Driving along the PCH and feeling hungry one of the first places to be seen is Shake Shack! Had to make a stop to check it out! First time in this area of Long Beach along PCH and 2nd. Entered a place that looked like a outdoor mall/plaza. Shake Shack was located right by the street entrance so be sure to head in to find parking. Upon entering this Shake Shack it was busy, people were seated and eating and all the ordering stations were packed with people. Ended up using the self-ordering stations which were like iPads on a stand. The screens were really sticky and full of water spots. Was eventually able to place an order, you can leave your leave and phone number, they will call you when your order was done. So here is the order, the Shack Stack, Chick'n Shack, Cheese Fries, Strawberry Shake, and the Wake and Shake! The Shack Stack was pretty good, a burger and Shroom burger combined. The portobello mushroom was pretty tough to bite through, not like a piece burger meat. Still a nice touch. The fired mushroom added a nice flavor to the beef combo. The Chick'n shack was ok. I still think Popeyes Chicken sandwich is still better by a long shot. Don't get me wrong, the chicken is not too dry, but it lacked a lot of that crispiness. The shakes were good! Any basic shake tastes like slurping down a melting ice cream. So the strawberry shake tastes like strawberry and vanilla ice cream. However for the Wake and Shake, it was like a coffee shake with bits of grinded up coffee beans mixed in. It was nice thick and creamy, but the coffee grounds was too much for me. The fries were ok, nothing fancy here, just your regular crinkle cut fries with nacho cheese. By the door there were mayo, ketchup, hot sauce, and mustard packets to grab along with straws and napkins. I highly do not recommend doing curbside pick-up because it's a one lane driveway to the street. If you parking by the curb you basically block everyone trying to leave is a pain to leave. They should really have curbside pick-up elsewhere or not have it at all. Overall pretty good experience. Would only go here if I'm back to this area. read more

A place that I crave once in a blue moon. I like getting their burger with everything in it with fries. My husband gets the shake stack with fries (not his favorite type of fries). The burgers are good but small and expensive. Their patties also look like they got thinner and smaller. Which means that we get a boba at Boba Guys after or grab dessert. The people working are not very attentive and are always talking to each other instead of trying to help the customer. Wish there was one that was closer in the OC area... but til then... Why I love it here: -There is always parking (since it's in 2nd&PCH 90 mins free without validation) -The wait to order/for food isn't too long (there are self ordering tablets) -The food is delicious (best tasting burgers and fries) -They always have great friendly service! Their servers are ready to answer questions, keep the establishment clean, quickly clear/clean the tables, and actually bring your order to your table (when dining in) and ask if you need anything else. I always order the ShackBurger and cheese fries. My go to is just one patty in the burger, it may look small but I promise it will fill you up! Whenever I order two patties I struggle to finish. With the burger, I love the crispy smashed beef patty and the soft chewy semi-sweet bun truly the best combo ever. With the fries, I love the crispy crinkle cut fries and beautifully cheese sauce. The cheese easily sticks onto the fries since the are crinkle shaped and their grooves are meant to hold cheese. The fries are limp and have a weird after taste. They overcook their burger where it has no juiciness. I don't understand why this place is popular. Not only was the food what you'd hope, but it's also dog-friendly! One of the employees even gave our pups some treats, which they loved. We actually ate outside because we had the pups with us! Modest sized burger, but otherwise no complaints. They got the order completed without error. Speed wasn't the quickest, but the food was good. Cheese fries had the right amount of sauce. Restaurant was kept clean despite the high traffic. Lots of parking in the lot with the first hour and a half free. If I were ever in the neighborhood again I'd not hesitate to revisit. The cheese on top is sooo good. Not too salty not too over powering. The bacon had just the right amount. I was doing some shopping at 2nd & PCH over the weekend when I realized that I hadn't yet had breakfast or lunch. There are several food options in the shopping center that are much healthier, however, I opted for Shake Shack. I love that their menu is easy to navigate for those of us infrequent SS diners. There are options other than burgers. There