has great options. However, there were some things that were off. To start, the place we were seated at was sticky, but I didn't realize until I got syrup on my elbow.. I cleaned it up and cleaned the syrup on the table thinking it was just a small area missed. After our meals arrived ,I went to grab some jam.. sticky ALL over to a point they were all stuck together(clearly had been stuck on for a while). No problem ,let me just try a different flavor. NOPE, sticky, all of them. I was put off but looked past it and just skipped the jam. Finally, my fresh squeezed orange juice tasted very overly ripe. As in, when oranges start to blacken and they have that strange taste. I let the server know and all he did was apologized. I left it on the table full minus that one gulp I took. The Nutella pancakes and banana one were really a hit with the kids. I liked that they brought over warm syrup. Overall, I'm hoping this was just a one time bad experience with too many things that had happened to go wrong all at once. They need to dedicate someone to solely clean at this place or check and clean all the jams/condiment consoles before close. Also, I recommend keeping the oranges fresh or avoid juicing any that are clearly bad. One bad experience can keep a customer away forever.
