This location of Charley's was extremely busy since it's located inside Menlo Park Mall. The staff were mind despite being so busy, and the food was cooked on the spot. I would say it could've used more flavor, the meat tasted a bit bland. We did try their new menu item, lemon pepper wings and they weren't appetizing. Was about 14$ for this meal. it is slightly pricey because its in the mall. took them about 3-4 mins to make it . The cashier can not hear customers clearly and she needs to speak up. The supervisor/manager needs to learn about customer service because he has a nasty attitude. The whole staff needs to go to cheese school and get some hearing aids because they literally had each staff member ask me what kind of cheese I wanted. I told them that I wanted "AMERICAN CHEESE!" Here in AMERICA, when we say AMERICAN CHEESE it means YELLOW CHEESE not white. Cheesesteak: They were cheap with the AMERICAN CHEESE "YELLOW", the steak itself, and especially the peppers which they only gave me one piece of green peppers. The cheesesteak was not to my satisfaction. French Fries: Tasted old/stale and had absolutely no taste at all. What a waste of money for french fries. I might as well have went to Chick Fil-A for my french fries. Peach Lemonade: Tasted super sour and tasted watered down with no peach taste at all. Visited this place in Menlo park with frnds, we had chicken Philly , chicken teriyaki with the side of garlic parm fries and strawberry lemonade. The sandwiches are good and the lemonade is excellent, fries are ok as well but I expected more from fries very less sauce they poured and nothing special as well. Could have been better. I would like to think that my taste in food is quite refined, lol! With not much reviews written for this place, I was surprised by the low rating. Most seem to complain more for their customer service rather than the great cheesesteaks they serve. This is our go to at the Menlo Park Mall food court when we want something quick. I don't know what everyone else is talking about but they consistently serve up delicious, fresh cheesesteak sandwiches each and every time. The steak is not dry and overcooked, it's juicy and tender. The bread is soft and nicely toasted. Their french fries are always piping hot and perfectly crispy. I'm not a fan of lemonades but I think they have the best refreshing blueberry lemonade here. I have never ever had trouble with their customer service. Always friendly and patient. Nothing wrong with telling them exactly what you want as you go down the line when they assemble your sandwich. I always keep an eye out if they happen to throw in something when they are not supposed to. No biggie. Very nice staff. Make sure you get their rewards card. I'm reviewing this on behalf of my boyfriend because of how much he loves this place. When we go to the mall he religiously eats here. The staff is also so so so nice, especially the manager. I don't understand how people have had bad reviews for this place because we always have a pleasant time. The food is always good and they accommodate to your requests. Charley's has become a staple of Americas food courts over the last 10yrs. The samples they give out as you pass by are delicious. I'm such a sucker for a sample. Unfortunately no matter which Charley's I'm at I get-suckered into to getting since the teriyaki chicken sub sample is so tasty, I get let down once I order. It never ever tasted like the sample especially since every time I feel there's no actual meat in the sub. It's a lot of bread, a lot of onion, a lot of cheese and no chicken teriyaki. The cheesesteak is the same way all bread, cheese and onions no steak. The fries are ok and how do you pass up bacon, cheese and ranch doused on them for like a buck. Good in theory not in real life. One day I'll learn my lesson and pass this stand by hopefully. read more

You can choose the toppings of your sandwich, but the meat itself was in such small chunks that there was too much bread. The whole sandwich felt like a bun. And cheese. If I wanted a cheese sandwich, I'd stay home and throw some butter, sliced bread, and cheese slices on a cast iron pan and it would cost be a couple bucks. The food court is getting better with their dining options, and for cheaper you can get a burrito or a burger. If this place wants to compete, throw a few more pieces of meat into your sandwich so the $10 plus a person pays gets some bang for their buck and you don't go out of business. read more

Just you're average philly steaks, they're not bad but definitely not amazing. The reason for the one star is because after I ordered my meal (which includes a drink), the original guy taking my order didn't give. But ok, that's fine. I headed down the line and grabbed my sandwich and went back to ask for my soda. The manager, I believe, wearing the blue shirt, stared at me like I have ten heads when I asked for a soda. I was holding my receipt and he just stared at me. Than I ask for a straw since there were no straws and he kept pointing to the empty container. I literally grabbed one in front of the screen and he kept telling me look there. At that point I was just annoyed with him. Great location at Menlo Park mall- and they do great business The one star is because of horrible customer service. And don't believe their loyalty "free 8 th sub" programme. The staff is either not trained or trained to yell at customers who come to claim the 8 th free sub. The best thing is that after the cashier yelled and told me that I was not trained in claiming my " reward"- that I should pay for my food- she called the manager who reinforced this - by charging me and saying that I maybe should come another time to claim my reward !! I love cheesesteaks so when I noticed this was at my local mall i gave them a try. I got a combo that came with fries and a drink. The food was good, but what bugged me was the refill on the regular drink which costs 2.20, costs 80 cents. I'm sorry, but for 2.20 I should be getting at least one refill. The cup is more expensive than the soda. My advice is ask for your drink with no ice. I realize this is a small complaint but it's still a complete rip off. read more

I dont know why anyone would give these guys a less than stellar review. Their buffalo chicken with melted swiss instead of provolone is absolutely ridiculous.