is no need to wait in line to order because there are self-service ordering kiosks available for non-cash transactions. Since I was combining breakfast and lunch, I went with the ShackBurger Double and an order of fries. The fries were nice and crispy without being over-done and I must admit that it hit the spot. I have not been to a Shake Shack in quite some time. This location is the smallest location that I have visited, but there is a large outdoor eating section. The burger was alright, I did like the smashed patty. The fries were very disappointing. They're crinkle fries but I would bet a million dollars these were pre-frozen. The "spicy" component is just a hefty dusting of chili powder which makes for a LOT of coughing and sneezing- I can handle spice really well but when it's just a mountain of chili powder expect to cough and sneeze a lot! Not to mention they do not taste fresh at all, again I think these are definitely shipped to the store frozen. The drink is small, no refills. Service was quick but again, very hands off as you order it yourself on the kiosk. The computer asking for a tip is hilarious to me when I literally have barely interacted with any worker here lol. I heard about this recommendation from Rhett and Link of Good mythical morning (aka GMM) of having the best buns. Even my close friend it is his top burger place. It's walking distance from the parking structure of 2nd and PCH. Inside looks very nice and presentable. They do have outdoor dining but it has fooseball (table soccer) to keep yourself entertain while waiting after ordering. The expect patrons to wear mask when order for the safety of others and staff. Forgot yours...they can offer you one. First timers: you order mainly through the kiosk but can order through staff if it's pack. Burgers don't come in a combo with fries and drink so it is order separately Like five guys. I got the roadside double with fries and drink and cookies and cream milkshake. I can see why GMM say it has the best buns but it won't fill you up except fill you up with flavor. Overall, it is very good. I got double bacon cheeseburger which is my usual order along with their bacon cheese fries which is as good as they say. The burgers are always cooked well done and their buns are the best. You can never go wrong with a Shake Shack burger! This location in LB is the closest Shake Shack location to me so I'm always stopping by when I get those burger cravings. There is a parking lot where you can park and walk to the spot. The first 1 hour and 30 mins is free and then from there you have to pay for parking. This location has a decent amount of seating and self-ordering machines as well. The staff here are bee friendly and accommodating. I tried the two newest burgers they had: the white truffle burger and the white truffle shroom burger. Both did not miss! I would highly recommend trying both of them if you get the chance. 1/10/23 - HERE's The SCOOP: So Shake Shake is apart of T-mobile Tuesdays today and they're offering: a Free ShackBurger - cool, right? NOPE! For those who are unfamiliar with this particular burger it's Angus beef, lettuce, tomato, cheese and a special sauce I decided to call ahead before placing an order. I spoke to the manger who informed me that they are ONLY honoring the ShackBurger. What about those who don't eat beef, I asked. Welp, apparently that doesn't matter to them. HERE's My RANT: I really think that it's foolish to be struggling as a company (hence the offer on T-Mobile Tuesday to bring in business) and not accommodate folks dietary preferences. They would get more business by allowing people to get the patty of choice (vegetarian, chicken, etc.) because obviously most people are not just going to go in for the FREE BURGER but WOULD ADD fries, etc. to their order. They're currently offering a special after 8pm "buy one shake get another free" which is a pretty good deal if you get a craving at night (check with their website or app to find out if that's still going on or if they have other deals going on). The seasonal Pumpkin Shake is a solid choice with tiny bits of pumpkin seeds that's great for that little chew while you drink. I wish that the shake was thicker though--I felt that it was more liquid-y than I usually like my shakes and with their name the way it is, I was kind of hoping to be blown away by superiority. ORDERED: Hot Ones™ Chicken $9.59  Crispy, white-meat chicken topped with our Hot Ones™ Spicy ShackSauce, crispy, applewood smoked bacon and Monterey Jack cheese on a toasted potato bun. 7/10 Spicy My Review: I have read a few of the reviews and those who tried the Hot Ones + Shake Shack items all ordered the Hot Ones Burger. Fried chicken wings are always (nearly) used for the Hot Ones challenge! So the Hot Ones chicken sandwich