There was a bit of a mix up during our dinner with meals and the system going down but it was quickly fixed and not a problem overall. We started with 'Gabe's Street Corn' which was fresh char grilled NJ corn on the cob smothered in buttery brown sugar sriracha sauce, house chipotle aioli, smoked paprika, parmesan & fresh cilantro. I would come back just for this ... this was SO delicious. I am a Street Corn lover but this was some of the best I've ever had. For our entrees, my husband got the 'Root Beer BBQ Burger' which was char grilled angus burger, swiss, provolone, hardwood smoked bacon, house sarsaparilla root beer BBQ, lettuce, tomato, frizzled onions & cheese crusted brioche. This burger was BIG and he said it was one of the best he's ever had. I ordered the 'Grilled Watermelon & Basil Salad' which was mixed greens, toasted almonds, feta cheese, hardwood smoked bacon, charred juicy watermelon, fresh chopped basil, sliced cucumbers & house buttery garlic croutons; Served with balsamic vinaigrette. There was definitely not enough watermelon, but the salad was huge and quite good; very fresh. That is one thing I can say for sure; the portions are big. The prices are a bit high but you get a good portion. For my dessert, we got the ice cream flight which is 4 flavors of your choosing. We tried the 'Peanut Butter Cup' (very light on flavor, not in your face peanut butter but still good), 'Strawberry Buttermilk' (this was my favorite! So creamy and flavorful), 'Black Raspberry Truffle' (another favorite. HUGE chocolate chunks!) and 'Watermelon Garden Mint Mojito' (Light flavor, but not my favorite. I would not get this again. I tasted mostly mint, not too much watermelon). I would 100% come back if I was in the area and I would recommend. I love any place that has unique ice cream flavors and not just the typical flavors. Service was friendly and felt very welcoming.

I've been wanting to check out this place for a while. I'm Italian and grew up going to mom and pop…read moreItalian markets since I was a young girl. K&S Italian Specialties reminds me of that. The minute I walked in I knew I came to the right place. It really took me back to those nostalgic days with those familiar smells I grew up loving. Everything is made fresh, and to order at K&S Italian specialties. I wound up buying their pasta salad, fresh Italian bread, imported dry pasta and cookies. This place was busy and I saw many people ordering their different types of sandwiches which are large. I love that they have a sandwich with chicken cutlet, broccoli rabe and fresh mozzarella. They make all different kinds of pasta dishes and they do catering too. As I walked around I noticed they have wonderful imported soppressatas, ( dry cured salami's) fresh pastas, and dry pastas, imported olive oils, balsamic's , Italian cookies, delicious Italian breads. Imported meats and cheeses. They sell beautiful imported dishes and platters from Italy. The staff is very friendly and a lot of locals come here. I highly recommend this store

There were several workers behind the counter so I did not have to wait long to place my order. I ordered the sub with lettuce, tomato, onion, oil and vinegar. It's normally a 20 minute drive home but because of the rain, it took nearly 30. When we got home, the sub was not soaked to the point where the bread was falling apart, which shows they add just enough and the bread is sturdy. It was just as good as I remember it. I wish I could find someplace similar closer to home but don't mind the drive back to K&S.

But I lean towards 3 automatically because I prefer to see business do good. I ended up getting the tooth fairy on a whole sub. My friend had the chicken salad sub. POSITIVES: Bread was good & fresh just like the cold cuts & Cole slaw. They definitely take care of their product. Presentation from how the sandwich was put together, & the Turkey portion was THE BEST. Not too much where it only tasted like Turkey & pastrami, but just the right amount to make it a hefty sandwich where all the ingredients complimented each other. Wrapping & bagging is worthy of mention, great job. NEGATIVES: It was mostly Turkey with a tiny amount of pastrami, like one slice, MAYBE two. The Turkey did not taste like it was a good brand. It didn't have a bad taste, it just wasn't great quality. It would have been a better experience if the Cole slaw wasn't drowned in thousand islands dressing. Since the pastrami was so little it really doesn't make sense to put that dressing on it. Some bites the meat & cheese were nice & warm & other bites it was pretty cold, that inconsistency threw me off. As for the chicken salad sub, my friend had better & also gave it a 3. CUSTOMER SERVICE: The young lady did great in putting things together. Seemed to be a great employee as far as performance, she may need a little improvement with friendliness. Can't say she was rude but a bit stand offish. Friendliness goes a long way. Overall, when you compare the price for quality, I honestly wouldn't come back here again. This place is NOWHERE near a 4 1/2 in my opinion, but I hope they do well.

Thank you for a wonderful late lunch, early dinner before heading into Manhattan. The chicken tasted fresh and the lettuce was a nice deep green and I liked that it wasn't damp from washing (this can happen in other places). The tables each had hot sauce, ketchup and everything you may need on each table. The Christmas music was also really nice to listen to. The gentleman behind the counter was welcoming and friendly as soon as walked in. The coffee bar section was immaculate and very clean. I noticed decaf coffee, regular, French vanilla and a cappuccino machine. They also offer a refrigerated section with lots of options of soft drinks. It's an old school style deli but still has a couple small booths if you would like to sit in. The paint color was a pretty light blue and had a sign with a nice prayer to the Lord. I felt like I was somewhere by the shore and this was relaxing. Would be really cute in the morning for a breakfast. I can imagine that they get very busy. I was missing my pickle as I usually have a pickle that comes with my wraps. I also felt like the wraps were a bit small and didn't have a lot of chicken but felt satisfied with the ingredients. **A recommendation that I would have is to not spray the coffee counter with the cleaning chemicals as people are eating when it's not absolutely necessary. I really respect that it's clean but for those eating to have those fumes, especially with allergies can be disruptive. When I got in the car, my face was flushed a little red because I'm sensitive to the harsh chemicals.
