I had to get my pork roll, egg and cheese fix on my New Jersey trip. The sandwich was good, the pork roll was just a little overcooked. But besides that the sandwich was very tasty. I like how tight the sandwich was, it did not fall apart. I would definitely come back and try another one again. Sorry about not having a picture, as I was out and about on the road. Not really sure if I was there on a Off Day, I was really hoping to be blown away based on the reviews but god was I met with disappointment. Nothing was freshly made all you cutlets, eggplants, sauces, salads be sitting there in the windows chiller and from the looks of it for days if not week, so rest assured no freshly made business here. And the prices are exorbitant for what you get. From what I gather all the review are out to support the local institutional mom-pop business and believe me when I say this I am all for supporting these small businesses but at what cost, shouldn't the businesses also up their game ? read more

What can you say about a place where the owners remember you 5 years after you've moved? We came for breakfast but they remembered my husband's love of a pastrami sandwich and that is what was made for us. I've loved the breakfast here. Helen & Benny are the sweetest people in the world!! I am in town visiting some family. We looked around and didn't find many gluten free restaurants opened as early at 6:00am. We found Benny's restaurant and called ahead to make sure they were open. Helen was so amazing and reassured me that there were "so many" gluten free options. We came in and she was so warm and inviting. She immediately said "where you the ones who called, let me show you my gluten free items". She showed us all her gluten free lunch items in the case, and all homemade!! She said she has many customers with celiacs and she is very familiar with gluten free diets. I got a breakfast platter with eggs, Turkey bacon, "the best potatoes", and some toast. I even got some lunch to go! Helen & Benny are the sweetest couple. We came here last weekend after reading amazing review.. Lady making our sandwiches was super sweet. I ordered specialty sub with prosciutto with sharp provolone and roared pepper ( sorry forgot the name of sandwich) but it was really good.. loved it and hubby ordered a sandwich made with fried poke... Me and some friends came in here and ate a whole bunch of food. It was all good. This is a true mom and pop style joint - the owners are Benny and his wife Helen, and they are the ones who served us. Super nice people who provide exceptional, friendly, personal service. We had some helena shrimp, some sandwiches (I had a roast beef, pesto, and fresh mozz sandwich), an order of amazing french toast, some tex-mex style chicken with black beans, rice puddings, chocolate chip cookies, and a stuffed cabbage. Everything tasted very good, and if we weren't full at this point, there was even more really good looking stuff in their case. Seating is limited; a half-dozen tables, some for two, others for up to 8, but this isn't a huge sit down restaurant. Benny's is a small little deli in a tiny strip mall in Martinsville that is very easy to miss. Sandwich's are fantastic. Try the organic salads as my wife can't get enough of them. There is a rotating menu of fresh home made soups that are always good. Prices seem high until you realize that the ingredients are top notch. Besides soups, salads and sandwiches, Benny's always has dishes such as sausage and peppers, baked salmon, veal cutlets etc. Some dishes are better than others and I tend to stick to the sandwiches.