is the only logical choice. Why order anything else? Having said that, I enjoyed the sandwich. The chicken was still crispy outside and moist inside. The chicken was a big size too. Yes, the sandwich overall was a bit lukewarm, but that's a given when you have it to go. The monterey jack cheese was cold and stuck to the burger in an odd shape, the applewood smoked bacon was still lightly crispy albeit cold. But it definitely had a good smoky flavor. Now, for the Hot Ones sauce. It had this creamy, Mayo-Sriracha-like flavor. A good balance of creamy and spicy. When I got there, Rory greeted with with an awesome smile, and after I explained the issues I had, Rory offered to get the manager to see if the manager could help me. Long Beach location is the closest to Orange County located on PCH in the Whole Foods plaza with plenty of garage parking. I have been wanting to try Shake Shack to see what the hype is all about. Decided with the Shack burger combo with reg fries. Because of covid, you can't go inside to order they have it set up where there's a table booth in the front entrance you must wear a mask while placing your order w/ cashier they give you your receipt and ask for your name to put on the order. The cashier told us 10mins order will be ready. And 10 mins later our order was ready to go. Service was fast and friendly. In terms of food, I still don't think Shake Shack burgers/sandwiches are for me. This time I tried the chicken sandwich. While the sandwich (and burgers) have decent flavor, they're still too small to justify the higher than average price. The fries, however, are still really good. This is one of the tastier burger chains out there and worth getting as a treat every now and then. I happened to be in Long Beach, so had to stop by. I ordered the white truffle burger, fries, and a tiramisu shake on their self-ordering tablet. According to their online ordering site, the wait was about 7-14 mins, but decided to go in to order anyways. I entered my phone number and went outside to wait for my food, since it was quite crowded outside. I never got a text after fifteen mins, so went to walk around. I waited an extra ten mins, so I wouldn't overwhelm the workers and gave them the benefit of the doubt. But eventually went in to ask about my order. The server at the counter seemed stressed out and told me they've been calling my name out for fifteen mins with a slight attitude. Before I could explain that I never got a text that it was ready, he gave me my food and walked away. It seems like their system is faulty. Had I known that texting wasn't reliable, I wouldn't have walked away. I noticed that the workers would sometimes come out to call the name but I wouldn't trust that method either. I love Shake Shack! Their burgers, chicken, fries and shakes are so good. Had it for the first time a few years ago and I keep coming back. This is the closest location to OC, where I am from, and it's not a far drive coming from Huntington Beach. Would love if they opened a location in OC! As an Orange County native, living here my whole life, I know there's competition between In-N-Out and Shake Shack. I grew up with In-N-Out and I love it but I also cannot deny my love for Shake Shack. It's really hard to compare the two because I feel like Shake Shack and In-N-Out just taste different. It really just depends on my mood and if I am in the area. Yes, Shake Shack is considerably more expensive but I feel like it's so good that I don't care! I usually get the ShackBurger and Crinkle Cut Fries. Sometimes I will get their Chick'n Shack Sandwich and it's bomb! Sometimes I get the burger and chicken sandwich and eat half of each and save them for later haha. I honestly love their potato buns, so soft and delicious with their burgers and sandwiches. If I'm craving dessert I'll also get a shake, delicious. I still need to try their custard! Expect a line when you come because they're usually busy! I usually come for a late dinner around 8-9 PM on Fridays or Saturdays and there is usually a small line but the wait isn't too bad. Parking is easy, you can park in the parking structure for the plaza and it's free. For two people, I would say expect to spend $20 - 30 here! Quite inexpensive dinner! read more

This place is so overhyped and restaurant expensive, i ordered to go the burger greasy and the bun was like a sponge of grease. THEY DIDN't EV WED N PUT A SINGLE NAPKIN IN THE BAG. my car is a mess from the grease. The breading in the fried pickles was not fresh nor crisp. Ill never go to another shake shack again. read more

A bit disappointing compared to other shake shacks. They put sauce in the burger when we had noted it on the side. Lettuce also seemed stale and soggy. The custard was melted and the chocolate was freezer burned. read more
